The Delicate Beauty Grabbed the Cannon Fodder Villain’s Script [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 20
Jian Tao was completely shaken by this task. He stared blankly at the person before him, momentarily losing the ability to look away.
“System, do I still have the right to refuse this task?” Jian Tao asked 250.
“No,” 250 said solemnly. “Once a task is accepted, it is included in the overall plot evaluation. If the task is not completed, it will likely affect the accuracy of your departure from this world.”
Jian Tao felt an immense wave of regret. Why did he have to touch this plotline? Although it might lead to an early exit, the method of departure would likely be a tragic death!
“Sir? Is there a problem?”
Lu Jingze’s voice pulled Jian Tao back to reality. His moist eyes blinked for a second before he immediately put on the persona of a spoiled heir. “Sit down and have a few drinks with me, otherwise, there’s going to be a big problem.”
Jian Tao felt that since things had already reached this point, he had no choice but to complete the task well. Fortunately, 250 had provided him with the details for navigating this mission.
His attitude toward Lu Jingze had to be harsh. First, to maintain his spoiled heir persona; and second, for plot reasons. Jian Tao was supposed to insist on keeping him as a “sugar baby” specifically—rather than anyone else—because later on, Jian Tao realizes Lu Jingze likes Jiang Shi. Since they both hang around the bar and Lu Jingze understands music, they eventually become familiar. At that point, Jian Tao, bitter that he married the wrong person, decides that if he can’t have a happy ending, Lu Jingze shouldn’t get to maintain his beautiful secret crush either. So, he picks him.
Furthermore, after the forced arrangement begins, this illicit relationship needs to be “leaked” to Jiang Mu by Lu Jingze himself as an act of revenge.
So for now, he could lay the groundwork for the future arrangement. Lu Jingze was only nineteen years old, powerless and penniless. Under the pressure of Jian Tao’s tyrannical influence, he would have no choice but to submit. This made him easy for Jian Tao to manipulate and allowed them to build a connection.
Jian Tao planned to train him into his own “playmate” lackey. This would save a lot of trouble later and make the transition to a formal arrangement much easier.
Jian Tao put on an imposing air and stared him down. It worked perfectly; Lu Jingze sat down obediently beside him.
“Alright,” Lu Jingze said.
Now, Jian Tao finally got a clear look at his face. His features were defined, yet the lines of his face were relatively soft, placing him somewhere between a youth and a man. His eyes were clear and bright, fitting the “obedient wolf pup” archetype. However, in the later stages of the story after being kept as a sugar baby and failing to win over the person he loved his character would break down. Luckily, Jian Tao would be leaving the world before that happened.
Facing a “puppy-like” character, Jian Tao felt relatively relaxed. He pushed a glass over. “Drink it.”
As he spoke, Jian Tao glanced at the bags nearby and recognized one belonging to Jiang Shi. He rummaged through it, pulled out a stack of cash, and tossed it onto the table. “Finish this, and all of this is yours.”
Even though he was like a young wolf, his upbringing had given him a strong sense of self-respect. Jian Tao knew this was a blatant insult via money. However, he also felt that Lu Jingze’s current life was difficult, and this money might make things a bit easier for him.
Without a word, Lu Jingze downed the drink in one gulp. Afterward, he coughed slightly, appearing to be a lightweight.
“Hmm… very obedient,” Jian Tao said. He took out another stack of cash to count it, then sent a transfer to Jiang Shi to cover what he took.
Jian Tao placed another stack of money on the table. The lights cast a hallucinogenic glow on his face, making him look unrealistically beautiful. His delicate face wore a look of contempt. “Are you going to drink this glass too?”
Lu Jingze’s gaze swept over the lips Jian Tao had just licked they were moist and shimmering with a decadent, vivid color. He said somewhat piteously, “I’ll drink it.”
Jian Tao instinctively licked his lips again, feeling a bit guilty and sheepish. He planned to let him go after this glass. These were just low-alcohol cocktails, so it wouldn’t interfere with his remaining work.
However, just as Jian Tao opened his phone, intending to ask for the other’s contact information before letting him go, the person beside him suddenly collapsed against him.
Breath smelling of alcohol puffed against Jian Tao’s neck, making the hair on his arms stand up. While he was still confused, Lu Jingze wrapped his arms around Jian Tao’s waist as if seeking help, looking like a pathetic puppy.
“Gege, I’m drunk. Can you take me home?”
