The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 46
Chapter 46
Su Yi’an stood before Lan Yan’s bedroom door, hand raised to knock. Her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but she ultimately lowered her hand. After staring blankly at the cold door for a long time, she returned to the guest room in defeat.
Lying in bed, she turned on her side, trying to see through the wall. However, there was nothing but the hollow silence of the room.
Maybe I should find a way to apologize to Sister tomorrow morning, she thought. Though she didn’t believe she had done anything “wrong” tonight at most, she was a bit aggressive it was salvageable. Her sister had suddenly retreated to her room and ignored her; she was likely angry.
As Su Yi’an’s mind raced, a dull throb radiated from the back of her head. She hadn’t noticed it before, but now the pain was enough to banish any sleepiness. She reached back and felt a distinct lump. Pressing it caused a sharp wince.
Instead of being upset, Su Yi’an’s eyes lit up with a mischievous glint. She bolted upright and walked back to Lan Yan’s door. This time, she didn’t hesitate. She knocked and called out, “Sister…”
Lan Yan was a slow bather. She had been in the shower for twenty minutes and was just applying body wash when she heard the knock and the young Alpha’s voice. Despite the sound of running water, the voice was clear, suggesting an emergency.
Lan Yan didn’t stop to think. She quickly rinsed off, dried herself, threw on a silk robe, and hurried out.
In reality, Su Yi’an had only knocked once. Seeing no response, she assumed her sister was asleep. Though disappointed, she didn’t want to disturb her further. But as she turned to leave, the door swung open, revealing Lan Yan, shrouded in a light mist of steam.
“What happened?” Lan Yan asked.
So she was bathing, Su Yi’an realized. No wonder she had left so hurriedly. Seeing how quickly her sister had come out, she probably wasn’t as angry as Su Yi’an had feared.
Su Yi’an’s gaze swept over her and inadvertently caught something she shouldn’t have. Her sister wasn’t wearing underwear under the robe; the silhouettes visible through the thin fabric were enough to scramble any Alpha’s focus.
Su Yi’an’s eyes flickered, and she quickly looked away, her voice turning slightly husky. “My head feels uncomfortable. I wanted Sister to see if it’s swollen.”
She wasn’t being a saint; she was just afraid that if she looked too long, she wouldn’t be able to keep her hands to herself. She had to take things step by step unless a perfect opportunity presented itself.
Lan Yan, unaware of her own state, grew tense at the mention of the injury. She grabbed Su Yi’an’s hand without thinking. “Come here.”
She knew that thud earlier was too loud for there to be “nothing wrong.” If she hadn’t been momentarily distracted by the Alpha’s beauty, she wouldn’t have left so hurriedly without checking.
Lan Yan leaned in close, gently parting the Alpha’s long hair. When she saw the prominent swelling, she felt a mix of annoyance and heartache. She knew this girl hated hospitals and had a strong sense of pride, but she shouldn’t have listened to her. If it was this swollen on the surface, who knew what it was like inside?
Su Yi’an leaned back, enjoying the sensation of her sister’s hands in her hair. She felt the warmth of Lan Yan’s breath and the faint scent of grapes—it felt as if her sister were embracing her from behind.
However, the bliss was short-lived. Lan Yan began pulling her toward the door. “We’re going to the hospital.”
Her voice was cool, but there was a slight tremor in it. Su Yi’an froze, her hair standing on end. She hated hospitals. Besides, they couldn’t go out dressed like this. She could barely handle looking at her sister in a robe—she certainly couldn’t let anyone else see her like that.
Su Yi’an braced her legs, refusing to budge. “Sister, it doesn’t hurt anymore. Let’s just apply some medicine. If it’s not better by tomorrow, I’ll let Dr. Jiang look at it.”
Lan Yan sighed, her heart softening at the Alpha’s pleading look. Remembering how much the girl feared needles, she finally compromised. “Sit on the sofa. I’ll apply the medicine for you.”
Lan Yan kept a cold expression, but her movements were incredibly gentle. The medicine felt cool against Su Yi’an’s skin, a sharp contrast to the heat rising in her heart.
