Straight Man A Was Labeled As Fake A. - Chapter 2
Liu Yan looked at Jian Song with malicious intent and said, word for word, “Jian Song, the new student will be sitting with you. Is that okay?”
Jian Song’s lazy expression froze for a moment before he regained his senses. “Huh?”
A smile blossomed on Liu Yan’s face. “It seems Student Jian is very satisfied. Student Lu, you may go sit there. There is a spare desk next to Jian Song, so you will not need to move one.”
Lu Yingchi nodded and prepared to walk over. Jian Song was dumbfounded. “Wait, no. When did I say I wanted to sit with him?”
Liu Yan held her pointer like a weapon. “Student Jian, would you like to spend a week cleaning the restrooms?”
Jian Song’s face stiffened. Watching Lu Yingchi walk toward him with an air of ease, his heart filled with suppressed anger. However, he could not let it out. He certainly did not want to clean the restrooms.
Lu Yingchi arrived at Jian Song’s side, but neither of the desks was clean or empty. Both were piled high with Jian Song’s scattered belongings.
Lu Yingchi tapped the desktop lightly. “Student Jian, would you mind clearing off the desk?”
Jian Song played the part of a lazy boss. “I am not doing it. Whoever wants to sit there can clean it.”
From the podium, Liu Yan saw Jian Song’s completely uncooperative attitude. She started to say “Hey,” but stopped when she met Lu Yingchi’s eyes. Liu Yan frowned, said nothing more, and focused on her lesson.
Lu Yingchi was not angry at Jian Song’s response. Instead, he began to clear away the clutter bit by bit. Jian Song had an extraordinary amount of junk. As Lu Yingchi cleaned out the desk compartment, he pulled out a small barbell.
Lu Yingchi looked at Jian Song with a questioning gaze.
The moment Jian Song saw the barbell, his face flushed bright red. He snatched it from Lu Yingchi’s hand and said, “Go, go, go! You are so slow at cleaning; just move aside.”
Young Master Jian was afraid Lu Yingchi would discover more of his secrets, so he had no choice but to clean up himself.
After cleaning for the entire period, he was finally finished. Beads of sweat had formed on Jian Song’s forehead. He looked up and saw Lu Yingchi, who had stood for the entire class, looking pale and seemingly on the verge of fainting.
Seeing this, Jian Song was stunned, then immediately snapped back to reality, cursing himself silently. It was his own fault for being blind and misidentifying the student’s secondary gender; how could he blame someone else? It was not as if Lu Yingchi had asked to sit with him. Why was he taking his anger out on him? Who said an Alpha could not be frail?
He really should not have done that.
Jian Song pulled Lu Yingchi toward his seat with a sour face and said awkwardly, “You sit here. I will clean everything up first, and then we can switch back.”
As Lu Yingchi sat in Jian Song’s chair, he caught a very distinct scent of Jian Song’s pheromones. His mood suddenly improved. He noticed a half-eaten piece of chocolate tucked away in the desk compartment and licked his fangs. If he were to bite Jian Song, would he be as sweet as his pheromones?
Lu Yingchi watched Jian Song moving back and forth, occasionally lowering his head to move items from the other desk to his own. The boy’s fair, slender neck was exposed, completely unguarded before Lu Yingchi. Lu Yingchi looked up and took a few deep breaths to suppress the thoughts racing through his mind. He pulled a medicine bottle from his bag; without even drinking water, he placed a bitter pill into his mouth and let it dissolve on its own.
Jian Song, consumed by tidying up, did not notice Lu Yingchi’s actions at all.
By the time he finished, the second class was already underway. Jian Song gathered a large bundle of trash and asked, “Miss Liu, may I go throw this trash away?”
Liu Yan, whose lecture had been interrupted, took the opportunity to take a sip of water and waved her hand. She could not help but admire Lu Yingchi. She had spent two weeks trying to get Jian Song to move those desks without success, but the moment Lu Yingchi arrived, Jian Song obeyed obediently. She had chosen the right assistant.
Lu Yingchi sat in Jian Song’s seat with a faint smile. When he caught Liu Yan’s eye, the smiles they exchanged deepened.
After Jian Song returned from throwing away the useless junk, he immediately tried to chase Lu Yingchi away. “Alright, hurry up and go back to your own seat.”
Lu Yingchi was not upset. He picked up his few books and moved from Jian Song’s seat back to his own. After class, Jian Song went out to play with his lackeys, leaving Lu Yingchi alone at his desk.
The handsome, lone Alpha soon attracted the Omegas and Betas in the class. Some female Omegas leaned in, faces flushed, speaking in soft whispers. “Student Lu, are you not afraid Jian Song will bully you sitting there?”
Lu Yingchi’s eyes flickered, and he smiled gently. “Student Jian seems very easy to get along with.”
Lu Yingchi’s words caused a stir among the students, who began to chatter excitedly.
“What! You actually think Brother Jian is easy to get along with?”
“Do you know he once fought four Alphas from another school and took them all down?”
“Our Brother Jian is the toughest Alpha in the whole school!”
Lu Yingchi listened quietly to everyone’s evaluation of Jian Song. Although they mostly talked about how good he was at fighting, their tone lacked any real fear; instead, it carried a teasing note.
Lu Yingchi smiled faintly. After listening to their discussion, he remarked, “Jian Song is quite interesting.”
Jian Song, having just returned from playing, only caught the word “interesting.” He walked over curiously and asked, “What is interesting?”
Seeing Jian Song return, and knowing he had heard part of the conversation, Lu Yingchi responded under his intense gaze, “I was saying that you are interesting.”
This sentence made the surrounding students burst into laughter. “Brother Jian, he says you are interesting! Hahaha!”
Jian Song gave Lu Yingchi a look as if he were looking at an idiot. “Are you sick?”
Lu Yingchi shrugged. “Maybe.”
Jian Song, having just returned from playing, was covered in sweat and radiating a faint, sweet scent of pheromones. Lu Yingchi’s nose twitched slightly.
When the bell rang for class, Jian Song immediately buried his head to sleep as soon as he sat down. The teacher did not bother him, continuing with the lesson. Seeing this, Lu Yingchi reached out and poked Jian Song’s arm, successfully earning an impatient look.
“What do you want?”
Lu Yingchi feigned confusion. “Do you not need to listen to the lecture?”
Jian Song scoffed. “Brother here never studies.”
Lu Yingchi leaned in a little closer, appearing puzzled. “Why is that?”
Jian Song’s sweet, chocolatey pheromones drifted directly toward Lu Yingchi’s nose. Lu Yingchi curled his lips in satisfaction and leaned in even closer.
Jian Song, who was completely oblivious, leaned back comfortably and said, “Because Brother here is a genius.”
Jiang Qi, who had been eavesdropping from the front, could not help but laugh when he heard this. He turned around to debunk Jian Song’s claim. “Brother Jian, what did you say? You are a genius? Hahaha!”
Jiang Qi laughed heartily. He looked at Lu Yingchi and asked, “Do you know what score Brother Jian got on his last monthly exam?”
