Pretty Wife Insists I Live Off Her - Chapter 29
Chapter 29: Yue Lei, You Took a Picture of Me!
With a heart full of anxiety, Yue Lei pushed open the front door.
After confirming that the lights in the entryway and the living room were on, her heart skipped a beat.
Yue Lei quietly changed her shoes and tiptoed into the house, step by step.
At the same time, she silently prayed in her heart that Mo Yingxue had simply forgotten to turn off the lights.
However, her hope was quickly shattered.
There was a pair of creamy white slippers by the sofa in front of the TV. They clearly belonged to her wife.
She carefully covered the clinking metal accessories on her body and nervously walked toward Mo Yingxue, her emotions complex. She didn’t know why she was waiting for her to come back.
When she finally saw who it was, Yue Lei let out a sigh of relief.
She saw her wife lying on the sofa with her eyes closed, her lips pursed, and her chest slightly rising and falling, as quiet as a windless lake.
She wasn’t specifically waiting for her. She had just fallen asleep by accident.
Although it was a little disappointing, this answer seemed more acceptable.
Yue Lei knew that Mo Yingxue was very good to her.
But she felt that it was just a casual favoritism that didn’t affect Mo Yingxue’s life, just like how people who have dogs will always casually feed them a few pieces of meat with little seasoning.
The human wouldn’t feel full from those few pieces of meat, but the dog would be happy for a long, long time.
And if Mo Yingxue wanted her to come back earlier, why didn’t she just call?
While she was eating with Fang Dan, Yue Lei had checked her phone several times. Other than a scream from Sakura who had received the cosplay behind-the-scenes footage, there was nothing.
As her employer, Mo Yingxue had no reason to wait here. She had every right to urge her to come home.
After figuring this out, Yue Lei wasn’t as nervous anymore.
She took off several of the clinking metal accessories and her noisy jacket and gently squatted down by the sofa, looking at her wife’s sleeping face.
When she was sleeping, Mo Yingxue looked almost identical to how she did in their previous life.
Her cheeks were like delicate flower petals, her skin was so soft it seemed it would break with a touch, and her long eyelashes were like tiny brushes.
It was true. Her personality was aloof, and she didn’t show much emotion on her face. Almost all her emotions were conveyed through her pair of bright eyes.
Now that those eyes were closed, wasn’t she just like her in their previous life?
But the difference was that her wife in their previous life had the most intimate relationship in the world with Yue Lei.
Lovers naturally had the special privilege of being able to kiss each other whenever they wanted without having to tell the other person.
Yue Lei couldn’t remember how many times she came home late to find her wife waiting for her and falling asleep.
What would she do then?
The first thing she would probably do was kiss her. Kiss her closed eyes, kiss her light pink lips, and pry open her teeth to taste her sweet mouth.
Most of these kisses didn’t carry any desire. They were just out of love and affection and a desire to have a more intimate touch with her.
Even if she woke her wife up, the worst she would get was a scolding.
Or she would let her hit her a few times.
No matter what, Yue Lei would be the winner.
In the first two years of their marriage, Yue Lei’s second step was usually to admit her mistake and apologize to her wife, who was woken up by her clumsy hands, and honestly explain why she came home so late today.
But her wife didn’t seem to care what she did outside.
It was just like how most domesticated cats don’t care if their owner is out hunting or having fun, as long as they come home and bring back prey, the cat will naturally be very happy.
And as a businesswoman, Yue Lei’s social events were always the same few things.
Every time she talked about them, Mo Yingxue would look bored, as if she didn’t want to listen and just wanted to go back to sleep.
So later, after they had been married for a long time, Yue Lei assumed she knew everything and stopped talking about the little things.
She would skip directly to the third step and carry her wife to bed.
Then she would tuck Mo Yingxue into bed and go to the guest bathroom to shower so she wouldn’t wake her up.
The more Yue Lei reminisced, the sadder she became.
The gap was too big.
In their previous life, the two of them were intertwined for seven or eight years, and their love had turned into an inseparable kinship.
Although they had to divorce due to objective reasons, Yue Lei always felt that as long as the two of them had shared memories, she still had a chance.
Who would have thought she would go back eight years in an instant, and everything would become a distant memory. She didn’t want to be the only one who remembered those memories, but there was nothing she could do.
Yue Lei couldn’t seem to get enough of this beautiful face. She wanted so badly to kiss her a few times while Mo Yingxue was sleeping, but in the end, she held back.
Yue Lei pretended that the person who had been squatting in front of the sofa like a pervert was not her.
She acted as if she had just returned, held Mo Yingxue’s hand in a reserved and friendly manner, but the cold temperature sent shivers down her spine.
She couldn’t care about anything else now and muttered softly: “It’s cold at night. Why did you sleep here?”
After a brief struggle in her mind, Yue Lei felt that carrying Mo Yingxue back to the bedroom would be too ambiguous.
She wasn’t worthy of doing such a thing right now.
So she chose a compromise and got a blanket to cover her wife.
She carefully tucked the blanket around her wife, but then she discovered another difference between her in her previous life and now.
The current Mo Yingxue was thinner. Although her face looked about the same, her weight was significantly different.
Her wife, who was wrapped up like a silkworm, was so cute.
Yue Lei held back and held back, but in the end, she couldn’t resist. She leaned over and secretly kissed her forehead lightly.
She hadn’t expected herself to become so pure. It was just a stolen kiss on the forehead, but her heart was so full.
