The Delicate Beauty Grabbed the Cannon Fodder Villain’s Script [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 27
Jian Tao was focusing intently on a WeChat mini-game. He was completely oblivious to how Su Wen was handling his legs at that moment.
Just as he was about to clear a level, a call from Jiang Shi came in. Jian Tao felt extremely annoyed by the interruption, but he had no choice but to answer.
As Jian Tao pressed the answer button and lifted the phone to his ear, he noticed Su Wen finally releasing his ankle. “Hello,” he said.
The voice on the other end sounded somewhat helpless. “Jian Tao, where did you run off to again?”
“I am resting in my room,” Jian Tao replied, his voice sounding lazy.
“I am under the banyan tree in the courtyard. Come here now because I am waiting for you,” Jiang Shi said. His voice sounded somewhat intoxicated.
“Alright,” Jian Tao said. He hung up the phone and slowly climbed out of bed.
Watching this, Su Wen felt his previous thoughts had been too conservative. He felt he should have refused to let Jian Tao go for the entire night. He wanted to work him until he was as limp as a pool of water as punishment for his long-standing obsession with Jiang Shi.
Jian Tao brushed past Su Wen. He failed to notice the deep, inscrutable look in Su Wen’s eyes as he stepped out of the room.
In the courtyard, some people were already stumbling drunk while others were still excitedly playing drinking games.
Jian Tao did not join them. After stepping out, he intended to turn right. There was a banyan tree by the courtyard wall that he had noticed when he arrived. He found his way there directly without needing a guide.
Jiang Shi was indeed waiting for him. A swing had been installed on a branch of the banyan tree, and he was currently sitting on it with his head drooping slightly like an innocent child.
Hearing footsteps, Jiang Shi looked up. A smile immediately broke across his face. He stood up, stepped forward, and pulled Jian Tao into a tight embrace, burying his nose in the crook of Jian Tao’s neck.
He was tipsy and slightly excited from the alcohol. “Jian Tao, are you happy?” he asked.
Jian Tao was held so tightly that he could hardly move. “I am happy,” he replied.
Jiang Shi let out a soft laugh. “I knew you would be happy. Is this not what you have always dreamed of? You have finally gotten what you wanted.”
Jian Tao nearly rolled his eyes at him. “Yes, I wanted it very much. I even dreamed about it.”
Jiang Shi tightened his grip further, took a deep breath of Jian Tao’s scent, and then let go. Under the moonlight, the person before him was breathtakingly beautiful. His fingertips traced the contours of Jian Tao’s eyes and brows, finally resting on his lips.
Jian Tao’s eyes widened. He restrained himself from dodging because he did not believe Jiang Shi would actually kiss him. However, Jiang Shi’s lips eventually landed on his forehead.
Then, the lips slid toward the tip of his ear, grazing and rubbing against it. Jian Tao felt his ear flush hot for a moment as Jiang Shi’s hoarse voice rang in his ear. “We will save our first time for our wedding night.”
Jian Tao’s heart skipped a beat. He looked at Jiang Shi in surprise, but his expression was obscured by the moonlight. Then, he spotted Su Wen’s silhouette not far away. Su Wen was hidden in the shadows, and his glasses reflected a cold glint.
Su Wen looked terrifyingly grim. He had lured others over, and the clamor of a dozen people was steadily approaching. He stood on the other side of the tree, silently watching as the crowd swarmed Jiang Shi.
He felt slightly more at ease only after double-checking with the media executives that the protagonists of the prepared press release were Jiang Mu and Jian Tao.
In truth, it did not matter if Jian Tao actually married Jiang Shi. Su Wen had a backup of the contract Jian Tao had signed. He could tell Jian Tao the truth, or he could even make the contract public.
Jian Tao squeezed out of the crowd. He disliked the heavy smell of alcohol on these people, so he stayed behind them. Jiang Shi was surrounded in the center and carried away by the moving crowd.
As Jian Tao scanned the area for Su Wen, his wrist was suddenly grabbed. He was yanked to the other side of the tree. Startled, he was about to scream when Su Wen clamped a hand over his mouth.
Seeing it was Su Wen, Jian Tao relaxed. Once released, he asked angrily, “What are you doing?”
Su Wen’s lips curved slightly. He glanced at the departing crowd and then leaned into Jian Tao’s ear. “Young Master, I will accompany you when you marry into the Jiang family.”
He still could not rest easy. He felt he had to witness the development of the situation with his own eyes to find peace of mind.
Upon hearing this, Jian Tao’s eyes lit up. Immediately, the voice of his system, 250, rang in his head. “Su Wen’s accompaniment task is complete. The overall plot completion is now at 75 percent.”
The system continued, “Plot completion exceeds 70 percent. You have received an early warning for the new mission line. Post-marriage blackening mode is activated, and you are commencing the high-speed seeking death path.”
Jian Tao felt a surge of joy and excitement. He wondered if he was finally about to leave this world. “What is blackening mode? Is it difficult?”
“Do not worry! It is just the part where the cannon fodder villain discovers he was deceived. He refuses to let anyone have a good time and begins creating chaos until his own demise,” 250 said happily. The system did not forget to offer praise. “Tao Tao, you are so amazing! Our plot is going so smoothly!”
