The Aloof Omega Caught the Eye of a Clingy Sweetheart - Chapter 19
When Jian Qiuyi said this, she completely failed to notice You Song’s expression and continued speaking on her own: “Yesterday, my mom called me home to set me up on a blind date.”
You Song looked at her with a dark expression: “A blind date with an Omega?”
“Exactly.” Jian Qiuyi stuffed her hands in her pockets and leaned against the car as she complained, “They introduced me to some so-called wealthy young lady. I lost interest the moment she opened her mouth, mumbling incoherently, barely reaching up to my chin, with those skinny arms and legs looking like a sickly chicken. One glance at her and I felt like I’d catch some disease.”
You Song remained silent. She could roughly imagine what kind of girl the Omega in question was.
Most Omegas were delicate timid, petite, speaking in soft tones, the picture of docile obedience.
Generally, such Omegas were quite endearing. Jian Qiuyi had only criticized the girl for being weak and timid without mocking her appearance, so she must have been a pretty little thing with a fragile demeanor. Yet in Jian Qiuyi’s words, she became a ‘sickly chicken.’
You Song herself was also an Omega. She didn’t dislike these gentle, delicate little Omegas, but Jian Qiuyi’s arrogance once again reminded her just how overbearing this freshly graduated alpha was.
If someone like this found out she was an Omega, it would undoubtedly cause a lot of trouble.
Though You Song had little interest in romance, if she had to choose, she preferred the company of intelligent people not some disrespectful hothead like the one standing before her.
“If you don’t like her, just tell her directly. There’s no need to gossip behind her back,” You Song said coldly, her expression stern as she glared at Jian Qiuyi. “And how can you be so sure she’d even be interested in you?”
Jian Qiuyi was taken aback by this.
Meeting her gaze, You Song continued in the same icy tone, “Is this how alphas casually slander others?”
Being scolded out of the blue left Jian Qiuyi momentarily stunned. She couldn’t understand why You Song was suddenly angry, she had only criticized her blind date. Didn’t that prove her feelings for You Song were genuine?
But somehow, it seemed she had said the wrong thing.
Regaining her composure, Jian Qiuyi retorted irritably, “I was just stating facts. I don’t like Omegas, they’re all just delicate, soft-bodied people who only know how to have children. What’s wrong with disliking that?”
“What others are like is their own business. Omegas aren’t born wanting to be Omegas. If you hate them so much, then stay away from them in the future. Don’t get close and then blame them for it.”
“You—!!”
Fuming, Jian Qiuyi glared at You Song, whose expression was equally unpleasant. It felt impossible to communicate with her every conversation ended in an argument. Clenching her jaw, she wordlessly yanked open the car door, slammed the accelerator, and sped off.
Watching her leave, You Song tightened her fists.
She had actually started to think Jian Qiuyi had improved over the past few days, even smiling at her. But now it was clear, Jian Qiuyi was still just a child, utterly immature.
Unable to control her emotions, completely incapable of taking responsibility.
How could You Song dare to be with someone like that? How could she ever reveal the truth about herself…
In a fit of anger, Jian Qiuyi drove off without going to work. She had no idea how You Song got to the office or how she explained her absence that day.
As she lay aimlessly on her living room carpet, a pang of regret suddenly hit her.
Back then, she had been too furious to consider why You Song had abruptly changed like that for no apparent reason.
Staring at the crystal-white ceiling, Jian Qiuyi couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
You Song wasn’t even an Omega, why would she defend some random Omega they’d never even met before?
And her attitude had been strange, as if Jian Qiuyi had stepped on her tail, making You Song bristle instantly.
Jian Qiuyi thought back. She remembered how You Song’s eyes had lit up the moment she spotted her downstairs, how she had walked over with a smile, her steps noticeably lighter.
You Song had clearly been in a good mood at the time. It was only after Jian Qiuyi started complaining that she suddenly turned hostile.
The more she thought about it, the less it made sense. You Song might usually speak sharply, as if biting bullets, but she never lost her temper without reason. Could she really have gotten angry just because Jian Qiuyi badmouthed that Omega?
That didn’t make sense.
Why would she?
Jian Qiuyi couldn’t figure it out, but she did realize that abandoning You Song and driving home had been wrong.
She was an assistant and a driver. No matter how big their argument, she should have still driven her boss to and from work.
Even if that weren’t the case, You Song wasn’t just anyone to her. What girlfriend wouldn’t get angry? And when she did, wasn’t the point to be comforted? Running away like that had been a mistake.
The more she dwelled on it, the clearer it became. Jian Qiuyi rolled over and got up from the carpet, startling Guazi, who was lounging nearby.
She then found her phone haphazardly tossed on the sofa, opened You Song’s chat window, and after a long pause, typed out a message:
Jian Qiuyi: Did you get to the office? About today, it was my fault. I shouldn’t have lost my temper, but you also shouldn’t have scolded me out of nowhere. We both messed up, but me saying I’d pick you up and then driving off was definitely wrong. I’m sorry.
After a moment’s hesitation, she added:
The reason I brought this up is that I don’t like Omegas. I like you. So, sis, don’t be mad, okay? I’ll come to the office this afternoon to apologize in person. Do you want flowers or milk tea?
Jian Qiuyi looked at the long message, satisfied that her apology was sincere enough, and hit send.
The next second, a notification popped up:

Jian Qiuyi: “…”
Jian Qiuyi: “?”
This woman had actually blocked her!
