She Said That Kisses and Hugs Are Needed for Redemption [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 32
“Yes, we are going back to my house first.” Lu Xi knew that Chi Xingcen was quite strong-willed and would not want to live under someone else’s roof. However, since Chi Xingcen had just broken away from the Chi family, if she did not go to Lu Xi’s place, she likely had nowhere else to go.
To reduce Chi Xingcen’s sense of rejection, Lu Xi thoughtfully added, “Once you obtain the shares that belong to you, you can go wherever you wish.”
This meant she would not force her to do anything.
Inside the hospital, where night had fallen, the lights remained brightly lit. The fluorescent glow fell upon the shoulders of the two women. Through the light reflected in Lu Xi’s eyes, Chi Xingcen saw her own wretched and disheveled state.
She thought that her current self had nothing; all she possessed was this Alpha’s guilt and desire to make amends. If she wanted to take back everything that belonged to her, she would likely need this Alpha’s help.
After all, considering that the Alpha could bring her away from the Ming family’s territory unscathed and that nothing had gone wrong so far, the power the Alpha held was likely not lower than that of the Ming family, one of the nine great families in the capital.
After thinking for a long time, Chi Xingcen’s resistance toward the Alpha protecting her indeed lessened quite a bit.
Exiting the hospital, she remained silent and followed the elegant Alpha into the back seat. The slowly rising window shut out the dim streetlights; the sudden darkness inside the car made her close her eyes instinctively.
Then, she heard her own voice ring out in the night. “I truly do need your help right now. Let us treat this as a transaction; I owe you a favor. If there is a place where you need my help in the future, I will do my best to assist you. What do you think?”
She did not know the Alpha’s identity, but she had a faint feeling that the Alpha might never have a day where she needed her help. Still, she would keep this kindness in her heart and repay it to the best of her ability. Besides, if she eventually gained the power to trample the Ming family under her feet, why couldn’t she provide assistance to the Alpha?
After all, she was still young, and everything was still unknown.
At this moment, Lu Xi was unaware of the shifting emotions in Chi Xingcen’s heart. She was still arguing in her mind with the cunning 001 about the upcoming plot.
“Anyway, once she goes back with you, the ‘Golden House’ plot will begin. This is a major scene for the two of you to cultivate your feelings. You cannot mess it up!”
Hearing the phrase “Golden House,” Lu Xi felt a headache coming on. She did not want to play out some “Overbearing CEO falls for me” melodrama. Moreover, Chi Xingcen’s personality did not seem like that of a delicate flower that survived by clinging to a CEO. If she truly wanted to help her, she should let her get what she wanted.
“Chi Xingcen would not be willing to live under someone’s protection forever. I suggest you think carefully about how to adjust the plot.” Lu Xi discussed this seriously with 001 for a long time before reaching this conclusion.
Upon hearing this, 001 also fell silent for a moment. It silently deleted and edited the plot it had just added, and finally told Lu Xi in a righteous tone that she did not have to follow that specific plot.
001 had originally intended to tweak the plot slightly to watch a good show between these two people who had loved and killed each other for so long. Unfortunately, since Lu Xi was not interested, it gave up; after all, that part of the plot hadn’t been written by “that person” anyway.
The car entered a vast estate and stopped at the main entrance, where servants were already waiting to open the door.
Lu Xi got out of the car and walked to Chi Xingcen’s side. “The house has already prepared a room for you. If there is anything you are not used to, you can tell Butler Xu.”
Then, she introduced Chi Xingcen to the group of people waiting. “This is my friend. She will be staying here. From now on, I leave her daily needs in your hands.”
As she led the slightly dazed girl inside, just as they stepped onto the stairs, the rapid sound of high heels echoed out. A sweet scent wafted toward them. Lu Xi looked up and saw a girl running toward the door.
“It is so late. Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
Yun Momo did not answer Lu Xi. Her tearful gaze fell upon Chi Xingcen, who was standing beside Lu Xi. After staring intently for a long time, she bit her lower lip and asked with repressed anxiety, “Sister, who is she?”
Chi Xingcen sensed the intense hostility in the girl’s eyes. She speculated about the relationship between her and the Alpha, and her footsteps came to a halt.
“My friend, Chi Xingcen.” Lu Xi gave a brief explanation, but seeing the girl had not followed her, she glanced back. Seeing her hesitant and struggling expression, Lu Xi walked back and simply took the girl’s soft hand. “What are you dazing out for? Come upstairs with me first.”
Chi Xingcen was stunned for a moment. As she was led forward, she looked down at the Alpha’s hand holding hers, her heart filled with surprise. She had thought the girl was the Alpha’s girlfriend or wife and was wondering if she should still use the Alpha’s guilt to achieve her goals in such a case.
But now that the Alpha had taken the initiative to hold her hand, it seemed their relationship was not like that. That was good.
The two women, looking quite intimate, walked into the house. Yun Momo stared fixedly at Lu Xi and Chi Xingcen’s joined hands, finding the scene an eyesore. However, there was nothing she could do, so she could only stomp her foot in anger and run back to her room in tears.
