When Xu Qiduo emerged from a comfortable, refreshing shower, Zhou Mengxing was sitting at his desk watching a movie.

His roommate, Feng Chunming, poked his head down from the top bunk and teased, “Yo, my brother Zhou has swapped boyfriends. That little freshman looks pretty…”

Feng Chunming gave Xu Qiduo a thumbs-up.

“Get out of here. No, no, he is my… my brother,” Xu Qiduo paused and explained.

“A brother? Which good brother of yours is this?” Xu Qiduo had spent the last few years chasing after Wang Shuo in such earth-shattering fashion that everyone in the dorm naturally knew his sexual orientation. Bringing back an unfamiliar underclassman so abruptly was bound to cause misunderstandings for anyone.

“He’s from my Second Dad’s side. We live together. Not that kind of good brother, he’s a real brother.” Xu Qiduo could only explain it this way.

“Alright, alright, a real brother, a real brother.” Roommate Feng Chunming stopped prying and lay back down on his bed. “I’m going to catnap for a bit. I have a professional class this afternoon, so keep it down, you two brothers.”

Clearly, Feng Chunming didn’t believe a word of it.

“Do you have classes this afternoon?” To Xu Qiduo’s surprise, Zhou Mengxing took the initiative to speak to him.

“Nope.” Xu Qiduo shook his head.

“Then shall we go to the supermarket? I want to buy some things.”

This sudden reversal in Zhou Mengxing’s attitude left Xu Qiduo feeling extremely uncomfortable.

He even stood there in a daze for a moment before agreeing.

After Xu Qiduo blew-dry his hair, the two of them left the dormitory.

To be honest, Xu Qiduo’s attitude toward Zhou Mengxing had merely been out of polite convention; after all, in a certain sense, they could be considered family.

Once they went home, they would see each other constantly. Exchanging a few words, like before, with one asking and the other answering, felt like enough to him.

He first bought two cups of milk tea to share, then grabbed a shopping cart and headed straight into the supermarket. Zhou Mengxing’s suggestion came at a great time, as his snack stash was indeed running empty and needed restocking.

As for why Zhou Mengxing’s attitude had undergone such a change, it was because he had looked over the other’s desk.

Prompted by Xu Qiduo’s previous retaliation regarding his own actions, Zhou Mengxing had pulled open Xu Qiduo’s cabinet and even recorded a video.

The loft-style dorm setups with desks underneath were identical for everyone, but what differed were personal living habits.

The topmost small compartment in Xu Qiduo’s cabinet held a storage box containing various snacks. The middle compartment had a few folded changes of clothes. In the largest compartment at the bottom, Xu Qiduo had hung up several jackets and pairs of pants.

The shoes under the desk were neatly arranged, and although the textbooks on the desktop were somewhat messy, it was clear they were frequently used.

The drawer contained a pack of tissues, two pens, and a box of preserved plums that wasn’t finished yet.

He had even browsed through Xu Qiduo’s computer. From frequently used programs to browser searches and deleted browser history, Zhou Mengxing had checked it all.

It had even made him chuckle.
