She Said She Has Feelings For Someone - Chapter 58
Chapter 58: Intimacy — Hug Me Again.
Lu Shuyu had kissed her. Lu Shuyu said she only liked her.
Intense love erupted from those amber eyes, steaming within the humid and stifling room. Xia Leshuang’s heart raced in a daze; she could barely catch her breath.
“Wh-why?”
As soon as she spoke, the person in front of her laughed again—bright and gentle. A scorching breath swept across the tip of her nose, causing her to tremble uncontrollably.
Lu Shuyu kissed her again. It was a fleeting touch, as light as a feather.
“The details… we’ll talk more when we get back to City S.” Lu Shuyu nuzzled the tip of her nose. “It’s late now. Go back and get some rest.”
Xia Leshuang was forced back to reality. They were still in the middle of filming; the guest rooms were equipped with cameras that recorded their morning wake-up routines. She could only nod. “Okay.”
Lu Shuyu chuckled and reached out to stroke her earlobe. “So obedient.”
…
Xia Leshuang returned to her room as if sleepwalking. Only when she lay down on her bed did she realize her entire body was burning up—especially her lips and earlobes. It felt as if Lu Shuyu’s temperature and touch were still lingering there.
At the thought, her body instinctively curled up. The rain outside was no longer heavy, making the earlier downpour feel like a dream…
The heart that had been pounding a moment ago suddenly sank. Her boiling blood cooled along with it. She trembled slightly and opened her phone.
— Can you say it one more time?
A new message popped up in the chat immediately.
— Xia Leshuang, I like you. I only like you.
It was real. Not a dream.
Xia Leshuang let out a massive sigh of relief. Her heart and blood seemed to receive a pardon, racing boldly with surging joy. Her eyes grew warm as she couldn’t stop herself from smiling foolishly.
— Lu Shuyu, I like you. I only like you.
…
After a good dream, the sky cleared after the rain.
Just as she stepped out of her room, Xia Leshuang heard Luo Han and He Wenyin chatting about last night’s storm. Tang Jiahe’s door opened as well. “Morning, Leshuang. Oh, Han-jie, Wenyin, morning.”
“There was a storm last night? I was dead to the world; I didn’t hear a thing.”
“Morning,” everyone greeted each other.
The guests stayed on the third floor. The production crew always woke up early, and the first floor was already bustling. Xia Leshuang instinctively walked toward the stairs, only to run right into someone running up.
The moment their eyes met, both froze—followed by a joy they couldn’t suppress.
Lu Shuyu smiled brilliantly. “Morning, Teacher Xia.”
“Morning, Shuyu,” Xia Leshuang replied softly.
Behind them, He Wenyin watched the two with surprise and teased, “It seems the relationship between Director Lu and Leshuang is getting better and better~”
The ambiguity between Xia Leshuang and Lu Shuyu was an open secret among the Gold Sisters. They were simply very discreet; they would help when needed but otherwise stayed back and watched, quietly guarding the development of this relationship.
Lu Shuyu just smiled and said, “Since all the teachers are awake, come down for breakfast. Teacher Zhong and Teacher Jiang got up early specifically to prepare it~”
She left immediately after speaking. Luo Han, He Wenyin, and Tang Jiahe couldn’t help but crowd around Xia Leshuang. “Shuang-shuang?”
Xia Leshuang widened her eyes slightly, her lips pressed together, yet she couldn’t hide the joy bubbling in her eyes. “Let’s go eat breakfast.”
She ran downstairs. The three above looked at each other, all sensing something was different.
“There’s definitely good news,” Tang Jiahe concluded.
Luo Han nodded. “Maybe we’ll be drinking ‘wedding wine’ soon.” Lu Shuyu happened to owe them a few drinking sessions anyway; this was a perfect excuse to make up for it.
He Wenyin didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. From the first floor, Jiang Fei’s confused voice drifted up: “Eh? Why is only Shuang-shuang down here?”
He Wenyin shouted back as she descended, “Coming, coming!”
…
In the dining room, the filming setup was ready. When the three arrived, they saw Xia Leshuang standing thoughtfully by the table, not yet sitting down.
The cameras were clearly in “official recording” mode. Luo Han realized: “Hidden mission, right?”
Jiang Fei and Zhong Wen shook their heads in unison, looking perfectly innocent. “No.” “How could there be!”
The two spoke at the same time, looking exactly like accomplices.
“Fine, the ‘Cute Trick’ duo. Here we go.” Tang Jiahe laughed and sat down. “I’ll give you this round. Let me eat first.”
Luo Han instinctively glanced at He Wenyin, who looked back with equal suspicion. Xia Leshuang sat down after Tang Jiahe. Everyone ate with their own hidden agendas.
Behind the lens, Lu Shuyu watched with a smile. The first stop of Gold of Adventure was officially kicked off by six thrilling hidden missions.
…
Today’s recording took place in the forest park. Not long before the indoor recording ended, Min Wutong and Jiang Feifei came downstairs to join them. Lu Shuyu noticed the silent atmosphere between the two, but with filming tasks at hand, she couldn’t spare the energy to mediate.
It wasn’t until the afternoon, before the recording ended, that Lu Shuyu felt someone tap her shoulder while she was focusing on the monitors. She turned to see a solemn-faced Min Wutong.
As someone who prioritized work, Min Wutong knew that not disturbing someone’s work was a virtue. Consequently, Lu Shuyu’s heart sank, realizing that something serious must have happened.
Moving a few steps away from the crew, Min Wutong lowered her voice. “Song Yi is in the hospital.”
Hospitalized? Was she about to give birth? No, it had only been a few months. Several thoughts flashed through her mind, but before she could ask, Min Wutong explained.
“Her mental state hasn’t been good lately. She’s just in for observation; she’s physically fine.”
