She’s Fiercer Than Zombies - Chapter 25.2
The dagger pierced the zombie’s brain, and Qiao Gaogao could clearly feel the unusual hardness of its skull. This zombie’s physical defenses were significantly higher than others.
From its brain, she dug out a pure brown crystal core.
Looking at the core, Qiao Gaogao couldn’t help but smile, wondering what would happen when her senior absorbed such a crystal.
Ignoring the now completely mangled zombie on the ground, she casually bandaged the wound on her arm. When she had exited the building earlier, many zombies had been drawn by the scent of her blood and charged at her. The ordinary zombies were swiftly dispatched with an iron spike, while the higher-level ones became her source of crystal cores. Soon, the ground was littered with zombie corpses.
Perhaps her blood was particularly enticing to the zombies, as another one appeared, clearly more formidable than the gray-crystal zombies. This one, however, was more cautious. It first roared, commanding the other zombies to attack Qiao Gaogao, attempting to wear her down through attrition.
Roar!
A familiar roar suddenly reached Qiao Gaogao’s ears. She froze for a moment before turning to look.
Roar!
Yinxi’s steps were slow, and though her weakness was evident, she persisted in roaring, trying to control the zombies. Strangely enough, she actually seemed to influence them!
As Yinxi roared, Qiao Gaogao could clearly sense the hesitation among the zombies surrounding her, as if they were uncertain whose commands to follow.
Knowing Yinxi wouldn’t last much longer, Qiao Gaogao stepped on the shoulders of the ordinary zombies and charged straight at the high-level zombie. Each of her attacks was delivered with full force, aiming to eliminate the threat as quickly as possible. Once that zombie was gone, the rest would pose little danger.
Roar!
Yinxi’s appearance clearly enraged the high-level zombie. Ignoring the injuries inflicted by Qiao Gaogao’s attacks, it abruptly turned and charged toward Yinxi, intent on devouring her first. Without her interference, dealing with the human would be much easier.
“You’re asking for death!” Qiao Gaogao would never let it harm Yinxi. With a sweeping kick, she sent the zombie flying backward. Before it could recover from the fall, she rushed forward and pierced its brain!
Until its death, the zombie likely never understood why this human had suddenly erupted with such incredible speed.
Qiao Gaogao dug out the crystal core from its brain, then hurried to catch Yinxi before she collapsed, carrying her swiftly away from the zombie encirclement.
Back in the car, Qiao Gaogao immediately checked on Yinxi. “Senior, how are you feeling?”
It was clear that her earlier actions had exhausted her. Now, half-closing her eyes, she leaned against the seat, her face looking even paler and more ashen.
Qiao Gaogao took out the crystal core and tried to place it in her mouth. Just as she was about to do so, Yinxi suddenly raised her hand and grabbed her wrist. Her half-closed eyes snapped open, her gaze fixed intently on Qiao Gaogao’s bleeding arm.
Thinking she was worried about the injury, Qiao Gaogao quickly reassured her, “It’s fine. Just absorb the crystal core first.”
Yinxi avoided the crystal core being offered to her, her eyes still locked on the wound. Her throat moved slightly, and she seemed unable to restrain herself as she leaned closer.
So, fragrant… Her Gaogao was truly so fragrant.
Qiao Gaogao was momentarily stunned by the gesture, her gaze dropping to her own arm. Then, with swift movements, she pressed the bleeding wound against Yinxi’s lips. Watching as her blood stained half of Yinxi’s face, Qiao Gaogao coaxed softly, “Do you want a taste, Senior?”
“Mm!”
Yinxi flinched as if startled, turning her head to the side. Her pupils held a trace of fear as she desperately tried to evade Qiao Gaogao’s closeness.
Gaogao, now bleeding, smelled even more enticing.
Yinxi fought hard to suppress her instincts, but Qiao Gaogao seemed determined to tempt her. Seeing Yinxi turn away, she bent down and deliberately drew more blood from her own wound. Then, cupping Yinxi’s face, she pulled her close and kissed her!
“!”
The sweet, metallic taste of blood exploded in Yinxi’s mouth, her eyes turning red with intensity. She stared wide-eyed in disbelief at the person so close to her. Her lips were pried apart, and the sweet blood was directly transferred into her mouth.
Yinxi didn’t dare resist too forcefully, nor did she dare bite her. She could only submit, forced to open her mouth and accept everything Qiao Gaogao gave her. Even after Yinxi had swallowed all the blood, Qiao Gaogao didn’t pull away. Instead, she grew bolder, trying to coax Yinxi into responding to her kiss.
Yinxi could only shrink back, trembling, attempting to evade the kiss.
This was the first time the two had kissed so deeply. In the past, it had only been brief, light touches on the lips. But this time, it was so daring!
“Mmph!”
Yinxi began to struggle. If this continued, she feared Qiao Gaogao might devour her whole!
