- Chapter 27 - Cannon Fodder Ex-Boyfriend 27, Do You Like It?
Jiang Siran looked up at Li Qingran in a daze, seemingly unable to process his words.
“Me? I help you?”
“Yes.” Li Qingran nodded, his grey eyes still a deep, dark shade. He curled his lips at Jiang Siran and lightly licked his own, then continued, “I don’t have much experience in this area. I don’t know how to punish someone. Do you?”
Of course, he knew.
Before he became an adult, before he had the power to escape that family, he had seen all sorts of ways to punish a person.
Being locked in a room without food or water, kneeling in the courtyard while being whipped, running barefoot outside in the dead of winter. Each memory, long sealed away by Jiang Siran, was hooked back into his mind by Li Qingran’s simple sentence. Like ghosts, they began to entwine around him once more.
Jiang Siran’s fingertips began to tremble uncontrollably. In truth, he didn’t like those methods, nor did he want Li Qingran to punish him the way those people had.
But, he had indeed done something wrong. And in his understanding, those were the only forms of punishment that existed.
With his eyelashes lowered, Jiang Siran unconsciously bit his lip. “I, um,”
Before he could voice those nauseating methods, a cool finger suddenly pressed against the center of his lips.
Li Qingran used his hand to preemptively block whatever words Jiang Siran had that might ruin the atmosphere. Although he didn’t know what the Alpha had experienced before, or what kind of punishments he was thinking of, he could tell from the sudden pale look on his face that they weren’t exactly “mood-enhancing” methods.
Better not to say them then.
Li Qingran’s fingertip entered Jiang Siran’s mouth once again. He didn’t look at Jiang Siran’s eyes but focused intently on the Alpha’s slightly parted lips. His voice was soft and thin, yet it caused the Alpha’s lips to instinctively close around his fingertip the moment he spoke.
In the quiet, dim room, the grey-eyed youth’s voice rang out again.
“Do you know why I asked you to help me think of ways to punish you?”
Jiang Siran didn’t speak; he couldn’t.
The scent of ice and snow inside his mouth grew more intense. It traveled along the tip of his tongue and down into his throat, causing a burning sensation while making his heart beat even faster.
Jiang Siran’s Adam’s apple bobbed several times in quick, urgent swallows. Even so, the moment Li Qingran withdrew his finger, a transparent silver thread of saliva connected the Alpha’s lip to his fingertip.
“It’s because I don’t actually want to hurt you. At least, I don’t want this punishment to be an act that only makes you feel pain. Do you understand what I mean?”
Li Qingran’s gaze remained on Jiang Siran’s wet lips, his finger tapping them gently. Soon, the Alpha’s entire mouth was glistening.
His voice became increasingly gentle, the ends of his words curling upward like small hooks, grazing Jiang Siran’s eardrums and causing an itch that traveled from his ears straight to his heart.
Jiang Siran’s breathing became more labored. He stared fixedly at Li Qingran, a flush of excitement spreading from his eyes to the corners of his lids. His dark green eyes blazed with a dazzling light.
“So, you mean I can, I can play it a bit loose?”
“You can even push your luck a bit.” Li Qingran smiled, brushing the back of his hand against the other’s cheek. In the dim light, his grey eyes seemed to hide a pool of ink that wouldn’t dissolve.
“Outside of plots involving the main characters, you have a certain amount of free time.”
It sounded like freedom, but when was he ever without a main character by his side?
At the end of the day, he was still required to maintain his persona and was trapped by a plot that had deviated who knows where.
Li Qingran felt it was unfair. After all, these main characters could collapse or derail the plot whenever they pleased. Yet he not only had to refrain from breaking the plot himself but also had to clean up their messes. Because of this, his stay in this world was extended, making it impossible for him to “get off work.”
This was even more exhausting than when he was just a character in a game; at least then he had no self-awareness and didn’t have to think.
Having been suddenly pulled in by the system, Li Qingran naturally disliked this feeling of being restricted, of jumping from one pit into an even deeper one. He even suspected that if he unconditionally followed the mission requirements, he would be trapped forever in these small worlds, repeating boring, tedious plots with no real freedom.
That would be truly disgusting.
Following Jiang Siran’s lunging movement, Li Qingran leaned back against the sofa cushions. His grey eyes reflected the sudden flash of lightning outside the window, showing a mechanical, cold light.
So, he had changed his mind.
Li Qingran’s hand rested on Jiang Siran’s waist.
If before he had intended to do the missions properly under 888’s promises of rewards, hoping to earn enough points for a free and comfortable life, then now, after several failed attempts to “clock out” and seeing the plot derail repeatedly, he had abandoned the idea of being a model employee.
Being a good worker was useless; it only resulted in more overtime.
He might as well study the things 888 had let slip earlier. Since the plot was falling apart anyway, he would seek more benefits for himself.
Li Qingran was truly curious about that “senior task-taker” who had completely broken the plot. What kind of existence did they become in that mission world?