As the scent of grapes swirled around her, Su Yi’an only had one thought: I want to kiss her.
When Lan Yan finished and said “All done,” Su Yi’an instinctively turned around. Because they were so close, her lips brushed against Lan Yan’s cheek.
The atmosphere froze. A stifling heat began to flow between them. Their pupils dilated as they looked at each other, the rest of the world fading away. Seeing that Lan Yan didn’t pull away, Su Yi’an’s brain—and body—moved at light speed. Before she knew it, she had pressed her sister back against the sofa.
What started as a “just one kiss” thought turned into a deep, consuming embrace. Her hands began to wander toward the tie of the silk robe.
“Sister… can I? Please…” Su Yi’an whispered into her ear, her eyes red and her brow damp with sweat. She couldn’t hold back anymore.
Both were intoxicated by their mingling pheromones grapes and wine. The room’s ventilation system had even automatically activated to clear the heavy scent. Even in her daze, Su Yi’an didn’t forget to ask for consent. She respected her.
Lan Yan’s mind was blank. She didn’t quite hear what the Alpha was saying, but she didn’t hate the kiss. In fact, she liked it. Her lack of resistance was taken as permission.
Su Yi’an was ecstatic. She kissed her neck and pulled at the robe’s belt, letting it fall open to reveal a more beautiful “view.”
However, just as the scenery was half-revealed, an impossibly loud ringtone blasted from Lan Yan’s phone on the table.
Both froze. The temperature plummeted. It was no longer the time.
Lan Yan snapped back to reality. She looked at the hand on her body that didn’t belong to her, her eyes misty and her breath shallow. She said nothing, but her look was clear. Su Yi’an sheepishly withdrew her hand.
“I was wrong. I’m sorry, Sister.” (But I’ll do it again next time, she thought bitterly).
She was furious at the phone. If her glands weren’t already acting up, she feared this kind of frustration would ruin her for good.
Lan Yan sat up, tied her robe, and checked her phone. “It’s late. Go rest. Try not to touch the wound.”
The call was from Jiang Mu. When Lan Yan answered, a drunken voice shouted, “Lan Lan! Come drink with me! Find me some Alphas! I want to enjoy life! I want to take revenge on that dog of a man!”
Lan Yan narrowed her eyes. “No more drinking. Go to sleep!”
The next morning, Su Yi’an woke up at 10:00 AM after a “very good” dream involving that same sofa. She found a note from Lan Yan on the coffee table under a spare set of keys.
“Here is a spare key. Eat something when you wake up and go back to school. I’ll find you after work to have Dr. Jiang check your wound.”
Su Yi’an beamed. Her sister gave her a spare key—this meant there was a place for her in Lan Yan’s heart. She carefully folded the paper and tucked it away.
Meanwhile, at the Lan Group headquarters, Lan Yan was struggling. Even with heavy makeup, she couldn’t hide the dark circles or her exhaustion.
Her secretary watched her with a mix of shock and concern. As she reported, her eyes kept drifting to Lan Yan’s neck. There was a deep red mark there a “hickey” that no one could mistake.
So President Shen is seeing someone… and that Alpha is quite aggressive, the secretary thought, feeling a bit protective of her “delicate” boss.
“President Lan,” the secretary whispered before leaving, “Your neck.”
Lan Yan froze. She rushed to the office bathroom and looked in the mirror. On the left side, barely hidden by her collar and hair, was a mark left by the Alpha’s teeth from last night.
Her face turned bright red. She hated having her private life on display. That young Alpha had been so reckless leaving marks in places that couldn’t be hidden, and even some in places that were hidden (like the finger marks on her chest).
She applied several layers of powder until it was invisible before stepping out for lunch. As she entered the cafeteria, she overheard two employees from the design department gossiping.
“Don’t tell me you don’t believe it. Young girls all love the ‘Overbearing CEO’ type. You know, like a wall-slam (kabedon)…”
Lan Yan usually didn’t care for gossip, but for some reason, she found herself prickling her ears to listen.
