Studying Is Such A Damn Thing - Chapter 16
When the two of them walked over, the six-person squad was officially reunited.
“Xiaoyu, let’s swap rooms tonight,” Qi Yuan suggested. Upon hearing this, Shen Yiyi looked at him warily. “What are you swapping rooms for?” Song Chaolian chimed in with a smirk, “Catching feelings already, buddy?”
Li Yuyu was dazed. If she swapped rooms with Qi Yuan, wouldn’t that mean she’d be sharing a room with Tang Yuwei?
Seeing the situation, You Cheche hurried to explain, “Wait, it’s just that the two of us made a bet to see who could stay up the longest tonight, it’s nothing else! Really, nothing! Oh, Xiaoyu, please, I’m begging you!”
Unable to withstand the pleading, Li Yuyu nodded with a flushed face.
“Yes! Qi Yuan, just you wait! I’m definitely going to beat you tonight!” Qi Yuan looked at him with disdain, letting out a slight scoff, “You? Stop bragging.”
The spring water was incredibly comfortable. You Cheche and Qi Yuan were sitting very close, chatting away. Because of their bet, they eventually started splashing water at each other.
“Ah!” You Cheche suddenly slipped. Seeing that he was about to fall face-first into the water, Qi Yuan reached out to catch him.
Qi Yuan wasn’t wearing swim trunks, he had only wrapped a towel around himself. Because of this sudden lunge, the towel fell off.
Um… In his heart, You Cheche was screaming frantically. Help! Someone save me! This is so awkward!
Lost in thought, You Cheche slowly lifted his head, staring at Qi Yuan with wide, stunned eyes. Qi Yuan stared back just as awkwardly. For a moment, they looked at each other in silence.
“Uh… that, Qi Yuan, thanks! Ha, wow, you’re really quick with your hands, huh!” Qi Yuan straightened up quickly and rubbed his nose, “Ah, thanks for the compliment.” “Haha… haha.”
Seeing this, the other four had already wandered off elsewhere to, gossip? The two of them were embarrassed to the extreme.
Looking around and realizing the other four were gone, they immediately reached an agreement to go find those four friends who clearly enjoyed watching the chaos.
The two of them got out of the pool, took a shower in the bathroom, dried off, and returned to the hotel. After searching around and finding no one, You Cheche sent a WeChat message to Shen Yiyi: ‘Where are you guys?’
A moment later, Shen Yiyi replied: ‘Cheche, just come to the restaurant to find us, we’re having dinner.’
‘Okay.’
You Cheche put his phone down and turned to Qi Yuan behind him. “Let’s go, Mr. School Bully, come with me to the restaurant to hunt them down.” “Oh, alright.”
The two of them walked into the restaurant aggressively. From a distance, they saw the four of them sitting together, the table covered in delicious food.
“Holy crap, how could you guys eat all this good stuff behind our backs without saying anything?” Seeing Qi Yuan speak up, Song Chaolian rolled her eyes. “We were giving you two some private space. With the vibe you two had earlier, who would dare stay?” Her voice was thick with sarcasm.
This brought back bad memories for You Cheche. His face turned red, and he quickly sat down next to Shen Yiyi, saying to Qi Yuan, “Just sit down! I’m starving!”
Hearing this, Qi Yuan stopped talking. He sat down casually next to Tang Yuwei, draped an arm around him, and whispered something.
You Cheche didn’t pay it any mind, his heart was set on the food, and he ate happily.
“By the way, there’s a parent-teacher meeting when we get back. Should we sneak out to play then?” Qi Yuan asked.
“Probably not. We’ll have to help decorate the classroom, and the school is making us study in the self-study room with the cameras on. We can’t get out,” Shen Yiyi said.
“It’s fine, just watch me! When the time comes, I’ll take you guys through a shortcut. As for the cameras, first of all, it’s certain that you two, as first and second rank, won’t get scolded. Oh, and Brother Tang, as third in the grade, won’t either. Xiaoyu is in the top fifty, so she might get a few words at most. As for me and Cheche, we’ll just write a six-thousand-word self-reflection and split it three thousand each.”
“Impressive,” You Cheche remarked. Qi Yuan looked around and, seeing that no one had any objections, settled the matter.
After all, there wouldn’t be any objections. They had been covering for each other since they were kids. They were used to being scolded, and they had been splitting the self-reflection essays the same way every year.
Yes, an evil plan was forming.
