Reborn as an Alpha and Still Wanting to Engage in Lesbian Relationships - Chapter 26.3
Gazing at her sister’s beautiful face, Jiang Man couldn’t help but imagine what Wen Qing would look like when she grew up.
Even though Wen Qing might differentiate into an alpha, with such a pretty sister growing up, she was bound to become many people’s cherished memory, their unforgettable first love.
At first, Jiang Man was just staring blankly at her sister’s lovely face, but as she kept looking, she became completely mesmerized.
Sister Wen Qing’s face was just too beautiful!
It was practically the perfect example of “the face that could launch a thousand ships”!
The little one’s eyes curved into happy crescents as she cupped her cheeks and spent her time admiring her sister’s beautiful face.
Finally, the other two little ones in their small beds showed signs of waking up.
Hearing Fang Jin’s soft murmurs, Jiang Man pulled herself up using the bed rail and began babbling excitedly at her two sleepy companions.
Through Manzai’s persistent efforts, the two little ones finally woke up properly and, imitating Manzai, pulled themselves up using the bed rails and began chattering back at her.
Hearing the commotion, the nanny hurried into the room and quickly quieted the three little ones who had evolved into beagle-like noisemakers.
In the afternoon, Li Chengxi and Qian Duowei took on their duties as the day’s guardians, getting all four little ones neatly dressed and prettied up before leading the small procession, complete with handmade flags, toward the manor’s small orchard.
The nanny had informed them this morning that the cherries in the orchard were ready for picking. Li Chengxi had originally planned to bring the little ones in the morning, but since Manzai had been in low spirits then, she wouldn’t have enjoyed the outing even if she had come.
Therefore, upon receiving word that Wen Qing would be returned, Li Chengxi decisively rescheduled the cherry-picking activity for the afternoon.
To make it easier for the little ones to pick, the orchard had specially planted dwarf cherry trees that matched the children’s height perfectly. Even the highest cherries could be reached by the little ones just by standing on their tiptoes.
Wearing her little straw hat and carrying a small bamboo basket, Jiang Man led the way with visible excitement.
No matter how many times she visited the orchard for picking, Jiang Man always felt the same thrill as her first time.
Back when she was in school, orchard picking trips organized by the school required additional fees.
While the cost wasn’t much for most people around twenty or thirty for Jiang Man at that time, it was a fortune.
It would be dishonest to say she wasn’t envious.
Every time the next day, listening to her classmates gathering in small groups and chattering excitedly about the fun they had during the previous day’s picking, the young girl’s fragile and sensitive self-esteem would be shattered by their casual, unintentional remarks.
After being broken enough times, she grew accustomed to it.
So when the teacher assigned them to write about their picking experiences, while her classmates wrote about the amusing incidents during fruit picking, Jiang Man wrote about the small vegetable patch the orchard had set up to save money.
After all, picking fruits and picking vegetables weren’t that different, right?
…No, they weren’t the same at all!
Now, Manzai could run up to the skinny, malnourished Jiang Man, holding her little bamboo basket, and offer her the cherries she had picked, telling her:
Picking fruit and harvesting vegetables are entirely different experiences. But only by enduring those awkward, difficult times of youth while staying true to her kind-hearted nature…
On that future day, the day she saved the child, the day she tragically lost her life Heaven would take pity and reunite her with her mother and mama.
Here, the once-insecure and sensitive Jiang Man would meet so many family members who adored her and friends who cherished her.
Along with countless sisters and aunties who, though they’d never met her face-to-face, loved and blessed her from behind their screens.
Jiang Man would become the happiest, luckiest Manman the Great in the whole world, the entire universe, across all dimensions!
Though it was afternoon, the sun wasn’t too harsh.
Wearing her little straw hat, Jiang Man watched as Fang Jin nimbly climbed up and down the small tree.
From a distance, she didn’t look like a human child but more like a chubby little monkey.
Jiang Man giggled at the mental image of Fang Jin as a monkey, stretched her arms, and prepared to continue advancing toward the cherries with her little basket.
“Hmph!”
The little one nearly strained her back from the sudden weight of the bamboo basket!
Heart still racing, she clutched her round waist which she couldn’t even properly feel and looked down at the now-heavy basket.
Somehow, the small bamboo basket was already filled to the brim with bright red, plump cherries.
Where did these magical cherry maidens come from!
The little one crouched in front of the basket, her eyes wide with astonishment.
Before she could figure out where all these cherries had come from, she saw her little friends returning with their own baskets full to the brim.
The three children crouched familiarly on the ground, emptying their baskets of cherries, while Wen Qing, the final inspector, sorted through them carefully.
In the end, the cherries were divided into three piles: large and bright red ones, smaller but pretty ones, and the ugly, bruised, or bug-bitten ones.
After Wen Qing’s meticulous sorting, and by popular vote, Mu Qian earned the honor of transporting the cherries into Manzai’s basket!
With great responsibility on her shoulders, Mu Qian carried her own small basket and, right in front of the little one in question, poured the large, bright red premium cherries into her basket.
She paid no mind to the fact that the tiny bamboo basket could no longer handle so many cherries.
