Reborn as an Alpha and Still Wanting to Engage in Lesbian Relationships - Chapter 22.4
Under the toddlers’ adoring, starry gazes, the security guards, who had arrived late but subdued the goose in one move shyly scratched their heads.
Jiang Feng, whose image had been completely ruined, spotted the little troublemaker and felt a surge of irritation. Stomping over with imposing steps, she scooped up the starry-eyed toddler and began pinching her chubby cheeks in playful retaliation.
“Jiang Xiao Man, what a brilliant move diverting the trouble onto me, huh!” The disheveled President Jiang, with her messy hair, rumpled clothes, and even untied shoelaces, held her daughter firmly and pinched her cheeks to “vent.” “You little schemer!”
Jiang Man struggled while taking in her mother’s current appearance, unable to resist covering her mouth and laughing. This only made Jiang Feng even more “angry,” and she ruffled her daughter’s hair even more vigorously.
Feeling guilty, the toddler quickly begged for mercy, blinking her large, watery eyes pleadingly at her mother.
Her eyes filled with obvious flattery, the little one put on an act of being well-behaved, hugging her mother and planting several kisses on her, which completely dissolved Jiang Feng’s remaining anger.
Jiang Feng sighed at her own lack of resolve when it came to her daughter, poking the toddler’s chubby cheek with her index finger. “You’re such a little schemer. Jiang Man sweetly leaned in again, giving her mother a loud, smacking kiss.
Looking at the equally awkward toddler, Jiang Feng’s anger melted away completely.
With the help of the security team, the great human-goose battle came to an end.
The goose, knocked unconscious unwillingly after being struck hard on the head, lay limp in the net. A security guard held the net and asked Jiang Feng how she wanted the goose handled.
Recalling the embarrassing memory of being chased by the evil goose, both mother and daughter gritted their teeth in unison.
“Boil water, pluck the feathers, we’re stewing it for lunch today!”
“Eat it!”
They spoke in unison, then paused in surprise at each other’s words before solemnly shaking hands.
Truly my daughter, we’re so in sync! (This was Jiang Dong.)
Truly my mother even though she’s usually a bit mischievous, she thinks exactly like her little one! (This was Manman the Great.)
With the help of the evil goose, Jiang Feng and Jiang Man, the contentious mother-daughter pair, achieved a historic reconciliation today or did they?
The manor’s chef, with his extraordinary skills, brought out his ancestral specialty to entertain the guests and soothe the boss’s wounded heart: the most beloved delicacy from ancient Earth, iron pot stewed goose!
To make it convenient for everyone to enjoy, the chef set up a pot and heated oil in the shaded area of the lawn.
The once proud, domineering, and unruly goose was now plucked, chopped into pieces, and tossed into the large iron pot to stew.
After just a short while, the aroma began to waft from beneath the lid.
Unlike the restrained and composed adults, the refreshed little ones gathered around the pot without any hesitation, drooling with anticipation.
For the first time, Jiang Man felt that time was so incredibly long. It seemed like she had waited for centuries before the goose was finally ready!
To accommodate the four little ones present, the chef didn’t use many seasonings, simply stir-frying and stewing the dish, yet he still managed to stir up their appetites.
Among the four children, two had already passed their first birthdays and could eat meat, one was about to celebrate their first birthday and could try a little, and only Wen Qing hadn’t reached the age where she could chew meat on her own.
Jiang Man held her bowl, drooling as she gazed at the tender meat wrapped in stewed potatoes.
Turning her head, she noticed that Wen Qing’s bowl had no meat at all just potatoes and some side dishes like green beans.
Jiang Man had some in her bowl too.
But the little one, clutching her bowl, wrinkled her nose and, in a spot unseen by the adults, secretly made a painful trade with her meatless little sister.
Jiang Man crept over to Wen Qing like a sneaky puppy and whispered, “Meat, beans, sister!”
Wen Qing looked at the vegetables in her bowl, then up at Jiang Man’s scrunched-up little face. “Manzai doesn’t want to eat meat and green beans?”
“No way!” Jiang Man quickly denied.
How could any child refuse meat? Especially the meat of the evil goose that had just bullied them!
