The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 53
Chapter 53
Time flew by. As they approached Mt. Miao, Su Yi’an finally caught up with He Xia and the others’ car. However, before they could speak, a sudden thunderclap shook the sky, and a torrential downpour began. The rain blurred the windshield and the mountain roads were muddy and treacherous, forcing Su Yi’an to pull over. He Xia followed suit.
“Is Chen Zhi really that famous? I didn’t expect a top Alpha like her to come to a place like Mt. Miao,” Su Yi’an remarked, sounding casual. In reality, her heart was overflowing with “vinegar” (jealousy).
She asked this partly out of envy and partly to gauge Lan Yan’s reaction. Chen Zhi was reliable, but she was also a wildcard. Su Yi’an regretted recommending her to her “Sister’s” company; she was terrified that some chaotic move by Chen Zhi might push Lan Yan further away from her.
Lan Yin (the niece) joined the conversation excitedly. “Senior Su, don’t you know Movie Queen Chen? Those movie tickets I gave you were for her film. She’s incredibly popular with young people.” Lan Yin praised Chen Zhi’s “abstinent” aura and clean reputation. “Most Omegas feel very safe alone in a room with her.”
Lan Yan took a sip of water and chuckled at Su Yi’an’s “old soul” comment. Isn’t this little Alpha a ‘young person’ herself? Why talk as if she’s from a different generation? However, seeing Lan Yan smile, Su Yi’an completely misunderstood. She felt a wave of bitterness. What does Chen Zhi have that I don’t? I’m just as tall, my family is just as good, and I’m definitely more sincere!
“I heard,” Su Yi’an said, struggling to keep her tone neutral, “that the more ‘upright’ a person looks on the outside, the more of a playboy they are in private. I wonder if Chen Zhi is like that.”
Lan Yan stiffened. Upright but a playboy? Is she talking about me? Lan Yan had lived a very disciplined life, and except for her occasional “loss of control” with this little Alpha, she had never let anyone else touch her.
Lan Yin quickly defended her aunt (and her idol). “That’s not fair, Senior Su! Many people are exactly as they seem like my Little Aunt!”
Su Yi’an felt defeated. Even the niece is poisoned by Chen Zhi’s charm. And Sister isn’t saying anything… she must really like her. Distraught, Su Yi’an decided to give Lan Yan a “one-minute cold shoulder” in her mind.
But then, Lan Yan spoke up softly. “Lan Yin is right. I like Chen Zhi’s movies, but I don’t know her personally. As for being a playboy… well, I’m not with her, so it doesn’t matter to me.” She then scrutinized Su Yi’an. This little Alpha seems so pure, surely she isn’t a secret playgirl? No, her reactions are far too clumsy and natural for that.
Hearing this explanation, Su Yi’an’s “one-minute cold war” vanished instantly. “Which movie of hers is your favorite, Little Aunt?” she asked eagerly.
Lan Yan, slightly annoyed by being called “Little Aunt” again, replied vaguely, “The recent one.” In truth, she couldn’t even remember the title of the movie they had watched together she had been too busy being embarrassed by the couples kissing in the theater and her own subsequent kiss with Su Yi’an.
The rain stopped, and a rainbow appeared over the village at the foot of Mt. Miao. The village was picturesque, with stone paths and ancient-style houses. However, the heavy rain had made the mountain trails too wet for their planned camping trip.
“We can’t see the sunset today,” Lan Yin announced. “Let’s find an inn in town for the night.”
Lan Yan frowned at her phone. She was supposed to sign a contract with Chen Zhi on the mountain, but now that seemed impossible. Su Yi’an noticed her worry. “Is something wrong, Sister?”
Lan Yan shook her head, putting her phone away. She didn’t want work to ruin the trip.
As they walked, He Xia whispered to Lan Yin, “When did Little Aunt and Su Yi’an get so close? There’s a strange… intimacy between them.” Lan Yin tried to explain: “Maybe it’s because Little Aunt took her to the hospital last time?” They dismissed the thought, as they believed Lan Yan was into “mature women” and Su Yi’an already had a mysterious girlfriend.
The first inn they found was fully booked by a film crew likely Chen Zhi’s. Afraid of being caught on camera and exposed to her family, Su Yi’an quickly put on a mask. She then pulled out another mask from her bag this one had a Grey Wolf pattern and handed it to Lan Yan. Su Yi’an’s own mask had a Little White Rabbit on it.
“Sister, do you want to wear one?” Su Yi’an asked expectantly. A matching couple’s set!
Lan Yan looked at the wolf mask and felt a bit complicated. Is she implying I’m a ‘Big Bad Wolf’? Or is this a ‘Wolf Alpha and Rabbit Omega’ thing?
Before she could overthink it, He Xia ran over. “Oh! Masks! Give me one too, I hate the smell of the flowers in this town.”
Su Yi’an promptly pulled out a whole stack of masks with various animals tigers, cats, foxes.
Lan Yan gripped her wolf mask, feeling a bit silly for her earlier thoughts. I guess she just handed me a random one. There was no hidden meaning after all.
