Straight Corporate Slave Accidentally Stumbles into the School's F4 - Chapter 22
Chapter 22
So uncomfortable.
Looking at the weather forecast this morning, today’s weather was bad. The sky remained dark throughout the morning, and it was said it would rain in the afternoon and evening.
By now, the weather had already begun to shift; it had turned gloomy.
Around the storage room was a corridor. Qiao Nai wanted to go out to the corridor to see if it was raining, but as he neared the door, he remembered Ferrio’s words.
Ferrio said to stay here and not move around.
Qiao Nai had no choice but to return the way he came and go back to the window.
Ever since he discovered his oat allergy, Qiao Nai hadn’t touched oats for many years. His last allergic reaction was eight or nine years ago when he was in university.
His allergy symptoms were very obvious. Back then, he was too thirsty after a physical education test and didn’t have time to check the label on the ingredients list before drinking. He accidentally consumed nearly half a bottle of milk containing oats. A moment later, his body reacted.
Skin swelling was a minor issue; he almost couldn’t breathe, felt chest tightness and shortness of breath, nausea, and vomiting it was very serious. Fortunately, he realized it in time and went to the infirmary, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable.
He had been fine for all these years, and it hadn’t recurred.
He originally thought that since he had transmigrated, these symptoms wouldn’t appear anymore. After all, Kablai said that Qiao An drank oat milk most often, so he definitely shouldn’t be allergic. He didn’t expect to fall for it after all, though it wasn’t as severe as before; at least there was no life-threatening feeling. His breathing improved a lot after opening the window slightly.
There were no stools in the storage room, but there were a few relatively clean tables in the corner. Not knowing where Ferrio had gone and feeling a bit tired from standing for a long while, Qiao Nai propped himself up on the nearest table and sat on it.
An allergy cannot be scratched; the more you scratch, the itchier it gets. Qiao Nai forced himself not to touch it randomly and tried to distract himself.
But it was truly uncontrollable.
The itch was exceptionally uncomfortable, as if thousands of ants were crawling all over his body.
Qiao Nai pulled off his scarf and took off his coat, but it was still very itchy.
Even trying to shift his focus didn’t work.
Perhaps it was a psychological effect, but the quieter the surroundings became, the more obvious that uncomfortable sensation grew; it was truly hard to endure.
Qiao Nai was wearing a low-neck sweater inside. The collar was a bit too low, to the extent that his collarbones were clearly visible.
There was no one else around, so Qiao Nai tried to tug it downward.
The hotter his body felt, the more obvious this sensation became; only a cool breeze could provide some relief.
Time passed minute by minute. From only having an itchy body at first, now even his eyes began to feel itchy. The next step would likely reach his respiratory tract.
Qiao Nai held onto the table, trying to find some relief, but it didn’t have much effect.
The overcast sky outside the window finally turned completely dark. The light rain was skipped entirely, and a torrential downpour cascaded down.
Just as Qiao Nai was about to lose control, footsteps sounded outside the door. Immediately after, the door opened, and Ferrio appeared before his eyes.
“So uncomfortable,” Qiao Nai’s voice was full of pain.
Seeing Qiao Nai’s neck covered in red rashes, Ferrio could no longer worry about anything else. He threw his things to the side, hesitated for a moment, and ultimately took off that low-neck sweater for Qiao Nai.
“Endure it for a bit. I’m going to help you apply the medicine now.”
“The doctor said the allergic areas should be cleaned first, ideally with a shower,” Ferrio tightly gripped Qiao Nai’s sweater. “But there are too many people outside and no place to shower nearby. I’ve already called the driver; he’ll be here soon. Let’s apply some medicine to ease it first.”
When Ferrio said this, he hadn’t completely taken off Qiao Nai’s clothes yet. Halfway through, he hesitated for a moment: “You…”
“It’s okay, take it off.” Qiao Nai seemed to know what Ferrio wanted to ask him, but he just hadn’t expected that Ferrio had gone out specifically to buy medicine for him.
“Mm.”
Ferrio took off Qiao Nai’s sweater, turned around, took an ice pack and a dry towel from the shopping bag, wrapped them together, and handed them to Qiao Nai: “Apply a cold compress first; it can provide some relief.”
Qiao Nai had red spots in many places. His back was alright, but the spots on his front abdomen and chest were very obvious, in addition to his neck.
“I’ll apply the medicine myself, I can reach.” Qiao Nai took the ice pack wrapped in the towel, applied it to the side of his neck with one hand, and reached out with the other to take the ointment. In an instant, a chill spread through his skin, and his neck finally felt less uncomfortable.
Ferrio grabbed the ointment first and didn’t hand it to Qiao Nai: “You apply the compress, I’ll help you with the medicine.”
After speaking, he seemed to feel it was somewhat inappropriate and worried Qiao Nai might overthink it, so he added: “This way is faster, you won’t be in so much pain.”
Qiao Nai’s hand, extended in the air, froze for a moment, then he withdrew it and nodded: “Oh.”
“Do you know how to apply medicine?” Qiao Nai couldn’t help but ask.
A young master who had lived a privileged life since childhood probably hadn’t experienced helping someone apply medicine before, right?
Sure enough, just as Qiao Nai thought, Ferrio’s technique was truly amateur.
“The tinfoil on top is hard to open. You can flip the cap over; there’s a sharp point on it,” Qiao Nai patiently guided the young master in front of him. “Aim the sharp point at the tinfoil and press, then it will open.”
The tinfoil at the mouth of the tube was small and tight, making it hard to tear by hand, and there were no sharp objects around. If Qiao Nai hadn’t reminded him, Ferrio truly wouldn’t have noticed the sharp point on the top of the cap.
When he called his private doctor, the doctor told him to bring the person in for an examination to prevent any issues. Ferrio had originally intended to take Qiao Nai there, but then he suddenly thought of the words Qiao Nai had said to him that he was a profligate dandy who spent money like water.
Since Qiao Nai had mistaken him for someone else, then let the mistake continue. Ferrio didn’t want to reveal his true identity right now.
So, in the end, Ferrio only brought back a few tubes of medicine.
The medicine was open, but a new problem arose.
How to apply it?
Ferrio had never applied medicine to anyone in his life; he was always the one being treated by others. He didn’t know what to buy and only heard a bunch of professional drug names from the private doctor.
The medicine was brought, but the cotton swabs were forgotten.
“It’s fine, just apply it directly with your hands,” Qiao Nai saw through Ferrio’s thoughts. “If you think it’ll get your hands dirty, just give it to me. I can apply it myself.”
Ferrio still wouldn’t give it: “I’ll use my hands to help you. Move closer to me. I’m too far away from you; you know, I have to be close to see clearly.”
What Ferrio said didn’t seem like much at first. Qiao Nai huddled his body together, making it inconvenient for Ferrio to apply the medicine. But when he actually moved closer, he always felt there was something strange about this posture, an indescribable strangeness.
What’s wrong with this!
Even when pulling teeth, one is lying down.
Not strange at all, Qiao Nai told himself.
“I can’t get close,” Ferrio spoke with a serious expression.
Qiao Nai had finally managed to make himself accept that it was nothing, but hearing this, his minutes of effort collapsed.
Qiao Nai propped his other hand on the table and tried hard to spread his legs completely wide: “…Is this okay?”
“Mm, it’s fine.”
Ferrio moved his body forward. When he looked down to squeeze out the ointment, his hair brushed against Qiao Nai’s chest.
His body was already itchy enough.
With this brush from Ferrio, not only was his body itchy, but his heart began to feel itchy as well.
So Qiao Nai, with red ears, turned his head to look out the window, trying to distract himself.