Seeing Wen Qing’s puzzled expression, Jiang Man gripped her spoon, scooped up the few green beans in her bowl, and plopped them into Wen Qing’s bowl. “Beans, no!”
Her scrunched-up face expressed just how much she detested green beans.
Although all the beans were now in Wen Qing’s bowl, Jiang Man hadn’t forgotten the bargaining chip for her trade.
After picking through her bowl, she selected a piece of meat with the most flesh and hardly any bones, scooped it up with her spoon, and reluctantly placed it into Wen Qing’s bowl.
Looking at her bean-free bowl, Jiang Man felt much happier and flashed a sweet smile at Wen Qing. “Eat it!”
Wen Qing was more than happy to be Jiang Man’s food disposal bin. The flavorful green beans, stewed to perfection, were quickly devoured.
When she looked up again, Jiang Man was still struggling with the piece of meat she had started chewing earlier.
The meat of the evil goose was so firm and chewy clearly, it had spent plenty of time ruling the manor as the boss.
Recalling how she had been chased until she burst into tears, the embarrassed Little Boss Manman gnawed even more diligently at her food.
Finally, after Jiang Man’s persistent efforts, she finished one piece of meat!
Then came the second, the third.
After finishing the last bite, Jiang Man still felt a bit unsatisfied. But when she looked down at her bowl, it was completely empty.
Rubbing her still-hungry belly, Jiang Man picked up her little bowl and ran to her mother, acting cute to beg for more meat.
Jiang Feng deliberately picked up a piece of meat and dangled it in front of the little one. The child’s round eyes followed the meat as it moved.
“Does Manman want to eat?” Jiang Feng asked, already knowing the answer.
The little one blinked her big eyes and nodded eagerly, her face full of longing.
Then, the child watched as her mischievous, mean mother chuckled and popped that piece of meat into her own mouth.
Not content with just eating it, Jiang Feng deliberately flashed a smug grin at the fuming little one. “Hehe, I’m not giving any to Manman.”
Such provocation, how could the mighty Boss Manman tolerate it?
For the sake of meat, Boss Manman could tolerate it.
Surprisingly, the little one didn’t throw a tantrum like a firecracker, which left Jiang Feng feeling a bit unsettled.
After teasing her a few more times and seeing the pitiful look in the child’s eyes, Jiang Feng’s nonexistent conscience began to ache faintly.
Finally, under the little one’s pleading gaze, Jiang Feng picked up another piece of meat and placed it steadily into the child’s small spoon.
Liu Ying, who had been sitting nearby watching the mother-daughter antics, suddenly spotted a flash of red just as the meat was about to land in the spoon. She was about to speak up when her wife stopped her.
Her wife winked at her triumphantly and soothingly squeezed her shoulder. “It’s fine, just a tiny piece, it’ll give her a little spice, that’s all.”
Even so, Liu Ying still felt uneasy and tried to get up to remove it for the child.
But once again, her wife firmly held her in place.
Finally getting what she wanted, the little one’s eyes were fixed solely on the meat in her spoon, completely unaware of her mothers’ whispered exchange. She lifted the spoon and shoved the meat into her mouth with an “om nom.”
The rich meaty flavor filled the child’s mouth, and Jiang Man happily cupped her chubby cheeks with her hands, squinting her eyes as she chewed and chewed.
But moments later, Jiang Man sensed something was wrong.
The mouth that had been full of savory meat suddenly felt as if a burning torch had been thrown into it her little tongue began to sting and burn.
When she looked up, she saw her mother doubled over with laughter.
Tiny sparks of anger flickered in the child’s round eyes.
The little one quickly spat out the offending substance with a series of “ptui, ptui, ptui.” Staring at the single red speck amid all the green, Jiang Man understood everything.
That wicked, mean mother had secretly hidden chili in the meat!
Furious and burning, the child stomped her feet and scurried around searching for her bottle.
Jiang Feng watched her daughter’s flustered state and couldn’t help feeling smug.
The next second, Liu Ying’s slap landed on her face, and the previously triumphant Director Jiang instantly became docile.
Under her wife’s glare, Jiang Feng obediently handed over the hidden bottle to the child.
