The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 89
Chapter 89
After several rounds of confirmation, the group finally accepted the fact that the glamorous woman before them was indeed their Senior Su—Aunt Rabbit.
Upon learning that Su Yi’an was there to withdraw from school, everyone was even more shocked: “Aunt Rabbit, are you really not going to study anymore? What a pity! Just two days ago, we were so envious that you could go abroad as an exchange student. Even if you’re getting married, it shouldn’t stop you from continuing your education. Won’t you really regret this?”
They couldn’t comprehend why someone would give up their studies at the top university in the country just for marriage. To them, it seemed like a waste. Jing City University was the most elite institution in the Flower Country; for a graduate student from such a school—especially an Alpha—to return home to be a housewife and take care of a wife and children was almost unheard of. It was the kind of thing that would be ridiculed if spoken aloud.
This included Lan Yin. At this moment, she had no idea what had transpired over the last two days, let alone Su Yi’an’s true identity. She not only failed to understand Aunt Rabbit’s decision but also couldn’t fathom why her Little Aunt would agree to it.
It was a small matter for her Little Aunt to support an Alpha, but would she truly stay in love with an Alpha who was mediocre and stayed home all day? Marriage was different from dating; staying like this for long wouldn’t be good. She believed that whether one was an Alpha or an Omega, they should have their own pursuits and ideals, regardless of whether they made money.
Su Yi’an shook her head. She hadn’t intended to say much, but seeing the confusion on Lan Yin’s face despite her silence, she spoke up: “I won’t regret it. I have actually already finished my master’s degree abroad and I have my own career. After marrying Sister, I’ll need to take over the family business. I won’t have the time to pursue another degree.”
As her future niece, Lan Yin would find out eventually; it was better to clear the air now. After all, they would be family. Su Yi’an had only entered the university to chase her wife; now that she had succeeded, there was no need to stay.
In truth, she wasn’t that busy—she could have studied if she wanted to—but she wanted to spend every spare moment with her Sister. If they had a child this year, she’d have to look after the baby, too. There was nothing left in the school that she particularly lingered for.
If she had any regrets, it was perhaps that she hadn’t met her Sister earlier so they could have fallen in love during her own student days.
He Xia’s mouth hung open in shock: “In… inherit the family business? Is Little Sister Su one of those tycoons who owns hundreds of thousands of cattle and sheep?”
Truly, appearances are deceiving, she thought. She had let her first impressions lead her astray. The current Su Yi’an didn’t look like a “nouveau riche” rancher at all; she looked like a high-society heiress from a prestigious family. Given her initial understanding of Su Yi’an’s background, this was the only guess He Xia could make.
Su Yi’an: “…” My family has neither cattle nor sheep. But they had plenty of mines, especially diamonds and jade. In the US, the Su family was a genuine century-old aristocratic house; there was nothing “country” about them.
Lan Yan stifled a laugh but didn’t offer much explanation. She simply began handing out the wedding invitations one by one. The invitations had been prepared by Old Man Su and sent over early that morning, so his name was printed at the start.
He Xia looked closely at the invitation. Seeing Old Man Su’s name, she muttered under her breath, “Why does Little Sister Su’s father’s name sound so familiar?” No one heard her.
Her attention was quickly diverted by the date at the bottom: “Two weeks from now? That puts the wedding around August 6th. You’ll probably be very busy then. Does the plan for everyone to come over to your house on the 1st still stand?”
As someone who loved a lively crowd, she still really wanted to visit her classmate’s home. Moreover, this was the Lan family of the capital—a place many people wanted to visit but never could. She didn’t want to miss this rare opportunity.
The wedding was set to be on the largest and most romantic island in the capital; if they missed this chance, getting into the Lan residence later might be difficult. Especially now that Little Sister Su had withdrawn.
Lan Yan nodded slightly: “Of course.”
Old Man Su was handling all the wedding arrangements, so they weren’t particularly busy. There were still many days left; she also wanted to celebrate Rabbit’s birthday. Besides, how could she go back on a promise made to these students?
Lan Yan checked the time; it was exactly noon. “Would you like to grab lunch nearby? My treat.” She still remembered that as the little Alpha’s girlfriend, she was supposed to treat her classmates. She hadn’t said it outright last time, but now that they were openly together, it was only right to treat them to a meal as a way of thanking them for looking after her Rabbit.
The withdrawal paperwork was done, and it wasn’t ideal for a large group to stand around the school gate chatting. It was better to find a place to sit.
“Yes, yes, yes! Thank you, Little Aunt!” He Xia was more than willing. It wasn’t that she was greedy for a free meal, but the noon sun was too harsh, and she was starting to feel uncomfortable standing there.
“I really didn’t expect the first one to get married to be Little Sis… Aunt Rabbit. To be honest, when she first said she had an Omega she liked, I thought she was lying to us. I never imagined it would be you, Little Aunt.”