Jian Tao felt a bit smug from the praise. He nearly forgot that Su Wen was right in front of him. In the original plot, Jian Tao had agreed because he wanted to take revenge on Su Wen by making him watch his married life with Jiang Shi. He had not expected to marry the wrong person, which inadvertently put the ‘Attacker’ and ‘Receiver’ under the same roof and played matchmaker for them.
“Fine, I agree,” Jian Tao answered light-heartedly.
Su Wen had not expected Jian Tao to agree so quickly. He took the bell Jian Tao had given him out of his pocket and shook it. The bell let out a crisp chime. Su Wen’s eyes shone with a frightening intensity as his Adam’s apple bobbed. “Young Master, as long as this rings, I will do anything for you.”
Jian Tao waved his hand with a smile. He did not take the man seriously. Given Su Wen’s current power, even if he were faking it, there was no need for such a display of loyalty. He wondered if Su Wen really intended to live up to the phrase of being his dog.
The two left the banyan tree one after the other. Not far off, Jiang Shi was searching for him again, so Jian Tao walked over.
Jiang Shi pulled him over abruptly, and his expression was quite fierce. “I went to play a game and could not find you again. How many times have I told you not to wander off?”
Facing the drunken man, Jian Tao nodded perfunctorily. Others crowded around, and they were all tipsy. They slung their arms over Jian Tao’s shoulders. They might not have dared to do so while sober, but the alcohol had made them bold. This caused Jian Tao intense annoyance.
On the second floor in the study, Jiang Mu watched all of this. His fingers rubbed incessantly against the rough surface of the desk. His nails made a harsh, grating sound as he became increasingly agitated and out of control.
It was not until he saw the crowd stop harassing Jian Tao that his anxiety dissipated, allowing him to breathe easily again.
His fingernails were worn and slightly bleeding, but Jiang Mu did not care. He clicked the mouse to enlarge the image of Jian Tao. The crowd had dispersed, and they seemed to be playing a game of hide-and-seek.
Jiang Mu’s gaze followed Jian Tao across the screen. He saw the boy head to the second floor, run down the empty, quiet corridor, and place his hand on the study’s doorknob.
Jiang Mu looked up. He heard a click, and then the door was pushed open. Jian Tao stepped inside tentatively.
The room was dimly lit, with only a desk lamp providing a glow. When Jian Tao looked over, his heart tightened. The cold white light barely illuminated the sharp lines of Jiang Mu’s jaw.
Those cold, deep eyes were hidden in the darkness, and they exerted an invisible yet overwhelming pressure.
Jian Tao immediately turned to leave, but then he heard Jiang Mu’s deep voice. “Come here.”
Jian Tao looked back, and his heart was thumping. “What for?”
“Jian Tao,” Jiang Mu called his name. He then stood up and walked toward him.
Jian Tao watched the tall figure approach. His fingers unconsciously twisted together. Once the man was directly in front of him, Jian Tao swallowed nervously and looked up slightly. His soft, sweet voice rang out. “Why did you call me?”
Jiang Mu said nothing. He turned on the lights. He then took a wet wipe and began to wipe Jian Tao’s forehead.
Feeling the cool, damp sensation, Jian Tao instinctively flinched back. He frowned and asked, “What is this? Why does it smell like disinfectant?”
Dissatisfied with Jian Tao’s attempt to dodge, Jiang Mu pressed a hand onto his shoulder to continue wiping. “It is a wet wipe. You have the scent of other men on you.”
Jian Tao’s face flushed red. He knew Jiang Mu was a severe germaphobe, but this was ridiculous. He felt like he had to be disinfected just for stepping into the man’s territory.
“I will just leave now, okay!” Jian Tao said crossly. He could not handle this with his spoiled, young master temperament.
But Jiang Mu gave him no chance to leave. He gripped the back of Jian Tao’s neck, pinning him in place. Jian Tao was already somewhat afraid of him, and now he did not dare move at all. He was held in Jiang Mu’s grip like a frightened rabbit.
Jiang Mu wiped him meticulously. The proximity was so close that Jian Tao could count the man’s eyelashes. Jiang Mu’s pupils were naturally light in color and devoid of emotion. Being stared at so intently made Jian Tao’s hair stand on end.
His neck and his hands were wiped down, along with every other inch of exposed skin. In particular, the spot on his forehead where he had been kissed was wiped obsessively until it turned red. Jian Tao complained of pain, and only then did Jiang Mu stop.
Frightened by his obsessive behavior, Jian Tao’s eyes grew red, and he gave a small, aggrieved sniff. “Are we done now?”
Jiang Mu suddenly leaned in and sniffed Jian Tao’s neck. He moved his nose downward, picking up Jian Tao’s hand and smelling it all the way to the fingertips before finally nodding.
Jian Tao was nearly moved to tears by the fright. Jiang Mu’s pale eyes looked directly at him as his thumb brushed a tear from the corner of Jian Tao’s eye. His voice softened into a coaxing tone. “Do not let anyone touch you. Do you understand?”
