Seduced Me into a Deep Fall - Chapter 70
Jiang Yuyang had been quite troubled lately.
Her closest friend had recently become infatuated with a girl she met online, utterly smitten, chatting for two hours every day in flirtatious voice calls.
Another had gone on a mission to the border with her secret crush. According to her, she had no plans to confessbeing able to stay by their side as comrades-in-arms for life was enough.
And then there was the third one.
Only in her early twenties, yet already a mother.
Every day, she flooded their group chat with videos and photos of her chubby baby.
The bragging was so relentless that even while assisting her professor in the lab, Jiang Yuyang found herself distracted by thoughts of the baby’s giggles.
Song Cheng was such an adorable little thing.
Just two or three months old, barely able to crawl, spending all day nestled in her mother’s arms with a silly grin.
“Uh… you’re not thinking of joining me in the shower, are you?” Not that it was impossible they were girlfriends, after all.
But Ling Xi wasn’t sure she was mentally prepared yet.
“Sorry, sweetheart, I spaced out. I’ll leave right away!” Song Yi snapped out of her daze, shaking off the R-rated images that had just flashed through her mind.
Ling Xi kept her head down, silently watching Song Yi exit the bathroom.
Under the hot water, the heat on her skin made her thoughts drift in the same direction as Song Yi’s.
It seemed she needed to study up on certain knowledge.
After all, Song Yi didn’t seem opposed in fact, she might even be looking forward to it.
She was an adult now, and they were officially dating.
Surely, they’d reach that stage eventually?
Ling Xi’s mind swirled with all sorts of thoughts, none of them remotely accurate to reality, but she still ended up blushing like a steamed crab.
Ling Xi took a little longer than usual in the shower.
Song Yi sat in the adjacent bedroom, flipping through reports to pass the time.
Then, the doorbell rang.
Song Yi hadn’t called for anyone, and at this hour, the only possibility was Ling Xi’s mother.
Jiang Yuyang couldn’t help but covet Song Cheng—she wanted a plump, pinchable little daughter of her own.
Someone to kiss and play with every day.
But she didn’t even have a partner.
“Senior, I’m done. How about you? Let me help you clean up.” At this thought, Jiang Yuyang sighed and carried the test tubes to the sink.
“Perfect timing. I just finished too. I’ll organize the data, and you remember to lock up the lab.”
After her senior left, Jiang Yuyang scrubbed the test tubes alone, sighing nonstop.
If she really thought about it, she’d already been living with her crush for over a year.
Back when Ling Xi and Song Yi weren’t even married yet, she’d accepted Lingyue’s invitation to co-run a shipping account, streaming for extra income.
Now, her side hustle earnings were higher than what her future “best possible job” could offer.
Their account had amassed millions of followers.
The fan group chats were so wild they could’ve spawned ten “Song Chengs” by now.
Yet, her relationship with Lingyue remained stagnant, not just at zero, but practically in the negatives.
Jiang Yuyang’s phone buzzed.
She tidied the equipment, turned off the lab’s power, locked the door, and only then checked the message.
[At the gate.] It was from Lingyue, accompanied by a selfie of her sucking on a lollipop in the car.
A smile unconsciously spread across Jiang Yuyang’s face. [On my way!]
She headed toward the school gate, opened the car door, and slid into the passenger seat.
“Yue-jie.” Jiang Yuyang greeted Lingyue from the backseat.
“Let’s go. Big sis will treat you to dinner. What do you want to eat?” Lingyue bit through her lollipop with a roguish demeanor, yet carried an inexplicable confidence.
“I saw someone recommend a noodle shop. Should I send you the address?” Jiang Yuyang avoided the rearview mirror’s gaze, stealing glances at Lingyue’s back.
“The one from the group chat, right? Sure, send it. I remember Xi Bao and her wife went there, it’s good.”
Lingyue looked up, catching Jiang Yuyang’s eyes in the rearview mirror and winking at her.
“Let’s go~ Have you gone over what we’re discussing tonight?” Lingyue was showing concern for Jiang Yuyang.
But Jiang Yuyang was past the age of being pleased by this level of attention.
After all, Lingyue’s tone completely treated her like a child, a little sister to be taken care of.
“Mhm, I’ve already prepared.” Jiang Yuyang, being introverted, didn’t know how to break this dynamic.
She was nearly on the verge of crying from her own words.
Song Yi suddenly patted her face, then cupped it. “You’re worrying like this before we’ve even started? Should I take over today?”
