The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
“Don’t, Sister! After all, they are my Second Uncle and Second Aunt…”
Seeing that Lan Yan was about to call the police and that the crowd of onlookers was growing, Su Yi’an’s heart skipped a beat. Her right hand trembled as she pulled a few crumpled bills from her pocket and stuffed them into the hands of the middle-aged couple. “I… I’ll just give them the money.”
She had hired these actors for five hundred yuan; she couldn’t let the police get involved.
“Five hundred yuan? Five hundred doesn’t even cover our travel expenses! And you want to call the police? Pui! You dead girl, have you been bewitched by this woman? You just wait!”
The middle-aged couple, having snatched an extra five hundred, were delighted. They immediately caught the “boss’s” drift and hurried away, though they didn’t forget to stay in character until the very end.
Lan Yan put away her phone and moved to walk around Su Yi’an. She truly shouldn’t meddle in other people’s family affairs, even if she had felt a momentary softness seeing the girl on the verge of tears. Her company had an important meeting, and she had already wasted unnecessary time on this matter.
Su Yi’an didn’t expect this to immediately stop Lan Yan from signing an agreement with Zhan Ming. She only wanted to plant a seed in Lan Yan’s mind: that she was a simple girl in desperate need of money. After all, during their first meeting, she had experienced Lan Yan’s intense guardedness.
“Sister, why don’t you leave me your contact information? When I find another part-time job, I’ll pay you back for the jacket. I feel terrible for staining your clothes.” Su Yi’an chased after her, offering a piece of paper and a pen with a look of apprehension.
Her phone was a luxury model that an expert would recognize at a glance, so she couldn’t take it out. The paper and pen were borrowed from a student.
Lan Yan paused and looked at her steadily for a moment. Seeing that flushed, seemingly sincere face, she strangely didn’t refuse. She usually claimed not to care about looks, but subconsciously, she still preferred beautiful people. If she had encountered a middle-aged slob today, she wouldn’t have been so easy to talk to.
Lan Yan took the pen and scribbled her name and a string of numbers. Her handwriting was vigorous and powerful, yet restrained—just like her.
“Thank you, Sister!” Su Yi’an’s heart fluttered like a trapped bird. The paper in her pocket felt as if it were stained with the sweetness of grapes. She suddenly felt parched and wanted to “eat grapes” again. Her gaze swept over the soft fragrance she had tasted last night before she hurriedly looked away.
Lan Yan, however, thought she was worried about money and let out a rare, faint smile. “Don’t worry. This jacket is a knock-off, only worth… twenty yuan. Go on back now. If your uncle and aunt see you again, they’ll just cause more trouble!”
If she didn’t let the girl do something, she seemed unable to be at peace. But if she asked for too much, the girl couldn’t afford it. Quite a troublesome situation. But at least she’s not annoying, Lan Yan thought.
Su Yi’an froze, nearly laughing out loud, but she caught herself in time. Twenty yuan? You couldn’t even buy the scraps with ten yuan. The set she just bought from the street stall cost sixty. A custom-made suit like the one Lan Yan was wearing cost at least five figures.
President Lan was even using “Second Uncle and Second Aunt” to scare her… How can she be this cute! Su Yi’an screamed internally.
The system was in tears: “Host, do you remember your mission? Two days ago, you called her an old woman, said she was an old cow eating tender grass, and that she was shameless and deserved to be struck by lightning!”
Su Yi’an adopted a serious face instantly. “Did I? You have a bad memory, your positioning is off, and you can’t remember the plot. Now you’re misquoting me too. You’re only good for crying. Go on, cry!”
The system wailed even louder. It was just a baby system that had just started its first mission, but it definitely didn’t misquote her! The host was a bully!
Lan Yan left in a hurry, and the scent of grapes faded. To avoid exposure, Su Yi’an resisted looking at Lan Yan’s departing back. Only after the system confirmed Lan Yan had completely left the area did she walk into the morning tea shop.
At this point, Zhan Ming had finished his breakfast. He was asking the server to box up the leftovers to eat later at school. A shadow fell over him, and Zhan Ming looked up.
This tea shop was a favorite for wealthy students. Looking at this female Alpha’s attire—though it was very “student-like”—she didn’t look like she could afford this place, and she was excessively beautiful. The Alpha’s pheromones, a scent of mango with a hint of alcohol, were pungent, making him instinctively dislike her. Alpha pheromones naturally repelled each other, not to mention he was allergic to mangoes.
But Zhan Ming had always lived by the principle of not bothering others if they didn’t bother him. He asked politely, “Are you dining here, classmate? Please wait a moment, I’ll be leaving as soon as I finish packing.”
Su Yi’an shook her head and sat down directly across from him—the same seat Lan Yan had just occupied. She took off her glasses and got straight to the point: “I’m your Great-aunt!”
Great-aunt? He only had one Great-aunt, who was only a few years older than him. When his family hadn’t gone bankrupt yet, they had met once, but he couldn’t stand that arrogant relative. The last time they met was the day of the bankruptcy last year. She had traveled from abroad solely to demand his family’s ancestral Blood Jade and even threatened him. Their relationship was mutually hostile.
Looking closely at the woman’s features, she did look like her. However, since she wasn’t wearing heavy makeup like last time, he hadn’t recognized her at first. And wasn’t her pheromone scent pure alcohol? Why was there such a strong mango smell now? And her clothes… they looked like they came from the “Everything for 10 Yuan” shop.
Zhan Ming’s expression shifted rapidly. “What do you want? Did your family go bankrupt too?” Because I’d be happy if you did, he thought.
Su Yi’an: “…I’m here to help you!” It seems this outfit is very effective.
“Sir, your pastries are ready!” The server handed the box to Zhan Ming.
“Thanks.” Zhan Ming took the box, gave a fake smile in front of the server, and said to Su Yi’an, “If you’re here to complain about your misery, I might actually be in a better mood.” He turned to leave.
Su Yi’an narrowed her eyes. She wasn’t angry; instead, she said leisurely, “Nephew, now that you’ve found a ‘sugar mommy,’ you don’t need your Great-aunt anymore?”
That light sentence turned Zhan Ming’s face dark. He sat back down and lowered his voice: “What exactly do you want, Great-aunt!” He practically spat out the last two words.
Such a thing was a humiliation for an Alpha. Hearing it from her made him feel both furious and powerless. In the end, he was simply too weak.
Su Yi’an wore a faint smile and didn’t answer. Instead, she signaled the server: “Two more servings of your signature tea, please. Thank you.”
Then, as if by magic, she produced a lady’s cigarette and lit it, blowing out a cloud of smoke. Her entire aura shifted—she looked like a natural queen, a completely different person from the girl outside.
