- Chapter 5 - I Want a Divorce
“Your Highness, do you need to take those gemstones with you as well? They have been stored in your private collection room since you brought them back.” In the old mansion, the butler followed respectfully behind Yi Xuan, holding an old-fashioned pen and paper. He kept writing something in his notebook, occasionally looking up to ask for Yi Xuan’s opinion in a low voice.
This was the third day since Yi Xuan was discharged from the hospital. It was not yet the time written in the book for him to meet Misert, and if nothing unexpected happened, this meeting would likely not take place.
“No, just take the things I use regularly.” Yi Xuan walked slowly to the second floor of the mansion. There were many valuable calligraphy and paintings hanging in the hallway. Even though this is an era of future technology, these ancient, priceless works were still very precious and could even be described as rare.
“Understood, Your Highness. However, the Head of the Household still hopes you will stay at home. You are a high-level male Zerg, and living alone outside is inevitably too dangerous.” The sub-Zerg butler, who was following behind Yi Xuan, thought of the instructions from His Highness Sid once again and could not help but try to persuade him again.
The Head of the Household he mentioned, Sid, was the male parent of this body—that A-level male Zerg.
“It is fine. I can take care of myself.” Yi Xuan’s expression was indifferent; he did not react much after hearing these words.
“Tell my male parent not to worry.”
He had already lost count of how many times he had been urged to stay over the past two days.
But he felt that he would have to move out eventually anyway. Whether he left sooner or later was just a matter of timing. Besides, living alone outside would be more comfortable; at least life would be quieter and more relaxing, and he would not have to keep maintaining the original owner’s habits and temperament.
The original owner’s current personality was a bit like his own after letting loose, but much more overbearing and unreasonable.
Seeing that he could not persuade Yi Xuan, the butler did not force the issue. He then brought up another matter Yi Xuan had entrusted to him a few days ago: “Your Highness, regarding the divorce you mentioned, it may take a little more time. The Nalete family has some objections, but it is mainly because Mr. Misert’s reaction was quite intense. He even said he wanted to invite you on a date this weekend. I wonder if there is some misunderstanding between you two; he wants to come over personally to explain it to you.”
Divorce.
This was the most direct and efficient way Yi Xuan could think of to get rid of the plot during his days in the hospital.
To be honest, he was just a shut-in; he really did not want to get involved in this “you love me, I don’t love you” plot. If this were not a plot he had written himself, he would have cursed at the heavens.
But life is unpredictable, and this plot was written by him, the partner was designed by him, this personality was created by him—and then, he transmigrated into it.
If you ask what Yi Xuan wants to do most right now, it would probably be to transmigrate back and slap himself in the face for writing this plot. You wanted this cliché, melodramatic, tear-jerker story, and now look at you!
See if you still like messing with these weird things in the future.
“Did you not tell him that this is my intention?” After listening to the butler, Yi Xuan was stunned for a moment, as if he had not expected this result.
This did not seem right. Although A-level male Zergs were rare, given Misert’s qualifications, it should not be difficult for him to find another A-level noble male Zerg to marry. And if he was afraid of being a “second-hand” husband, that was even less of a concern. Yi Xuan had not even reached adulthood yet, so even if the two divorced, it would not damage Misert’s reputation.
Besides, Yi Xuan had offered plenty of compensation. According to Misert’s profit-oriented personality, weighing the pros and cons, there was no reason for him to refuse, even just to save face for Yi Xuan.
Furthermore, according to his understanding of Misert, this Zerg did not like to force others. Regarding a future husband he had never met, Yi Xuan could not think of a reason why he would refuse a divorce.
After all, this was not three years in the future, and Misert had not fallen in love with him yet; he should not have refused.
The butler explained respectfully: “I did, Your Highness, but he seems to want to persist.”
Yi Xuan frowned, seemingly displeased with this matter exceeding his expectations: “Have you discussed the compensation and the reason for the divorce that will be announced publicly with him?”
“We have discussed it, Your Highness.”
“And he still disagrees?”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
“…”
Even though Yi Xuan was walking slowly, he had already reached the door of his room. The things he used often inside had been packed up, but the room remained luxurious. After he left, it would still be prepared for him, and the vacant space would naturally be filled by someone else.
“Your Highness, do you plan to meet that gentleman?” The butler stopped at the door of Yi Xuan’s room, knowing his place, and did not step further inside. His gaze was naturally lowered, and he did not dare to peek at anything in the room.
“No. I am moving recently.” Yi Xuan refused bluntly.
“Understood, Your Highness. I will convey your message to that gentleman.”
Even though the butler knew that his noble male Zerg master did not need to move things personally, since his master had refused, there was no need to persuade him further.
As the only son of the Alfred family, Yi Xuan had the power to say “no” to everything. As long as he did not want to see someone, even if that person was the Judge, Misert Nalete, his married female consort would not be able to see him either.
After returning to his room, Yi Xuan looked around and found that the items were mostly packed. He did not have much desire to stay, so he said to the butler still standing outside the door: “Help me bring out the limited-edition floating starship I bought a few days ago.”
“Understood, Your Highness. Should I have the rest of your floating starships sent to your new residence?” The butler replied in a low voice and then sent a message to the other Zergs via his terminal.
Yi Xuan waved his hand, stepped forward to pick up the jacket left in the room, and walked toward the door: “No need. Just send me any floating starship as a spare. Leave the others in the home hangar.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
