Xue Xingqi’s clever schemes completely fell through that night.
Pei Nan spent half the night sleeping with his back turned to him in a huff. It wasn’t until the latter half of the night thanks to Xue lowering the room temperature before bed that he finally managed to pull Pei Nan into his arms.
Throughout the night, Pei Nan slept like a little pig, his body warm and toasted. Naked under the covers, he felt incredibly comfortable. In that half-awake, half-dreaming state, he twisted his body to stretch his muscles. Just as his arm was halfway extended, it was blocked by something.
Pei Nan didn’t yet have the conscious awareness of sharing a bed with someone. When he encountered something blocking him, he would only push harder, not even bothering to open his eyes to see what it was. Xue Xingqi, who had just fallen asleep holding Pei Nan, was tossed awake by this struggle.
“Morning,” Xue Xingqi said with bleary eyes, giving Pei Nan a morning kiss at the first opportunity.
Pei Nan was startled. “Why are you in my bed?”
“If I’m not here, where should I be?”
Memories of the previous night gradually flooded back. The embarrassment from the night before wasn’t as lethal after a night’s sleep, but seeing Xue Xingqi’s face still made his heart skip a beat. He stiffened his neck and said, “Being here is one thing, but who gave you permission to launch a sneak attack on me in the middle of the night!”
He defined Xue Xingqi’s act of hugging him as a “sneak attack.” In reality, it was close enough, but Xue Xingqi didn’t agree. He tilted his head and spoke quite reasonably, “How can a hug between a real couple be considered a sneak attack? At most, it’s called ‘losing oneself to passion.’ I look at you, I want to hold you, I want to kiss you, and I want to do the things we should do in bed with you.”
Xue Xingqi’s handsome face remained dead serious. “If this bed cannot provide us with comfort and pleasure, then it loses its original purpose. Just like this hotel with such a beautiful night view if we don’t look at the city’s heavy traffic through the floor-to-ceiling windows, we lose part of the fun.”
“Oh, really? If ‘this part’ of you wasn’t being so dishonest while you said that, I might believe two or three percent of it,” Pei Nan snorted coldly. Deliberately ignoring the scorching heat pressing against him, he lowered his body to close in on Xue Xingqi’s face. “Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking. You’re not the only one with a mind full of yellow waste [dirty thoughts].”
Pei Nan’s teasing tone and rebellious gaze were essentially the keys that unlocked the source of Xue Xingqi’s desire. Xue smiled with composure, as if he had split himself into two halves: the upper body was a refined, noble gentleman, while the lower body was a total rogue.
He pressed Pei Nan’s head down for a deep, wet kiss, looking at him with misty eyes. His voice was full of temptation, making it difficult for anyone to say no: “Then, do you want to try?”
Using his face as a weapon, Xue Xingqi blew the doors to Pei Nan’s heart wide open.
Pei Nan no longer remembered exactly how he was coaxed. He only knew that Xue Xingqi was “hard to swallow,” and it wasn’t as simple or as joyous as the man had claimed.
He realized belatedly that he seemed to have been tricked, but once you’re on a pirate ship, it’s not so easy to get off.
Xue Xingqi pulled him into cooperation. The two men, both with long arms and legs, wrestled back and forth on the bed. Later, when the bed became wet, Xue Xingqi carried Pei Nan to the floor. To fulfill his earlier boast, he placed Pei Nan directly in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
The two of them huddled together in front of the window, arguing over whether or not to open the curtains.
“It’s… daylight. If you want to be… ah… humiliated… do it yourself,” Pei Nan struggled to express his opinion. A single sentence was interrupted two or three times by Xue Xingqi’s thrusts. In a fit of shame and anger, he bit him, using action to protest.
Xue Xingqi’s spine tingled. He grabbed Pei Nan’s chin, pulled him back for a kiss, and compromised quickly: “Fine, we won’t open them.”
He wasn’t as generous as he had imagined. Even knowing that at such a high floor, no one could possibly see Pei Nan’s appearance, he didn’t want to take the risk. He wouldn’t let anyone else see Pei Nan’s flushed face while he was immersed in lust.
By the time they finished fooling around and left the hotel, it was already evening. Xue Xingqi looked refreshed, while Pei Nan was even more tired than the night before. But this time, no matter what, he wouldn’t let Xue Xingqi carry him. In his own words: “I, Pei Nan, have been strong all my life. If the first time I show weakness is seen by your parents, what will they think of me? How will I have a say in this family in the future?”
Xue Xingqi tirelessly explained to him, “My parents will only be happy that you can suppress me. I’ve really never carried anyone else on my back except you. Seeing me carry you, they’d be more than happy. Last night they were just too shocked. Next time, once they’re prepared, they’ll definitely pull out their phones to record a video and laugh at me.”
“Laugh at you for what?” Pei Nan was puzzled.
“Laugh at me for what? Naturally, they’ll laugh at me for being a ‘henpecked husband’ [fearing the wife].” Xue Xingqi’s smile was simply too beautiful. While Pei Nan’s eyes were busy admiring the beauty, his ears seemed to have lost their function, causing him to completely miss what Xue Xingqi had said.
Seeing that Pei Nan had no reaction to the title, Xue Xingqi couldn’t help but call out softly again, “Wife.”
“Huh? Who are you calling wife?” Pei Nan snapped back to reality. “You’re not allowed to call me wife. I’m not a girl.”
“Fine, fine, I won’t,” Xue Xingqi said, immediately changing his tune to avoid making Pei Nan explode. “Calling you Nannan is also very nice.”
