The Delicate Beauty Grabbed the Cannon Fodder Villain’s Script [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 28
After Jian Tao stepped out, he breathed in the air outside the room desperately. He felt that if he stayed inside any longer, he would eventually develop a psychological ailment from the fright.
Not only did Jiang Mu have a severe case of germaphobia, but he also acted like a complete psychopath. If Jiang Mu ever found out that Jian Tao planned to provide him with a kept little lover after his arrival, he would likely throw Jian Tao into a vat of disinfectant to soak.
Just the thought of it caused Jian Tao to break into a cold sweat. As he turned the corner of the hallway, he had the misfortune of bumping into his future lover, Lu Jingze. The other man was busy moving items, but upon seeing Jian Tao, he immediately ran over eagerly.
“Brother, hide quickly! Be careful, or you will be found soon,” Lu Jingze said.
After the incident in the study, Jian Tao was in no mood for games. “Whatever,” he replied.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Lu Jingze blocked his path. Just as Lu Jingze reached out to grab his shoulder, Jian Tao instinctively dodged. Lu Jingze could only whisper, “There are two people behind me who have been looking for you. You should hide for a moment.”
Jian Tao gave a brief response and glanced around. He felt as though someone was constantly staring at him; the after-effects of the study incident were beginning to surface. Though he did not want to play anymore, his instinct was still to hide if he was about to be caught. However, the footsteps were drawing closer. With only one person blocking him, he would definitely be spotted. He pressed his hands on Lu Jingze’s shoulders and poked his head out to look, only to lock eyes with the pursuers.
When Su Wen and Jiang Shi saw him, their expressions darkened immediately. Jian Tao decided to stop hiding altogether. The two men looked at Lu Jingze with unfriendly expressions. Jiang Shi, being the impatient one, questioned him sharply, “What were you two just doing?”
Jian Tao naturally did not want Jiang Shi to have a confrontation with Lu Jingze, so he spoke up quickly. “I asked him to block for me. I did not expect you guys to find me anyway.” He then waved Lu Jingze away. “Alright, go back to whatever you were doing.”
Lu Jingze cast a lingering, reluctant look at Jian Tao before leaving. As the group walked downstairs together, Jian Tao felt the oppressive atmosphere. He glanced at Su Wen and Jiang Shi on either side of him. He wondered if they had just had another argument. Perhaps it was because Jiang Shi had kissed his forehead; that really was a bit much.
Now that the climax of the plot had mostly settled, Jian Tao felt he should facilitate the relationship between the main leads. The first step was to clear the misunderstanding between them. Jian Tao turned his gaze toward Jiang Shi and asked with a touch of sentiment, “Jiang Shi, you told me before that even if we got married, you would still find me annoying. Do you find me a little less annoying now?”
Jiang Shi’s mind had been full of thoughts about how to tire Jian Tao out on their wedding night so that he could not get out of bed. It was meant to be a punishment for always flirting like this. Suddenly hearing Jian Tao’s question, he was caught off guard, and his ears turned completely red. He instinctively checked to see who else was around before lifting his chin slightly.
“Yes, so what if we are married? My feelings for you are currently in the negatives. It depends on your performance and how you are going to turn that negative into a positive,” Jiang Shi said. He curled his lips into a smirk. “So, you better be good, okay? You are about to achieve what you have always dreamed of; shouldn’t you work harder for it?”
“Yes,” Jian Tao nodded in agreement. He stole a glance at Su Wen. Sure enough, after Su Wen heard Jiang Shi’s cold words, his expression looked much better.
Night fell, and Jiang Mu remained in the study. The light from the screen cast flickering shadows across his face, making his expression unreadable. He tapped his finger rhythmically on the desk. A knock sounded at the door, and Uncle Chen walked in.
“Eldest Young Master, did you call for me?”
Jiang Mu did not look up. His deep voice rang out, “Have Jian Tao move into my room tonight.”
Hearing this, Uncle Chen froze for a moment. “This is…”
Jiang Mu ignored his look of surprise. “Go do it.”
“Yes, Young Master.”
Through the screen, Jiang Mu’s fingertips traced Jian Tao’s face. He murmured, “So obedient.”
The birthday banquet lasted until the early hours of the morning. Jiang Shi was the first to get drunk, and most of the others followed suit. The servants arranged for them to be taken to their rooms one by one. Jian Tao was one of the few who remained sober. He was led by the butler to a room on the second floor. The room’s color scheme was dark and oppressive; it was extremely minimalist and cold.
Though he did not care for this style of decor, he was too exhausted to be picky. While washing up, he noticed there were someone else’s daily necessities here. He wondered whose room had been requisitioned for him. Jian Tao did not dwell on it; as long as the room was clean, it was fine. He was past the point of exhaustion. His hands and feet felt weak, and his chest felt a bit numb. Staying up late had left his body feeling hollow. The moment he lay on the bed, he fell asleep almost instantly.
The room was dim and quiet, lit only by a small night light. By now, the entire villa had settled into silence, and everyone was asleep. It was at this moment that Jian Tao’s door opened, and a tall figure walked in. Jiang Mu walked to the bedside and gazed quietly at the sleeping Jian Tao, standing motionless as if he had lost track of time.
After an unknown amount of time, he finally sat on the edge of the bed. Occasionally, he would poke Jian Tao’s cheek, stroke his hair, or squeeze his hand. He would even lean down to catch the scent on the other’s body. He repeated these actions over and over, never tiring of them.