“That could work. But what if you don’t like how I react?”
Song Yi pinched Ling Xi lightly.
“Sweetheart, why do you have so many worries?”
Song Yi could hardly believe it.
Besides, she’d come yesterday too, but Ling Xi hadn’t shown up.
Yet she refused to give up and came again today.
Someone waiting at this place, looking so much like Ling Xi. Could it really be her?
“I’m Ling Xi, Wait, are you Lian Lian jie?” Ling Xi noticed the mole on Song Yi’s eyelid.
No mistake. “Yes.”
Song Yi exhaled in relief, her mood lifting in a way she didn’t quite understand.
She pressed a hand to her chest, then extended it toward Ling Xi.
“Let’s reintroduce ourselves. I’m Song Yi, 23, an omega.”
Ling Xi hesitated slightly before carefully reaching out.
Deep down, she just wished she could interact with Lingyue like this.
She longed for more, but feared regression in their relationship even more.
“Prepared, tch. Such an old-fashioned word.” Lingyue tossed out the comment casually.
“Yuyang, you’ve been pretty busy lately, huh? Second year of grad school and all.”
Ling Xi immediately tugged at Song Yi’s sleeve.
If she got treated for a fever just because of her wild imagination, she’d die of embarrassment.
Ahem. “Then it’s settled. Xiao Xi, you need to be careful. You’re in the honeymoon phase, yes, but you’re an alpha, don’t do anything to hurt her.”
Ling Jingqiu phrased it as delicately as possible.
Ling Xi was still clutching Song Yi’s hand. Understanding her mother’s meaning, she ducked her head.
“I won’t.” They’d both resisted marking each other today.
“Alright, the food’s here. Let’s all eat.” Ling Jingqiu steered the conversation onward.
Ling Xi was still a bit sulky, shooting her a glance that clearly showed her grievance.
“Mom will make it up to you with a gift later.” Qi Zhen quickly comforted her.
Only then did Ling Xi stop complaining and start eating properly.
The moment she finished speaking, two pairs of eyes turned to Ling Xi.
Ling Xi looked at Qi Zhen.
“Xi Bao.” Ling Jingqiu came to greet her wife and daughter.
“Who are you dating?”
Ling Xi pouted, glaring at Qi Zhen.
“A friend. We’ve known each other for a while.”
“Kind of. But I’ll be free in a few months.” Jiang Yuyang replied like the junior she was.
Lingyue clicked her tongue and shook her head. “You’ll need to find a job after this, right? Might even have to take certification exams or civil service tests. Kid, what do you plan to do? Ever considered becoming a full-time streamer like me?”
“Well, my family probably wouldn’t approve of me going full-time.” Jiang Yuyang didn’t even dare tell her parents about this.
In fact, she’d been telling her family she was living in the school dormitory this whole time.
After all, she was an omega. If her parents found out she’d been living with an adult alpha for over a year, there’d be hell to pay.
“Then you’ll have to job hunt. Good luck, kiddo it’s tough out there. I remember Xi Bao complaining about sending out dozens of resumes daily only to get rejection letters the next day.” Lingyue spoke casually while driving steadily.
Looking at her, one could sense this steadiness stemmed from an untamable wildness beneath the surface, creating a mesmerizing contradiction.
“It is tough—that’s why I’m going for grad school. What about you, Yue-jie? Not going back to the company?” Jiang Yuyang had no idea what had happened in Lingyue’s past.
“Probably not. That kind of work is exhausting. Our streaming income is enough, and my little sister has an insanely wealthy wife. If I ever want a job later, I’ll probably ask them to find me something low-key.”
Jiang Yuyang listened, words stuck in her throat.
If Lingyue planned to keep streaming, what would happen to their shared account?
Would their CP act continue?
But Jiang Yuyang couldn’t bring herself to ask.
She was afraid Lingyue might take the opportunity to propose ending their arrangement.
Six months later, Jiang Yuyang began revising her completed thesis.
During her year and a half in grad school, she maintained a streaming schedule of at least three times a week but avoided excessive physical contact with Lingyue during broadcasts.
The most daring moment she remembered was a joint stream with Ling Xi and Song Yi.
Ling Xi and Song Yi were a genuine married couple they even had a child together. Feeding each other fruit mouth-to-mouth, whispering sweet nothings, cheek kisses, playful ear nibbles their “fanservice” came effortlessly.
Jiang Yuyang and Lingyue, however, were contractual partners riding the wave of popularity.