Pei Nan thought to himself that neither of those was good, but being called by a nickname was better than being called “wife.”
At this moment, Pei Nan didn’t yet realize that a person’s bottom line is lowered bit by bit like this. Before, Xue Xingqi only called him Nannan in front of his mother; now, Xue Xingqi could call him Nannan directly. After another while, who knows what he’ll be calling him.
The next day, the two returned to school. Xue Xingqi went to class, and Pei Nan suddenly found himself with nothing to do. The most exciting competitions were over, and his training intensity had decreased. He was just waiting for the spring intensive training, leaving these two months in between feeling exceptionally long.
When he had no classes or training, he either accompanied Xue Xingqi to handle work or followed him to class. Six months ago, he wouldn’t have believed in a million years that one day he would find a boyfriend and stick to him so clingily.
“What are we eating for dinner?” Xue Xingqi came out of the study and hugged Pei Nan, who was playing games on the sofa.
Pei Nan was at a critical moment in his game and didn’t look up, saying they should order takeout. Only after he sent the opponent back to their base did he add a few more words: “Let’s have roast duck. I want to gnaw on salted crispy duck bones.”
Xue Xingqi hummed in response, took out his phone, and while holding Pei Nan with one arm, called their usual roast duck shop to place an order.
By the time he hung up, Pei Nan’s round had just finished. He tossed his phone aside and hugged Xue Xingqi back. The two looked at each other and smiled, sharing a soft kiss. The atmosphere was so good that as soon as their lips parted, they pressed together again. Xue Xingqi applied a bit of force, pressing Pei Nan down onto the sofa. His fingers threaded through Pei Nan’s soft hair, and his heart felt equally soft.
Being firmly pressed down by Xue Xingqi, Pei Nan soon found it hard to breathe. He used both hands and feet to push him away. Xue Xingqi hadn’t had enough and pulled Pei Nan up to sit on him. The height difference excited Pei Nan, who held Xue Xingqi’s face and kissed him incessantly.
He squinted his eyes comfortably, being meticulously cared for from top to bottom. Xue Xingqi’s fingers were long and powerful; usually, when holding a pen or typing, they looked like moving sculptures sexy and cold. But Pei Nan knew the temperature of these hands; everywhere they wandered, they could ignite the dark fire within his body.
As they were about to cross the line, he couldn’t help but press down on Xue Xingqi’s hand. They had been fooling around so much lately that it felt a bit excessive. He felt a slight discomfort in his stomach and wanted to enjoy his meal properly tonight, rather than letting Xue Xingqi go all the way.
Xue Xingqi also understood Pei Nan’s meaning. He nibbled on Pei Nan’s plump lower lip, which had been sucked red. “Be good and let go. I’ll just hold you.”
Just as Pei Nan was debating whether to let go, the doorbell rang, and the phone beside them buzzed.
The takeout had arrived.
Pei Nan rolled to the side and gestured for Xue Xingqi to go get it. “Quick, quick, I’m hungry.”
Pei Nan was truly hungry. Lately, there were so many things he wanted to eat; not only was he eating more, but he also got hungry faster. Sometimes, the first thing he did after getting out of bed wasn’t taking a shower, but going to the kitchen to cook himself a meal. However, these cooking attempts usually ended in failure because Xue Xingqi would always sneak up from behind, reaching into his apron (under which he wore nothing), and then a new round of “communication” would unfold in the kitchen.
Every time he complained, Xue Xingqi was full of justifications.
“Your legs are so long and white, and your butt is so round, perky, and flushed, swaying right in front of my eyes. What choice do I have?”
Xue Xingqi had no choice, and Pei Nan had no choice either. Because regardless of whether he wore anything or not, Xue Xingqi would find a way to do those things. Who would have guessed that a man with such a pure, ascetic face could actually keep someone in bed for a day and a night without letting them down?
Pei Nan had learned his lesson. Why cook himself? He just ordered takeout in advance, resolutely giving Xue Xingqi no room to maneuver.
Xue Xingqi opened the food containers one by one and arranged them on the dining table before calling Pei Nan over. He even held up a pre-rolled roast duck wrap, waiting to feed Pei Nan.
With meat in his stomach and duck bones to satisfy his cravings, Pei Nan felt much better. He curled up on the sofa, looking for a movie to watch. Xue Xingqi cleaned up the mess and washed some fruit; lately, Pei Nan was always on his phone or watching TV, so he needed to eat some blueberries to protect his eyes.
“Let’s watch this one today. A thriller the online reviews are quite high.”
Xue Xingqi had no objection. He was purely there to accompany Pei Nan. He pulled the man into his arms, his arm wrapped around Pei Nan’s waist. The “Dragon Mark” intro had just finished playing, and before the movie even started, Xue Xingqi’s hands were already getting restless.
“Stop fiddling around. You’re distracting me from the movie. I’ll hit you in a minute,” Pei Nan warned while popping blueberries into his mouth one by one.
“Okay, you watch.” Xue Xingqi behaved for a moment. His palm rested against Pei Nan’s stomach, rising and falling with his breathing. Before long, he started moving again.
This time, he seemed to have made a new discovery. One moment he was holding Pei Nan’s waist with both hands, the next he was pinching the flesh on Pei Nan’s stomach. Just as Pei Nan was losing his patience and slapped his hand away, Xue Xingqi asked in a surprised tone:
“Nannan, have you put on weight?”
