The Aloof Beta Transmigrated as the Pretty Wife [Transmigration] - Chapter 25
Su Ren’s pale face flushed with a faint, indiscernible crimson, yet his eyes were strikingly red.
Xie Chouqiu pulled him entirely into his embrace, carefully shielding the leg where Su Ren’s trousers had been torn, exposing half of his calf.
His solid chest pressed against Su Ren’s thin back. Looking down, he saw Su Ren’s lowered lashes and tightly pressed lips, a sight of startling beauty.
Xie Chouqiu’s mind felt like a tangled mess. He watched as Su Ren knit his brows and asked softly, “What little rabbit?”
Xie Chouqiu’s heart hammered against his ribs. “What else could it be?”
Su Ren gave a thin, cold smile. “Oh, the one thumping around in your chest?”
Xie Chouqiu’s dazed gaze suddenly sharpened.
The dense muscle of his thigh abruptly pressed against the small of Su Ren’s back. He had intended to brush against Su Ren’s calf, but the keys in his pocket pressed into Su Ren’s tender skin instead. The atmosphere grew thick with an ambiguity that nearly brought the air to a standstill.
“Are you seducing me?” Xie Chouqiu asked, emphasizing every word.
“You’re overthinking things,” Su Ren replied icily.
Before they could finish their exchange, a man’s angry voice rang out from not far away:
“Is this really the time for a lovers’ tryst?”
Brother Mu’s voice wasn’t loud, but it had a piercing quality that cut through the crackling of burning wood, ensuring everyone present heard him clearly.
The sounds of the scuffle stopped abruptly. The troublemakers turned as one to look toward them. All the Alphas in business suits, wielding cold weapons, closed in to surround Xie Chouqiu and Su Ren.
Brother Mu dropped his polite facade, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Get lost right now, and I might just let you keep one of your legs.”
Xie Chouqiu looked up, letting out a low, magnetic chuckle of displeasure. “What was that?”
“A sissy pheromone like that, how much perfume did you have to mix in to come here and play the hero?”
Before he could finish his sentence!
A dagger suddenly lunged toward the center of Xie Chouqiu’s back without any warning!
As if he had eyes in the back of his head, Xie Chouqiu stepped aside and slammed his hand down. His speed was so terrifying that most people couldn’t even process what had happened. In the next heartbeat, dark red blood sprayed from the attacker’s wrist.
Heavy pheromones, mingled with the thick scent of blood, drifted through the air. Su Ren closed his eyes and frowned, huddled in Xie Chouqiu’s arms. His eyelashes trembled slightly. He heard the faint sound of a tendon being pierced, which was immediately muffled by Xie Chouqiu’s cool, deep voice:
“It stinks. You’re bothering him.”
Su Ren grabbed Xie Chouqiu’s lapel, trying to stop his chaotic consciousness, but he couldn’t move an inch.
He could only allow his soft bangs to rest against his pale cheeks, his eyes fixed unblinkingly on Xie Chouqiu’s hands, which were covered in dark blood.
The next moment, a crisp, refreshing scent of lemon burst forth, neutralizing the stench of decay and burning with an absolute, domineering authority.
Quietly and continuously, Xie Chouqiu released his pheromones into the vast open air without end.
Pheromones of an S-rank Alpha were a terrifying force of deterrence, and three or four of the Alphas present possessed them.
But even so.
Faced with a lime scent that seemingly held no threat, every Alpha there, including the S-ranks, felt their legs grow weak. Without exception, everyone present felt the urge to kneel and submit.
Several knives clattered to the ground in a strangely synchronized rhythm.
The air fell into an eerie silence. Brother Mu’s expression finally turned grave. “Are you an Enigma?” he asked.
Compared to the strength of Alphas, the ordinariness of Betas, and the delicacy of Omegas, most people present didn’t actually have a clear concept of an Enigma. Even if they knew such a special gender existed, Enigmas were simply too rare.
Consequently, even though data and rumors suggested that an Enigma could not only mark all genders, including Alphas, but also possessed pheromones dozens of times more lethal than an S-rank Alpha, few had ever actually encountered one in real life.
Xie Chouqiu was an Enigma?
Xie Chouqiu looked coldly at Wei Hai and didn’t answer.
His peerlessly handsome face was pressed against Su Ren’s, their noses nearly touching. His mist-blue eyes were a mix of clarity and chaos.
Perhaps because he rarely released his pheromones in daily life, even the students from Beijing University hadn’t expected an Enigma’s pheromones to be so terrifying.
“Who cut your trousers?” Xie Chouqiu asked Su Ren.
Su Ren’s face darkened, his obsidian eyes staring back at Xie Chouqiu’s nearly obsessive gaze.
“Xie Chouqiu?” Su Ren called his name softly.
“If you won’t tell me,” the tall Enigma gave a dark, gloomy smile, “I’ll just have to ask them one by one.”
Su Ren turned to look at the mess on the ground and the fallen men, attempting to grab Xie Chouqiu’s wrist.
But his hand was swatted away!
The veins on the man’s hand bulged. As if he couldn’t feel the heat, he broke off a piece of flaming wood and hurled it at a man attempting a sneak attack, instantly crushing the attacker’s wrist.
A piercing wail followed.
At the same time…
The man with thin legs lunged forward with incredible speed, a half-meter-long blade swinging directly toward Xie Chouqiu’s neck!
Su Ren had been watching the man the whole time. In that lightning-fast moment, his pupils constricted. Summoning a surge of strength from nowhere, he shoved Xie Chouqiu aside! He swung a military knife he had hidden in his hand, accurately striking the man’s long blade with a sharp metallic ring!
Xie Chouqiu turned back.
A second later, he shattered Brother Mu’s hand bone with his bare hands.
Just then, a cry of alarm came from a nearby restaurant: “Stop! Stop fighting!”