Whenever performing intimate acts, the ghost of her unrequited feelings made her hold back, resulting in awkward stiffness.
After that stream, many fans expressed dissatisfaction.
Lingyue waited three days before damage control, finally posting photos of them walking closely pressed together to quell the backlash.
“Kid, you graduate in two months?” Jiang Yuyang had accompanied Lingyue to visit her elders’ home.
Lingyue played with the crawling baby Song Cheng while casually asking Jiang Yuyang.
“Yeah. I’ll get my diploma in June.” Jiang Yuyang reached out, and little Song Cheng tightly grasped her finger.
“Ya!” Song Cheng beamed at her.
Jiang Yuyang smiled back.
Qi Zhen, watching nearby, didn’t intervene since the baby wasn’t hurting her.
“You must be swamped lately?” Lingyue shook the baby’s rattle, her mood lifting at Song Cheng’s laughter.
“Ah not really. I can still keep up with our usual streaming schedule.”
“Is that so? Well, if you’re busy, this weekend can be your final stream before graduation. I’ll explain it to the fans.”
Lingyue grinned, as if doubting Jiang Yuyang’s words yet unconcerned about her potential absence.
Jiang Yuyang froze. “But… what about streams after that?”
“I’ll find a way to handle it.” Lingyue stood up and patted Jiang Yuyang’s back. “Don’t worry about it, focus on your studies.”
Jiang Yuyang froze, her beautiful eyes losing their sparkle, standing motionless as if forgetting to breathe.
Lingyue walked past her without noticing her emotional state.
In that moment, countless thoughts flashed through Jiang Yuyang’s mind.
She wanted to express certain feelings, but Lingyue’s overly indifferent attitude forced her to hold back.
After all, when she finished her work, Lingyue might still need her.
Jiang Yuyang suddenly felt a sharp pain in her finger.
“Hey hey, Chengcheng, you can’t bite other people’s fingers,” Qi Zhen quickly stopped Song Cheng from clamping down on Jiang Yuyang’s finger.
“Little Yuyang, are you okay?” Qi Zhen even took Jiang Yuyang’s hand to check.
“Oh, it’s fine. Chengbao didn’t bite hard.” Jiang Yuyang smiled bitterly.
Qi Zhen observed the atmosphere between Lingyue and Jiang Yuyang, sensing something.
While Jiang Yuyang was washing her hands, Qi Zhen whispered in Lingyue’s ear:
“Can you bring home a daughter-in-law for mom next Spring Festival? Your younger sister’s child is already almost one year old.”
“What are you thinking? There’s no suitable person around me. Even if I started developing feelings now, it would be too late.” Lingyue chuckled.
Jiang Yuyang heard every word clearly at the sink.
She always thought Lingyue’s voice sounded like she’d smoked – slightly hoarse yet uniquely charming.
Qi Zhen didn’t respond, just pointed in Jiang Yuyang’s direction.
Lingyue looked at Jiang Yuyang washing her hands and hesitated for half a second.
Then she shook her head. “Mom, impossible. We’re just work partners, like I told you.”
If Jiang Yuyang really liked her, she wouldn’t be so resistant to their interactions.
Lingyue lowered her eyes, the corners of her mouth curling up again. “Focus more on our little Chengcheng. Maybe in fifteen years she’ll bring home a granddaughter-in-law before I do.”
“You’re impossible. How old would your niece be in fifteen years! Grandma won’t allow any early dating.”
As expected, Qi Zhen’s attention was diverted by Lingyue’s words, dropping the subject about Jiang Yuyang.
“What early dating?” Ling Jingqiu came out of the kitchen carrying a bowl of soup.
Listening to the commotion behind her, Jiang Yuyang watched the water drip quietly from the faucet.
After a long pause, she turned the faucet to full blast again and buried her face in the stream.
“When’s the joint livestream? Your Yue-da and her wife have been busy taking care of their daughter recently, probably won’t have time to stream.”
On Saturday night, Lingyue started her livestream, adjusted the camera, gently put her arm around Jiang Yuyang, and began the broadcast.
Jiang Yuyang looked at the five-centimeter gap between them, her gaze calm.
Fans flooded in, excited by Lingyue’s words.
[Ahhhh my CP has a daughter!]
[No wonder they streamed every day last year – they were on maternity leave!]
[So blessed to ship a real couple]
Of course, some fans inevitably commented: [They already have a kid! What about you two! When are you getting married and having babies?]
