The Beautiful Wife I Picked Up Is A Little Mute - Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Taking You Out to Play
The atmosphere stagnated for a few seconds. Ji Hanyue rubbed the space between his brows. On his phone, Nie Xi had sent dozens of voice messages in one breath, accompanied by several identical emojis.
Nie Xi: “When are you getting here?” Nie Xi: “There’s only one small bottle of wine left. If you don’t come soon, I’m drinking it all.” Nie Xi: “Seriously, where the hell are you? Did you get into a car accident? Oh wait, bad luck, bad luck—no accident, scratch that.” Nie Xi: “My head is spinning. I think I’ve had too much. I’m going to sleep for a bit; wake me up when you arrive.” Nie Xi: “My brother won’t drink with me, and Ren Wen won’t either. They’re all waiting for you.” …
He could practically smell the alcohol through the screen. Disgusted, Ji Hanyue replied with a quick “be there soon” and exited the chat.
Looking closer, he saw an unread message from Kou Xingyu. Ji Hanyue found it hard to understand how a worthless Alpha like Tang Yingrui could be so well-liked. Xie Mo was one example, and even Kou Xingyu was a willing victim. Kou Xingyu was in his thirties; logically, he should have seen every type of person by now. Who would have thought he’d fall for such a bottom-tier Alpha?
Kou Xingyu: “Did you find him?” Ji Hanyue glanced at Xie Mo, who was staring out the window in silence. He replied simply: “Yeah.” “He’s alright, I assume?” “? Why are you asking so many details?”
Ji Hanyue didn’t really want to reply. Although Kou Xingyu had provided most of the help in finding Xie Mo, the root cause was Tang Yingrui’s lack of character and his unpaid gambling debts. It was only right for Kou Xingyu to help. Otherwise, Xie Mo wouldn’t have been dragged into this, and Ji Hanyue wouldn’t have had to run around in the middle of the night. If none of this had happened, he might have finished his drinks by now and be home holding Xie Mo in a peaceful sleep.
A few minutes later, the other side replied. Just as Ji Hanyue was about to impatiently turn off the screen, a sincere message arrived from Kou Xingyu: “This was my mistake. I forgot to bring the money on time, which led to that Omega getting hurt. It won’t happen again.”
Ji Hanyue: “…?” Shouldn’t you be saying you won’t let Tang Yingrui gamble anymore? Damn, Kou Xingyu really was crazy.
After deliberating for a moment, Ji Hanyue’s expression turned unnatural. He asked: “You didn’t know that guy had an Omega?” Kou Xingyu replied quickly: “I knew.” Before Ji Hanyue could respond, another message popped up, asking back: “If I’m not mistaken, you’ve taken a liking to that Omega.”
This statement left Ji Hanyue speechless. After a long pause, he replied viciously: “How is that the same? Xie Mo hasn’t been marked.”
The only son of the Ji family had been arrogant and spoiled for a long time; Kou Xingyu didn’t intend to argue with him. “By the same logic, I don’t touch anything ‘dirty’ either. I’ve taken Tang Yingrui to Z City. He won’t be back in A City for a while, so you can rest easy.” He then added: “If you have time, come find me at the Yuezhou Club in Z City. By the way, I heard Nie Chongshi is back in the country. Give him my regards.”
Looking at the long string of messages, Ji Hanyue chose to ignore them. He was annoyed to death.
…
Xie Mo stared at the neon lights blurring past the window. Belatedly, he gripped the hem of his shirt—his memory was excellent, and although he had only traveled this way a few times, it was deeply etched in his mind. This was not the route back to the villa. The sky was pitch black; where could they be going in the middle of the night?
He reached out to grab Ji Hanyue’s hand to write, but his waist was suddenly pulled tight. He lost his balance and toppled uncontrollably into Ji Hanyue’s embrace. Ji Hanyue easily scooped him onto his lap, his warm palm pressing against the boy’s thin back. He traced the protruding spine upward, following the winding curve all the way to the slender back of the neck. The scent-blocking patch was perfectly intact, except for a slightly curled edge. He finally breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness he had arrived in time.
