- Chapter 7 - Married Already?
The sedan chair tilted before descending steadily to the ground.
Si Xuan lifted the red curtain and carried Jia Yu out. Jia Yu finally noticed the white monster lying on the ground. Its face was a skull!
It was smiling, revealing a set of bone white teeth. Seeming to notice Jia Yu’s gaze, it turned its head; there were no eyes in those hollow, cavernous sockets.
Hastily averting his gaze, Jia Yu noticed they were in a plaza. The most striking sight was a goddess statue nearly one hundred meters tall in the center. The top half of her face was covered by a mask, and she had a human body with a snake tail, coiled around a massive black pillar.
Perhaps because so much time had passed, the scales carved into the statue were blurred, leaving only faint traces.
Standing at the foot of the statue, Jia Yu felt an overwhelming sense of oppression. His scalp tingled, and he realized he might have megaphobia. What was stranger was that the statue felt eerily similar to the small black idol in the Shen family’s ancestral hall.
An elder began a rhythmic, ancient chant ahead of them. Everyone around them knelt, raising their hands high above their heads with palms facing upward.
Shen Si Xuan pressed Jia Yu down to kowtow. He knocked his head against the ground so many times that he began to see stars.
Suddenly, Jia Yu felt heat from behind him, as if something was burning. He vaguely heard the crackling of wood and caught a whiff of that familiar woody scent.
He glanced back and saw a raging bonfire radiating intense heat.
A group of women dressed in black dresses with strange patterns, wearing silver headdresses and intricate necklaces, circled the bonfire and the two red clad newcomers kneeling before the statue. They wore faceless masks, holding hands, singing in a mysterious, peculiar tune, and dancing as if performing a bizarre ritual.
Behind these dancing women, a vast crowd knelt, dressed in black clothes with the same strange patterns and wearing faceless masks. Men and women, young and old, all hummed that same mysterious melody.
Hearing the eerie singing, Jia Yu could not imagine how many people were chanting in unison. He trembled violently, his face turning ghostly pale.
He could not understand. Just a short while ago, he was the high and mighty, favored Shen family Second Young Master, driving luxury cars and living in mansions. How had he ended up in this state?
The next moment, the singing stopped.
The elder spoke a stream of unintelligible, rapid fire words with a long, drawn out, rhythmic intonation that sounded like an incantation.
Those dancing and the crowd of black clad figures knelt in unison, foreheads touching the ground, hands placed on the earth with palms facing up. Finally, even the elder knelt, facing the statue in the same posture.
In the entire plaza, only the two men in red stood tall.
From a distance, they looked like two red poppies blooming in black clouds, bewitching, strange, and terrifying.
Suddenly, Shen Si Xuan hugged Jia Yu tightly, his left hand extending with his palm open.
Ding.
A metallic roar echoed in Jia Yu’s ears, like a Buddhist chant piercing his consciousness. He saw a ring rotating above Si Xuan’s palm, inscribed with purple, glowing runes that spun faster and faster. A few seconds later, Shen Si Xuan closed his hand.
The moment his palm closed, the world changed instantly. Jia Yu felt a daze, and suddenly they were in a pitch black place.
Si Xuan looked like a different person.
He was dressed in a long black robe, wearing a black metal mask. After retracting his left hand, he raised his right hand high above his shoulder. As the strange metallic roar faded, a purple, glowing scepter appeared out of thin air, rotating at high speed with a deep, piercing sound. Si Xuan gripped the purple scepter and slammed it down.
From the point where the scepter touched the ground, boundless purple flames leaped up and spread in all directions.
This fantastical scene left Jia Yu completely stunned. Is this a dream? What is happening before my eyes?
Under the purple flames, countless ghost shadows appeared, grinning, roaring, and tearing at each other, looking exactly like an infernal hell.
He backed away in terror. Ghosts! Real ghosts! Si Xuan pressed Jia Yu’s head against his chest and whispered eerily: “Baby, welcome to the Ghost Realm.”
Impossible, a hallucination! It must be a hallucination! Jia Yu realized he was stepping on water; they were standing on a red carpet, surrounded by pitch black water, with purple flames burning upon the surface.
“Deity of the Frontier, we have come to accept your blessing.”
Hearing Si Xuan’s voice, Jia Yu looked up and saw a gigantic figure that swallowed all light, leaving only a silhouette.
“Very well.”
An ethereal, distant female voice sounded, and she pointed into the void.
Countless glowing purple chains emerged from the surroundings, wrapping tightly around the two of them.
Looking down at the chains appearing over his heart, Jia Yu’s face turned deathly pale, all the color draining away.
His eyes were wide, filled with horror. His body trembled uncontrollably, like a leaf in the cold wind. His feet felt nailed to the ground, unable to move a single step. He could only stare blankly at this magical scene, as if time had frozen.
Suddenly, a constant stream of power surged through the chains into his body. That immense vitality impacted every corner of his being; his soul trembled!
A purple chain appeared on Shen Si Xuan’s chest, tightly connecting the two of them. He looked at Jia Yu’s stunned expression, unable to help himself from leaning over to kiss his lips. “Jia Yu, you have finally taken back a portion of your power.”