“To the fan with ID ‘SpringIsAPig’, you know what? My mom asked me the same thing during New Year.”
Hearing Lingyue’s words, Jiang Yuyang finally smiled beside her. “My mom asked too. Word for word, same question, same pressure.”
“Of course I understand you’re anxious. But don’t be in such a hurry, none of us are rushing yet.” Lingyue took over the conversation, ending the topic with a recent meme.
What Jiang Yuyang didn’t expect was Lingyue directly announcing during the livestream that she would be taking a break from broadcasting for a while.
“Just the duo streams. My kid’s busy with graduation, we’ll resume two months after she’s done.”
Two months. In the rapidly evolving, fiercely competitive world of streaming, this meant virtual disappearance.
Jiang Yuyang’s expression shifted noticeably.
Lingyue was still interacting with the chat and hadn’t noticed yet.
“As for solo streams, we’ll see. My work schedule is flexible. Worst case, I’ll drag my niece over to stream for you all.” Lingyue already had plans for what came next.
By the time she saw the chat comments about Jiang Yuyang’s strange behavior, the younger woman had been standing frozen for five minutes.
“What’s wrong?” Lingyue leaned in, lowering her voice.
“I…” Jiang Yuyang couldn’t speak.
Her mind buzzed—wanting to tell Lingyue she could handle both commitments, wanting to confess her feelings, wanting most of all to end the stream and just rest.
“Did you catch a chill yesterday?” Lingyue reached to feel Jiang Yuyang’s forehead.
Jiang Yuyang even flinched from this touch.
Lingyue’s brow furrowed.
She should have known. Jiang Yuyang hadn’t done these streams with her for so long out of affection.
She’d misjudged once before.
This time, she wouldn’t guess wrong again.
That single gesture plunged Lingyue into Jiang Yuyang’s whirlwind.
They sank into the abyss of a kiss, inseparable yet resisting each other.
Lingyue had ten thousand questions.
Jiang Yuyang had ten thousand confessions.
In the end, Jiang Yuyang kissed until her heart ached, trembling with sobs before pulling away.
Lingyue caught her retreating arm. “Don’t go!”
Jiang Yuyang didn’t turn back, but Lingyue’s grip left her nowhere to go.
With a firm tug, Lingyue pulled her into an embrace.
Jiang Yuyang still shivered uncontrollably.
“Stay,” Lingyue murmured, stroking her hair with a sigh.
Then she guided the dazed Jiang Yuyang back to the chair, picked up the camera to shut it off, and exited the livestream.
“Do you… like me?” Lingyue sat facing her, ready for a real conversation.
At this, Jiang Yuyang suddenly looked up, froze for three seconds, then bowed her head.
Her ears burned crimson.
She wanted to nod and shake her head simultaneously.
Just as she began to move, Lingyue’s words stopped her.
“I want the truth.”
“But…” Jiang Yuyang blinked, and tears burst forth.
A shaky inhale turned her words into whimpers.
Being nearly seven years older, Lingyue analyzed calmly.
“You’re afraid if you confess, I’ll reject you.”
Jiang Yuyang managed a painful nod,
her head nearly between her knees.
“So earlier, you avoided intimacy because you liked me?”
Having pieced together Jiang Yuyang’s logic, Lingyue sighed.
What an absurd misunderstanding they’d created.
She’d assumed Jiang Yuyang’s casual demeanor meant indifference.
Afraid of scaring the younger woman away.
“Too nervous…” Jiang Yuyang barely squeezed out the words.
“Alright, I understand now.” Lingyue ruffled her hair.
“There, there…” Soothing her gently.
Only when Jiang Yuyang had nearly stopped sobbing did Lingyue cup her face.
“So, do you like me?” she asked again.
This time, it wasn’t about seeking confirmation.
Jiang Yuyang stood frozen, still processing what had just happened.
“I like you,” Lingyue said, her own ears growing warm. “At the very least, I want to try with you.”
“Try… try what?” Jiang Yuyang understood but couldn’t quite believe it.
“Dating, obviously.” Lingyue tapped Jiang Yuyang’s forehead. “Did I scare you silly?”
“You’re the one who suddenly kissed me during a live stream! I was the one scared silly.” Having said that, Lingyue didn’t elaborate further.
Instead, she gently held Jiang Yuyang’s face and bit her lip.
Their kiss was messy, completely lacking technique.
When Lingyue tried to deepen it, Jiang Yuyang remained stiff.