Li Qingran’s eyes flickered. As a thick scent of gunpowder approached, he slightly parted his lips. While his grey eyes curved, the Alpha canines, symbols of marking and possession, were revealed by his own choice for the first time.
“Have you thought of how you want me to punish you?” Li Qingran looked at the man above him.
“I have.” Jiang Siran pressed his hands on either side of Li Qingran’s head. His voice sounded steady, but Li Qingran could tell from his rigid posture that he was excited to the extreme.
He watched as Jiang Siran pressed down on him, their broad chests held tightly together. The gunpowder-scented pheromones surged toward him aggressively, occupying every inch of air and attempting to wrap him up completely, to hide him away.
“So, what is the method?”
Li Qingran tilted his head back, allowing Jiang Siran to leave a wet, red mark on his neck. In a place he couldn’t see, the youth pinned to the sofa by the strong Alpha narrowed his eyes. The flush on his cheeks had reached beneath his eyes and was spreading toward his temples. His grey eyes were covered in a hazy, watery mist.
He seemed completely bewitched by the gunpowder scent. His fair, slender fingers ran through the Alpha’s black hair, clenching and releasing, his fingertips revealing a trace of helplessness.
However, just as Jiang Siran was about to push further, a sudden pull and sharp pain on his scalp made him instinctively lift his head from Li Qingran’s shoulder.
In his dark green eyes, the Alpha lying on the sofa looked dazed, his face flushed. Two red “strawberries” had appeared on his fair neck, rising and falling with his breath. It made one want to lean down and taste if they were as sweet as imagined.
But Li Qingran didn’t give him the chance. He reached out and grabbed his chin.
“Is this the punishment you thought of?”
Well, obviously not.
Jiang Siran felt a bit guilty. He couldn’t really be blamed; Li Qingran’s words were just too seductive. The blood had rushed from one end of his body to the other, and he couldn’t help but pin him to the sofa.
Did I make him angry again?
Jiang Siran bit his lip. The gunpowder scent around him faded slightly, like a puppy drooping its ears. His dark green eyes held a look of caution.
“Do you, not like me doing this to you?”
The nature of an Alpha was to plunder and possess. Being pinned to a sofa by another Alpha without any resistance, it did sound quite unpleasant when he thought about it.
Realizing this, Jiang Siran immediately struggled to get off Li Qingran. However, a hand that had been climbing from his waist to his back suddenly exerted force, pressing him back down.
“Qingran?” Jiang Siran was confused by his attitude.
Li Qingran simply asked again, “What is the punishment you thought of?”
His hand continued up Jiang Siran’s back, passing over the muscle-bound shoulder blades and the vulnerable neck, until it stopped at a small patch of soft flesh hidden within the black hair.
He placed his thumb and index finger on it and ground down in a clockwise motion.
“Mmh!”
Almost instantly, Jiang Siran let out an involuntary muffled groan. His breathing became even more rapid, his chest heaving, and his black shirt pulled tight across his frame.
“Speak,” Li Qingran said.
His fingers remained on Jiang Siran’s gland, kneading it intermittently as if it were merely a small toy for him to play with or destroy at will.
Veins bulged uncontrollably on Jiang Siran’s neck, and his teeth clamped down hard on his lower lip. His black hair was damp with sweat, and a single stray lock clung to the corner of his eye, making his dark green eyes appear even more watery.
“How should I punish you?”
“Like… like this.”
“Does this count as a punishment to you?” Jiang Siran thought he heard Li Qingran let out a soft chuckle. That nonchalant voice seemed to come from far away. “Isn’t it a reward?”
“I…”
Jiang Siran was speechless.
It wasn’t because he couldn’t think of a reason to defend himself, but rather because at the moment he opened his mouth, a powerful wave of icy snow erupted from Li Qingran.
Those blizzard-like pheromones instantly invaded Jiang Siran, leaving him completely unable to speak. The Alpha’s breathing grew increasingly heavy. Jiang Siran tried desperately to draw oxygen from the air, but what entered his trachea and flowed into his blood was only that icy Alpha pheromone that his body instinctively rejected.
It was as if a heavy snow had fallen inside the room. The sudden drop in temperature made Jiang Siran’s body tremble, yet his blood was boiling. Stimulated by the pheromones, his throat felt hot and itchy, forcing him to open his mouth in search of something to quench the thirst in his throat. However, all he received in return was an even more intense taste of ice and snow.
Jiang Siran’s tongue was caught by Li Qingran. At some point, his cheek had slid from the Alpha’s chest down to his waist, his chin resting right at the boundary between the shirt and trousers. Jiang Siran watched as that grey line slid upward with the Alpha’s movements, revealing a section of a fair, firm, and narrow waist.
He heard the Alpha ask him again, “Is this the punishment you want?”
“No!”
This time, Jiang Siran finally found his voice. He said, “No, this isn’t the punishment I want.”
“Then what punishment do you want?”
