The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 3
The dance floor was bathed in the glow of colorful lights and the allure of alcohol. Xu Youyan took a sip of her cocktail through a straw, narrowed her eyes, and enjoyed the fiery performance on stage.
This was what youth was all about.
Xu Youyan brushed her hair aside. At thirty, her appearance was mature, exuding the charm of a sophisticated woman at every moment.
But her current behavior was something only her twenty-year-old self would have done abandoning her fans, ignoring the paparazzi, and seeking release for her inner self here.
Afraid of being photographed, Xu Youyan had chosen a private booth on the second floor, overlooking the entire stage through the glass railing.
She held her glass, taking slow sips one after another.
Her lips hummed along to the melody from the dance floor.
Cheng Zhun’s heart was racing with anxiety, terrified of being caught by the paparazzi, and he kept glancing around nervously.
Just then, Cheng Zhun’s phone rang.
He immediately looked down and saw it was a message from Bo Zhoucheng.
[Where is Yanyan? I messaged her, but she didn’t reply.]
Cheng Zhun glanced at Xu Youyan and, without hesitation, betrayed her by sending the location.
When Bo Zhoucheng saw the address, she instinctively frowned.
“Night Temptation?”
Her assistant, who was drinking water beside her, nearly choked upon hearing this, coughing violently.
“What’s wrong?”
Bo Zhoucheng turned around. She had never heard of the place, but she could guess it wasn’t anything good.
“That’s a place to find men. Why did Cheng Zhun take her there?”
Su Cha was full of confusion but didn’t dare say more, afraid of upsetting Bo Zhoucheng. During filming today, Bo Zhoucheng had already been distracted enough, with multiple retakes.
Hearing this, Bo Zhoucheng could no longer maintain her usual composure. She got into the car immediately.
“Drive faster.”
Her fingers clenched the car seat tightly. Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t understand what she had done wrong to deserve such punishment.
Was Xu Youyan really willing to indulge in such a place rather than give her a chance to explain?
“Sis, my dear sis, stop drinking.”
Cheng Zhun held the bottle, preventing her from touching it. Xu Youyan shook her head and clung to the bottle.
“Do you know the pain of suddenly aging ten years? I need to drown my sorrows.”
“Sis, you can’t say that. Thirty is the perfect age to join ‘Ride the Wind’!”
Cheng Zhun tried his best to persuade her. Xu Youyan half-opened her eyes, as if considering it.
Just as she found a silver lining to being ten years older, the door suddenly swung open. Bo Zhoucheng stood there, wearing a fitted white shirt and no mask.
“Xu Youyan.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s voice was cold. Xu Youyan looked up, momentarily mistaking this for ten years ago, and defiantly raised her head.
“Bo Zhoucheng, we’re not close. You should call me Miss Xu.”
Her breath was fragrant, her lips flushed red from the strong alcohol, making her look utterly enticing.
Bo Zhoucheng didn’t respond. She took a few steps closer and tightly grasped Xu Youyan’s wrist.
“Come home with me. Do you have any idea how serious the consequences would be if the paparazzi caught you here?”
Bo Zhoucheng suppressed her anger, not letting it erupt.
“I know, but it’s none of your business.”
Xu Youyan’s tone was icy as she poked Bo Zhoucheng’s collarbone with some force.
“You called me a vase. Aren’t you just waiting for me to be torn apart online?”
In her anger, she had lost all reason and logic.
Bo Zhoucheng’s heart skipped a beat as she looked down at Xu Youyan.
“That was ten years ago. You still remember?”
“How could it be something from ten years ago? It was just a few months ago.”
Xu Youyan looked up, about to say the word “breakup,” but then remembered the other person had saved her before, so she forcibly held back.
“Then I was wrong.”
Bo Zhoucheng lowered her voice, her cool tone tinged with apology, as if she had suddenly seen the light and was repenting.
In truth, she never felt she was wrong from start to finish, because it was the truth. But if her wife wanted to hear lies, then she could say them after all, she was an actress.
Whatever Xu Youyan wanted, Bo Zhoucheng could act it out.
“Can you come home with me now?”
Bo Zhoucheng softened her tone a bit and was about to take her hand to lead her back, but Xu Youyan seemed rooted to the spot.
“I haven’t finished my drink yet. I’ll go back after I finish.”
Xu Youyan grinned foolishly, just like she did when she first debuted. Because of this, her anti-fans gave her the nickname “Silly Goose,” but over time, as fans adopted it self-mockingly, it became an affectionate term.
Bo Zhoucheng felt her heart tremble twice.
She took a deep breath and decided not to indulge her any longer.
With a swift motion, before Xu Youyan could react, she found herself slung over Bo Zhoucheng’s shoulder.
Bo Zhoucheng carried her downstairs.
“Hey!”
“Let me go!”
Xu Youyan struggled but found the other person’s strength was like an ox’s she couldn’t break free at all. So she opened her mouth and shouted,
“Someone’s kidnapping a beauty!”
Bo Zhoucheng finally couldn’t take it anymore and slapped her on the waist. The sting made Xu Youyan yelp in pain and quiet down a bit.
“Yanyan, since when did you become so childish?”
After all, the thirty-year-old Xu Youyan was taciturn, like a block of ice, requiring Bo Zhoucheng, a slightly warmer piece of ice, to melt her.
But the twenty-year-old her was blazing like fire, almost scorching those around her.
“Me? Childish?”
Xu Youyan snorted disdainfully, but afraid of being hit again, she stopped struggling, resembling a wilted caterpillar.
“Bo Zhoucheng, aren’t you childish too?”
“If you have the guts, don’t kidnap me. Put me down, and I’ll definitely beat you.”
Xu Youyan was like a feisty Shiba Inu, but if you actually put her down, she’d probably droop her ears and pretend nothing had happened.
Bo Zhoucheng endured her babbling all the way and tossed her into the van.
“You’re disrespecting my human rights! Just wait, I—”
Before Xu Youyan could finish, Bo Zhoucheng suddenly leaned in. Her lips were slightly cool but impossible to resist.
Xu Youyan’s eyes widened in shock, but no matter how hard she pushed, she couldn’t break free.
She could only let the other person do as she pleased…
But later, Xu Youyan found herself dazedly thinking, So Bo Zhoucheng, who’s usually as cold as ice, actually has such soft lips.
Seeing Xu Youyan quiet down, Bo Zhoucheng wiped her lips and couldn’t help but sigh softly. After all these years, this move was still the most effective.
She reached over to fasten Xu Youyan’s seatbelt and then told the driver to head home.
Xu Youyan didn’t speak the entire way, the tips of her ears tinged pink, her mind filled with the memory of their earlier entanglement.
Damn it, damn it!
I clearly hate this person so much, but…
Why did my heart flutter just now?
Xu Youyan felt like slapping herself twice but couldn’t help glancing sideways at Bo Zhoucheng.
Bo Zhoucheng was reading a document, focused and unaware of the gaze from beside her. Xu Youyan couldn’t resist leaning closer.
“Bo Zhoucheng.”
She called out.
“Hmm?”
Bo Zhoucheng turned to face her.
“How far have we gone?”
“Or rather, how many times a month do we do it?”
Xu Youyan was genuinely curious, her gossipy nature surfacing to the point where she even wanted to inquire about her own affairs.
Bo Zhouchen’s face suddenly flushed red. Unfortunately, Xu Youyan was too tipsy at the moment; otherwise, she would definitely have teased Bo Zhouchen about it.
So, even the usually stoic and serious Bo, the acclaimed actress, could be made to blush by such a question.
