Reborn as an Alpha and Still Wanting to Engage in Lesbian Relationships - Chapter 31.2
It was in a puppy-like child’s nature to pounce and act cute. The three sweet little “puppies” tackled the beta teacher, sending her tumbling onto the activity room floor. Laughing and playing, they snuggled into Teacher Li’s arms, showering her with affection.
Teacher Li was utterly overwhelmed, repeatedly begging for mercy from the three energetic little ones.
As it was already quite late, Teacher Li worried that sending the four children back might wake the others. After a moment’s thought, she brought her own bedding from the office, spread it out on the floor, and invited the children to join her for a nap.
Though there were four of them, the little ones, already accustomed to sleeping together from time to time, didn’t hesitate at all.
Following Jiang Man’s lead, they thanked Teacher Li, took off their little socks and placed them at the foot of the bedding, and helped each other remove and neatly arrange their smocks and outerwear.
Jiang Man, huffing and puffing, climbed to one side of the bedding and plopped down with a soft thud, like a magnet with a specific pull. The other three children quickly and skillfully gathered around her, lying down and closing their eyes.
Within moments, Teacher Li watched as the four little ones huddled together, their soft snores filling the room.
So adorable.
Teacher Li’s heart melted, her expression as gentle as water. She quietly walked over, spread a small blanket over the four children, and found a spot for herself to rest.
It was the first time Teacher Li had found the sunlight in the activity room so hypnotic. She had only intended to close her eyes for a short while, but she ended up falling into a deep sleep. It was only thanks to the four well-behaved children, who helped each other change clothes and woke her up, that she didn’t oversleep.
When she first woke up, Teacher Li’s mind was still foggy.
Shaking her head to clear it, she looked at the four neatly dressed children and couldn’t resist giving them a ruffle before packing up her things.
The children didn’t mention the incident, and Teacher Li forgot to inform the teacher on naptime duty that day. Until the four little ones graduated from kindergarten, the teacher on duty never found out that they hadn’t returned to their rooms to sleep that afternoon.
Jiang Man actually loved summer very much. After Lesser Fullness (Xiaoman) passed, the Summer Solstice would arrive her younger sister’s birthday.
Outside the window, cicadas were screeching at the top of their lungs. Fang Jin, wearing a straw hat and holding a net, ran below Jiang Man’s window.
Holding onto her hat with one hand, she looked up and shouted, “Manman, Manman!”
The little one, who had been catching up on her craft homework, put down her work and bounced over to the window.
A warm breeze blew in, lifting the curtains. An incredibly cute little face popped out, looking down at her three friends waiting below. She waved cheerfully at them.
Turning around, she snatched her straw hat from the clothes rack, hurriedly pulled open the door, and called out as she ran, “Mom, I’m heading out!”
Hearing the little one’s movements, Jiang Feng who was preparing afternoon desserts in the kitchen stepped out in response, only to catch a glimpse of the child darting outside in a hurry.
“That girl…”
Watching Jiang Man’s cheerful figure, Jiang Feng shook her head with a smile. Turning around, she noticed her wife had just woken up and quickly washed her hands before stepping forward to wrap her in an embrace. “I made some mango pomelo sago. Fang Jin and the others called Man out. Honey, would you like some?”
Having filmed several night scenes in a row, Liu Ying leaned into her wife’s arms, inhaling the soothing scent of pinewood, and nodded drowsily with a yawn.
Jiang Feng guided her wife to sit on the sofa, brought over the carefully prepared mango pomelo sago, and sat beside her, watching intently as her beautiful wife took small, delicate sips.
“By the way,”
The cool dessert settling in her stomach helped Liu Ying wake up a little. She turned to see her wife cupping her face, gazing at her with rapt attention, and reached out to gently pinch her cheeks. “Xu Nuo and Wen Yu are going on another honeymoon. They mentioned having Xiao Qing stay with us for a while. If it’s inconvenient, she can stay across the street, and we can still look after her.”
Since her wife was more devoted to her career, Chairwoman Jiang who rarely got to enjoy alone time with her wife throughout the year couldn’t help feeling a pang of jealousy. “Hmph, no matter where she stays, she’ll end up sharing a bed with Manman anyway.”
