The Amnesiac Drama Queen Is Crashing the Live Stream - Chapter 15
Stellar Era was located in the southern district of Cloud City and was one of the properties under the Universal Group.
Unlike Blue Bay Residence, which occupied a large area and was built along the Second Ring Road, Stellar Era stood tall in the city’s prime commercial center, where land was worth its weight in gold.
The five high-rise buildings, each featuring single-floor units of 500 square meters, had been sold out even before construction began. Today, they were virtually unavailable on the market, no matter the price.
Both Xia Xingtang and Xia Qingyue owned apartments here. For convenience, they had specifically reserved two adjacent units on consecutive floors.
After her argument with Pei Luoqing that evening, Xia Xingtang drove straight to Stellar Era. However, she had no intention of returning to her own home.
For one, she wasn’t even sure which unit was hers, and secondly, she worried that her own apartment might be completely empty.
So, she waited pitifully at the entrance of the complex, hoping Xia Qingyue would come and “pick her up.”
Once she successfully moved into Xia Qingyue’s apartment, Xia Xingtang didn’t hold back. She picked the bedroom closest to Xia Qingyue’s, not wanting to walk several minutes just to raid her sister’s wardrobe.
When Xia Qingyue entered to deliver some items, the bedroom was already in complete disarray, courtesy of Xia Xingtang. The culprit herself was sprawled carelessly on the bed, not even bothering to take off her slippers.
Hugging a calming pillow worth tens of thousands, she buried her entire face in it. The light-green velvet duvet was tangled in a mess around her.
Her long black hair was strewn chaotically across the pillow, each strand seemingly with a mind of its own.
It was just like when they were children, whenever she felt the slightest bit wronged, she’d come to her sister’s place to wreak havoc.
Xia Qingyue turned off the main light and walked in quietly, sitting down by the bed.
Xia Xingtang had already drifted into a fitful sleep, her brow tightly furrowed. A soft whimper escaped her lips, revealing her unease even in her dreams.
Xia Qingyue gently brushed aside the stray strands of hair from her sister’s face. As her fingers grazed the corner of Xia Xingtang’s eye, she felt a trace of dampness.
She wondered just how much her Tangtang had been hurt.
Xia Xingtang settled into life at Xia Qingyue’s place, eating and drinking to her heart’s content, continuing her pampered, almost “pig-raising” lifestyle.
At first, Xia Qingyue didn’t press for details, giving her sister two days to sort out her emotions. It wasn’t until the third day, when she deliberately left work early, that she finally broached the subject.
Xia Xingtang had thought she no longer cared about Pei Luoqing’s broken promises or being treated as a mere tool or stepping stone.
That’s why, when Pei Luoqing sent her a WeChat message, she had petulantly transferred money in response, refusing to dignify the message with a single word.
But when Xia Qingyue asked, a wave of overwhelming sadness washed over her. “Sis.”
“Hmm, can you tell your sister now who bullied our Tangtang?” Xia Qingyue feigned ignorance, then pondered, “Was it Pei Luoqing?”
At the sound of that name, Xia Xingtang let out a heavy, disdainful “hmph,” her expression icy.
“Did you two have a fight?”
“No.”
“Pfft, it’s just a fight, isn’t it?” Xia Qingyue sprawled on the sofa like a bandit leader, declaring boldly, “Tell me, and I’ll stand up for you.”
“I…”
Xia Xingtang glanced at her sister’s demeanor and then thought about Pei Luoqing’s current situation. She swallowed her words.
Pei Luoqing had only co-invested in a few small companies with her, but Xia Qingyue was the executive chairman of the massive Universal Group.
Making trouble for Pei Luoqing would be all too easy.
Pei Luoqing was already working day and night for those measly companies. If they were suppressed, never mind, she was only worried about the losses to her own shares in the partnership.
Moreover, if Pei Luoqing were to truly rise to prominence in the future and seek revenge against the Xia family, the consequences would be difficult to manage.
Xia Qingyue had no idea what Xia Xingtang was thinking. She simply patted the crestfallen girl’s head as if petting a little puppy.
The one who usually refused to be touched now silently leaned her head against Xia Qingyue’s shoulder.
Xia Qingyue sighed inwardly. “What do you want for dinner? Should I take you out to eat?”
“I don’t want to go out. Going out means having to put on makeup and change clothes. Too much trouble.” Xia Xingtang wrapped her arms around Xia Qingyue’s waist, clinging to her like a spoiled child. “Sis, could you cook for me instead?”
“Didn’t you always say my cooking was terrible?”
“Not at all! I was just afraid you’d get too full of yourself.” Xia Xingtang nuzzled closer and praised, “Sis, your cooking is the best!”
“Then what do you want to eat?”
“I don’t know. Whatever you make, I’ll eat it.”
“You’re still just like when you were little.” Xia Qingyue smiled helplessly. “Alright, I’ll have someone deliver some ingredients. I’ll call you when it’s ready.”
“Mm.”
While Xia Xingtang returned to her room, Xia Qingyue finally received a call from Pei Luoqing.
After Lu Qi left the office, the documents in front of Pei Luoqing remained untouched for a long time.
For some reason, she found it unusually difficult to concentrate.
This was quite rare for her.
Whether during her student days or after graduating and joining Yunji, Pei Luoqing had always possessed remarkable self-discipline.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to seize complete control of Yunji in just three years.
Perhaps it was because she had just discussed Xia Xingtang with Lu Qi, but now Xia Xingtang’s image lingered in her mind, stubbornly refusing to fade.
