Reborn as an Alpha and Still Wanting to Engage in Lesbian Relationships - Chapter 22.1
Sun Miao’s exaggerated movements drew everyone’s attention, even the little ones on the play mat curiously turned to look at her.
Everyone watched as the top-tier agent, her face flushed with excitement and joy, projected the message from her light brain onto the public screen.
Qian Duowei, a university lecturer, couldn’t help but murmur softly upon seeing the email: “Congratulations to little Jiang Man for her cameo and Ms. Liu Ying for their TV series nomination at the Golden Peach Awards. The awards committee cordially invites little Jiang Man, her companions, and Ms. Liu Ying to attend the ceremony. The event is tomorrow?”
Sun Miao nodded excitedly and pulled up the TV series Liu Ying had filmed: “The director and producers of the show Liu Ying starred in rushed the submission to meet the Golden Peach Awards deadline. They aired three episodes a day and just finished the finale yesterday!”
“Because the finale aired yesterday, the invitation only arrived today. Our little Man is going to walk the red carpet!”
Sun Miao’s exhilaration was no less than when she had accompanied Liu Ying to her first major film and television event.
Meanwhile, the little one at the center of the conversation was only now slowly processing the news.
Jiang Man pointed a tiny finger at herself, puzzled: “Me?”
Her adorably confused expression made Liu Ying chuckle. She crouched down and ruffled Jiang Man’s hair: “Yes, you! Our little Man is going to walk the red carpet at such a young age. You’re going to be a big star aren’t you happy?”
A big star!
Jiang Man grinned, her eyes crinkling into happy crescents.
Although they had received the red carpet invitation, time was still tight. The ever-busy producer immediately got on the phone to arrange outfits for the little ones and coordinate filming details with the awards committee.
After rushing through the preparations, they finally managed to sort out the children’s formal wear and filming arrangements by the end of the day.
A group gathered at Jiang Man’s family estate, watching the producer who seemed to have aged a decade in a day drown her sorrows in milk, courtesy of a sponsor.
Fellow working professional Sun Miao felt a pang of sympathy. She picked up a glass of milk, clinked it with the exhausted producer, and watched as the latter downed it in one go before immediately pulling out her light brain to draft yet another program schedule.
Sun Miao really wanted to advise the producer to just drop the planning after all, neither Jiang Man nor Wen Qing had ever followed the script. It might be better to just let them improvise.
But seeing the producer’s fragile mental state, Sun Miao swallowed her words.
Awards ceremonies like this usually start around 4 or 5 p.m. and wrap up by 8 p.m.
While adults can handle three to four hours, the little ones might not.
So, to ensure the children could sleep in the next day, Liu Ying and the other parents deliberately kept them up late the night before.
They only put the drowsy, yawning children into their cribs in the nursery when they could barely keep their eyes open.
But as soon as they reached the cribs, two of the little ones inexplicably started tussling.
Rubbing her eyes and yawning, Jiang Man groggily turned to look at the two toddlers slapping at each other.
Even the carefree Fang Jin was fighting with the pretty little girl!
Jiang Man jolted awake and quickly signaled for her mom to carry her over to break up the fight.
With Jiang Man joining in, the “battle” grew even more intense!
Jiang Man, like a chubby little doll, was tugged and pulled between the two little ones. In the end, the slightly bigger Fang Jin successfully snatched Manzai from the clutches of the “stinky” Qingzai.
Before Fang Jin could even feel proud, the fierce little one who had just been fighting her with all her might suddenly welled up with tears, and bean-sized droplets began to spill over.
The little one, barely a year old, had never encountered such a scene before! She panicked instantly and unconsciously loosened her grip on her best friend.
But in that very moment, the friend who had just been in her arms eagerly threw herself toward the now-crying little one. In a spot where her friend couldn’t see, the mischievous little one flashed Fang Jin a triumphant smile.
Fang Jin, being so young and inexperienced, couldn’t possibly handle such provocation!
She immediately wanted to stand up and settle things with the troublemaker in a “mouse fight”!
But before she could even rise to challenge Wen Qing, the latter pretended to be frightened by her movement, “panicking” as she buried herself in Manzai’s arms, trembling and seeking protection.
Jiang Man absolutely adored Wen Qing’s incredibly beautiful face, and this moment was no exception.
Seeing Wen Qing nestle into her arms with such pitiful distress, Jiang Man’s heart melted completely!
To make matters worse, she then heard Wen Qing’s tearful accusation that Jiang Man had given Fang Jin the little bed she usually slept in.
