The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 63
Bo Zhoucheng’s eyes darkened. She could guess who was behind this even with her eyes closed. Taking a deep breath, she suppressed the anger rising in her chest.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”
Bo Zhoucheng gently patted Xu Youyan’s back, hoping to give her a sense of security.
“I’m so scared. What if they had come earlier.”
Xu Youyan buried her face in Bo Zhoucheng’s neck, feeling the warmth of her skin and the relief of having narrowly escaped danger.
“This room isn’t safe, and neither is this hotel. We’ll switch to another one later.”
Bo Zhoucheng lowered her head and pressed a comforting kiss to Xu Youyan’s forehead. Just her words alone could bring an endless sense of reassurance.
“Mm.”
Xu Youyan nodded.
Her mind was a mess, and she didn’t want to dwell on these distressing matters.
Bo Zhoucheng carried her out of the bathroom. Only then did Xu Youyan vaguely recall something.
“Bo Zhoucheng, my phone must have fallen in the bedroom.”
Xu Youyan didn’t know where those people had thrown her phone, but she hadn’t seen it when she ran out to the living room earlier. It was likely still in the bedroom.
“I’ll take you there.”
Bo Zhoucheng carried her to the bedroom. Xu Youyan was very light, so carrying her wasn’t particularly tiring.
As soon as the door opened, Bo Zhoucheng was stunned by the mess on the floor.
She gripped the doorknob tightly, finding it hard to believe. If she hadn’t come today, what would have happened to Xu Youyan?
Her gaze swept across the room, landing on the fallen lamp and the shattered camera. Bo Zhoucheng’s breathing grew heavier. As an adult, how could she not understand the implications of this?
Zhou Lianghui wanted to ruin Xu Youyan’s reputation.
To stoop to such actions was no longer the childhood friend she remembered. What difference was there between such a person and a demon from the abyss?
Xu Youyan’s phone was on the bedside table. Bo Zhoucheng picked it up and quickly checked the photo gallery and chat history.
She found nothing missing and no signs of tampering.
Only then did she feel slightly relieved.
But to be safe, she still needed someone to check if any hidden software had been installed.
“What happened here?”
Cheng Zhun, upon entering the room and seeing the mess, was startled, thinking Xu Youyan and Bo Zhoucheng had gotten into a fight.
“Strangers broke into the room.”
Bo Zhoucheng shot a cold glance at Cheng Zhun. As an assistant, he had been negligent.
Although she didn’t like blaming others without reason, Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t accept Xu Youyan being left helpless in the face of danger.
“How could this.”
Cheng Zhun’s heart nearly leaped out of his chest, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
“We need to change hotels. Go make the arrangements.”
Bo Zhoucheng sighed and set Xu Youyan down on the edge of the bed.
“Yanyan, wait for me.”
Bo Zhoucheng intended to call Zhou Lianghui. If she didn’t confront him, she wouldn’t be able to quell her anger.
“Don’t go.”
Seeing Bo Zhoucheng about to leave the room, Xu Youyan felt an inexplicable fear and reached out to grab the hem of her clothes.
“Bo Zhoucheng, can you not leave me?”
Her voice was filled with cautious inquiry. Bo Zhoucheng knew Xu Youyan had been badly frightened and had no choice but to turn back.
Forget it, she could make the call later.
She held Xu Youyan and began to gently ask questions and offer comfort.
“Does your hand hurt?”
The tape was stuck on for so long, it must have left bruises and cuts.
“A little.”
Xu Youyan rested her chin on the person’s shoulder, enjoying the sense of security from being held.
“Were you scared just now?”
Bo Zhoucheng gently patted Xu Youyan’s back as she asked. In truth, the moment she saw the state of the bedroom, she was terrified too, terrified of losing Yan Yan forever.
After all, the other person couldn’t endure another psychological blow.
“Yeah.”
“But I ran out. I hit him on the head with the lamp.”
Though Xu Youyan’s voice trembled, there was a hint of laughter in it. She wasn’t completely weak and defenseless; when it mattered, she could protect herself.
“Well done.”
Bo Zhoucheng praised softly.
“But I’m still scared. What if they had really.”
“They wouldn’t.”
To keep Xu Youyan from overthinking, Bo Zhoucheng lowered her head and gently kissed her, with restraint and caution.
Xu Youyan held her breath for a moment before choosing to respond.
The feeling of suffocation could make her forget the awful events.
Fingers slowly tightened, and in the brief moments between breaths, Bo Zhoucheng would whisper gently,
“It’s okay, I’m here.”
Xu Youyan gripped the edge of the bedsheet tightly, not saying a word, drawing closer and closer, this time even more proactive.
Bo Zhoucheng was taken aback for a moment before wrapping her arms around Xu Youyan, doing her utmost to comfort her.
Until she tasted a hint of metallic blood on her lips.
“Yan Yan, don’t be so hasty.”
Bo Zhoucheng patted her shoulder.
Xu Youyan opened her eyes to look at Bo Zhoucheng, tears glistening in her gaze, looking pitiable enough to make anyone think Bo Zhoucheng had just bullied her harshly.
“As long as you’re here, I feel like I’m not afraid of anything.”
The tension in Xu Youyan’s body eased, and only then did she dare to step down.
Bo Zhoucheng had been carrying her around all this time.
Just then, two knocks sounded at the door, and Cheng Zhun’s voice called softly from outside,
“Everything’s ready. We can leave now.”
Bo Zhoucheng looked at the mess scattered across the floor and began to form a plan.
“This hotel isn’t safe anymore. Let’s switch to another one. I’ll handle the rest.”
“Yan Yan, don’t worry.”
Bo Zhoucheng narrowed her eyes slightly. She would make sure those two faced consequences.
“Okay.”
Xu Youyan nodded and walked out the door. Su Cha stood behind Cheng Zhun, her expression grim.
Xu Youyan followed Cheng Zhun out first, and only then did Su Cha dare to approach Bo Zhoucheng.
“I just asked the hotel staff, and they claimed they didn’t know anything about this.”
“It’s clearly a case of passing the buck. Zhoucheng, we need to take this seriously. Should we report it to the police?”
Su Cha hated this kind of evasive attitude the most. Bo Zhoucheng knew the hotel staff wouldn’t provide any evidence.
They were likely entangled in some way with Zhou Lianghui.
“Contact my father’s assistant to handle this. He’ll know what to do.”
Su Cha nodded. It seemed she wouldn’t be able to go to the new hotel; she had to stay and deal with this mess.
She never expected Xu Youyan to face so many misfortunes. It was as if she was born under an unlucky star, just taking on a role without knowing the full story led to Xia Qian’s death and a wave of online hate.
And now, dating Bo Zhoucheng had provoked Zhou Lianghui’s insane retaliation.
“Zhou Lianghui has gone too far this time.”
Bo Zhoucheng clenched her fingers tightly, almost turning them white.
In the past, she had relied on their childhood friendship and hadn’t outright rejected her, but this person had the audacity to push her luck and target her weakness.
This was absolutely unacceptable.