What does that mean?
Jia Yu looked at him blankly. The next moment, an ethereal female voice sounded from above: “Child, you have returned.”
Countless characters appeared in the air and burrowed into Jia Yu’s skin. The comfort from a moment ago vanished, replaced by piercing pain so intense his thoughts began to scatter. Within a few breaths, he lost consciousness.
When he woke, he was on an unfamiliar bed. Jia Yu looked at the red wedding clothes on his body and sat up abruptly.
The scenes from just a moment ago flashed through his mind like a slideshow.
Was it a dream? It felt so real. He rolled up his sleeves, but his skin remained smooth and fair; there were no strange characters to be seen.
Thinking of something else, he jumped out of bed, stepped barefoot onto the floor, and forcefully shoved the window open. Outside, the other houses were pitch black; there were no red lanterns, and there was no giant statue under the moonlight.
Hahaha, it was all a dream! It was a dream! Jia Yu covered his face, laughing maniacally, tears streaming down his cheeks. It was a dream! Thank goodness, it was a dream! No ghosts! No ghosts!
The bamboo door was pushed open, and Si Xuan walked in, also wearing red wedding attire. “You are awake.”
Before he could finish, Jia Yu grabbed him by the collar and shoved him to the ground. Jia Yu’s eyes flared with rage as he sat on top of him and delivered a resounding slap. “What kind of drugs did you give me!”
Seeing that exasperated, furious appearance, Si Xuan smiled. “Wife, there are no drugs. Do you not believe me?”
“Believe your mother! You dare use such dirty tactics on me? A wild dog dreaming of marrying me? Why do you not take a look at your own reflection; you are delusional!”
Jia Yu’s chest heaved violently, the veins on his arms bulging, his eyes bloodshot. How dare he? He even dared to drug him; he is incredibly bold.
Si Xuan flipped over, using his physical advantage to pin him down, narrowing his eyes and releasing the dangerous aura of a superior predator. “I am not just delusional; I want you beneath me for the rest of my life. So what!”
“Laughable. By what right?” Jia Yu scanned him up and down, looking arrogant and high and mighty even while pinned beneath him.
“By the right of me.”
The words were cut short. Si Xuan leaned down rapidly, his dark eyes unfathomable, stripping Jia Yu of his ability to speak. Blood rushed to his head; every nerve was clamoring, tear him apart, shred him to pieces. He forcefully pried open Shen Jia Yu’s lips, licking everything inside his mouth.
Feeling Si Xuan’s violence, Shen Jia Yu’s own temper flared. This dirty thing is too insolent!
He frowned, seizing back control, and bit down hard on the soft tongue. His mouth was instantly filled with a woody, bloody scent. A strange sense of relief washed through every corner of his body; his pores felt like they were drinking in rain. Every cell was clamoring, his soul was shaking wildly, plunder! Plunder! To him, Si Xuan’s blood was top tier opium, incredibly delicious.
A scarlet glint flashed in the depths of his pupils. Power surged forth. Jia Yu grabbed the back of his head and yanked him away, rising and throwing him onto the bed.
He pinned Si Xuan’s hands down, biting his Adam’s apple mercilessly, leaving a bone deep mark on his neck. The woody scent exploded in his mouth, leaving Jia Yu’s scalp tingling, his soul detaching from his body as he licked the blood soaked wound.
The red fabric tore like paper, drifting down continuously.
Jia Yu felt the elastic muscles in his hands and curled his lips.
Si Xuan was undoubtedly extremely handsome, his chiseled features like a sculpture, nose high, lips thin, eyebrows sharp as swords, eyes bright as stars, hair black as lacquer. His profound features made him look like a demon.
Jia Yu clamped Si Xuan’s chin and pressed a kiss to his red lips. But Jia Yu was most satisfied with his top tier physique.
The eight pack abs on his abdomen were clearly defined, containing immense power, extending to the alluring lines of his mermaid trail beneath his pants. His pheromones were overflowing.
Jia Yu squeezed hard, watching the other man’s eyes deepen. “Do not dream of climbing over me.”
Lust surged, and Si Xuan could no longer hold back, biting his lip. This man is just begging for it.
He pulled the man onto the bed, and they both sank into the soft mattress.
As the woody scent grew richer in the air, Jia Yu lost control, acting like a wild beast, biting Si Xuan until he was covered in blood.
Si Xuan stopped suppressing himself, using one hand to restrain Jia Yu while tearing away the fabric on his body.
Shen Jia Yu’s skin was as delicate and smooth as mutton fat jade, flushed pink, like a blooming poppy, radiating fatal temptation and beauty. This was the flesh of the upper class, nourished by countless sums of money, exuding the scent of luxury.
His perfect figure and clear muscle lines were enough to make one’s blood boil.
Si Xuan’s eyes grew darker, and he ruthlessly leaned over to strip away everything.
Meanwhile, Jia Yu’s eyes were narrowed, streams of physiological tears leaking from the corners. His expression crumbled, crying like rain, emitting whimpers of a small beast in agony.