Staring into Wen Qing’s aggrieved and reproachful eyes, Jiang Man was instantly overwhelmed with guilt.
She racked her brain and came up with the best solution: offering half of her own little bed to her younger “sister.”
Fortunately, though Wen Qing seemed “reluctant,” seeing Jiang Man so troubled, she “grudgingly” agreed with a nod.
Jiang Man breathed a sigh of relief. After coaxing Fang Jin to sleep in what used to be Wen Qing’s bed, she was carried by her mother and placed into her own little bed.
Sitting on the bed, Jiang Man enthusiastically waved to Wen Qing, watching as Aunt Xu Nuo gently laid her down.
The two little ones snuggled close, held hands tightly, and then flopped onto the bed in unison, closing their eyes.
Once the children were sound asleep, Liu Ying and the others quietly slipped out of the nursery.
The four mothers stood at the doorway, silently replaying the little incident in their minds.
After a long pause, Xu Nuo hesitantly spoke up, “Was Qingqing just acting like a little green tea? No, right? She was just upset that Manzai gave her bed to Jinzai, wasn’t she?” Even as she said it, Xu Nuo sounded unconvinced.
Li Chengxi, Mu Qian’s mother, was straightforward and blunt. Unable to detect the subtle distress and lack of confidence in Xu Nu’s tone, and noticing the awkward silence, she earnestly chimed in, “It really did seem like she was playing the little green tea making Jinzai angry while winning Manzai’s sympathy.”
Hearing Li Chengxi’s brutally honest words, Xu Nuo was utterly crushed. She looked as if her soul had left her body, silently questioning her existence.
Xu Nuo couldn’t understand it. Neither she nor Wen Yu were the type to play pitiful or act like “green tea,” so how had their daughter, at such a young age and without any teaching, become a master at brewing drama?
Liu Ying patted Xu Nu’s shoulder in consolation, then yawned and headed back to her room to rest. Li Chengxi and Qian Duowei also left, returning to their guest rooms to sleep.
In the hallway, only Xu Nuo remained, lost in a whirlwind of doubt questioning her life, her genes, and even her wife’s true nature as she metaphorically grilled herself over the flames of thought.
These little ones, having stayed up late and with no one to disturb them, slept straight through until well past one in the afternoon.
When the nanny picked Jiang Man up, she was still drowsy, sitting crookedly in her high chair as she slept, her little hat nearly slipping off.
She wasn’t the only one, the other three little ones were in a similar state.
As the milk bottles were brought to their lips, their eyes remained tightly shut, but they instinctively latched onto the nipples and took a few sips.
It wasn’t until the sweet, delicious milk slid down their throats and into their bellies that the little ones were jolted awake, one by one.
Little ones are fascinating creatures as sleepy as they are when they first wake up, they become incredibly energetic once they start playing.
To better care for the little ones, Liu Ying and the others had forgone glamorous dresses and instead opted for well-tailored, comfortable hoodies and similar attire, though they had styled their hair lightly and applied minimal makeup.
Seeing their mothers all dressed up and looking stunning, the little ones’ eyes lit up in unison.
Jiang Man and Fang Jin, the two enthusiastic puppy-like toddlers, eagerly stretched out their arms, begging to be held by their beautiful mothers.
Watching his beautiful wife hold their “stinky” daughter, Jiang Feng felt a pang of jealousy. But with guests around, he couldn’t openly show his envy.
After all, how embarrassing would it be for guests to see the esteemed chairman of a major corporation competing for attention with a toddler who could barely walk!
To make matters worse, Jiang Man was a little troublemaker. Sensing her mother’s jealous gaze, she deliberately wrapped her arms around her mother’s neck and planted a big, loud, slobbery kiss on her cheek!
The loud smack made Jiang Feng so jealous that he bit the corner of his wife’s clothes in frustration.
Liu Ying couldn’t help but shake her head and chuckle at the mother-daughter duo, who acted like rivals.
With so many people today, Sun Miao had no choice but to swap the family van for a spacious business vehicle.
The car waited by the entrance of the estate villa, and after a long while with no one coming out, Sun Miao couldn’t resist honking the horn twice.
Liu Ying promptly intervened in the mother-daughter standoff and led Qian Duowei and the others outside.
Under Jiang Feng’s reluctant gaze, Sun Miao stepped on the gas, and the car sped away from the estate in no time.
This was the first time the little ones had ever seen so many people!
Nowadays, Baby’s Diary was the hottest variety show, and every participant, young or old, was a massive source of traffic.