Smack! The jealous Chairwoman Jiang, who had spoken without thinking, received a light slap from her wife.
But instead of getting angry, Chairwoman Jiang perked up, wagging an imaginary tail enthusiastically. “Honey, let’s go on a honeymoon too.”
Looking down at Jiang Feng’s sparkling, pleading eyes, Liu Ying pondered for a moment.
Compared to Xu Nuo, she knew she took Jiang Feng for granted, she wasn’t even one-tenth as clingy as Xu Nuo was with Wen Yu.
Seeing Liu Ying’s resolve softening, the now puppy-like Chairwoman Jiang hugged her fragrant wife’s waist and whined, “Let’s go, let’s go.”
Amused, Liu Ying twirled a strand of her wife’s hair playfully. “Manman won’t start first grade until next semester. We should at least wait until she’s in middle school.”
“Really?!”
Hearing this, Jiang Feng straightened up excitedly, as if ready to instruct her assistant to arrange for Jiang Man to skip grades.
But before she could pull out her communicator, her wife tapped her again. “What are you doing? This is Manman’s final year of kindergarten let her enjoy one more year of play.”
“You spoil her too much. She could easily start elementary school this year if she wanted to.”
Pulled back, Jiang Feng hugged Liu Ying sulkily and couldn’t resist complaining, “Manman is so mischievous now, she can’t sit still at all. Her craft project has been sitting there for three days and it’s still only half-finished.”
“But…”
The moment their daughter was mentioned, a smile never left Jiang Feng’s face. “I took a look, it’s quite creative and full of ideas. Manman might just reach heights we can’t even imagine and win the affection of many more people.”
Liu Ying smiled, agreeing with her words.
Outside the window, cicadas chirped relentlessly. Inside the living room, the two wives held each other, their voices light and cheerful with laughter as they whispered intimately.
Jiang Man ran downstairs to meet up with her friends.
Seeing Fang Jin fully geared up, Jiang Man slowed her pace and approached them, asking curiously, “What are we doing today?”
Fang Jin grinned and, seemingly out of nowhere, produced a crude fishing rod to hand to Jiang Man.
The object, barely deserving the name “fishing rod,” clearly showed it was handmade by Fang Jin, exuding simplicity from every angle.
Jiang Man swung it a few times and looked at her curiously. “Are we going fishing?”
“Yep!” Fang Jin hopped to her side with a cheer, hugging her tightly with a touched expression. “Manzai, it’s always us two who are the best of friends!”
The two standing under the shade of the tree saw their actions and walked over from beneath the canopy.
From kindergarten to first grade, time had only taken away the baby fat from the cheeks of the little ones except for Jiang Man. Wen Qing, who had already celebrated her fourth birthday, had lost the chubbiness in her face, revealing her increasingly delicate and lovely features.
Mu Qian reached out and pulled Fang Jin off Jiang Man, then patted the shoulder of the fuming Fang Jin, deliberately shaking her head. Before the silly Fang Jin could react, she dashed to the other side of Jiang Man.
Finally realizing she had been tricked, Fang Jin angrily threw a few punches into the air and ran after her friends, who were already walking away.
The fishing spot was one Fang Jin had scouted out earlier. The water wasn’t deep, but it was teeming with fish.
Seeing the astonished looks on her friends’ faces, Fang Jin let out a proud chuckle. “Heh heh, what do you think? Pretty impressive, right? I managed to find such a prime spot!”
Her bragging, as expected, earned her sarcastic remarks from Wen Qing and Mu Qian. In contrast, Jiang Man was quite intrigued. While the others bickered, she found a spot and cast Fang Jin’s makeshift fishing hook into the water.
Jiang Man focused intently on the water’s surface. After a long while, ripples appeared where the hook had sunk.
Seizing the moment, Jiang Man flicked the fishing rod, and a lively carp was flung onto the grass, struggling for its last breaths.
Fang Jin took a glance and estimated it weighed about six or seven pounds. She couldn’t help but give Jiang Man a thumbs-up. “Manzai, if only I could have a bit of your luck! That’s amazing!”
