- That Stupid, Pretentious Young Master Deserves To Be Punished
- Chapter 6 - The Ghost Marriage
Jia Yu was placed on the black wooden bed and began to survey his surroundings. The bed had four dark wooden posts, and the folding screens on either side were carved with strange patterns. The black gauze curtains were embroidered with countless tiny characters, dense and packed together like runes, looking as if they had been passed down for generations and exuding an ancient, mysterious aura.
Sitting there, he felt a momentary dizzying sensation, as if he were lying in a coffin, which felt unnerving.
It must be exhaustion, he thought; why else would I have such an illusion?
He shook his head and examined the room. It was about 20 square meters, containing only a bed, a desk, and a wardrobe, all painted a pitch black color. The floor was made of earth bricks, and a bare light bulb hung from the ceiling.
It was utterly destitute.
Jia Yu found it hard to imagine how the 1.9 meter tall Shen Si Xuan had managed to survive in such an environment.
He lay on the bed, bored, staring at the runic characters on the canopy above him, when a sudden wave of vertigo hit him.
Self mockery aside, he thought, it is one thing to be dizzy from Chinese characters, but why am I dizzy from characters I do not even recognize? Damn it. Fortunately, the quilt had been washed and carried a familiar woody scent that felt strangely comforting, and he drifted off to sleep without realizing it.
When Shen Si Xuan entered, he found Jia Yu fast asleep.
Even in sleep, Jia Yu was breathtakingly beautiful. His features were exquisite and superior, and his blond hair made him look as if he were glowing, like a deity descended from Mount Olympus, carrying an imposing pride and an untainted, holy purity.
Shen Si Xuan stood at the bedside, gently tracing Jia Yu’s brows, eyelashes, and bridge of his nose with his fingertips, finally lingering on his cherry blossom like thin lips. The lip line was sharp, the shape full, and he rubbed it with a bit of force. Involuntarily, he lowered his head, caught those lips, and began to lick them slowly with the tip of his tongue, savoring them as if they were a delicacy.
After a long while, only when the lips were flushed bright red did Shen Si Xuan finally relent.
Satisfied, he took off his shoes, climbed onto the bed, pulled Jia Yu into his arms, and buried his head in the crook of his neck.
The Second Young Master smells so good, he thought. Even his skin seemed soaked in honey, carrying a captivating, mysterious floral scent, fresh, elegant, and addictively sweet, enough to make a man lose himself.
Shen Si Xuan sniffed greedily, savoring the tender skin of Jia Yu’s neck, wishing he could inhale his entire being, taste every inch of his flesh and blood, and dismantle him until he was part of his own bones.
He recalled the first time he met Shen Jia Yu at a cocktail party.
Back then, Shen Jia Yu was still the high and mighty young master of the Shen family, known to everyone in the circles of City A.
Shen Jia Yu was famous for three things: his prominent and noble background, his stunning beauty, and his ignorant, foolish mind.
Shen Si Xuan, who went by Si Xuan back then, was still a young entrepreneur starting from scratch while attending university. He had always scoffed at the rumors within the wealthy circle. At that time, he was arrogant, believing he possessed a sharp mind, looking down on the second generation crowd of wastrels, and had no interest in that circle at all.
He had not taken the rumors about the Shen family’s second young master to heart; the circle was rotten to the core, filled with endless unfounded and fabricated gossip.
It was not until the 80th birthday celebration of the Huo family patriarch that he finally saw the legendary Shen second young master.
Shen Jia Yu was wearing a navy blue suit, surrounded by people like stars orbiting the moon. The lights hit Jia Yu, making him appear as if he carried his own radiance. He seemed born to be the protagonist, more eye catching than the stage lights themselves, with everyone’s gaze fixed upon him. The arrogance etched into his bones made everything around him pale in comparison. Shen Jia Yu’s expression remained devoid of fluctuation, as if nothing could enter his eyes, maintaining a cool and aloof demeanor toward everyone.
At just one glance, Si Xuan was captivated.
He had fallen in love with Shen Jia Yu at first sight.