She was as happy as she was in their previous life when she made Mo Yingxue so worked up in the bedroom that she heard her call out her name.
Yue Lei looked at the clock in the living room. It was getting late.
So she turned to go back to the bedroom. But she didn’t know if she had been squatting by the sofa for too long, but her legs were numb.
Yue Lei stumbled a few times but managed to catch herself and not fall on her wife.
She knelt on one knee on the sofa, her upper body propped against the back of the sofa, and she was suspended over Mo Yingxue.
Yue Lei watched as the metal chain on her clothes slid across Mo Yingxue’s neck. The cold metal made her eyelashes flutter, and she was about to wake up.
Yue Lei held her breath and tried to get up, fighting against the numbness.
But suddenly, a force pulled her forward from her waist. She couldn’t hold on anymore and fell.
The distance between them instantly became zero. Even with the blanket between them, Yue Lei could feel the warmth of her wife’s body.
She quickly scrambled away and, like a villain, cried out in a flushed face, “Xiao Xue, what did you pull me for? I didn’t fall on you, did I?”
Mo Yingxue had just woken up, and her face had a dazed kind of cuteness.
She didn’t say a word, just stared at her with her dark eyes, her expression unchanged, but the blank look in her eyes brought a great sense of deterrence to Yue Lei.
Yue Lei really didn’t know when she had woken up.
Thinking about everything she had done, her heart instantly pounded like a drum.
After staring at her for a while, Mo Yingxue finally moved.
She grabbed Yue Lei’s collar and pulled her closer.
Yue Lei’s muscles tensed, thinking she was going to do something.
But she just leaned in and sniffed her fair neck and then stuck out her tongue.
She frowned and said the first words of the night: “You stink.”
This made Yue Lei so embarrassed she could die.
They had eaten Chongqing hot pot. Although Fang Dan couldn’t handle spicy food and They ordered a mandarin duck hot pot (a hot pot with two sections), the smell was still very strong.
The hot pot base with beef tallow, chili, and Sichuan peppercorns was like the most ferocious and domineering perfume. The smell was intense and overwhelming.
“You ate hot pot?” Mo Yingxue asked her.
Yue Lei had retreated as soon as she said she stank and was now sitting as far away as possible, scrambling to get there.
She was afraid that her smell would contaminate her wife’s nose.
Hearing the question, she nodded repeatedly.
But her wife didn’t seem to care that much.
She sat up straight, pulled the blanket up, and asked softly, “With who?”
“Fang Dan!” Yue Lei blurted out.
Remembering that Mo Yingxue didn’t know Fang Dan, she explained that the two of them had met at a youth hostel.
To Yue Lei’s relief, Mo Yingxue smiled faintly: “Oh, it’s good that you had someone to help you. When the photos are ready, remember to show them to me too.”
Yue Lei relaxed a little: “I took two sets. One is the one I’m wearing now, which a fan commissioned. The other one is for a character that Fang Dan likes. I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but it’s called Yuu-chan.”
Realizing that her wife didn’t seem to be angry, Yue Lei’s mood immediately became cheerful again. She took out her phone to show Mo Yingxue the selfies she had taken of the two looks.
Mo Yingxue took her phone and kept looking up and comparing her to Yue Lei.
She seemed to genuinely not believe that the person in the photos was all her.
Yue Lei had no choice but to cooperate with the photos she was swiping and make the corresponding expressions and movements.
For some reason, making a cat paw motion with a fist and doing a wink in front of Mo Yingxue was a million times more embarrassing than doing it in public during the day.
Yue Lei felt like she was going to lose face.
The only consolation was that Mo Yingxue’s smile indeed grew wider.
She bent her eyes: “I didn’t expect my sister to be able to play a soft and cute little idol. That’s really interesting.”
Yue Lei saw her finger continue to swipe back, and an alarm bell suddenly went off in her head.
Her wife’s sleeping face was too cute and well-behaved just now. She had impulsively taken several photos!
“Haha, it’s all thanks to Fang Dan’s guidance. She’s a professional female cosplayer and photographer. She has more fans than I do.”
Yue Lei was trying to distract her while praying that Mo Yingxue wouldn’t swipe any further.
However, just like how God hadn’t heard her plea for Mo Yingxue not to wake up, he also didn’t hear this one.
She saw Mo Yingxue’s expression change. She frowned and swiped forward several times, also seeing her sleeping photos from different angles.
“Yue Lei, you took a picture of me!”
Mo Yingxue stared at her, her tone firm, and she called her by her full name.
Yue Lei felt like she was going to lose face completely. She could have just covered her with a blanket and left, but why did she have to be so clumsy?
She tried to argue with all her might: “I must have accidentally touched it when I was holding my phone. I’m not a pervert. I didn’t mean to take a picture of you.”
“Is that so?” Mo Yingxue glared at her again.
She opened the photo details and looked at the time.
Mo Yingxue’s expression changed again and again, and finally settled on one of shame and unease.
She threw the phone to the side and wrapped herself tighter in the blanket, her onyx-like eyes glaring at Yue Lei.
They were full of accusation and mistrust: “But you came back twenty minutes ago. Why did you squat by my sofa the whole time and not leave? And you were so close to me. Were you trying to take advantage of me?”
Yue Lei didn’t expect her to have this move.
In the face of hard evidence, no excuse would work.
She shrank her neck, her hands trembling with guilt, and she rambled like her brain had left her: “I… I just wanted to look at you! Absolutely, absolutely no other reason!”