Qiao Gaogao finally released her lips, panting as she gazed at Yinxi’s now flushed, moist lips. She wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but Yinxi’s complexion seemed to have improved.
Under the intensity of Qiao Gaogao’s unwavering gaze, Yinxi grew embarrassed, her eyes darting around to avoid meeting hers. But Qiao Gaogao showed no signs of relenting. Unable to bear it any longer, Yinxi turned back and let out an angry growl.
Once again being growled at by her senior, Qiao Gaogao laughed happily instead. Seeing Yinxi regain some of her vitality, she began to understand the answer.
After all, her senior’s true nature now was that of a zombie.
And zombies craved blood.
It could be said that Qiao Gaogao had a latent streak of madness. The moment she realized Yinxi had a special reaction to her blood, she didn’t hesitate to draw blood from herself and transfer it directly into Yinxi’s mouth.
“Senior, you’ve known all along why your body has been weakening, haven’t you?” Qiao Gaogao asked, staring intently into her eyes. Otherwise, why would she have been avoiding her so desperately?
Yinxi averted her gaze, refusing to look at her. But Qiao Gaogao cupped her face, forcing her to meet her eyes. No matter where Yinxi tried to look, Qiao Gaogao’s image remained firmly in her line of sight.
“…”
Yinxi glared at her in frustration. How could this person be so relentless? Had her affection truly faded?
Qiao Gaogao felt an urge to laugh under her glare, her voice sweet and soft with a hint of coaxing, “What would it matter if you told me? Look how worried we were before!”
After all, her senior was already a zombie now. What was wrong with a zombie drinking a little blood or eating some flesh? Wasn’t that perfectly normal?
Yinxi: “…”
“Fortunately, we’re not at the base right now,” Qiao Gaogao mused, stroking her chin. If others saw Yinxi drinking fresh blood, it would probably scare them out of their wits. Many people, especially the newly arrived survivors, were already wary and fearful of Yinxi. If they found out, she had no doubt what they would say.
They would surely demand that she kill Yinxi immediately to eliminate any future threat.
Qiao Gaogao mentally scoffed. Those people really overestimated themselves, how could she ever harm Yinxi for their sake?
They had even demanded restrictions on Yinxi’s movements, but Qiao Gaogao had designated large areas where those people were forbidden to go, while Yinxi could roam freely there.
Sometimes, Qiao Gaogao just couldn’t understand their way of thinking. They had rescued these survivors, brought them back, and provided them with a degree of safety. Yet once they settled in, they started dictating how the hosts should run things.
Yinxi fell silent after hearing her words, but more than that, she felt a simmering frustration. How could she not understand what Qiao Gaogao meant? It was basically saying she would scare those people!
Yinxi gritted her teeth in anger but had to accept reality. Given the current circumstances, she and humans were on opposing sides it was only natural for them to be wary of her.
She pointed at Qiao Gaogao’s arm, signaling her to hurry up and bandage it.
Qiao Gaogao glanced casually at her arm, then carefully observed Yinxi’s noticeably improved complexion. Just a little blood had a better effect than a crystal core she couldn’t help feeling a bit eager to try again.
Yinxi immediately understood what she was thinking from her expression and roared angrily in her face, urging her to bandage the wound quickly and warning that if she dared feed her blood again, she would ignore her forever!
Qiao Gaogao looked a bit embarrassed but didn’t dare joke about this. After quickly bandaging herself, she took a wet wipe and cleaned the blood off Yinxi’s face, asking in a placating tone, “Do you drink any kind of blood?”
If she could drink any blood, Qiao Gaogao thought they might check the blood bank at the hospital. Given the strict management of blood banks, the blood inside probably hadn’t spoiled that quickly, right?
“Roar!” No!
“But if you don’t drink, you’ll be like before needing me to carry you everywhere,” Qiao Gaogao said, pretending to be troubled. Yinxi had been so weak earlier she couldn’t even stand, and Qiao Gaogao had been shocked to see her appear in the commercial district.
Yinxi: “…”
“Then we’ll try more later.” Seeing her lack of response, Qiao Gaogao took it upon herself. If zombies had to consume flesh and blood, she would help her senior prepare it. With that thought, she pinched Yinxi’s chin to make her open her mouth and slipped her index finger inside to feel around.
Sure enough.
“With teeth like these, who could you possibly bite out there?” Qiao Gaogao said with concern. She felt that her senior’s canine teeth were rounded and smooth, completely lacking in lethality nothing like the long fangs of the zombies outside, which could tear off a chunk of flesh with one bite.
Yinxi: “…”
“Roar!”
Yinxi was furious, how could someone be so blunt about her shortcomings!
Seeing her anger, Qiao Gaogao pursed her lips into an obedient, sweet smile.
“That’s fine too. When I kiss you, I won’t have to worry about scraping my tongue.”
“…”