Shen Si Xuan had frequented many banquets and parties, seeing plenty of celebrity beauties, but this high and mighty, favored son of heaven, the second young master Shen, made it impossible for him to look away.
Although Shen Jia Yu did not yet know who he was, Si Xuan had secretly sworn to himself that he would possess this person.
He had never longed to possess someone so intensely; he had come there for Shen Jia Yu.
And so, Si Xuan began obsessively inquiring about the young master’s schedule.
To his dismay, the young master rarely appeared in public, and they hardly ever crossed paths, even at university.
He saw Shen Jia Yu again at a high end club.
Upon hearing the young master had appeared, Si Xuan dropped the contract he was about to sign, left his secretary behind, and rushed over in a panic.
The young master was wearing an elegant, aristocratic cardigan, drinking wine with his head lowered, speaking to those around him. Under the light, he looked like a beautiful Greek god, completely unaware of Si Xuan’s presence.
It was not until someone introduced him that the young master lifted his head and offered him a slight glance.
Those eyes were like the bright moon in the sky, dazzling, sparkling with starlight, profound and mysterious.
With that single glance, Si Xuan’s heart hammered, and he could clearly hear every cell in his body clamoring with desire.
The young master had only looked at him for an instant, a glance so light it was almost non existent, and quickly looked away, not keeping Si Xuan in his heart at all.
Later, as Si Xuan appeared more frequently at places the young master visited, he discovered that any place Shen Jia Yu went was remarkably clean. There were fewer celebrities trying to sell themselves, fewer sordid activities, and the second generation crowd was much more disciplined, no drugs, no hired companions, as if they were simply chatting and tasting wine.
Only then did he learn that the young master had an older brother with a strong desire for control who was extremely strict; if he discovered any riffraff around his brother, he would deal with them with thunderous force.
The Shen family’s eldest young master was illustrious and powerful; he could single handedly cover the sky in City A; who would dare to provoke him?
So, Si Xuan restrained his impulses, waiting for the opportunity, lurking in the shadows.
Who would have thought his luck would be so good? Not only did he become entangled with Shen Jia Yu, but he was also recognized as a descendant of the Shen family, while the once high and mighty favored son of heaven had his identity swapped, becoming a penniless nobody with no one to rely on.
Si Xuan knew that after waiting six years, the opportunity had finally arrived.
—
When Jia Yu woke again, the windows were already leaking the first light of dawn.
Feeling the heat radiating from beside him, he pushed Shen Si Xuan away and sat up. This sleep left Jia Yu’s entire body aching. Looking down, he realized he had been changed into pajamas. He did not know how long he had slept; it was all that bastard Shen Si Xuan’s fault, forcing him to climb the mountain for six or seven hours yesterday until he was exhausted like a dead dog.
Shen Si Xuan was also awake and pulled Jia Yu back down. “It is still early. Sleep a bit longer.”
Jia Yu could not fall asleep; he had already slept for so long. He kicked Shen Si Xuan’s thigh and said impatiently: “Get up and heat some water for me to take a bath.”
Shen Si Xuan grabbed the fair foot, turned over, pinned Jia Yu to the bed, followed the foot up to the calf, rested it on his own shoulder, and turned slightly to kiss the beautifully shaped leg.
Scorched by those lips, Jia Yu kicked him off the bed, stood up, and stepped on Shen Si Xuan’s face. “What is it, acting like you are in heat first thing in the morning?”
Caressing the smooth, delicate calf and moving upward, Shen Si Xuan lay on the bed, his eyes darkening. “Master, I have said before that my self control is very weak, and in front of you, it is practically non existent. Stop seducing me.”
“Oh, really?” Jia Yu pressed his foot down further. Seeing Shen Si Xuan’s tense muscles, he curled his lips in a smile. “That is cheapening you.” With that, he kicked the man off the bed.
He then leaned over, grabbed Si Xuan’s hair, and pulled upward with force. As they locked eyes, he coldly spat out a few words: “Dogs are not fit to get on the bed.”