In those two simple sentences, Lu Shuyu heard what was being omitted.
“Don’t worry,” Min Wutong said. “I’m heading back now. I’ll contact you if anything happens.”
With the heavy filming schedule, Lu Shuyu couldn’t leave. She could only nod. “I’ll go see her as soon as we finish shooting.”
Min Wutong patted her and turned to leave. Jiang Feifei was waiting nearby. Lu Shuyu met her gaze, and they nodded to each other in farewell.
…
At night, after finishing the wrap-up work with the staff, Lu Shuyu walked toward her room and saw that figure at her door again. The exhaustion in her heart vanished instantly, and she couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hey, why do giant mushrooms always grow at my door?”
Xia Leshuang froze, then laughed too, replying softly, “Is Director Lu going to pick this mushroom?”
Lu Shuyu glanced behind her. Seeing no one else, she stepped forward, “plucked” the mushroom-person herself, swiped her key card, and entered the room in one fluid motion.
Xia Leshuang was a bit startled. As the door closed and the room remained dim, she lamented with a mix of laughter and tears, “This is the first time… I’ve been picked up like this…”
Lu Shuyu set her down but didn’t let go. She buried her head in Xia Leshuang’s shoulder and chuckled. “I’m not the weakling I used to be.”
Her warm breath hit Xia Leshuang’s collarbone. Leshuang shivered from the ticklish sensation, her heart beating so fast it felt like it would leap out of her chest.
“Whether before or now,” she tightened her arms around Shuyu’s back, pulling the embrace closer, “I like it all.”
Xia Leshuang had cut her hair for the summer, leaving it just long enough to tie into a small sprout at the back. This meant Shuyu’s voice fell directly onto her exposed ears, tingling and sweet.
Lu Shuyu instinctively shrank her neck. She lightly gripped the sides of Xia Leshuang’s waist and muttered muffledly, “Don’t talk.”
A gentle, muffled laugh came from beside her ear, and the hot breath spilled over her again. Lu Shuyu couldn’t take it; she tilted her head and rubbed her ear against Xia Leshuang’s collarbone, trying to soothe the maddening itch.
Then she looked up, feigning anger. “Are you doing that on purpose?”
Xia Leshuang looked down, arching an eyebrow. “Aren’t you?”
The words stunned Lu Shuyu. She looked down and saw a patch of red skin—and felt the intense heartbeat pressed against her. A belated sense of shame rushed up. She blinked, stammered for a moment, and then threw caution to the wind by burying her face back in.
“I am not,” she explained weakly.
A gentle touch stroked the back of her head, followed by Xia Leshuang’s beautiful voice. “Fine~ You’re not. But you are Lu Shuyu and I am Xia Leshuang. So regardless of whether you are or aren’t, it’s okay.”
Lu Shuyu couldn’t take it anymore. She reached out and flipped the light switch. The room flooded with light. She looked at Xia Leshuang intensely. “Xia Leshuang, tell the truth. Did you enroll in some love-talk training class?”
Xia Leshuang couldn’t help but smile, her eyes full of gentle mirth. “Well… want to take me as your master?”
…Lu Shuyu felt a strange sense of déjà vu. She took a sharp breath. “I don’t play teacher-student games.”
“Then—” Xia Leshuang’s eyes twinkled with mischief, “it can only be that I’m self-taught… because of love—”
She didn’t get to finish, because Lu Shuyu manually muted her with a hand over her mouth. “Stop. Fine. Say no more.”
She had forgotten that this person was a voice actress who had dubbed countless romance dramas… with that kind of exposure, sweet talk was second nature.
Xia Leshuang knew when to stop and nodded obediently. Lu Shuyu kept her hand up but loosened her grip; Xia Leshuang’s nose brushed against her palm, carrying a soft, warm breath—like a feather-light kiss.
Lu Shuyu retracted her hand as if she’d been shocked. The heat in her ears wouldn’t go down. But the arms around her back tightened again, pulling her back into the embrace.
It was soft, warm, and reliable.
“Hug me again,” Xia Leshuang said softly.
Lu Shuyu’s heart melted. She wrapped her arms around Xia Leshuang’s back. The hands behind her followed suit, sliding down to her waist. The T-shirt was thin; she could clearly feel the temperature of the palms and fingertips, and the posture of every knuckle. It was so intimate it made her legs feel a bit weak.
“Did you come here specifically?” she asked, trying to change the subject and her own focus.
“Yeah,” Xia Leshuang didn’t notice her internal struggle. “I saw you didn’t eat much at dinner.”
Lu Shuyu sighed: Guessed right.
After briefly explaining what happened in the afternoon, she added, “So I want to speed up the filming schedule. After we finish the day after tomorrow, I’m going back to City B.”
“Okay,” Xia Leshuang replied.
A long silence followed. Lu Shuyu loosened her grip slightly and looked up at her. “What are you thinking about?”
Xia Leshuang smiled. “I was thinking of that time in City T, not too long ago.”
That was when Song Yi suddenly dropped out, and Lu Shuyu returned to City B overnight with Min Wutong. Xia Leshuang had wanted to follow her but had no standing—because she had rejected Lu Shuyu’s friend request, she wasn’t even a friend.
“That time in City T?” Lu Shuyu didn’t remember for a moment.
Xia Leshuang shook her head. “We’ll talk more when we get back to City B. Let me go back with you the day after tomorrow. I’ll keep you company.”
She had plenty of standing now. Those past events that were hard to explain and might make Lu Shuyu sad could be skipped for now. After all, they had a future. They had plenty of chances and a long time to talk slowly.
Hearing this, Lu Shuyu finally broke into a smile. Those amber eyes held Xia Leshuang’s reflection and a great deal of unhidden joy.
“Okay! Let’s go together!”
