The CEO Omega’s 'Soft Rice' Alpha - Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Lan Yan had lived alone for years; it was impossible for such items to be in her home. Therefore, the only logical explanation was that the “innocent” little girl had brought them.
In an instant, her mind raced. She scrutinized every detail from their first meeting to today. On the surface, nothing seemed out of place, but that perfect alignment was exactly what made it suspicious.
Perhaps Su Yi’an had pried information about her net worth from Lan Yin and designed this approach step by step?
But for what? Money? Su Yi’an never seemed particularly obsessed with wealth. Thus far, the girl hadn’t harmed her. If it was just for money, would anyone pay the price of permanent sterilization? That seemed too steep. If she truly intended to scheme against her, wouldn’t it be more profitable to try and conceive a child?
Lan Yan trusted Jiang Mu’s professional medical opinion, so she didn’t doubt the authenticity of Su Yi’an’s injury. This was the source of her internal conflict.
Lost in thought, Lan Yan suddenly looked up and saw Su Yi’an standing by the door. Her irritation flared instantly. “Get out.”
Regardless of whether the Alpha was scheming, Lan Yan hadn’t even finished dressing yet.
Su Yi’an turned immediately. After two steps, she paused. “I need my bag.” She said it simply, explaining why she had re-entered the room.
Her voice was steady, but her trembling fingertips betrayed her inner turmoil. I knew I forgot something today. He Xia is going to be the death of me.
Think about it: how could a “pure” Alpha, upon being asked out by an Omega, prepare such things in advance unless she had specific intentions for the night? Sister Grape must suspect her now.
She blamed herself for being too worried about Sister Grape; in her haste, she had completely forgotten about the bag’s contents. She shouldn’t have rushed in without knocking. Now, Sister was definitely angrier.
Even though Su Yi’an wanted to bash He Xia’s head in, she forced herself to stay calm and find a solution.
“Wait.”
Lan Yan fastened her shirt, buttoning it to the very top to hide all the marks. she stopped Su Yi’an. “Your things? Explain.”
Su Yi’an was right; Lan Yan was furious. If not for her remaining shred of rationality, she would have terminated the agreement on the spot and made the girl pay. It was only her upbringing that kept her from exploding.
Lan Yan didn’t state it explicitly, but Su Yi’an knew exactly what she was referring to.
“Yes.”
Su Yi’an turned back, glancing at the two boxes resting on the black plastic bag. She looked as if she wanted to say something, but in the end, she swallowed her words. For someone like Sister, sometimes silence is more effective than an explanation.
Furthermore, she felt that the more she explained, the more counterproductive it would be. Sister might think she was lying. If she didn’t explain, Sister would investigate on her own, and people always trust what they discover themselves. Once Sister found the truth, she would feel even more guilty, which would only bring them closer.
Now that Lan Yan was fully dressed, Su Yi’an didn’t look away. She knelt silently, gathered the offending items into her bag, and stood up. “Regardless, I offended Sister today. You can punish me however you wish. I don’t want a single cent of the money you gave me.”
Su Yi’an slung her backpack over her shoulder and walked out of the bedroom. Her silhouette looked incredibly lonely, as if she were bearing the weight of the world alone.
Lan Yan took a deep breath, grabbed her phone, and sent a message. If Su Yi’an had explained—even if she claimed someone else gave them to her—Lan Yan’s heart wouldn’t be this heavy. That “bottled-up” silence, like a silent admission of guilt, made Lan Yan feel strangely as if she were the one doing the wronging.
Better to investigate. If the girl was truly innocent, she would find a way to compensate her.
Lan Yan finished tidying herself and walked into the living room. Seeing Su Yi’an sitting alone on the sofa, head bowed in thought, her anger softened. It was hard to stay truly furious at such a well-behaved and beautiful girl—even if that behavior might be a calculated facade.
