The Aloof Beta Transmigrated as the Pretty Wife [Transmigration] - Chapter 24
Near noon, only one stall door remained locked in the faculty restroom.
Inside, the lean young man moved with efficient grace. He tore open a brand-new pack of white silk stockings and gave them a quick shake, much as one would a pair of thermal leggings. He remained expressionless, ignoring the silky, delicate texture and the exquisite lace trim. He didn’t even acknowledge the pair of decorative rabbit ears perched on the upper rim of the stockings.
As his straight, slender legs were perfectly encased in white silk, Su Ren didn’t offer so much as a glance. He pulled his trousers back on, the entire process taking less than ten seconds. He tucked his crisp shirt hem into his waistband with meticulous care, and just like that, the elegant, dignified professor returned to his usual self.
Song Di grew frantic. “Ah! Why are you putting your pants back on? How are you going to seduce your husband if you hide the stockings? Don’t think this mission is easy. Many couples stand stark naked in front of each other and still fail!”
Su Ren let out a cold sneer. “Would it kill you to be quiet for once?”
Song Di continued her barrage of complaints and nagging, demanding that Su Ren follow the mission’s script.
Losing his patience, Su Ren pushed the door open with a frigid expression, only to find Xie Chouqiu standing right outside. The man was motionless, his gaze deep and his brow heavy with thought.
At the same time, the system chimed, announcing that Mission Eight had been completed.
Song Di was speechless. How did this kid’s cheating methods keep working? He had hidden the stockings under his trousers and simply opened a door while Xie Chouqiu happened to be standing there. How did that translate to making the man “infatuated”?
Song Di watched Xie Chouqiu with disbelief.
The handsome man’s gaze was fixed on Su Ren’s ankle, burning with a sudden, intense heat. At the sight of that smooth, pale sliver of skin, he jerked his eyes away.
Where was the “leg fetishist” persona the system had assigned him?
This is just a pure-hearted puppy!
Song Di felt a sense of danger. It seemed Xie Chouqiu was already spiraling out of control.
At that moment, Xie Chouqiu leaned forward, looming over Su Ren as he asked in a heavy voice, “Did you take something of your sister’s?”
Su Ren replied, “Take what?”
“You don’t know?”
Su Ren remained expressionless. “If you don’t tell me, how would I know?”
Xie Chouqiu’s burning gaze drifted back to Su Ren’s black trousers. Aside from that unusually delicate flash of white at the ankle, everything else was hidden.
“Stop pretending, you know exactly what I’m talking about,” Xie Chouqiu muttered, his brows knit in a mix of bashfulness and urgency. The lines of his handsome face were tense, as if he were discussing a matter of life and death. His expression held a trace of youthful earnestness. “Su Ren, you don’t have to do things you dislike. Can you please stop following their arrangements?”
Su Ren’s eyes widened in surprise. He knit his brows and asked, “What?”
Xie Chouqiu shook his head, his misty blue eyes filled with sincerity. After carefully choosing his words, he spoke slowly, “I don’t know, I just feel… it’s very strange for you to steal your sister’s stockings. That shouldn’t be you.”
A clear smile finally touched Su Ren’s lips. He nodded, his dark eyes sparkling with a rare, beautiful amusement. “I see.”
Su Ren narrowed his elegant eyes and said softly, “But, just because Su Shi lost her socks doesn’t mean you should imagine such things about me, hmm?”
Xie Chouqiu froze. He blinked, rubbed his nose, and stammered, “Oh, oh, sorry. Damn. I have things to do, I’m leaving!”
Xie Chouqiu bolted faster than a stray dog, seemingly never even considering the possibility that Su Ren might be lying to him.
Once Xie Chouqiu had gone, Su Ren walked to the mirror above the sink. He took a breath, letting his mind settle until he was completely calm again.
Xie Chouqiu’s subconscious was awakening too quickly. Judging by Song Di’s reaction, if they continued to veer off the script and handle missions so recklessly, the plot might take a massive, unpredictable turn.
Su Ren looked down, ignoring the tiny stir of emotion in his heart. Since the mission was done, he intended to take the stockings off immediately.
Suddenly, his phone rang, the sound echoing through the empty restroom with urgent persistence.
Su Ren looked at the screen:
[Liu Xi]
He felt an instinctive surge of disgust and didn’t want to answer. He let it ring over a dozen times.
A few seconds later, a different name appeared on the screen.
[Fang Zhen]
Strange.
After a moment’s hesitation, Su Ren picked up.
The sounds of violent crashes and sharp screaming on the other end meant Su Ren no longer had the time to change out of those trivial white stockings.
[Erhai Road · Snack Street]
Bang! Bang! Bang! A violent brawl was escalating, showing no signs of stopping.
