The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 6
The game area had been set up, with brightly colored plastic balls piled on the floor. Each person was handed a small net.
The nets weren’t long, and the goal was to toss the balls into the baskets on their backs using the nets. The person with the most balls would get to choose their tent. It was a rather cliché game, but the point wasn’t about winning or losing, it was about creating romantic tension.
Xu Youyan watched the two entangled men, lost in thought. Dating shows had scripts too, it seemed. Were there really that many people not following the heterosexual script?
After all, it was 2033 people’s minds had become much more open and progressive.
Xu Youyan felt like a relic. And in a way, she really was one.
To avoid sleeping in the small tent, Xu Youyan stretched her arms and desperately scooped up the little balls. But her thirty-year-old body couldn’t keep up with her twenty-year-old spirit.
Before long, her joints began to ache, and her movements slowed. She had debuted as an idol though her acting skills were lacking, her dance foundation was still solid.
But it was precisely because of her dance training that her joints had worn down. When she was younger, she could push through with sheer passion, but as she aged, all the underlying issues surfaced.
Still, persistence paid off. Xu Youyan looked at the half-basket of balls she had collected and broke into a smile.
Hahaha! No one’s going to make me sleep in that tiny tent today.
If she had to squeeze in with Bo Zhoucheng, she’d rather sleep outside. The referee began the countdown, and everyone scrambled to grab more balls.
Just then, Bo Zhoucheng leisurely moved from the outer circle to the center of the action, pretending to accidentally compete with a female guest for a ball.
Her ankle brushed against a plastic ball, and Bo Zhoucheng calculated the distance to fall. With her superb acting skills enough to fool even fans who analyzed her frame by frame, how could she not deceive everyone present?
Xu Youyan’s triumph didn’t last long. She felt a hand grab her basket, lost her balance, and tumbled onto the soft mat.
The balls rolled out with a clatter.
In an instant, countless nets swarmed over, and Xu Youyan could only watch helplessly as her balls were snatched away. Her powerlessness and anger peaked.
“Bo Zhoucheng!”
She shouted and threw herself forward recklessly, grabbing Bo Zhoucheng by the collar.
“You absolutely did that on purpose!”
Xu Youyan’s light tea-colored hair cascaded down, carrying a faint scent of camellia that was utterly intoxicating.
Bo Zhoucheng simply shook her head.
“I’m sorry.”
Her apology sounded incredibly fragile, but Xu Youyan refused to let it go.
She leaned in until their noses were almost touching.
“Why did you have to target me and no one else?”
Then, she burst into tears.
Xu Youyan hadn’t earned the title of “pretty but useless” just for her poor acting her personality was problematic too. For instance, she cried at the slightest provocation.
But back when Bo Zhoucheng first met her, Xu Youyan had already weathered the worst moments of her life and had long shed most of her tears. During their playful bickering, Xu Youyan never truly got angry.
She only cried when Bo Zhoucheng was about to leave, using tears to win her back.
Tears fell like broken pearls, and Bo Zhoucheng panicked, clumsily wiping them away.
The plastic balls around them shifted and rolled as Xu Youyan cried until she had no strength left, collapsing entirely onto Bo Zhoucheng.
The other guests were left utterly stunned.
“Damn, they’re even better at putting on a show than we are.”
The two male guests who had just been engaged in a muscular brawl were secretly exchanging words off-camera. Truly worthy of an actress of her caliber even when it came to selling a CP (couple pairing), she put more effort and skill into it than they did.
“Don’t be angry anymore.”
“I’ll buy you your favorite ice cream, and we’ll sneakily eat it without Cheng Zhun knowing.”
Bo Zhoucheng held the person and sat up, but Xu Youyan was still not appeased, continuing to grip her collar tightly.
“I have a condition.”
Bo Zhoucheng nodded.
Just as she thought the other might ask for some designer bag or a few resources, Xu Youyan tilted her head.
“The ice cream has to have crispy cookies on top, and it’d be best with two strawberries small ones, though. I’m afraid I’ll gain weight if there are too many.”
Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t help but laugh, her shoulders shaking slightly, and she agreed to her girlfriend’s adorable request.
Su Cha, her hair a mess, hurried into the filming location, carrying the specially requested ice cream for Xu Youyan. The ice cream was well-packaged in a box surrounded by ice. Despite rushing all the way, Su Cha hadn’t damaged its appearance.
Bo Zhoucheng took it from her.
“Thanks for the trouble.”
Su Cha shook her head but couldn’t help sighing with emotion.
“Zhoucheng, why do I feel like your wife is getting more and more childish?”
Bo Zhoucheng didn’t respond, staring at the ice cream for a long while before finally nodding.
“A little bit. It’s not like her usual personality.”
But all her preferences remained the same, and her face was still the same face. Maybe she was just livelier these past few days. Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t possibly mistake Xu Youyan for someone else she remembered clearly how many moles she had on her body. It was just that her personality seemed more like when they had first met.
Perhaps she should arrange for a doctor’s visit.
Bo Zhoucheng was worried she might be developing some kind of mental health issue, but it wasn’t something she could bring up directly. She’d have to find a way to coax her into going.
Xu Youyan waited eagerly and finally saw Bo Zhoucheng approaching with a box in hand. She deliberately lowered her head, pretending not to notice Bo Zhoucheng.
“Your ice cream.”
Bo Zhoucheng sat on the chair, pushed the ice cream over, and took the knife and fork out of the packaging.
“Thank you.”
Xu Youyan briefly forgave the clumsy Bo Zhoucheng and happily started enjoying the ice cream.
By the time she finished the ice cream, it was already dark. The crew had turned on several bright lights, and even the tent was equipped with cameras.
The campsite had designated areas for showers and selling firewood. Xu Youyan went to take a quick shower, dried her hair, and then returned to the tent.
Bo Zhoucheng had already gone inside earlier and was now applying a face mask while holding a book, reading intently.
After a simple skincare routine, Xu Youyan lay down to sleep. However, the night was truly cold. As soon as she unzipped the sleeping bag, she faced a frustrating reality.
Not only was the tent small, but damn it, it was a double sleeping bag!
Wasn’t this just asking for trouble?
“What’s wrong?”
Bo Zhoucheng noticed Xu Youyan’s strange gaze and turned to look at her.
She almost called her “Yanyan” out of habit but suddenly remembered they weren’t supposed to be that familiar in front of the fans, so she held back.
“Nothing, just that I have poor sleeping posture. Please bear with me, Teacher Bo.”
When Xu Youyan said “Teacher Bo,” it was almost through gritted teeth. Bo Zhoucheng simply nodded with a smile.
But some things were better left unsaid in front of the audience.
So, she raised her hand to cover the microphone, leaned in close, and her alluring red lips pressed against the earlobe, sending a tingling sensation straight to Xu Youyan’s heart.
“I know, but, Yanyan, you can’t kick a sleeping bag off the bed.”
Xu Youyan was momentarily speechless, gritting her teeth.
“Why are you still holding onto that?”
Bo Zhouqian blinked innocently.
“Well, you’re still holding onto what I said about you ten years ago. Yanyan, we should be fair about this.”