The Alpha sitting on the sofa propped his head with one hand, looking down at him with lowered eyes. A flash of white light streaked past the window, illuminating his beautiful, indifferent face. For a fleeting moment, Jiang Siran felt as though he were looking at a god.
And he was the god’s most devout and loyal believer, the one who should accompany him most of all.
His fingertips trembled uncontrollably. The hand on his chin had been withdrawn by its owner, yet he still had the illusion of being controlled. Shackles seemed to trail from his chin down to his neck. With a metallic “click” echoing in Jiang Siran’s mind, his entire body slumped onto the floor beside the sofa.
He pressed his face tightly against the Alpha’s exposed narrow waist, feeling the Alpha’s body heat transfer through the skin to his cheek.
His breathing became increasingly difficult, but the smile on his lips grew wider. He said, “I know how to punish myself now.”
Li Qingran raised an eyebrow and followed up on his words. “How?”
“Punish me by making me your exclusive Omega.” Jiang Siran looked up, longing and pleading like a devout believer kneeling before a god. “Is that okay, Qingran? Will you punish me like that?”
You were the one who said I could play it loose.
You were the one who said I could push my luck a bit more.
So, Qingran, let me be a little more out of line.
Jiang Siran’s hands gripped both sides of Li Qingran’s waist, and then he used his teeth to catch the grey fabric, inch by inch pulling it up. The Alpha’s firm abdominal muscles finally revealed their full glory before him.
His heart was so excited it felt as if it might jump out of his throat at any second. The fingertips he reached out to touch with trembled slightly. However, just as he was about to make contact with Li Qingran’s skin, Jiang Siran’s raised hand was suddenly caught by Li Qingran.
Jiang Siran looked up instinctively and saw the Alpha looking down at him with a disdainful glance. Then he spoke softly, his tone gentle, yet it made Jiang Siran submit reflexively, his brain becoming even more excited.
“Use your mouth,” he heard Li Qingran command.
Jiang Siran looked up, the cold pheromones falling around him like snowflakes, blending with the gunpowder scent on his body. It was like a spark falling into dry wood, instantly igniting a massive flame of desire.
Jiang Siran didn’t even have time to think; he pressed his burning lips directly onto the Alpha’s skin, which looked soft but was actually quite hard and firm.
Lips.
Tongue.
Teeth.
Jiang Siran recalled the films he had watched out of boredom. The performances he had once looked down upon now became the textbooks he worked hard to learn from. He learned as he practiced on the Alpha’s body like a clumsy student.
It was stumbling at first, but the process went relatively smoothly.
As the scent of ice and snow in the room grew heavier, the grey-eyed Alpha, who had been watching him nonchalantly, seemed unable to take it and leaned back against the sofa.
Li Qingran’s lips were slightly parted, his fingertips intertwined in Jiang Siran’s hair, pressing against his scalp as if in encouragement, making the Alpha kneeling on the floor work even harder.
“Do you like it?” Li Qingran heard him ask softly, his voice somewhat muffled because his mouth was occupied.
Li Qingran blinked, a trace of moisture overflowing from his eyes before disappearing at the corners.
Jiang Siran thought he heard him laugh, but it might have been an illusion from swallowing too much of the icy pheromone. His mouth was sore, and his vision began to blur. Then, before Jiang Siran completely lost his strength, he heard the Alpha speak calmly, his voice carrying a hint of hoarse desire.
“Are you asking me if I like this way of punishing you?”
The Alpha sat up again, his grey eyes covered by a hazy mist. For a moment, it was hard to tell if he was chasing the other through the fog or observing him from behind it.
Li Qingran took a deep breath, not answering Jiang Siran’s question.
He was just thinking that this pleasure, the rapid surge of adrenaline and the brain’s constant secretion of dopamine was addictive. No wonder 888 kept emphasizing to him that this kind of thing must never happen with the protagonist Shou, and that such plots should only occur between the protagonists.
This wasn’t a plot point a cannon fodder like him was supposed to experience.
But, why not?
Li Qingran blinked and lightly brushed his fingertip against Jiang Siran’s bulging cheek. His eyes held a sense of pleasure and excitement that had never appeared before.
The snow inside the room fell even harder, as if every molecule of air had been injected with cold factors.
Jiang Siran experienced that contradictory feeling of ice and fire once again. His cheeks grew increasingly sore, and his throat more parched. In the quiet room, only the sound of Jiang Siran’s rapid, heavy breathing remained. His dark green eyes were covered by a faint, hazy mist of moisture.
Jiang Siran felt as though he were in a dream. His body rose and fell, and even the chandelier above the sofa swayed along with him. His body felt waves of weakness, and then, just before he completely lost his strength.
“Mmh!”
The fingers behind Jiang Siran’s head suddenly tightened.
The gunpowder scent was once again scattered and suppressed by the heavy snow.
A white flower bloomed at the corner of Jiang Siran’s lips.
In a daze, he heard Li Qingran ask, “Do you like it?”
“My punishment for you, and your reward.”