With Jiang Man setting a great example, the other three felt confident enough to bait their hooks and cast them as well.
But one hour, two hours, three hours passed, and the water remained undisturbed.
Seeing her dejected friends, Jiang Man held back a laugh and comforted them. “It’s okay, one fish is enough for all of us.”
The three unsuccessful little ones nodded in disappointment.
But…
“What do we do with it?” Mu Qian asked after taking a full set of commemorative photos of Jiang Man’s catch. “My mom is away for further training, and my other mom is on set, so no one’s home.”
Fang Jin also raised her hand. “My mom’s university hasn’t started break yet, and she’s busy grading her students’ papers. My other mom went to keep her company.”
Jiang Man scratched her head. “As far as I know, my mom and Chairman Jiang probably don’t know how to handle fish, but Chairman Jiang can cook it.”
That left only…
Everyone’s hopeful gazes turned to Wen Qing.
“My mom and her are off on another honeymoon. No one’s home,” Wen Qing shrugged helplessly. “But if Manman wants to eat it, I can learn how to prepare it.”
“Tsk, Aunt Xu Nuo and Aunt Wen Yu are getting sweeter by the day,” Fang Jin couldn’t help but comment, then shifted the topic. “Since none of us, me, Mu Qian, or Wen Qing have anyone at home, Manman, why don’t you ask Aunt Liu Ying if we can camp out here tonight!”
Fang Jin eagerly raised her hand. “I, along with Manzai, will take charge of grilling the fish!”
Though Fang Jin was enthusiastic, Jiang Man couldn’t resist dampening her spirits a little. “What about the tent, the grill, and the knife?”
Fang Jin chuckled, turned, and ran behind a large tree, pulling out the supplies she had prepared earlier.
Tent, grill, and even oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar everything was fully equipped!
Mu Qian looked at the well-prepared equipment on the ground, then raised her eyes to the guilty-looking Fang Jin. “Fang Jin, you had this all planned out from the start, didn’t you?”
Fang Jin avoided her gaze, pretending to be deaf, and quickly urged them to get started.
After a busy afternoon, the four young ones finally got to taste the grilled fish they had spent so much time on, under a sky dotted with stars and a bright moon.
To be honest, the grilled fish wasn’t tasty at all bitter, fishy, and salty.
Yet the four youngsters playfully fought over it and finished every last bite.
Lying in the open-air tent, gazing at the starry sky, Jiang Man listened to the playful banter of Fang Jin and the others. With the sound of cicadas in her ears and friends by her side, she blinked slowly and drifted into a dream.
In the morning, sunlight gently woke Jiang Man.
She sat up, dazed, to find her friends already gone. After gathering her thoughts for a moment inside the tent, she got up and went out to look for them.
The morning air by the small river was slightly cool, and the lush green grass was dotted with tiny, glistening dewdrops.
Jiang Man walked to the riverbank to wash up when she suddenly heard laughter from the other side.
She looked up to see her friends, who had woken up earlier and crossed the river, waving at her from the opposite bank.
The river wasn’t wide. With a cheerful reply, she stepped across the stream and dashed over the vibrant green grass toward her friends in the distance.
In the sunlight, the shadow cast on the ground slowly, gradually stretched from a round, chubby shape into something taller and more slender.
The youth tied up her long hair, which fluttered gracefully in the wind.
Childhood was like a cluster of colorful bubbles, blown into the air and drifting farther and farther away.
If Jiang Man were to recall her childhood again, it would no longer be gray, black and white, filled with hardship and uncertainty.
Instead, it was the glistening snow of winter and the warmth of the manor’s fireplace, the vibrant life of spring, the sun-tanned Fang Jin and Wen Qing, who seemed to glow in the summer, and Mu Qian, who always loved directing them into poses for photos in the autumn.
This time, Jiang Man’s childhood was radiant and colorful, filled with brilliant sunshine, a warm family, like-minded friends, lush green lawns, and the little foal in the manor, as old as she was.
Nurtured by love and care, the once-incomplete young one grew up under everyone’s protection, becoming a presence even brighter and more dazzling than the sun.