Ji Hanyue’s fingertips applied slight pressure, pressing against the gland area. Unprepared, Xie Mo instinctively shrank forward, bumping into the Alpha’s chest, which smelled of Cypress. He shook his head, trembling as he tried to pull the Alpha’s meddling hand away.
“Are you afraid of me?” Ji Hanyue pinched the back of Xie Mo’s neck, forcing him to lift his head. Their foreheads touched, their warm breaths mingling in the tiny space between them.
How could Xie Mo not be afraid? Climbing through a window late at night, storming into a den full of gamblers to save him—any of these actions were staggering.
Ji Hanyue watched him for a moment, and his mood suddenly brightened. He felt that Xie Mo’s most captivating features were his eyes and his lips. The little mute couldn’t speak and was used to expressing emotions through his gaze. Right now, his eyes were misty, as if covered by a thin veil, making the emotions within them more intense than a normal person’s. And the lips… they were soft, making him want to kiss them.
Since he thought it, Ji Hanyue did it. He leaned in and bit Xie Mo’s pink lips. It was like biting into a jelly bean coated in powdered sugar. The soft, dense texture bloomed on his tongue. Ji Hanyue had originally intended to just have a taste, but it was like an addiction; he only wanted more.
As the kiss deepened, the temperature in the car rose, and their breathing became increasingly chaotic. Ji Hanyue narrowed his eyes, bracing the back of Xie Mo’s neck with one hand while holding his waist tight with the other. He pried open the boy’s teeth, hooking his tongue to suckle the sweet, nutmeg-like scent.
Xie Mo’s head was spinning. The Alpha’s kiss was too overwhelming; he even found it hard to breathe. He gripped Ji Hanyue’s shoulders tightly, forced to endure it, his face flushing red as if he might suffocate the next second. Despite this, he didn’t push away with force, allowing himself to be handled. Perhaps he knew he couldn’t afford the consequences of resisting.
The tires rolled over a sharp stone on the road, causing the car to jolt violently. Their lips broke apart, and Ji Hanyue reluctantly let go. Their noses were almost touching. As Ji Hanyue rubbed against him, he noticed that Xie Mo’s pupils weren’t purely black—instead, like a deep-sea vortex, they held a flickering hint of ghost-blue. Before he could look closer, the blue vanished.
Xie Mo finally managed to catch his breath. He closed his eyes and leaned against Ji Hanyue’s shoulder, his chest heaving. Warm breath puffed against the Alpha’s neck, and the skin there turned a faint crimson at a visible speed. Ji Hanyue’s breathing hitched; he was still craving more.
In the front seat, the assistant, Xia Yi, was debating whether to raise the privacy partition. Seeing the two separate through the rearview mirror, he gave up on the idea and tried to minimize his presence as much as possible.
The posture was uncomfortable, after all. Having regained some strength, Xie Mo wanted to write in Ji Hanyue’s palm. However, his fingertips touched not a hand, but a phone that had slid out of the Alpha’s pocket.
“I gave it to you, so keep it.” Xie Mo’s fingers curled, but he didn’t push it away. Ji Hanyue continued, “Don’t write in my palm or on my chest anymore. If you want to say something, type it on the phone and show me.”
Typing on a phone required unlocking it and opening the messaging app. Compared to that, wasn’t writing on a hand more convenient? The Alpha saw through his thoughts, leaned in, and whispered something in his ear. Xie Mo’s face, already red, turned a burning crimson that reached down to his neck. He scrambled off the Alpha’s lap and sat on the very edge of the seat half a meter away. He lowered his head and typed quickly, asking his first question: “Where are we going?”
Ji Hanyue, satisfied from the kiss, was in a better mood. “Taking you out to play.” Xie Mo didn’t respond, his fingers flying across the screen: “But it’s very late already.” Ji Hanyue glanced at him. “If you had listened to me, there wouldn’t be so many problems.”