The anxious male voice sounded as though he were on the verge of tears. “This is our Professor Su, he’s here to mediate! Don’t fight!”
Hearing this, Su Ren’s eyes flickered with realization.
Fang Zhen?
Su Ren narrowed his eyes, a chill settling over his pale face.
Looking back, he saw Fang Zhen standing inside a restaurant, dressed in a sharp suit and completely unharmed.
The words he spoke were something Su Ren never expected: “Stop fighting, it’s all a mistake! Teacher Xie, the person you’re hitting belongs to our boss! The boss knows you!”
Xie Chouqiu’s face was grim. He gave a cold laugh. “Plenty of people know me. Feel free to ask around in the field army.”
As he spoke, he kicked the thin man away.
Meanwhile, Su Ren.
He looked at the bloodied Alpha student on the ground, then at the Omega who had passed out under a shed, and finally at Xie Chouqiu.
“What is your boss’s name?” Su Ren asked.
“Wei Hai! Our boss is called Wei Hai!”
The moment Fang Zhen spoke the name, Xie Chouqiu visibly froze, his towering frame looking as though it had been hit with a pause button.
Su Ren knit his brows slightly, the name sounding vaguely familiar.
Then, a sharp, high-pitched male voice came from behind Fang Zhen, speaking slowly with a distinct note of amusement:
“Ah, Professor Su is here? Why didn’t anyone tell me?”
Fang Zhen wanted to say that Liu Xi had been calling Professor Su the whole time and holding the door shut to keep people in, so he had no idea Su Ren had arrived. But a crisp voice suddenly interrupted: “Ah, Brother Chouqiu? Why is Brother Chouqiu covered in blood?”
An Omega girl, about the same height as Su Shi, seemed completely unafraid that the surrounding Alphas would hurt her. Like a lively bird, she hopped over the obstacles scattered on the ground, heading straight for Xie Chouqiu and Su Ren.
Su Ren knit his brows slightly, casting a cold gaze between Liu Xi and Xie Chouqiu.
He instantly remembered where he had heard the name Wei Hai before. He was Liu Xi’s childhood playmate, or more accurately, his ex-boyfriend.
As if he had expected this, Su Ren looked away in disgust.
The next moment, Liu Xi clung to Xie Chouqiu’s arm, his curious, clear gaze falling on Su Ren’s torn trousers. “Oh, white silk stockings. They look just like Sister Su Shi’s. Pfft, Professor Su, is it because Brother Chouqiu cheated that you’re trying to win him back…?”
Thud!
It was the sound of a body hitting the ground.
A sharp, hysterical scream followed.
Su Ren looked at Xie Chouqiu in shock.
The tall, handsome man’s face was ashen. He glared at the Omega on the ground with a thick, murderous intent. His pheromones were so concentrated that some people nearby immediately entered their heat or rut.
Just then, a strong scent of takoyaki wafted from a nearby shop, as if someone had just started cooking.
A literal “walking takoyaki” emerged from the shop.
Wei Hai.
Su Ren covered his nose in disbelief. The next second, Xie Chouqiu pulled him tightly into his arms.
The sweetness of lime and the bizarre scent of takoyaki melded together. Add a plate of peanuts, and you’d have an afternoon tea set.
Su Ren used one hand to pin down Xie Chouqiu’s arm, which was causing trouble on his thigh, but his wrist was caught. The man almost brutally used his hand to tug at Su Ren’s torn trousers.
As they pushed and pulled, a sticky sensation pressed against Su Ren’s calf.
The white stockings were stained ugly with dark red blood.
Yet, on Su Ren’s straight legs, they somehow looked even more beautiful.
Xie Chouqiu couldn’t hide it.
Consequently, a thick, lingering gaze settled on Su Ren’s long legs.
Wei Hai watched for a while before turning his intrigued eyes toward Xie Chouqiu:
“I heard you resigned from your public office for me?” Wei Hai asked.
Su Ren’s handsome brows suddenly knit together.
He saw Xie Chouqiu give a short laugh. Those dark eyes no longer held the clarity they had when facing Su Ren alone.
He said:
“If that mouth of yours lets out one more tasteless fart, I will kill you.”
Wei Hai raised both hands to his head in a gesture of surrender.
“Hahaha, you’re really scaring me,” Wei Hai’s gaze lingered on Xie Chouqiu with great interest. “You’re certainly the first one to push me this far. But do you think this system is something you can just enter and leave whenever you want? Heh heh heh. Let me give you some advice: stop now. Don’t try any more moves to control your subconscious. Otherwise, what happened today will happen again to your pretty little treasure, and you might not be able to save him next time. Do you understand?”
Xie Chouqiu’s dark brows were set as he stared at Wei Hai. His gaze was chaotic and irritable as he held Su Ren tightly. “Hilarious. Watch your father do exactly that.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Wei Hai, the men in suits, and the others vanished from the large lot simultaneously, as if their data had logged out.
Su Ren’s sharp brows looked incredibly beautiful when knit together.
He had already called out to Song Di dozens of times in his head, but the usually noisy system hadn’t responded once.
Su Ren sighed, momentarily unsure of where to go.
His beautiful, sharp dark eyes looked coldly at Xie Chouqiu, deep in thought.
Xie Chouqiu buried his head in the crook of Su Ren’s neck and whispered softly into his ear:
“Su Ren, my head hurts so much.”
“Mmh?”
“Am I going to turn into an idiot?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
Su Ren paused, then expressionlessly but very gently ruffled Xie Chouqiu’s hair. “Because…
“You’re already enough of an idiot.”
Fragment Xie Chouqiu (Puppy face): Oh.
Original Xie Chouqiu (Wolfish squint): Oh?
Su Ren (Speechless): Oh, your big head.