But Mu Qian seemed to have taken a crash course in architecture. Seeing that the cherries wouldn’t all fit, she crouched down, took them out one by one, and began stacking a cherry mountain atop the already overflowing pile.
Once the last cherry was securely placed, Mu Qian stood up, brushed off her hands, her deed done without seeking recognition.
Staring at the cherry mountain in her basket, the little one was stunned for a moment before standing up and rounding up the three children who had been about to continue picking cherries.
Watching the three “culprits” crouch before the “evidence” basket, Officer Manman frowned fiercely, her eyes stern: “What’s this all about?”
Fang Jin and Mu Qian exchanged glances over Wen Qing’s head, silently communicating for a moment before deciding to confess!
They both raised their hands in unison, pointing at the pretty child crouched between them.
“Qingzai did it!”
“Yes, yes!”
The two little traitors didn’t even need Officer Manman’s “interrogation” to instantly turn on their friend.
The two children stood up, pattered over to Jiang Man, and flanked her on either side, ready to tattle.
From Wen Qing ignoring everyone all the way to scheming to pick cherries to cheer up Manzai.
On the surface, the two silly, cheerful little ones deeply remembered every single offense of the guilty Wen Qing, holding a grudge, and now they listed them one by one for Officer Manman, begging her to uphold justice for them!
“Really?”
Listening to Fang Jin and Mu Qian tag-teaming their complaints, Officer Manman showed a skeptical expression.
No matter how she listened, Jiang Man couldn’t connect the two-faced little troublemaker they described with the delicate, pitiable Wen Qing.
Officer Manman’s suspicious gaze shifted among the three little ones.
The accused pretty little one looked wronged, swaying unsteadily before plopping down on the ground, appearing extremely fragile.
The upright Officer Manman’s resolve wavered.
Then, she saw Wen Qing struggle to stand up again and then obediently squat down.
The small mountain of cherries was about half as tall as Wen Qing, making her appear even tinier.
In the blink of an eye, the upright Officer Manman turned into a besotted ruler, blinded by beauty.
The besotted ruler didn’t heed the advice of her two loyal subjects. Instead, she ran over, pulled the delicate, pitiable Wen Qing up from the ground, and covered her ears with both hands: “Sis, don’t listen, don’t listen! It’s nonsense!”
Jiang Man had inexplicable confidence in Wen Qing, it must be that Fang Jin and Mu Qian were afraid of being scolded, so they falsely accused such a well-behaved little sister!
How could such a pretty little sister be a troublemaker!
Just as Jiang Man was mentally absolving Wen Qing, Wen Qing grabbed her hand, her eyes glistening: “Is Manzai happy now?”
“Huh?” Jiang Man looked at her little sister in confusion. “What?”
Wen Qing pointed at the mountain of cherries in the basket and asked, “Auntie said Manzai was unhappy this morning. Now there are so, so many fruits is Manzai happy now?”
Hearing this, Jiang Man felt a warm current flow through her heart, making it feel toasty.
Deeply moved, Emperor Manman tightly hugged the silly little sister who clumsily tried to comfort her with big fruits, her heart softening.
As the big sister, she had let her little sister find out she was unhappy this morning and even got comforted like this. Jiang Man blushed, awkwardly touching her cheeks.
But the pretty little one pressed her advantage, tightly hugging her beloved Manzai and earnestly promising: “I will always be good to Manzai, cheer Manzai up, and make Manzai happy.”
Ah, she’s an angel, this little sister!
Jiang Man’s eyes welled up with (non-existent) tears of emotion as she hugged back tightly.
“Me too!” declared Manman the Great, whose speech hadn’t improved much, as she held Wen Qing. “Forever good to sis!”
[Thin Chocolate is So Tasty: Pfft hahahahaha, where’s Director Jiang! I report, there’s a little troublemaker not only exploiting child labor but also using your fruits to coax your kid!]
[Thin Chocolate Isn’t Mint Toothpaste: LOL, Qing really is something, taking advantage and getting treats too haha.]
[Manman Is Mine: Aww! Manman, you’re such an easily fooled sweet little dummy!]
[Natural Birth Isn’t as Quick as a Smooth Delivery: Wow, is Qing a case of family inheritance or a sudden mutation? So cunning! Every move is like a professional little green tea act!]
The audience in the comments burst into laughter at Wen Qing’s clever antics, unaware that Director Jiang, who wasn’t on the solo livestream today, was probably fuming.
Seeing his wife fuming, Liu Ying wisely reached out to smooth her hair, gently patting down the anger simmering on Jiang Feng’s head.
Watching as Jiang Feng gradually calmed down, Liu Ying withdrew her hand and picked up two bags of ribbons to compare them. “Let’s hurry and pick out what we need to go back. Manzai must be missing us by now.”
The CEO who felt like her home had been invaded, Jiang Feng, nodded reluctantly and pushed the shopping cart, trailing behind her wife.
The four little ones had been frolicking in the orchard all afternoon. The moment they returned to the villa, the previously energetic youngsters plopped down onto the carpet like deflated balloons.
