Studying Is Such A Damn Thing - Chapter 26
The next day was Saturday. Qi Yuan realized that no matter how much he tried to set something up or wait around, he wouldn’t be able to run into Lin Ruinuo, especially since they had already agreed on dinner plans for Saturday during the spring outing. He had no choice but to let it go for now.
At noon, You Cheche knocked on the door of Qi Yuan’s house next door and dragged him over to Shen Yiyi’s place.
When the door opened, they found that the other four members of the group were already there.
“Huh? I thought we agreed on dinner tonight? Why is everyone here at noon?”
Shen Yiyi raised an eyebrow and looked at Qi Yuan. “Oh, sit down first. We’re planning to go out together tonight, so why not watch a movie at my place or play some cards this afternoon?”
Qi Yuan walked over with a grin. “Sure, count me in!”
You Cheche let out a chuckle and followed him inside.
“What are we playing?” Qi Yuan looked excited, he never could resist a card game.
Song Chaolian smiled. “Picking up where we left off, Truth or Dare.”
You Cheche curled his lip. “How old-fashioned.” Despite his words, he honestly sat down and began shuffling the deck.
Song Chaolian shook the dice. “Six.” She then passed them to Tang Yuwei, who was sitting next to her.
Tang Yuwei laughed. “Impressive. Shaking the highest number right off the bat, did you secretly pray to the Buddha?”
He then placed the dice back in the tray and gave them a shake. His pale, slender fingers moved so fast they blurred.
“Five. Aw, just missed it.” Tang Yuwei shrugged with a helpless smile and handed the dice to Li Yuyu.
Li Yuyu didn’t have much experience. He gave them a few random shakes and lifted the cover. You Cheche squeezed in beside him to read the total.
“Two! Looks like luck isn’t on your side, Xiaoyu? My turn, my turn!”
You Cheche looked at everyone, putting on a big show of it. He swayed to the left, then to the right, a mischievous smile playing on his face.
“And, open! Whoa, a three. Not bad, not bad. Xiaoyu, looks like you might be the one doing the Truth or Dare?”
Song Chaolian let out a scoff. “Heh, not necessarily. You guys know how someone has been since we were kids, his gaming talent is basically zero.”
Qi Yuan pretended to be angry, reaching out as if to grab Song Chaolian’s neck. “Hey! You! Learn to shut! Your! Mouth!”
Song Chaolian waved him off, signaling him to go away. Qi Yuan didn’t actually dare to mess with her, so he sheepishly backed off.
The dice rattled for a long time. When the cover was finally lifted, the room fell into a dead silence.
“Uh… a one…”
“Alright! Truth or Dare?”
Qi Yuan cocked an eyebrow. “Truth! It’s safer!”
You Cheche made a “please” gesture, signaling him to draw a card.
The moment Qi Yuan pulled the card and saw the text, a “holy crap” escaped his lips.
‘When was the last time you felt your heart skip a beat for someone, and why? Who was that person?’
“This question… tsk, brutal. I can only say, that’s brutal,” Shen Yiyi commented, wondering what would happen next.
“Well, let me analyze this for you. The stakes aren’t huge on the surface, but if you’re playing with people you know well, it’s easy for someone to hit a nerve. Even worse, the person you have a crush on might, be, right, here,” You Cheche teased.
As those words left his mouth, Qi Yuan broke into a cold sweat. Oh no, she hit the nail on the head!
He stammered, unable to find his voice for a moment. The looks the others were giving him became increasingly meaningful and suggestive.
Song Chaolian spoke up. “Heh, don’t tell me what You Cheche just said actually hit your weak spot? Do you really like one of us? Are you into an Alpha-Alpha relationship?”
She continued, “That shouldn’t be possible, right? Then… could it be you like either Xiaoyu or Cheche?”
Hearing this, Qi Yuan clenched his fists, his palms slick with sweat.
He was. So. Dead!