Clutching the bottle like a parched desert traveler spotting an oasis, the little one gulped down the milk eagerly.
After half a bottle, the spiciness in her mouth finally subsided.
The grudge-holding Boss Manman’s eyes blazed with fierce anger.
Seizing the moment while her mom was lecturing her mother, Jiang Man carried her little bowl back to Wenqing’s side. Spotting the red chili flakes in her little sister’s bowl, her eyes suddenly sparkled with a bright, mischievous gleam.
Jiang Man coquettishly took Wen Qing’s little sister’s rice bowl and carefully picked out the few chili slices into her own bowl.
But there weren’t many, just a tiny amount.
This simply wasn’t enough!
Jiang Man returned the rice bowl to Wen Qing’s little sister and, clutching her own small bowl, went to find Fang Jin and Mu Qian.
The chili skins from the three little ones’ bowls were gathered together, barely making a spoonful’s worth.
Although the mighty Manman was very dissatisfied, she couldn’t scrape together any more.
Clutching the spoonful of chili skins, the little one sneaked over to her mother like a stealthy puppy.
Jiang Feng hung his head, still being scolded by his wife as if he were a misbehaving puppy. Neither of the two mothers noticed the sneaky little one.
It was Jiang Man’s first time doing something mischievous, and she was a bit nervous.
While keeping an eye on her mother’s movements, she secretly tiptoed and brought her mother’s rice bowl down.
Holding the rice bowl in her arms, the little one instinctively let out a sigh of relief.
Turning her head to glance at her still-scolded mother, the little one flashed a smile comparable to that of the evil goose king.
The spoonful of chili skins was entirely stuffed by the little one into the gap between the meat and the skin. To make it seamless, she even scooped a spoonful of mashed potatoes to cover the meat.
With everything done, the little one secretly placed the rice bowl back in its original position and sneaked away like a puppy.
It wasn’t that no one noticed the little one’s sneaky actions. Everyone exchanged glances, smiled knowingly, and, full of mischief, chose not to say anything.
After being scolded by his wife for a long time, Jiang Feng deeply realized his mistake. Dejectedly, he turned around to eat his dinner, hoping to lift his spirits with food.
The little one wandered nearby and, after watching her mother put the carefully processed piece of meat into her mouth, let out the villainous “hehehe” laughter.
Jiang Feng chewed a few times and realized something was wrong.
A sharp, spicy pain shot up from the base of his tongue, and sweat instantly broke out.
The little one, having achieved her revenge, couldn’t hide her joy. She laughed heartily with her hands on her hips, and the adults around couldn’t help but laugh along.
For a moment, the green lawn was filled with laughter.
Seeing the little one’s triumphant expression, Jiang Feng immediately realized who was behind the mischief.
Looking at the little one with her hands on her hips, Jiang Feng felt both spicy and amused. After drinking the water his wife handed him, he pretended to chase after the little one to “get even.”
Watching Jiang Feng and Jiang Man start their chase, Fang Jin and Mu Qian quickly finished their meals, wiped their mouths, and joined in the pursuit.
Chased by the goose in the morning and by Jiang Feng at noon.
But Jiang Feng’s chase lacked the urgency of the goose. The little ones treated it as a game, laughing and hiding playfully on the lawn.
The little ones were exhausted from the day’s activities and started yawning as soon as the fun was over.
They sat crookedly on the play mat spread over the lawn, basking in the warm sun, and soon dozed off, fast asleep.
The adults lay down on another play mat, set up a sunshade, and closed their eyes contentedly as a gentle breeze blew by.
By the time the little ones woke up, it was already 3 p.m.
It was only early summer, and the sun at 3 or 4 p.m. wasn’t as intense or scorching as at noon, making it the perfect time to run around.
Jiang Man sat up on the play mat, and Liu Ying noticed immediately, bringing her a temperature-perfect bottle of milk to rehydrate.
After a few big gulps, Jiang Man felt fully recharged!
The estate was vast, with more than just lawns and flowers, it was said to include several orchards, a small zoo, and a horse ranch.
This afternoon, the little ones were scheduled to feed the small animals.
