Chapter 16: Climbing into a Luxury Car in Pajamas
“Impossible!” Huo Yun was the first to object loudly. “If that monster really knew something, how could he have settled for simply moving out?”
“Exactly!” Huo’s second aunt added acidly, “Don’t let his usual gentle demeanor fool you. If there were really something wrong, do you think he’d let it slide so easily? Don’t forget, he’s Huo Fang’s son. That whole family is a pack of ungrateful wolves—keeping all the good stuff for themselves instead of sharing a bit with their own kin.”
At the mention of this, the second aunt’s reasonably attractive face twisted with rage. “Huo Fang, that deadbeat, was one thing, but we raised that monster for ten whole years! When Yun’er reached adulthood, he actually only gave him a 0.5% share. He’s holding onto so many shares himself, yet he only gave 0.5%? What a thankless wretch. If I’d known, I would’ve let him starve on the streets!”
Huo Yun was equally dissatisfied, gritting his teeth in hatred. “I don’t know what’s wrong with that monster lately. The other day, I asked him to meet my friends; he clearly agreed to it, but then he didn’t show up and didn’t even say a word. He made me lose face in front of all my friends. Damned thing!”
Huo’s second uncle opened his mouth, wanting to say that for a company as large as the Tingfang Group, a 0.5% share was actually a lot. But seeing how furious his wife and son were, he ultimately chose to keep quiet.
Although they always righteously claimed they were the ones who took Huo Yan in, he knew deep down that even without them, Huo Yan wouldn’t have starved. On the contrary, if it hadn’t been for Huo Yan these past few years, they wouldn’t be living such a carefree and comfortable life. However, knowing the truth was one thing; he still harbored a grudge against his brother, Huo Fang, for not leaving him any shares of the Tingfang Group.
After Huo Yun finished speaking, he felt a sudden pang of guilt.
He thought back to the words he’d impulsively blurted out in the private lounge that day. Could Li Peng and Jin Chao have gone to snitch to that monster?
But Huo Yun quickly dismissed the possibility. While Li Peng, Jin Chao, and that lot always flattered the monster to his face, they never dared to actually approach him on their own. There was no way they went to snitch!
The second aunt’s face hardened with malice. “Regardless of his reasons, the fact that we raised him for ten years is indisputable. He won’t answer his phone? Fine. We’ll go straight to his company to find him!”
Huo’s second uncle couldn’t help himself. “Is… is it really necessary to make things so ugly right now? Don’t forget our plan. We don’t want to lose the big picture for a small gain.”
The second aunt snapped back in her usual domineering, shrewish manner: “Then what else can we do? He won’t come home, and he won’t pick up the phone. Why don’t you give me a better idea then!”
The second uncle fell silent.
Despite living under the same roof for ten years, they actually knew very little about what Huo Yan did outside of working at the company. Huo Yan never proactively reported his movements to them; after all, he was an independent, mature, and steady adult.
The second aunt made the final decision spitefully: “It’s settled. We’re going to his company together later. I don’t believe for a second he can keep hiding from us!”
In his past life, Xu Jingchu had heard his older cousin, who was still in university, talk about many campus anecdotes, including various rumors on the school forums. He never expected that one day, he would become the protagonist of such gossip.
After Huo Yan took him out for breakfast this morning, he dropped him back at school. As soon as he returned to the dormitory, his upper-bunk roommate, Hao Nan, approached him with a strange expression. “Chu-chu, who was that man you were with? And why did you go out without changing your clothes?”
Xu Jingchu was still wearing those pale yellow pajamas, holding the warm milk Huo Yan had bought him. Hearing this, he froze. “How do you know who I was with?”
Hao Nan held up his phone. “Photos of you two have already spread all over the campus forum. Didn’t you know?” He then slapped his forehead. “Right, I almost forgot—you usually don’t check the forums.”
He opened his phone and handed it to Xu Jingchu. “Chu-chu, look!”
Xu Jingchu set the warm milk on his desk before reaching out to take the phone.
[A Sophomore Fine Arts Student from a Poor Background Climbs into a Luxury Car Early This Morning Wearing Pajamas]
On the A University campus forum, a massive headline was pinned at the top, exceptionally eye-catching. It was an anonymous post.
Hao Nan nudged him, “Click it, click it.”
Xu Jingchu’s fingertips slowly tapped the screen.
Below the headline were three photos. They were clearly of him and Huo Yan, though the man’s face was blurred out while his was not. One could sense the poster’s malice toward him just by looking at the photos.
The three photos showed: him and Huo Yan hugging, Huo Yan pulling him along, and Huo Yan opening the car door as he stepped inside. The background of every photo was the school gate. It was obvious they were taken surreptitiously when he and Huo Yan were outside the gates this morning.
Hao Nan urged, “Scroll down, scroll down.”
Xu Jingchu’s movements were a bit clumsy as he scrolled.
[OP:] I thought about it for a long time before deciding to post these photos. I mainly just can’t stand certain people who act all poor and frugal but their private lives are actually… I don’t dare say too much for fear of retaliation. Just look at the pictures, everyone.
In this day and age, even if the crowd isn’t given a single word, one picture is enough to spark infinite topics—let alone a post with such clear, suggestive implications. A “high-rise building” of comments had already formed under the post.
[Isn’t this XJC from the Fine Arts department? He’s an Omega, right? What is the OP trying to say?]
[It’s obvious he’s being kept by some old man!]
[Male college student performs a pajama-play with his sugar daddy at the school gate early in the morning! /doge]
[Pictures are proof, but I still can’t believe he’s that kind of person. He’s usually super low-key. He’s the gentlest, best-tempered Omega I’ve ever seen.]
[Upstairs, you simp, have you never seen an Omega? Given the situation in the photo, I don’t believe he hasn’t been f*cked. His glands might even be ruined.]
[This kind of thing is common, isn’t it? Is this post even worth pinning?]
[Anyway, why did the OP only blur out one person? The malice here is way too obvious.]
[Everyone is saying this and that, but couldn’t it just be someone’s boyfriend? The man in the photo is clearly an Alpha.]
[Requesting coordinates for the beauty in the photo. Want to ask how much for one night?]
[Thinking with your d*ck—aren’t you afraid of catching a disease?]
……
The comments below became increasingly unbearable to read. Xu Jingchu lost all desire to continue, handed the phone back to Hao Nan, and then opened his wardrobe to take out clothes to change into.
Hao Nan asked, “Chu-chu, are you okay?”
Xu Jingchu looked puzzled. “Why wouldn’t I be okay?”
Hao Nan choked. “You… they’re saying those things about you, aren’t you angry?”
“Hmm… I am a little angry.” Xu Jingchu thought about it and puffed out his cheeks. “Someone actually called Huo Yan an old man!”
Hao Nan: “…?”
