The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 39
“I came to find you.”
Although she felt there was nothing to it in her heart, standing in front of this person now, Xu Youyan couldn’t help but feel shy and embarrassed.
She was still holding her pajamas in her hand, and Bo Zhoucheng, being a clever person, understood at a glance.
She chuckled softly, opened the door, and let her in.
“Why would you feel embarrassed coming to find me?”
Only after watching the door close did Xu Youyan feel comfortable enough to speak, placing the pajamas aside.
“I just feel a little nervous.”
Seeing Xu Youyan’s unease, Bo Zhoucheng realized she truly was nervous. Though unsure of the reason, she gently pulled her to sit by the bed.
“I actually had something I wanted to show you earlier, but you were filming during the day, so I didn’t want to disturb you.”
Bo Zhoucheng thought of the photo album. Although she felt a bit ashamed and awkward about it, since she wanted to be completely open with Yan Yan, sharing her childhood experiences was part of it.
“What is it?”
Xu Youyan’s curiosity was piqued. She sat on the edge of the bed, leaning forward eagerly.
“It’s this.”
Bo Zhoucheng took the photo album out of her suitcase and handed it directly to Xu Youyan.
The album had a sturdy texture, wrapped in a soft cloth embroidered with small floral patterns, making it quite lovely.
“These are my childhood photos.”
As Xu Youyan opened it, the first photo showed a pink-cheeked little girl in a white dress, though she wasn’t smiling much at the camera.
“You were quite cute as a child.”
Xu Youyan didn’t usually like children, as most of the kids in her relatives’ families were either noisy or spoiled brats. But Bo Zhoucheng, even as a child, had a serene quality neither crying, fussing, nor smiling.
Bo Zhoucheng looked delicate and fair-skinned as a child, like a porcelain doll. In many of the photos, she seemed unwilling to cooperate, giving them a faintly comical feel.
Xu Youyan thoroughly enjoyed looking through them, but when she reached the last photo, her mood shifted. In the picture, two children stood side by side, wearing light blue hats and small backpacks, clearly on a picnic in a grassy field. They were holding hands, and one of the children looked particularly shy, turning their face away.
“Who is this?”
Xu Youyan’s finger paused, a bad suspicion forming in her mind.
“Probably a friend of mine.”
Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t recall much from her childhood either, so she took the photo out and flipped it over. On the back, she saw the name Zhou Lianghui, along with her mother’s handwriting and the date.
“My daughter and her little son-in-law.”
Bo Zhoucheng: “…”
Seriously, Mom? You’re really setting me up like this?
Before she could finish reading, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She instinctively sensed danger and turned her head.
Sure enough, Xu Youyan had already put the photo down, her eyes dark and unreadable.
“Little son-in-law?”
Xu Youyan’s voice sounded strange. Bo Zhoucheng quickly took her hand and closed the album.
“I don’t know anything about it. Look at the date it’s from a long time ago, before we even met.”
Bo Zhoucheng tried to defend herself.
“I don’t care. I’m really angry now.”
Xu Youyan crossed her arms, pouting slightly, looking genuinely upset, like a cat with its fur puffed up, waiting for its owner to coax it with a treat.
Bo Zhoucheng had no choice but to kneel down, looking up at Xu Youyan. Alright, she admitted defeat.
“What do I need to do to make it up to you?”
Bo Zhoucheng’s voice was gentle as she reached out and pinched the back of Xu Youyan’s hand, pressing lightly—a subtle hint.
Xu Youyan opened her eyes, a faint smile playing on her lips.
“You said it yourself today, I’m going to…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Bo Zhoucheng leaned in, and Xu Youyan tumbled onto the bed, feeling utterly disoriented.
It took her a moment to catch her breath.
“What are you doing? Apologizing isn’t done like this.”
Xu Youyan rubbed her lips, her face flushed with embarrassment.
Why did Bo Zhoucheng have to bite without warning? If she hadn’t had some experience, she might have fainted from lack of oxygen just then.
“Then how should it be done?”
Bo Zhoucheng felt a slight confusion. In the past, whenever YanYan was angry, all it took was a little initiative from her, and the other would deflate like a balloon, forgiving her instantly.
But now, even though she was taking the initiative, Xu Youyan showed no sign of relief.
“Of course, it’s me.”
Xu Youyan extended a finger, its warmth pressing against Bo Zhoucheng’s lips, her eyes gleaming with a hint of smugness.
“Bullying you.”
Bo Zhoucheng thought for a moment, then sat down on a chair, her legs not crossed but pressed together.
“Fine, as long as it makes you feel better, do whatever you want.”
Bo Zhoucheng truly had no temper when it came to Xu Youyan. If anyone else dared to negotiate terms with her like this, they would have been kicked out the door long ago.
“Bo Zhoucheng, don’t move.”
Xu Youyan stood up after speaking, looking down at Bo Zhoucheng from above.
“I won’t move.”
Bo Zhoucheng nodded, lifting her gaze to meet Xu Youyan’s.
Her eyes were filled with sincerity, but given that she was an actress of award-winning caliber, it was hard to tell whether that sincerity was genuine or not.
Xu Youyan reminded herself of this internally as she sat directly on Bo Zhoucheng’s lap.
Xu Youyan raised her hand to cover Bo Zhoucheng’s eyes. With her vision suddenly blocked, Bo Zhoucheng felt a bit puzzled but not afraid.
“YanYan?”
She asked hesitantly, only to feel a tickling sensation on her neck.
It sent a shiver straight to her heart.
Xu Youyan’s movements were somewhat clumsy, and in the end, she had to let go.
“Bo Zhoucheng, why aren’t you reacting?”
Usually by this point, her own heart would be racing, but…
Xu Youyan pressed her ear against Bo Zhoucheng’s chest but couldn’t detect any acceleration in her heartbeat.
“You only touched my neck, what kind of reaction did you expect?”
Bo Zhoucheng found it amusing, wondering when YanYan had become so naive.
Back in the day, she was always the one urging Bo Zhoucheng to try new things.
“Then what should I do?”
Bo Zhoucheng was taken aback, never expecting Xu Youyan to ask such a question one day.
But saying it outright felt too embarrassing, so she gestured for Xu Youyan to lean closer. Xu Youyan obediently pressed her ear near.
Soft whispers brushed against her ear, and Xu Youyan’s face turned crimson.
“What’s wrong?”
After Bo Zhoucheng finished speaking, Xu Youyan remained motionless.
“Forget it.”
Xu Youyan stood up abruptly. Some things were different when done by others versus doing them yourself.
“Then will you still be angry with me?”
But as soon as she took a step back, her wrist was firmly grasped. Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t bear to let Xu Youyan leave her side.
She wrapped her arms around Xu Youyan from behind, holding her waist tightly.
“I’m not angry.”
“Since you said it was just an engagement arranged by your parents and has nothing to do with you.”
Though Xu Youyan said this, a trace of resentment still lingered in her heart. But,
She couldn’t blame Bo Zhoucheng for it.
This was an unexpected disaster for the other party, and Bo Zhoucheng’s parents probably wouldn’t agree to this marriage anymore.
After all, their attitude toward me was still acceptable.
