“Cut!” Before Xu Chi could even respond to Gu Jingxuan, Director Jiang halted the scene.

“Two grown men kissing, can’t you just actually do it? Why are you staging the angle? At this position, the audience will see right through it!”

Director Jiang was very meticulous about his filming. If he could avoid staging a shot, he would; if he could avoid using a stunt double, he made the actors do it themselves.

Xu Chi’s face flushed an uncontrollable red. His eyes darted around, unable to focus on anything. Gu Jingxuan released his hold on Xu Chi’s waist and gave an indifferent shrug.

“I have no problem with it. I’ve kissed plenty of people in my career anyway. It just depends on whether little Xu Chi is too shy.”

Director Jiang shot Gu Jingxuan a dry look, clearly used to his antics. “Can’t you be serious for once? You’re like a social butterfly fluttering around every day.”

“Pffft.” Hearing Director Jiang’s description, Xu Chi couldn’t hold back a laugh. He immediately covered his mouth and blinked innocently at Gu Jingxuan.

“Fine, fine. So I’m a butterfly in your eyes. Well, this butterfly is ready to go gather some nectar now, so let’s get the cameras rolling,” Gu Jingxuan said, feigning offense as he glared at Xu Chi and pulled him back into position. “I’m really going to kiss you this time.”

Xu Chi nodded, feeling the heat radiating from his own face. After a moment of thought, he replied to Gu Jingxuan, “I’ve kissed plenty of people too.”

Gu Jingxuan was momentarily choked up, unsure how to retort. He laughed and lightly rapped Xu Chi on the head. “Why are you so obedient? You just agree with whatever I say. If I sold you off one day, would you help me count the money?”

Xu Chi instinctively nodded, which sent a ripple of laughter through the surrounding crew. Gu Jingxuan was left speechless by the boy’s earnestness, laughing so hard he almost teared up.

“Scene 49, Take 5! Action!”

Gu Jingxuan pulled Xu Chi into his arms and kissed him squarely on the lips without a hint of hesitation. His teeth lightly grazed Xu Chi’s lower lip. Finally, he nudged Xu Chi’s teeth apart and let his tongue slip inside.

Xu Chi, who had never shared a French kiss with anyone in his life, was completely overwhelmed. He stood there dazed, his mouth slightly open, allowing Gu Jingxuan’s tongue to entangle with his.

Gu Jingxuan hadn’t originally intended to use his tongue, but Xu Chi’s lips were so soft—just like jelly. The moment he pressed against them, he couldn’t resist going deeper, wanting more.

His hand slid down Xu Chi’s waist, giving a light pinch at the side. He felt the person in his arms tremble. Breaking away from those soft lips, Gu Jingxuan caught Xu Chi’s eye and whispered into his ear.

“Your mouth tastes quite good. But spacing out during a kiss? Is my technique that bad?”

Gu Jingxuan’s words snapped Xu Chi back to reality. That deliberately deepened kiss had undoubtedly caused him to lose his focus. From the spot where Gu Jingxuan had pinched his waist, the entire half of Xu Chi’s body still felt numb.

Xu Chi was most sensitive to people speaking into his ear, especially when that person was Gu Jingxuan. He reflexively leaped a good distance away. Then, awkwardly touching his nose, he said with a hint of apology, “No… no, I was just thinking about the plot. I’m not angry with you.”