Lan Yan hesitated, her lips parting to speak. But Su Yi’an beat her to it, pulling out the original signed agreement. “I’m sorry, Sister. I couldn’t control myself today. It’s my fault. If you want to cancel the agreement, I…”
Lan Yan saw Su Yi’an’s hand gripping the paper was visibly shaking. Her mind flashed back to the “ferocious yet clearly inexperienced” girl from moments ago. That clumsy, raw reaction… surely that couldn’t be faked?
Wait—the girl’s hands were quite large. Despite being years younger, her hands were significantly bigger than Lan Yan’s. It was a good thing she’d woken up in time, or else…
Wait, what am I thinking?
Lan Yan’s face stiffened. She looked away and spoke in a low, stern voice. “What are you doing?”
She hadn’t even said she was going to do anything to her yet. And besides, who carries a contract around with them everywhere?
Aside from those mysterious boxes, she couldn’t really fault the girl for anything today. After all, Lan Yan was the one who initiated it, and she was the one who had Jiang Mu bring her over. There were too many holes in the “scheme” theory anyway: if Su Yi’an had planned this, why didn’t she actually use the items? And given her injury, she couldn’t get Lan Yan pregnant anyway, making the items redundant.
Su Yi’an’s attitude made Lan Yan suspect there was more to the story. She had already ordered a check; for a minor detail like this, she’d have the truth in thirty minutes.
Honestly, Lan Yan had never seen anyone so eager to be punished.
Su Yi’an gripped the agreement, her voice tinged with a slight sob. “It’s my fault. I’ve failed Sister.” Clearly, she didn’t want to cancel the contract.
Lan Yan’s heart twinged. She didn’t take the paper. Instead, she headed toward the bathroom. “We’ll talk about this in a moment. I’m going to shower.”
She didn’t want to wrong an innocent girl, but she didn’t want a schemer by her side either. By the time she finished her shower, she would have the facts.
Su Yi’an watched her go, a tiny smile playing on her lips. Her hand stopped shaking.
The System was awestruck: “Host, you truly deserve the hidden achievement ‘Master Actress.’ Even I couldn’t tell what you were doing.”
Su Yi’an’s smile vanished, replaced by the depth of a calculated adult. She looked like a different person. “Little Crybaby, why would I want a ‘baby’ like you to understand?”
She wasn’t faking her feelings for Sister Grape, though. She had lost control, and that was a mistake. She just used a little bit of “strategy” to handle the fallout. The boxes really had nothing to do with her; her original plan was just to get a kiss. Today was an unexpected bonus. Letting Sister find out the truth herself wasn’t too much to ask, was it?
What bad intentions could a ‘Little Nun’ have? She just wants to be close to her Sister.
The System was speechless, beginning to wonder if it was just too dumb to keep up.
Jiang Mu had been waiting in the car for over half an hour. Having eaten his fill, he almost fell asleep. He checked the time, grabbed the food he bought for them, and headed to the elevator.
Maybe they forgot about me because of all the physical exertion, he thought. If the mountain won’t come to me, I’ll go to the mountain. Lan Lan must be lucid by now; she wouldn’t let the Alpha run wild forever. Honestly, he was a bit worried about her physical state and needed to see for himself.
Ten minutes later, Jiang Mu rang the bell.
Su Yi’an opened the door, looking relatively normal. The apartment smelled faintly of fermented wine and grapes—typical after a marking. What was strange, however, was the lack of other scents. Usually, a marking involved “other activities” to ease the pain. Were these two really that stiff and traditional?
“Where’s Lan Lan?” Jiang Mu asked, noticing Su Yi’an was alone in the living room.
Just then, Lan Yan walked out of the bathroom, damp and shrouded in mist. She ignored Jiang Mu entirely and looked straight at Su Yi’an. “Come with me.”
Jiang Mu watched as they disappeared into the bedroom, the door clicking shut. He felt this was highly unreasonable. Are they going to do it again right in front of me? Has Lan Lan lost her mind?