Fang Jin, the main instigator of all the climbing, was especially alarming. The moment her left foot crossed the threshold, she flopped onto the carpet and started snoring softly, her gear scattered all around.
Jiang Man, who hadn’t climbed much but hadn’t rested well at noon due to her bad mood, was also struggling to keep her eyes open. However, to maintain her image as the responsible older sister in front of Wen Qing, she stubbornly pushed through.
By the time Aunt Li Chengxi placed her in the high chair for milk, Jiang Man’s eyelids were drooping heavily. Sucking and swallowing had become purely muscle memory.
She had no recollection of whether she finished the milk or how much was left in the bottle.
The sleeping child was gently picked up by Li Chengxi and placed back in the crib.
“Are they asleep?” Qian Duowei peeked her head in through the doorway and, seeing Li Chengxi nod, whispered, “Okay, I’ll let Sister Liu Ying and the others come in then.”
The two adults tiptoed out of the nursery like stealthy dogs, carefully turning on the soundproofing equipment and gently locking the door from the outside.
The little one, sleeping soundly in the crib, must have been dreaming of something delicious, as she smacked her lips contentedly.
The nursery’s soundproofing was excellent. By the time Li Chengxi and Qian Duowei went downstairs, CEO Jiang and Wen Yu were coming in with armfuls of supplies.
Seeing the mountain of items piled in their arms, Li Chengxi and Qian Duowei hurried down to help steady them.
Just as the items from Wen Yu and Jiang Feng’s arms were unloaded, Xu Nuo made a dazzling entrance, sporting a pair of sunglasses.
Following behind her were a group of well-trained maids from the Wen family estate.
Striking a domineering CEO pose, Xu Nuo removed her sunglasses, a smirk playing on her lips as she addressed the disciplined maids. “Thank you all for your hard work. Please decorate the living room and nursery tonight, and finish before the little ones wake up.”
Staff from the manor had also been summoned by Liu Ying. Unlike the silent, efficient Wen family maids, the younger manor employees brought a much more relaxed atmosphere.
Aware of the “rivalry” between their boss’s wife and the other boss’s wife, both sides maintained cheerful or neutral expressions on the surface, but a subtle competition simmered beneath.
The living room was soon adorned with decorations.
Ribbons on the walls, balloons in the corners, and hydrogen balloons floating near the ceiling. A stage embellished with the freshest flowers, and at its center, a mannequin wearing a hand-sewn little dress studded with diamonds…
Once the living room was complete, the group gathered downstairs to prepare all the materials. Then, moving with quiet efficiency, they tiptoed into the nursery, swiftly and deftly decorating the room.
The next morning, the little one opened her bleary eyes.
As she fully woke up, the first thing she saw was the ceiling adorned with beautiful ribbons.
“Wow!”
Jiang Man rolled over and sat up, gazing at the stunning ceiling, her mouth hanging open in awe.
Hearing the little one’s exclamation, the maids filed in, gently picked up the child, and dressed her in the beautiful dress that had been placed on the mannequin the night before.
In the hands of the maids, Jiang Man was like the beloved protagonist of a dress-up game from a past life, letting the sisters change her clothes and style her.
Her light brownish-yellow hair was braided into pretty little plaits that didn’t tug at her scalp, and a dazzling, beautiful little crown was securely placed atop the child’s head.
“Hmm?”
Sensing the weight of the crown on her head, the little one looked up in confusion.
Once she was all dressed up, the little one was carried out by the maid and handed over to Chairwoman Jiang.
Seeing her mother, Jiang Man finally noticed that both her mother and mama were dressed exceptionally beautifully today!
Before long, Wen Qing, Fang Jin, and Mu Qian were also all dressed up and carried out by their mothers or mamas.
Hmm… was there some kind of event today?
The little one tilted her head in confusion.
The securely fastened little crown didn’t slip off as she shook her head, but she could still feel its weight.
It was then that Jiang Man noticed that her three little friends’ heads were bare.
What was going to happen?
Jiang Man was puzzled inside, curiously looking at her beautiful mama.
Liu Ying didn’t say a word, but with a smile in her eyes, she took the custom-made “glass slippers” from Sun Miao and gently slipped them onto the little one’s feet.
The little one, wearing her crown, was set down on the floor by her mother. Once she was steady, her mother gracefully bowed to her and extended her hand.
Hesitantly, Jiang Man raised her chubby little hand and placed it into her mother’s beautiful palm. Guided by her mother, the little one descended the steps one by one.
“Wow!”
Before her eyes lay a path paved with flowers. At the end of the path was a small platform decorated with floral arrangements, and on the screen of the platform, photos of the little one from her wrinkled newborn days to her recent adventures riding a pony and picking fruit yesterday were scrolling by.
The curtains in the living room were drawn tightly, and the lights suddenly went out, replaced by the soft glow of candlelight.
Liu Ying appeared, holding a cake made collaboratively by the Xu Nuo family, and presented it to the little one.
“Happy birthday, Manzai.”
Jiang Man snapped back to reality, looking at the smiling faces around her and hearing them say:
“Happy birthday, little one born from the love poured out by the whole world and two dimensions, the beloved child, Jiang Man.”