By the time Jiang Yuyang realized what Lingyue was attempting, Lingyue had already withdrawn.
They remained entangled like this for a good half hour.
Afterward, Lingyue pulled Jiang Yuyang close. “Honestly, if you’d confessed earlier—like last year—we could’ve been together sooner.”
Hearing this while resting on Lingyue’s shoulder, Jiang Yuyang felt even more like crying.
“I didn’t know…” How many years had she secretly loved her? From high school through graduate school.
Over time, her unrequited feelings had become second nature.
Being direct about them now felt impossible; she couldn’t muster the courage.
“So, do you really like me?” Jiang Yuyang asked tearfully afterward, her voice small.
“Of course. Why else would I do those couple streams with you for so long? Or let you live with me for over a year?”
If she didn’t like her, why would she pray for time to slow down during every night they spent together?
If she didn’t like her, why would she go out of her way to plan romantic activities just to share them with her?
Lingyue wasn’t ready to reveal all the unsuccessful schemes she’d concocted over the years.
Tonight, all she could say was that she liked her.
“I like you too, wuu…” Jiang Yuyang could only respond in kind.
Her entire youth’s worth of affection had finally been reciprocated in this unexpected way.
Jiang Yuyang tightened her embrace. “Can I call you ‘jie’ from now on?”
Just like Ling Xi called Song Yi.
Back then, Jiang Yuyang had envied Ling Xi so much.
“Sure. Call me whatever makes you happy, kiddo.” Starting today, this nickname would no longer be a disguise for hidden feelings.
Days later during a family dinner, Lingyue mentioned this to Ling Xi.
“So you’re finally dating,” Ling Xi said without a hint of surprise. “If she hadn’t confessed soon, I would’ve done it for her,” she added with a click of her tongue.
“What do you mean?” Lingyue was stunned.
She’d assumed Jiang Yuyang had gradually fallen for her after they started living together, just as she had.
But thinking back, when she’d simply asked Ling Xi to recommend a suitable streaming partner, Ling Xi had immediately suggested Jiang Yuyang.
Yet with Jiang Yuyang’s busy academic schedule, how was she suitable at all?
“You knew she liked me all along?” Lingyue nearly committed sisterly treason.
Song Yi was banned from their monthly family dinners. With no one to protect Ling Xi, she could only hide behind Qi Zhen.
Unfortunately, Qi Zhen had a new favorite now. Besides, Lingyue finally having a girlfriend was cause for celebration.
Qi Zhen grabbed Ling Xi’s arm and practically shoved her toward Lingyue.
“You knew and didn’t tell me!” Lingyue was furious!
“How was I supposed to know you liked her? If you didn’t and I told you, wouldn’t that have made things worse!” Ling Xi clutched her head and quickly darted away before Lingyue could react.
Lingyue was momentarily left speechless.
“Alright, you two,” Ling Jingqiu stepped in to mediate.
“Xiao Xi, this has nothing to do with you. Keep eating. Xiao Yue, you should be bolder when it comes to feelings. Didn’t you almost miss your chance with Xiao Jiang?”
Lingyue nodded. No wonder she was so frustrated.
If Jiang Yuyang hadn’t mustered the courage to kiss her, they would have definitely gone their separate ways.
“You can’t blame your sister for this. She was just keeping a friend’s secret,” Ling Jingqiu concluded the matter with a single sentence.
Ling Xi, already a mother, still had boundless energy and stuck her tongue out at Lingyue playfully.
“Yuebao, when are you and Yuyang getting married?” Qi Zhen posed the inevitable question after dinner.
Song Yi was on his way to pick up Ling Xi, who, bored out of her mind, also tuned in to the conversation.
“Let’s date for a while longer first. There’s no rush,” Lingyue hadn’t thought that far ahead.
She and Jiang Yuyang were living together and knew each other’s habits well. Their personalities also meshed perfectly.
But she wasn’t as impulsive as Ling Xi, who had gotten her marriage license after just one month of dating.
“Well, that’s fine too. As long as you’re happy,” Qi Zhen decided not to press the matter.
Later on, the two of them really did date for a long time.
Even by the time Ling Xi’s second daughter was born, they still hadn’t married, choosing instead to remain in a committed relationship without ever getting a marriage certificate.
When asked, Lingyue said that their relationship didn’t need a marriage certificate to sustain it, they didn’t need formalities to prove anything.
As long as they knew their love for each other, that was enough.
