- The Dormitory’s Unlucky Soul Transmigrates into the Zerg World
- Chapter 12 - I Like You
Walking out, the scene outside was not much different from what Yi Xuan had imagined. However, he did not see any Zerg corpses. There were Zerg specially assigned to clean up the area. The further they went, the more evident the brutality of the battle became. Although there were no dead bodies, the blood on the walls had not been cleaned up yet. As they passed a corner, one wall was plastered with thick, dried blood.
Yi Xuan’s grip on Mo Er’s hand gradually tightened. He could feel the arm of his companion trembling slightly. He glanced to the side and swallowed his saliva calmly, pretending he had seen nothing as he walked past that wall with composure.
Leading the way in front was Mislert Nareid, and bringing up the rear was Yarman. Logically, they were safe now and had no reason to be afraid. However, for a refined young man like Yi Xuan, who had never seen real blood since childhood, it was still somewhat hair-raising. Goosebumps were starting to form on his arms.
“Your Highness Yi Xuan, are you injured?”
“I have already contacted the Main Star Hospital. Rescue units will arrive shortly.”
As soon as Yi Xuan and his group walked out of the auction house, they saw Nois walking toward them quickly. The concern on his face was genuinely authentic, not like a pretense.
Yi Xuan, who was familiar with the plot, naturally knew his character. Seeing that Nois was truly worried, he nodded quickly and said, “I am not injured. Those Zergs did not find us.”
“That is good.”
After Nois finished speaking, a flash of hesitation appeared on his face, as if he wanted to say something but felt embarrassed.
“Is there anything else you want to say, Father?”
This was the first time Yi Xuan had called Nois Father. Previously, the original body either called him by his name or spoke without a direct address, and even in the few days since Yi Xuan transmigrated, their conversations had been the same.
Clearly, Yi Xuan calling him Father caused Nois great surprise. He stared at Yi Xuan for a long time before stammering rarely, “No, nothing. It is just that the Master was talking about you today and wanted me to ask if you could go back to see him when you have time.”
“Pfft, okay, I will.” Yi Xuan could not help but chuckle at the rare confusion on Nois’s usually stern face. This time, he agreed with unusual readiness.
Hearing Yi Xuan’s laughter, a suspicious blush flashed across Nois’s face. He turned his head away awkwardly and coughed softly to cover his embarrassment, though the tips of his ears were already red.
“It is getting late, and I am a bit tired today. My friend and I will leave first. I will leave the rest to you, Father.” Yi Xuan did not embarrass Nois further and turned to hold Mo Er’s hand again, intending to leave.
“Good.”
Nois coughed softly and replied. However, he could not help but add a final word of caution: “Rest early and stay safe on your way back.”
“Okay.” Yi Xuan’s voice lifted at the end of his sentence, clearly in a good mood.
Mislert Nareid, who had been following him, naturally stepped forward to follow when he saw Yi Xuan leaving, though his gaze remained fixed on the hand his Master was holding to another male Zerg.
Why did he feel a bit sour? His Master had not held his hand like that in a long time, and this morning he had even talked about divorce.
Mislert: QAQ
Yi Xuan did not notice Mislert, who had been following them, until they reached the spacecraft. He asked with hesitation, “Are you planning to take the same hovering spacecraft back with us?”
Only then did Mislert remember that they were not living together anymore, and his Master did not even like him close by. He stopped in his tracks, unsure of what to do. Habit is a terrifying thing. He had clearly become used to following behind that person, and now he had to change.
“I…”
Mislert had intended to say he would leave, but as the words reached his lips, they shifted. He lowered his head, his voice muffled, sounding inexplicably aggrieved. “My spacecraft had an accident on the way here, and I have no way to return now. Master, could you please give me a ride? I will be quiet and try my best not to disturb you.”
Mislert’s appearance was already perfectly aligned with Yi Xuan’s aesthetic preferences, and now that he was acting weak and pleading, Yi Xuan’s heart softened once again. However, this scene was inexplicably painful to the battle-hardened Mo Er. Is it a trend for female Zergs to act like a green tea character now?
Mo Er did not understand. He wanted to tell Yi Xuan not to fall for it, but he heard his friend agree in a serious tone. Oh no! I forgot that my friend is a sucker for this!
Mo Er’s vigilant gaze fell upon Mislert. Since he himself could act like a green tea character, how could he not know what that female Zerg was plotting? Mislert, who had already boarded the spacecraft, sensed that unkind gaze immediately. He twitched the corner of his mouth and smiled at Mo Er.
Mo Er: …??
He is provoking me, isn’t he? He definitely is! You kid are so arrogant? You dare to provoke his primary companion the moment you step onto the ship? Do not forget, I am Yi Xuan’s primary companion!
Mo Er curled his lip and hugged Yi Xuan, leaving only a nonchalant back for Mislert to see. Hmph, Yi Xuan’s waist. I can hug it whenever I want, do not even dream about it, you green tea female Zerg!
Mislert, sitting in the back row, acted as if he saw nothing and stopped looking toward Yi Xuan and Mo Er. However, his hands, hidden under his lap, clenched unconsciously, his veins bulging. The atmosphere in the car froze to a terrifying degree, though Yi Xuan had not been paying attention to their interaction and remained completely unaware.
Since they were using the spacecraft Mo Er had used that afternoon, they headed to Yi Xuan’s place first. Seeing Yi Xuan get off the ship, Mislert followed him naturally. Mo Er had intended to go along as well but was persuaded by Yi Xuan to head home early to rest. Forced to comply, Mo Er gave Mislert a warning look and sat back in the spacecraft, feeling uneasy.
“Are you planning to follow me into my house?” Yi Xuan walked to the villa door and asked helplessly when he noticed Mislert still following him. He emphasized the word “my” significantly. His intention was to make him take the hint and head back to where he belonged.
“I… my apologies.” Hearing Yi Xuan say this, Mislert apologized quickly. He did not just apologize; he took a few steps back. The two were now at a safe distance.
“Master, about this morning, I would like to talk to you again.” Mislert bit his lip, saying with caution.
In the end, Mislert was a character he had created in his writing, and Yi Xuan could not truly bring himself to be cruel. Seeing him like this, Yi Xuan sighed helplessly again, turned, and opened the door, letting the Zerg behind him enter. He felt as if he had sighed more today than in the past twenty-some years combined.
“Dingdang, bring two glasses of water.” Yi Xuan said to the small robot waiting to the side as he entered.
“Okay, Master.”
“Sit down, do not kneel.”
Just as Yi Xuan sat down, Mislert naturally started to kneel at his feet, but fortunately, Yi Xuan spoke fast enough to stop him.
“What do you want to talk to me about?”
Yi Xuan relaxed his body, sinking into the sofa, indifferent to Mislert’s request to talk. He did not think there was anything worth discussing between them, besides divorce, which was just a matter of how much compensation to pay.
“Master, about the divorce you mentioned this morning, can we not get a divorce?” Mislert clasped his hands tightly, looking nervous.
“Reason?” Yi Xuan took the water glass handed to him by Dingdang and took a small sip.
When it came to this, Mislert hesitated. He was not good with words, and he spent a long time organizing his plea, but in the end, he only managed to blurt out a sentence that was the simplest, yet the hardest, to say:
“Because, I like you.”