“Wait, that’s not right,” He Xia continued as they walked toward the restaurant. “I remember when Little Sister Su first arrived at school, she said she already had an Omega she liked. But back then, she—I mean, Aunt Rabbit—didn’t seem to know you yet, Little Aunt.”
Reminded by this, everyone realized the timeline was off and looked at the couple. Lan Yan and Su Yi’an exchanged a glance and shared a knowing smile: “We had met once briefly before.”
Everyone immediately understood. These two must have fallen for each other early on and had been dating in secret.
Inside the restaurant, the conversation somehow drifted back to schoolwork. He Xia and several other girls talked excitedly. Lan Yan noticed Su Yi’an looking a bit downcast and gently squeezed her hand. “What’s wrong?”
Su Yi’an wasn’t actually unhappy; she was just feeling a bit regretful about missing out on her Sister’s student days. She replied honestly, “I just wish I had met you years ago. You must have been a legendary figure on campus.”
She imagined many Alphas must have liked her back then, and the thought made her feel a little sour. Lan Yan’s eyes flickered. Seeing that no one was paying attention to them, she leaned into Su Yi’an’s ear and whispered teasingly, “If you had met me all those years ago, Rabbit, would you even have been of age?”
When she was a student at Jing City University, many Alphas did like her. However, she was naturally aloof and disliked socializing with Alphas. Furthermore, she had founded a paranormal research club and was always studying strange things, so the number of Alphas surrounding her eventually dwindled to almost zero.
Rabbit isn’t very old, but she certainly has a big ego, Lan Yan thought. Is she really jealous over ancient history? But Rabbit was wrong about one thing: if they had met back then, they probably wouldn’t have ended up married. First, she had detested Alphas at the time; second, she wouldn’t have been with an Alpha so much younger than herself.
Su Yi’an lowered her eyes and played with Lan Yan’s fingers. “I was just saying, Sister.” If she had transmigrated back then without the constraints of a mission, she wouldn’t have actively sought her Sister out, so they wouldn’t have met anyway.
Lan Yan: “Alright then. How about I accompany you for one last class?” It wasn’t hard to grant the little Alpha’s wish.
Su Yi’an’s eyes brightened instantly, and she began eating much faster. The others noticed their whispered interactions but said nothing. He Xia wanted to make a comment, but her girlfriend pinched her, and she immediately behaved.
After lunch, Lan Yan and Su Yi’an walked into the laboratory hand-in-hand behind He Xia. Both were beautiful, and the other students couldn’t help but stare.
He Xia: “…Aunt Rabbit, didn’t you… withdraw?”
Su Yi’an’s eyes were full of smiles. “Sister is staying with me for a class, so I’m attending one last time.”
He Xia: “…” Fine. If the two Aunts are feeling whimsical, go ahead. She was just a little worried that the two would be so busy being lovey-dovey that they’d blow up the lab.
In reality, both were very serious. Once they put on their white coats, they looked like ordinary students. Su Yi’an guided Lan Yan hand-in-hand to complete the experiment. She didn’t even crack a smile the whole time, but He Xia, who watched them from time to time, felt like she was being force-fed a huge amount of “sugar.” She got so distracted that she exploded a test tube and was singled out for criticism by the teacher.
After leaving the lab, Su Yi’an was fully satisfied. She held her Sister’s hand as they walked along the wooded paths of the campus, telling her about her future plans—about her career, about children, and so much more. Lan Yan listened with a smile the whole time, though her face paled slightly at the mention of “children.”
Her Rabbit still hasn’t given up. What should she do? Should she ask her Second Brother to switch his research to finding a cure for sterilization? But that was clearly even harder than treating pheromone disorders…
Lan Yan was preoccupied with this thought, and Su Yi’an noticed. She asked, “Does Sister not like children? If you don’t, then we won’t have any.” She remembered her Sister seemed to like them before.
Looking at the disappointed little Alpha, Lan Yan’s pupils contracted slightly. “I like them. But Rabbit, what if… I’m just saying if… what if we can never have children?”
Su Yi’an suddenly realized: her Sister didn’t believe her when she said her glands were healed. According to the current medical science of this world, it truly was impossible. She couldn’t reveal the existence of the System, so her insistence was only causing her Sister anxiety.
Su Yi’an smiled brightly and reached out to brush a leaf off Lan Yan’s shoulder. “Then let’s just let nature take its course, alright, Sister?” She seemed completely unbothered by the issue of children. Her happiness was infectious; Lan Yan let the little Alpha lead her, the tenderness in her eyes becoming even more apparent under the sunlight.
Rabbit is right. Let nature take its course.
Before leaving the school, Su Yi’an received a piece of good news from her subordinates. Zhan Ming had decided to develop his career in the US, and with their help, his business was thriving. It was estimated that in less than a month, he would reach the milestone of his career path.
At that point, she wouldn’t have to do tasks anymore. Once the tasks were complete, the System would automatically depart. After the wedding, no one would be able to disturb her and her Sister.
The rest of their lives would be as brilliant as the sunshine at this very moment.