Beer bottles were shattered across the ground. Blood stained the jagged glass shards. Alcohol flooded the pavement, and bodies lay scattered everywhere.
This was a scene the script had never described.
Su Ren surveyed the area, taking in the two opposing groups.
One group consisted of about ten delinquent students in eccentric clothing, mostly Alphas with a few Betas. The other group was composed of men in sharp suits—every single one of them an A-grade Alpha. There were about twenty of them, and based on their brutal fighting style, they looked more like a gang of thugs than businessmen.
Two Omega students, dressed as “bad girls,” were huddled in a corner, trembling as they watched the chaos. When they saw Su Ren approaching, they waved frantically as if seeing a savior, yet they were too terrified to make a sound. One of them pointed to her phone, indicating they had already called the police.
Su Ren’s brow darkened. As he hurried toward the students, two brawlers swung broken bottles toward the side of his neck.
Startled, Su Ren instinctively parried with his hand, dodging skillfully. A mocking laugh erupted behind him:
“That one who just walked by has some moves. Did you see?”
“I saw. Nice face, nice ass too. Looks like some high-end intellectual.”
“Should we snag him for the boss? He’s been into that type lately.”
Crash!
The sound of glass shattering against a skull was sickeningly heavy.
Su Ren’s pupils dilated as he saw the Alpha student pinned to the ground. It was one of his own students—supposedly just an NPC, now covered in blood. The boy held a broken bottle, having smashed it over the head of the suited man who had been talking trash. “Screw you! That’s my teacher. Keep your mouth clean!”
The man who was hit collapsed to the ground, howling in pain.
The nearby Alphas swarmed forward, their eyes gleaming with malice. A chaotic, nauseating mix of pheromones filled the air.
Su Ren held his breath and prepared to retreat, but a powerful Alpha was already lunging toward the student on the ground, a blade glinting in his hand.
Without time to think, Su Ren delivered a fierce kick to the Alpha’s knee with every ounce of his strength.
The man was caught off guard and went down hard, his kneecap smashing against the broken glass. Thick, pungent pheromones flooded the air.
Seeing this, his companion lunged at Su Ren with a beer bottle.
Su Ren’s expression turned cold. He pivoted, dodging with incredible speed.
“Ho, not bad,” the man teased, as if playing with a bird, confident in his victory. “Where’d you learn those moves? In bed—Pffft!”
Su Ren didn’t say a word. He grabbed an ice-cold beer and splashed it directly into the man’s eyes, then used his bare hands to flip a massive, eight-meter-long table!
Boom!
The table crashed down!
Liquor sprayed, dishes shattered, and food went flying.
The two suited men were caught completely off guard, now separated from the Alpha student on the ground by the overturned table.
At the same time, seven or eight of their accomplices finally turned their attention toward Su Ren. They looked at the refined, pale, and breathtakingly beautiful Beta professor with excitement, intentionally releasing oppressive pheromones.
A man with a scar lowered his voice, speaking to a thin-legged man with a mustache. “This is some top-tier quality. Brother Mu, what do you think?”
The mustachioed man pursed his lips, his critical gaze scanning Su Ren from head to toe. A satisfied smile crept across his face before his eyes settled on Su Ren’s ankles.
Su Ren felt a chill at the intensity of the gaze. The thin-legged man took a puff of his cigarette and remarked, “An Omega pretending to be a Beta. He’s got the scent of an Alpha on him.”
“Ha, Brother Mu, your eyes are too sharp,” the scarred man said, his voice rising with excitement. “Even better. If he’s already been used, Brother Hai won’t want him, which means he belongs to us. I haven’t played with a high-end intellectual yet.”
The group began to close in on Su Ren.
The Alphas released a jumble of pheromones. One reached out to grab Su Ren’s backside, but Su Ren dodged and delivered a sharp kick directly to the man’s groin.
A sharp blade caught Su Ren’s trousers, slicing through the fabric.
The trousers tore open, revealing the lace trim and the little rabbit ears. Su Ren’s face went pale. He reached down to cover himself, but a heavy iron oil canister came flying toward his head.
Inside the scalding hot canister was a lit cigarette butt.
Su Ren narrowed his eyes, leaning weakly against a table, instinctively trying to shield the bloodied student behind him.
Suddenly, a series of thunderous sounds erupted:
Bang!
Crack!
The sounds were deafeningly close.
When Su Ren opened his eyes, the table that had been cracked by the thin-legged man was now shoved upright, acting as a shield between him and the attackers.
A shadow completely enveloped Su Ren. A fresh, cool scent of lemons filled the air, instantly dispersing the foul, low-grade pheromones.
Su Ren looked up and met a pair of misty blue eyes that were exceptionally clear.
Xie Chouqiu looked down at the flash of white inside Su Ren’s torn trousers.
His gaze darkened, and his voice was low:
“The little rabbit is about to jump out.”
