Rich Cat A Would Never Fall in Love with a Fake Heiress - Chapter 13
That day, Mo Wang seemed to have been struck where it hurt the most. She slammed the door and stormed off angrily.
The relationship between Mo Li and Mo Wang, which had just begun to thaw, completely collapsed again over a single remark.
Fortunately, Mo Wang had come to terms with reality and no longer troubled her at home or with her studies. At the very least, Mo Li’s tutor continued to work diligently as always.
But two days later, when Mo Li returned to school,
All the desks in the classroom had been arranged into a large circle, and at the center of that circle stood her own desk, which was covered in messy carvings. At that moment, a stack of gaudy envelopes lay on top of it.
Mo Li’s mind went blank. She glanced around and noticed that all the students present were secretly stealing glances at her. When their eyes met hers, they flinched with fear and quickly looked away.
Only Lin Qianying, her face bruised and swollen, glared at her fiercely.
Worried that this might be a new kind of prank, Mo Li cautiously approached and pulled out one of the letters.
The first line read in bold letters: “Letter of Apology.” The content was straightforward, filled with words of trepidation, as if the writer feared even the slightest displeasure from the reader.
After skimming through a few of them, Mo Li understood. Mo Wang had sent emails to the parents of these troublesome students, exposing their rebellious behavior outside of school, threatening them to be more careful in the future, all to silence them.
The effect was obvious.
Reading about someone who had kicked a neighbor’s dog being exposed, Mo Li couldn’t help but curl her lips into a faint smile.
However, her relief didn’t last long. The class bell rang, but there was no sign of the desks being rearranged.
Bracing herself under the gaze of the entire class, she prepared her textbooks for the lesson.
The first class was English. Thanks to her tutor’s excellent guidance, Mo Li was now able to answer some basic questions. Yet, the English teacher seemed to ignore her entirely, as if she were invisible. Throughout the entire class, she wasn’t called on, nor did the teacher even glance her way.
The same pattern continued with the teachers in the following classes…
Although no one dared to talk behind her back anymore, no one dared to speak to her either.
After several days of this, Mo Li gradually realized she had become an invisible presence in the entire school. It was the same at home, her father no longer paid her any attention, her mother would tear up and sigh at the sight of her, as if she were the one being bullied, and Mo Wang left early and returned late, holed up in her room, silently plotting something big.
After another week of being treated like a ghost, Mo Li felt she was going to go insane. On the ninth time her homework was ignored, she grew furious, skipped class, and ran all the way to the high school division to confront Mo Wang and ask what kind of game she was playing.
Mo Wang was in Class 1, Grade 11, the school’s top class. She had started school a year early, so she was a full grade ahead of Mo Li.
Mo Li waited there for a while until their class ended. Students filed out, clutching test papers, as if they had just received their grades.
“With these scores, Mo Wang could get into A City’s A University of Science and Technology, right? That’s one of the top prestigious universities in the country,” two boys remarked, walking shoulder-to-shoulder out of the classroom, holding folded test papers.
“But she hasn’t differentiated yet. If she becomes an Omega, she’ll have to go to the Omega Academy over there. I heard job prospects are way worse for them,” the other boy muttered.
His companion burst into laughter.
“That female devil turning into an Omega? Don’t joke around. Maybe it’s because of her terrible personality that the heavens are delaying her differentiation.”
“…”
“You might as well imagine how unlucky her future Alpha would be if she really became an Omega.”
“Eww~”
Both boys shuddered simultaneously.
Mo Li frowned, never expecting that even upperclassmen could be so gossipy.
Even if Mo Wang really differentiated into an Omega, she would remain in the Mo family, continuing her reign as the female devil. What business was it of these people to speculate?
But Class One truly lived up to its reputation as the elite class. After waiting for a while, no one else came out except for these two chatterboxes. Left with no choice, Mo Li stopped them as they were heading back to their classroom.
“Hey, you two over there…”
Her tone was somewhat impolite, colored by her prejudice. The two boys turned around impatiently, but their expressions softened the moment they saw her.
Mo Li had only recently recovered from long-term malnutrition and was shorter than her peers. However, Mo Wang had previously arranged for her crooked teeth to be fixed and had a stylist give her a proper makeover, so she now resembled a sweet, well-behaved girl next door.
“You’re not from our grade, are you? What’s up?”
Without batting an eye, Mo Li said, “I’m looking for Mo Wang.”
The two thought for a moment and pointed in a direction. “She’s not in the classroom. Seems like she was called away by the biology teacher, probably at the high school division’s infirmary.”
Without another word, Mo Li turned and strode in that direction.
The class bell rang, and students hurriedly rushed back to their classrooms along the corridor. Mo Li pushed open the door to the outer room of the infirmary.
The pungent smell of disinfectant filled the air, and the room was eerily quiet, with no one in sight.
Just as she was about to call out, a voice came from the inner room.
“Your delayed differentiation might actually be a good thing.”
A gentle female voice spoke, full of reassurance.
“I hope so, but there’s no escaping it. My hormones have been a bit unstable lately, it’s a sign that the differentiation period is approaching.”
Mo Wang’s voice echoed, and Mo Li’s eyes widened in shock.
She shouldn’t have been so surprised, everyone differentiates around the age of fifteen. Mo Wang was just a bit late.
The female voice continued, unable to hide her concern. “If it’s Alpha or Beta, that’s fine. But if it’s Omega, what are you going to do?”
“…”
Mo Wang let out what sounded like a cold laugh. “What can I do? I have no choice.”
Mo Li narrowed her eyes. Mo Wang, who always seemed to have everything under control, how could she have no choice?
As she pondered this, the door to the inner room suddenly swung open. Mo Wang stood there, her soft, loose black hair framing her slightly pale face, arms crossed.
“How much longer were you planning to eavesdrop?”
Mo Li stared in shock, completely forgetting her original intention for coming to confront her.
When had she been discovered?
Seeing her dumbfounded expression, Mo Wang sighed, pulled Mo Li over, and pointed toward the glass window on the inner room’s door. The sheer, gauzy curtains fluttered lightly.
“The infirmary’s inner curtains let the light through. I spotted you standing there the moment I looked.”
“…”
“So,” she tapped Mo Li’s head, “did you come here to get your brain checked?”
