- Chapter 2 - Accidentally Stealing the White Moonlight’s First Kiss
On September 1, Yan Mingyue waved goodbye to the Lu family driver. Carrying numerous bags and a massive suitcase, he stood at the entrance of Lin’an University. The low-key luxury of the campus gates felt incredibly familiar.
That tree! That grass! And that fat cat with the disdainful eyes!
School, is it you? No need to hide it, I know it is you! Do not think for a second that I would not recognize you just because you changed your name!
Yan Mingyue was actually grateful that the author was lazy. The writer had focused so much on the love-hate relationships of the leads that they neglected to build a unique world for the novel. Consequently, the setting was an exact replica of his own world.
This was perfect for Yan Mingyue as it saved him the trouble of trying to find his way to the dorms.
However, unlike his memories, the familiar campus was now tainted by various luxury cars. Was this the start of the semester? No, this was clearly a luxury car show. If he could drive that Aston Martin One-77, he would be willing to live in a mansion and eat grand meals for the rest of his life.
Yan Mingyue stared with envy, his mouth practically watering.
As expected of an old-school CEO novel. Is there no justice? Is there no common sense? Does the author not know that his car theft skills were top-notch?
Envy was just envy. Although Yan Mingyue occasionally lamented why he was not among the wealthy people of the world, he did not harbor any true ill will.
He took two more longing looks at the Aston Martin in the parking space. Under the surprised or admiring gazes of the onlookers, he hoisted his heavy bags, grabbed his suitcase, and walked steadily toward Building A, Room 416.
The boy has grown up, possessing the strength to lift mountains and an aura that dominates the world.
Familiar school, familiar Building A, Room 416. Yan Mingyue hoped that he would see familiar faces when he pushed the door open, though he knew it was unlikely.
While Yan Mingyue hurried toward the dorm, the owner of that Aston Martin and his friend followed slowly behind him.
Jin Xi, who had lived abroad since childhood and long admired domestic martial arts, widened his eyes in shock. He poked Gu Yuebai in the side and pointed at the strong silhouette ahead.
“White! Is that warrior using the legendary Divine Strength? I love it!”
Gu Yuebai looked up and saw a familiar figure. He raised an eyebrow and glanced at the excited Jin Xi. Thinking of something, his lips curled into a playful smirk.
“Oh, so you like Yan Mingyue?”
“Yan Mingyue?” The name sounded familiar to Jin Xi. He adjusted his curly hair and then realized who it was. His voice cracked in shock. “Yan Mingyue! You mean he is that person?”
Good grief! He thought he was a warrior, but he really is a warrior! How dare he provoke Gu Yuebai, that old rogue and pervert?
Jin Xi clapped his hands in admiration.
Gu Yuebai might look like a cold deity from a manga and had been pursued by many, but only his cousin Jin Xi knew his true personality was the complete opposite of his looks.
Every time Gu Yuebai visited Germany, it was a dark time for Jin Xi. He could not outsmart him and he could not win in a fight. He could only cry and hold onto his cousin’s leg, begging for mercy.
The past was too painful to recall.
Meanwhile, Yan Mingyue lugged his heavy luggage to the fourth floor and stood outside Room 416. He took a deep breath and knocked loudly. When no one answered, he pushed the door open and entered.
The layout was simple: four beds with desks underneath. He spotted his bed immediately because it was in the exact same spot as in his previous world, right by the balcony. His roommates must have arrived early because the floor was wet and slippery from a recent mopping.
He cautiously carried his luggage to his bed. Just as he sat down, there was a knock at the door. Wanting to make a good first impression on his roommates, Yan Mingyue rushed to the door and performed a slide.
Suddenly, the door swung open. He could not stop in time and collided with Gu Yuebai, who did not have time to dodge.
Gu Yuebai’s eyes widened in shock. Before he could even curse, he was pinned under Yan Mingyue in an awkward position. Their lips slammed together and the metallic taste of blood spread between their teeth.
Yan Mingyue’s head hit the ground so hard his vision went blurry. His eyes filled with tears from the pain.
“Holy crap!”
A voice filled with disbelief exploded nearby, cracking with shock. “Oh my god, Yuebai, you!”
Phrases about the cruelty of the world echoed in Yan Mingyue’s mind, but he only clearly heard the name Yuebai.
Wait.
Yan Mingyue’s eyes flew open and met the gaze of the young man pinned beneath him.
Yuebai.
Gu Yuebai?
The White Moonlight, Gu Yuebai?
SOS! SOS!
He looked at Gu Yuebai again and then peacefully closed his eyes. He forced his hands into the gap between their bodies and folded them over his stomach, acting as if he wanted no part of this embarrassing scene.
When Yan Mingyue opened his eyes again, Gu Yuebai had stood up with Jin Xi’s help. He was looking down at him with an icy gaze. If looks could kill, Yan Mingyue would have died a thousand times.
Under Gu Yuebai’s scrutiny, Yan Mingyue also got angry. He scrambled up from the floor and glared back without backing down.
“Why are you looking at me like that? I did not knock you down on purpose! Who told you to open the door so suddenly?”
He glanced at Gu Yuebai’s swollen lips and then at his clearly sprained ankle. Feeling guilty, he rubbed his nose and looked up at the ceiling to avoid eye contact. His expression seemed to say, “Look! What a beautiful white ceiling!”
Gu Yuebai also looked at Yan Mingyue’s mouth. His lips were stained with blood, looking as if he were wearing lipstick.
Although Gu Yuebai had been abroad, he knew everything that happened back home. Yan Mingyue’s past actions were like mosquito bites to him, annoying but harmless. Even though people in their social circle knew he belonged to Lu Beichen, they only viewed him as a clown.
Yan Mingyue looked at the ceiling while Gu Yuebai stared at him thoughtfully. Jin Xi’s meaningful gaze shifted between the two of them as an awkward atmosphere enveloped the trio.
“Mingyue, why are you and the new roommates standing at the door like statues? Are you cosplaying The Thinker by Auguste Rodin?”
A tanned boy, drenched in sweat and carrying a crate of mineral water, stood behind them. Seeing the three of them standing like statues, he thought they were trying out a new type of cosplay.
His voice broke the awkward silence. Yan Mingyue looked gratefully at this passerby who appeared like a god. He covered his swollen lips and fled back to his bed.
Gu Yuebai said nothing, but Jin Xi could clearly sense his cousin’s disgust toward Yan Mingyue.
