The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 51
Chapter 51
“Mhm.”
Lan Yan’s face stiffened slightly as she responded to the greeting. To keep appearances in front of her niece, she addressed Su Yi’an formally as “Student Su.”
Su Yi’an felt a pang of irony she finally understood how Lan Yan felt being called “Little Aunt.” However, she quickly pulled out the box of egg pancakes she had bought. “Have you had breakfast? I bought enough for three.”
Lan Yin waved it off. “We’ve already eaten. Senior Su, you should eat…” Before she could finish, her cold-faced aunt actually nodded in agreement. Lan Yin was stunned; she realized she must have accidentally eaten the “special” breakfast meant for her aunt earlier, and now her aunt was actually willing to eat street food from her senior.
Su Yi’an leaned in and whispered to Lan Yan as she passed: “Sister, eat without worry.” She had guessed Lan Yan would give the first breakfast to the niece, so she had prepared this “backup” personally.
While Su Yi’an was in the restroom, her phone rang. it was Chen Zhi, the famous movie queen and Su’s close friend.
“Little Nun, I’m in Beijing! Where are you?” Chen Zhi’s voice boomed. “Busy,” Su Yi’an replied shortly.
Chen Zhi, who knew Su Yi’an’s secrets, teased her. “Are you at Lan Yin’s aunt’s place? I’ve been scouted by the Lan family for an endorsement. I’m choosing them for your sake.” She then revealed she would be at Mt. Miao at 6:00 PM to sign the contract with Lan Yan personally.
Su Yi’an felt a mix of relief and dread. Chen Zhi was a reliable ally but a chaotic “wingwoman” who loved drama. She warned her friend not to interfere. Su Yi’an wanted a sincere relationship with Lan Yan, not one built on business “schemes.”
Back in the living room, a heavy silence fell over the trio. To break the ice, Lan Yin asked if Su Yi’an had packed everything. Su Yi’an realized she had left her medicine and spare clothes behind in the rush to avoid Lan Yin earlier.
Lan Yan, sensing the girl’s anxiety, stood up. “I’ll go pack some things. You two sit.” She retreated to the bedroom, leaving the two students alone.
Lan Yin, unaware that the “Rabbit Aunt” she admired was the girl sitting next to her, tried to be a good host. She went to the fridge to wash some fruit.
Lan Yan sat down next to Su Yi’an. “Student Su, is your head hurting? You look pale.” She was being tactful, not wanting to mention the missed medicine in front of Lan Yin.
“No… a friend just messaged me,” Su Yi’an replied, her heart aching every time Lan Yan used that formal title.
Lan Yin returned with a bowl of grapes and apples. Su Yi’an began eating the grapes her favorite. Lan Yan also took a few, even though she usually disliked the scent of grapes (as it reminded her of her own pheromones).
“These are so sweet! Where did you get them?” Lan Yin asked. “Your Fourth Uncle sent them over,” Lan Yan replied.
Lan Yin felt a bit jealous that her uncle only gave the good stuff to her aunt, but Lan Yan quickly added, “I have plenty left. I don’t really like grapes, so let’s bring the rest to Mt. Miao for everyone.”
Su Yi’an stopped eating. She doesn’t like grapes? She remembered how the book mentioned Lan Yan hated her Omega nature and feared becoming an Alpha’s “possession.” Was her dislike of the fruit tied to her hatred of her own scent?
Lan Yan noticed the sudden change in the girl’s expression. “What’s wrong? Are they not good?”