Lu Xi’s room was on the third floor, and the room the servants had prepared for Chi Xingcen was right next to hers.
After bringing Chi Xingcen into the room, Lu Xi handed her her phone. “Can I have your phone number?”
The screen was on the “New Contact” page. Chi Xingcen looked down and saw the name Lu Xi had noted for her. She did not hesitate; she took the phone and entered her number.
Lu Xi took the phone back, memorized the number, and pressed the call button.
A ringing sound followed. Chi Xingcen pulled out her own phone and saw an unfamiliar number.
“Save my number as well. If there is anything you dislike or aren’t used to, please tell me immediately.” Lu Xi shook the phone in her hand and walked out of the room. “Goodnight.”
The door closed with a click, and the atmosphere in the room seemed to hit a pause button. Chi Xingcen let out a sudden sigh of relief and then dragged her exhausted body to sit on the bed. She looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings. The emotions she had been suppressing all day suddenly erupted, and her face turned extremely pale.
It turned out she truly was homeless.
It was already the early hours of the morning. As the heir of the Lu family, Lu Xi was still in her study, processing various documents. When she was nearly finished, she leaned back, stretched, and dialed a number.
“How is the investigation I asked you to do?”
On the other end of the phone, Lu Qian’s voice was somewhat hesitant. “Young Master, our people have only found that Chi Xianrang had contact with the old master of the Ming family, but we haven’t found out what they discussed that day yet.”
Lu Xi pinched the bridge of her nose. “I see.”
After hanging up, she saw it was almost 2:00 AM. She planned to rest and discuss with Chi Xingcen tomorrow how she wanted to take back what belonged to her.
Before she could stand up, there was a knock on the door.
“Young Master, you aren’t asleep yet. Miss Momo asked me to bring you a bowl of hot soup.” It was Auntie Xu’s voice.
Lu Xi let her in and saw the small bowl placed on the desk. Thinking of that girl, she frowned. “Auntie Xu, it is very late. You all should rest early as well. I will rest once I finish my work. You don’t need to stay up with me.”
Auntie Xu stood in place and sighed. “Young Master, we see Miss Momo’s intentions, and we can’t help but be moved. You brought the Chi family’s daughter back today; Miss Momo doesn’t know the reason, so she will naturally feel lost.”
Lu Xi’s frown deepened, and she set down the spoon. “Auntie Xu, Momo is my sister. My grandfather entrusted her to my care, and I have never mistreated her. For so many years, you should be able to see clearly that I only have sisterly affection for her.”
Therefore, these earnest persuasions were truly unnecessary.
Auntie Xu only felt bad for Yun Momo’s sadness; she wouldn’t actually force the Young Master to do something against her will. Since the Young Master had clearly expressed her attitude, she didn’t say anything more and prepared to leave.
Lu Xi called her back and carefully asked if Chi Xingcen had eaten dinner and if she was comfortable. Auntie Xu answered each question, realizing in her heart that this Miss Chi was likely the one the Young Master truly favored.
The next day, Lu Xi didn’t get up until the sun was high. She sat at the dining table for breakfast. Looking around and seeing she was alone, she asked Auntie Xu, who had just placed a bowl of porridge in front of her, “Where are Momo and Miss Chi?”
“Miss Momo went out early this morning, saying she had a gathering with classmates and wouldn’t be back until tonight.” Auntie Xu placed the breakfast items in front of Lu Xi and continued, “Miss Chi is likely still resting; she hasn’t stepped out of her room today.”
Hearing this, Lu Xi swallowed some porridge, put down her chopsticks, and went up to the third floor. Perhaps Chi Xingcen wasn’t used to her first night and hadn’t slept well, but it was almost 11:00 AM. If she didn’t call her, she might not leave her room all day.
“Knock, knock, knock.” Standing outside, she tapped gently on the door.
Sure enough, after a moment, Chi Xingcen’s weak voice came from inside. “Who is it?”
“It’s me, Lu Xi.” she held the doorknob, wanting to go in and check. “Can I come in and see you? You don’t seem to be feeling well.”
Still in a daze, Chi Xingcen couldn’t process things quickly. Her lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but she was too confused to speak.
Receiving no answer, Lu Xi opened the door and stepped inside.
The moment she entered, a fresh scent of gardenia wafted into her nose, enveloping her. It made her head spin and her footsteps falter.
“Is your… heat cycle starting again?” Lu Xi remembered that people in this world were divided into Alphas, Omegas, and Betas. She knew Alphas had rut periods and Omegas had heat cycles. Smelling the rich Omega pheromones, her first reaction was that Chi Xingcen’s heat had arrived again.
Thinking of the last time she had accidentally entered Chi Xingcen’s room and temporarily marked her by mistake, she didn’t dare take another step forward. She was afraid that as an Alpha, she would be unable to control the influence the Omega pheromones had on her.
Just as she was about to retreat and find two Omega servants, Chi Xingcen seemed to look at her. Her pale, delicate arm reached out slowly toward her. “…Don’t go.”
