Chapter 20: Elated, Intoxicated.
The sound of water trickling came from inside the bathroom.
It was a little too noisy.
Rong Wei frowned and reached out to turn off the faucet.
Tonight was cloudy; the moon was completely obscured. Outside was an inky blackness, everything was quiet, and the bathroom was even more so now.
Her gaze fell on the spot where Jiang Yu’s right hand had just touched. After a long moment, she met those damp eyes, her tone rising: “You like this?”
At this moment, Jiang Yu couldn’t hear any other sounds in her ears.
She just looked at Rong Wei, her finger gently touching the back of Rong Wei’s hand, sliding up and down over the veins, candid and generous: “Yes, I do.”
Another moment of silence passed; Rong Wei didn’t react.
Jiang Yu pursed her lips: “It’s fine if you don’t like it.”
After all, this kind of thing should be enjoyable for both people.
If only she herself was pleased and the other person was just a tool, it would be too dull.
Jiang Yu leaned back against the wall, trying to use the cool touch of the tile to calm herself down.
Rong Wei meaningfully caught the momentary look of listlessness in Jiang Yu’s expression.
She curved her lips into a smile, her right hand rested on her belt, and slowly unbuckled it.
The shirt and trousers were already soaked. The belt, when drawn out, felt heavy and wet.
The leather belt was placed in her hand, folded into two loops.
She gently used the side without the metal buckle to lift Jiang Yu’s chin, her tone stern: “No, I just want to tell you this. Once you initiate this, you won’t have the right to choose to stop as you did just now.”
The cold, hard leather against her cheek made every cell in her body feel as if it were bursting open.
Jiang Yu suddenly felt her heart rate accelerate, and she instinctively swallowed. After a moment, she raised both hands, presenting them to Rong Wei: “It’s okay, I don’t regret it.”
Rong Wei’s eyes darkened.
…
The sound of running water in the bathroom was intermittent. The night grew increasingly dense.
Finally, Jiang Yu was carried out of the bathroom by Rong Wei, who had dried her body and the tear stains near her eyes.
She felt utterly relieved and satisfied, but her body was completely drained of strength.
She haphazardly put on the spare bathrobe she had brought and curled up in bed.
Rong Wei changed into a new set of loungewear and walked over: “It’s a little late now. Asking someone to make dinner isn’t very realistic.”
Jiang Yu hummed. She didn’t feel particularly hungry; her desire to rest outweighed eating. She was about to say she wouldn’t eat when she heard Rong Wei speak again.
“So, I might have to inconvenience you a little.”
Jiang Yu looked up, confused. Rong Wei continued, “I’ll heat up some porridge. Will you eat some later?”
At Rong Wei’s mention, Jiang Yu recalled the white porridge on the dining table and parted her lips: “Actually, you don’t have to bother. You must be tired tonight too, CEO Rong.”
Hearing this, Rong Wei chuckled softly, but she didn’t agree with her suggestion: “It’s no trouble. I’ll bring it over to you when it’s hot.”
Jiang Yu was silent for a moment, then finally agreed.
She watched Rong Wei’s retreating figure and couldn’t help but fall into thought, once again marveling.
This person’s physical strength and energy were unbelievably good. She was still so energetic, and still talking to her calmly, asking if she wanted to drink porridge.
Jiang Yu’s thoughts were a bit scattered, and her fingers rested on her wrist.
The texture of the leather was too cold and hard, and too much time had passed. Even after it was removed, Jiang Yu still felt a faint ache on her skin.
Yet, she didn’t hate this pain. On the contrary, she felt elated, intoxicated, and inevitably, she wanted more.
It was as if some roaring desire was taking root in her heart, unstoppable.
Jiang Yu rubbed her wrist distractedly, not noticing the passage of time.
Rong Wei heated the porridge and returned to see Jiang Yu staring at her wrist.
She hadn’t used much force, but Jiang Yu’s skin was too tender and fair, making it easy to leave marks. Even now, a red circle remained on her wrist.
“I’ve put it here. Remember to eat it.”
Rong Wei’s voice suddenly brought Jiang Yu back to attention. She stretched her neck twice, gave a small “oh,” and said: “Thank you for the trouble, CEO Rong. Aren’t you going to eat with me?”
Rong Wei paused: “I’ll go to the dining room.”
Jiang Yu nodded, saying no more.
Rong Wei left, and Jiang Yu was alone in the bedroom.
The chef Rong Wei hired was likely Chinese, as the food was Chinese cuisine.
The vegetable lean meat porridge was neither too salty nor too bland; the taste was just right, even somewhat tempting. Before she knew it, Jiang Yu had eaten most of it.
Jiang Yu herself was quite surprised.
Her long-standing habit of dieting and losing weight during her modeling career had ruined her appetite over time.
Eating for her was merely a survival mechanism. If she wasn’t truly hungry, she didn’t really enjoy eating or bother with it.
The chef at this hotel was excellent. Jiang Yu secretly planned to ask the chef to prepare a few more Chinese meals for her next time.
Thinking this, Jiang Yu placed the empty bowl aside.
Rong Wei had already brought the bowl over for her; she felt too embarrassed to trouble Rong Wei to take it back.
Although the vegetable porridge was mild, Jiang Yu had a keen sense of smell. She could faintly smell the scent even lying down.
Ultimately, she decided to get out of bed and return the bowl herself.
She tentatively stood up. The moment her foot touched the floor, her body instinctively felt like falling forward.
Jiang Yu let out a soft “tsk,” took a deep breath, finally steadied herself, picked up the bowl, and walked out.
Rong Wei had just finished eating. Her gaze naturally fell on Jiang Yu, and she asked leisurely, “Do you still have energy?”
Jiang Yu made an “uh” sound: “Just returning a bowl, that’s all.”
“Do you want to go to bed early, CEO Rong?”
Rong Wei illuminated her phone screen. It was only just past midnight: “It’s still early. You go to sleep first.”
Jiang Yu had a few other things she wanted to say to Rong Wei, but having just eaten and drunk, she did feel a surge of sleepiness and uncontrollably yawned.
“Are you in a hurry to leave tomorrow morning?”
Rong Wei looked down at her schedule on her phone: “I have a meeting at nine.”
Jiang Yu hummed: “Then, CEO Rong, wait for me tomorrow morning. I have something I want to talk to you about.”
Rong Wei saw that Jiang Yu was indeed physically exhausted right now, so she nodded and agreed.
Jiang Yu disappeared from her sight.
She briefly cleared the dishes, sat on the sofa, and lit a cigarette.
She wasn’t addicted to smoking, but at this moment, her nerves were too stimulated, and she needed something more intense to mask it.
The cigarette quickly burned down. Rong Wei calmed down, extinguished the butt, and was about to go to bed when her phone screen lit up.
It was a message from her friend, Jiang Nansheng.
【When are you coming back? Your business trip is really long this time.】
Rong Wei blankly replied with a ‘1’, and then responded: 【It’ll be a while. What’s up?】
Jiang Nansheng: 【Nothing much, just bored during my lunch break. Anyway, you don’t have anything going on, and your sister left, so you must be bored alone. I thought I’d chat with you.】
Bored?
Rong Wei didn’t think so.
She chuckled softly, flexed her wrists, and replied seriously: 【Not bad. I’m not bored.】
…
Rong Wei and Jiang Nansheng chatted for a while longer. Ten minutes later, Jiang Nansheng said she was going back to work, and Rong Wei put down her phone.
She sat quietly, her fingertips tracing the cigarette pack, remaining still for a long time.
Jiang Nansheng’s message actually reminded her of something from the past.
It was something about Jiang Yu, concerning their second meeting in the true sense.