Reflected in his pupils were those sharp, beautiful phoenix eyes. Si Xuan grinned, “Then am I fit to serve my master?” In the next moment, his head was forced downward. A faint voice came from above: “Even if you are the young master of the Shen family now, in my eyes, you are still a cheap dog. Heh, wanting to take revenge on me? Are you worthy?”
Si Xuan kept his head buried deep, the stray locks of hair obscuring his terrifying eyes. Even to this point, you are still so high and mighty? His smile deepened, carving out a cruel and bloodthirsty arc.
With a cigarette between his fingers, Shen Jia Yu looked up and exhaled smoke. Through the haze, his expression was blurred. He kicked the man in front of him and flicked the cigarette butt at him. “You can get out now.”
Wiping the corner of his mouth, Si Xuan retrieved Jia Yu’s slippers from the living room and helped him put them on.
The conditions in this dump made bathing inconvenient, he had to use a ladle to pour water, and there were so many bugs. Jia Yu, who had been pampered for over twenty years, did not want to stay a second longer. After breakfast, he decided to leave.
He decisively headed down the mountain. Behind him came Shen Si Xuan’s voice: “Second Young Master, are you planning to walk back to City A?”
He stopped, pondered for a moment, turned around, and said coldly: “Although I have no money, I have a mouth. I can still walk to the police station.” After saying that, he turned and headed down the mountain.
“Second Young Master, have you thought it through?”
Shen Si Xuan’s voice was extremely cold. Jia Yu opened his mouth to say a few words: “None of your business.”
In the next moment, his vision went black.
—
Jia Yu was awakened by the sound of suona horns.
He opened his eyes, only to find his vision obscured; his entire body was being tossed up and down.
Just as he reached out to pull, he realized he was paralyzed, unable to move a single finger. Even opening his mouth was difficult, so he could only squint at the red fabric before him.
Lowering his gaze, he noticed the clothes on his body were also red, embroidered with strange totems, and an intricate, ancient looking red gemstone hung around his neck. Hearing the gongs and drums playing beside him, Jia Yu had a very ominous guess.
Summoning all his strength, he tried to move his right hand, but it was futile; his body felt drained of all force.
Suddenly, his waist was embraced, and he felt something soft pressed against his lips. The familiar woody scent; it was Si Xuan!
He kissed Jia Yu lightly and pulled off the veil on his head. “Baby, are you so anxious to see?”
The sudden brightness made it impossible for Jia Yu to keep his eyes open. Once he adjusted, he realized he was wearing a bright red wedding costume, sitting in a red sedan chair. The chair was exquisite, carved with red hungry ghost masks on top, with bright red lanterns hanging all around, swaying in the wind.
As the wind blew past the curtains, he saw a shocking sight.
The night was as dark as ink, and several white lanterns appeared out of thin air, their ghostly pale light flickering.
At the same time, red lanterns lit up one after another on the surrounding buildings, creating a stark contrast between the eerie red light and the pale white light of the lanterns.
On the ground, dense white mist coiled and rose, slowly flowing as if to swallow everything. And in the sky, petals glowing with red light drifted down slowly. The entire scene was turbulent and treacherous.
Carrying the sedan chair was a monster with white horns, enormous in size, dressed in red clothes with pale, ghostly skin. Its hands were crawling on the ground, fingers withered like dead wood, curved into hooks, gaunt and slender.
A sea of people wrapped in black robes surrounded them, wearing white smiley masks, not a sliver of skin exposed.
Jia Yu panicked instantly. The strange environment, the strange people, the bizarre wedding costume; it gave him a vertigo inducing feeling of being detached from reality. Like a lamb being sacrificed to a god, having stumbled into an infernal hell, he was filled with naive panic and helpless despair.
He was lost. Was this all a dream? Why would such a scene exist in the 21st century?
The fear of the unknown made Jia Yu’s face turn pale, his entire body breaking out in cold sweat, his limbs going limp.
He looked toward Shen Si Xuan beside him for help. Shen Si Xuan hugged him, kissing the corner of his mouth. “Baby, those who break their promises will be avenged by evil ghosts. It is not that there is no retribution, but that the time has not yet come. Do not be afraid; your soul has already been sacrificed to me. I will protect and love you for the rest of my life.”