This state persisted until the end of the workday. Finally, Pei Luoqing took out her phone and reached out to the one person she and Xia Xingtang had in common, Xia Qingyue.
“Well, well.” Xia Qingyue answered quickly. After picking up the call, she quickened her pace, and a door closing sound could be heard before she spoke formally. “What a surprise that such a busy person would call me. A rare guest indeed.”
“Is there a problem with the financing and development of Qinghai Bay? I was just about to discuss that with you. Oh, and about the Fengcheng project we talked about last time, Yongshen Energy is willing to offer 40% of their shares for a procurement exchange…”
Xia Qingyue didn’t give Pei Luoqing a chance to speak, bombarding her with a rapid-fire monologue before concluding, “Yunji shouldn’t have any issues with this, right? If there are no problems, our companies can discuss it further later.”
With that, she made as if to hang up.
“Xia Qingyue.” Pei Luoqing’s tone was firm. “Is Xia Xingtang with you?”
“Huh? What? Oh, are you talking about the Xinghua Hotel matter? So, you’re interested in that hotel too? But I think its return rate…”
“Xia Qingyue.” Pei Luoqing drawled lazily. “Are you so eager to chat with me because you secretly have a crush on me?”
Xia Qingyue: ???
Xia Qingyue’s mind flashed back to the night before Xia Xingtang lost her memory, when Xia Xingtang had suspected there was something going on between her and Pei Luoqing.
A truly horrifying thought.
Furious, she retorted, “Pei Luoqing, don’t flatter yourself. Who besides Tangtang would ever be interested in a scheming person like you? I’d rather jump from the 28th floor than be disgusted to death by you.”
“Oh, good.” Pei Luoqing breathed a sigh of relief. “So, Xia Xingtang is at Xingchen Huanian, right?”
Her tone was utterly infuriating.
It didn’t sound like she was asking for a favor at all.
“Alright, alright. Just by mentioning the twenty-eighth floor, you can guess where I am. Seems like you’re the one with ulterior motives towards me.”
Pei Luoqing replied, “I own a property on the twenty-seventh floor.”
It took Xia Qingyue a few seconds to process this: Wasn’t the owner of the twenty-seventh floor Xia Xingtang? Who gave Pei Luoqing the nerve to claim it as hers?
Disgusting couple, utterly shameless.
Gazing out at the bustling nightscape of Yuncheng, Xia Qingyue wondered why she had to be caught between these two. Impatiently, she laid out the facts:
“Tangtang is indeed here with me.”
“Nothing serious, though.”
“It’s just that she seems really upset.”
“All because of you.”
After she finished, Pei Luoqing fell silent on the other end of the line. After a moment, she asked, “Can I come over later?”
Xia Qingyue sighed. “She’s still not in a good mood. Come later.”
“Okay.” Pei Luoqing abruptly changed the subject, her tone returning to its earlier nonchalance. “Let’s discuss those work matters another day. There’s something important I need to ask you.”
“What is it?” Xia Qingyue frowned, assuming it was about some major collaboration. “What, are you putting those earlier matters aside? Do you have a better project in mind?”
After all, Huanyu and Yunji weren’t just top-tier companies in Yuncheng, they ranked among the best in the entire country. Any project Pei Luoqing specifically mentioned would undoubtedly be significant.
But the next moment, Pei Luoqing’s voice drifted calmly from the other end: “No, I just wanted to ask, what are Tangtang’s usual likes and preferences?”
Xia Qingyue: “…”
Xia Qingyue remained silent for a good ten seconds before she finally snapped back to reality.
Pei Luoqing and Xia Xingtang had been married for three whole years, and never once had Pei Luoqing inquired about Xia Xingtang’s preferences. Whenever she called, it was always about business collaborations.
Xia Qingyue had thought it was a miracle that Pei Luoqing had called today to ask about Xia Xingtang’s well-being.
But now, was Pei Luoqing actually starting to understand?
Xia Qingyue confirmed slowly, word by word, “So… this ‘important matter’ you mentioned is about what Tangtang likes?”
As she spoke, even she found it hard to believe. “You’re not asking about the 30-billion-yuan financing project in Qinghai Bay, or the 24-billion-yuan merger with Yongshen? Instead, you’re asking me about Tangtang’s preferences?”
“Hmm, isn’t it important?”
After hearing the answer, Xia Qingyue genuinely found it astonishing.
“Pei Luoqing, so even you have a day where beauty clouds your judgment.”
“Even with clouded judgment, my IQ is still higher than yours. Now answer my question.”
Xia Qingyue thought for a moment. “She doesn’t have any.”
Pei Luoqing mused, “What about in the arts? Like painting or musical instruments?”
“Do you really think Tangtang’s personality suits that kind of thing?” Xia Qingyue scoffed, mocking Pei Luoqing’s naivety. “You’d be better off just giving her money, it’s more practical.”
Without waiting for a reply, she hung up.
Then she turned around to cook for the eagerly waiting Xia Xingtang.
After dinner, the two sisters chatted for a while until Xia Xingtang grew drowsy and returned to her room.
She drifted into a heavy sleep.
Just before completely dozing off, Xia Xingtang vaguely sensed someone entering her room.
But she didn’t pay it much mind.
After all, Xia Qingyue always checked on her every night before bed. For someone only thirty years old, she acted like a worrywart mother.
This time, however, the figure seemed to linger by the bedside for a long while.
It wasn’t until daybreak that it completely vanished from her dreams.
