Pretending to Be a Submissive O: My Fiancee Is a Little Pup - Chapter 8
The words were thick with suggestive undertones, enough to make anyone’s face flush with embarrassment.
Yu Shi’s gaze swept past Ji Yaran to see a bleary-eyed Song Qingxue standing a few paces away. Her loose pajamas hung off her slender frame, barely covering the tops of her thighs. Her shapely, fair legs were exposed to the air, looking like a natural masterpiece of temptation, provocative to the extreme.
Yu Shi’s temper flared instantly.
What sleeping? What underwear?
It had only been a few days, and they had already progressed to this level?
Even she had never messed around with Ji Yaran’s underwear!
“Ji Yaran, don’t take this too far!” Yu Shi pointed at Song Qingxue behind her, gritting her teeth. “We haven’t seen each other for a few days, and you’re already keeping a vixen at home?”
Yu Shi paid the rent for this apartment and bought all the clothes. Who gave Ji Yaran permission to let someone else use them?
Yu Shi was in a fit of rage and her tone was incredibly harsh, which visibly startled Song Qingxue.
“Sister, what’s happening,” Song Qingxue stepped forward, her fingers instinctively curling around Ji Yaran’s arm. She lightly bit her moist lip, her charming fox-like eyes filling with innocent, crystalline tears. She looked so utterly pitiful that even an Alpha with the fiercest temper would find it hard to scold her.
It had to be said that as an Omega, Song Qingxue was soft and alluring to her very bones. Not just a hot-blooded Alpha like Yu Shi, but even a self-proclaimed “frigid” Beta like Ji Yaran found herself staring.
“I, I’m not a vixen,” Song Qingxue seemed intimidated by Yu Shi’s gaze and hid behind Ji Yaran. Her fingers gripped Ji Yaran’s clothes tightly and her shoulders trembled slightly, yet she forced herself to stay calm. “I am Sister’s Omega, my feelings for her are sincere.”
Her tone was filled with grievance, as if Yu Shi were the homewrecker interfering in someone else’s romance.
Hearing this, a cold sneer appeared on Yu Shi’s face. “The pajamas you’re wearing were bought by me for her. Even knowing that, you still believe her feelings for you are sincere?”
In the few minutes she had been with Ji Yaran, she hadn’t detected even a trace of Alpha pheromones. Whether Alpha or Omega, the pheromone fluctuations during the early stages of differentiation are intense and impossible to hide completely. If she actually believed Ji Yaran had differentiated into an Alpha, she would be a fool.
Even if Ji Yaran really did have something going on with this Omega, Yu Shi wouldn’t let her go so easily. After all, in this world, no one looked more like Liu Jiayan than Ji Yaran.
The resemblance wasn’t just physical, it was in the subtle expressions and mannerisms that were the hardest to mimic.
Having been in the industry for years, Yu Shi had met many people, including Omegas who were more obedient, softer, and more adventurous than Ji Yaran. But in the end, they always left her bored and quickly drained of interest.
Whenever she recalled how wonderful Liu Jiayan was, those people faded like cheap artistic forgeries.
Liu Jiayan was the most noble and pure Omega she had ever seen, like a sacred celestial being who had wandered into the mortal realm, someone people didn’t dare to defile.
And among all those trying to win her favor, only Ji Yaran could mimic Liu Jiayan with seventy to eighty percent accuracy. This was why she was exceptionally indulgent toward a mere Beta like Ji Yaran and continuously provided her with acting resources.
She had even thought that if she could never have Liu Jiayan, then molding Ji Yaran into another Liu Jiayan who belonged only to her wouldn’t be such a bad alternative.
And now, the canary she had invested so much emotion and energy into raising wanted to break the cage and fly away with someone else. How could she tolerate that?
She didn’t deign to argue with an Omega and spoke clearly to Ji Yaran. “Yaran, break up with this Omega, and I can overlook what happened before. If you’re afraid she’ll harass you, I can help you take care of it.”
There was a faint threat in those words, though it was directed at Song Qingxue rather than Ji Yaran.
Ji Yaran, naturally, was unwilling.
On the surface, it sounded attractive. Yu Shi was willing to compromise, and she could even seize this opportunity to get better film and television resources from her. But that was just the bargaining chip Yu Shi was using.
And her only chip in return was her body.
There are no benefits in this world without a price. She knew exactly what kind of person Yu Shi was. Right now, she still had utility value. Once Yu Shi obtained Liu Jiayan, she would be discarded like trash and become worthless. By then, with both her life and career under Yu Shi’s thumb, would she ever have a chance to stand on her own again?
“Director Yu, I thought my attitude was already very clear.”
“Ji Yaran, what exactly do you want?” Yu Shi’s patience was limited, she had never been slighted like this by a woman in her life. “What else do you want? Money? Something else? Just say the word and…”
“It’s not Sister’s fault,” Song Qingxue bit her lip before Ji Yaran could speak. “Please stop making things difficult for Sister, it’s all my fault.”
Yu Shi knit her brows tightly, her heart filling with irritability at the sound of Song Qingxue’s voice.
Her situation with Ji Yaran was headache-inducing enough, yet there was always this “green tea” Omega standing between them and muddying the waters.
“I’ll just give the pajamas back to you,” Song Qingxue bit her lip, her trembling fingers lifting the hem of her pajamas, revealing the snow-white skin of her upper thighs. “I’ll take them off for you right now, alright?”
That single sentence caused the expressions of both people present to shift drastically.
“Qingxue!”
“You…”
Yu Shi’s eyes widened.
She never expected this Omega to be so shameless as to prepare to strip in broad daylight!
As a famous director, Yu Shi had plenty of money. She didn’t care about a pair of pajamas or even Ji Yaran’s rent.
She was simply furious that Ji Yaran was acting as her secret lover while using her money to support someone else.
If she actually allowed Song Qingxue to strip just to get her money’s worth, who knew if the two of them would turn around and frame her for insulting an Omega?
“Ji Yaran, you’re really something,” Yu Shi pointed resentfully at Song Qingxue. “Just wait until this Omega isn’t around, see how I deal with you!”
She threw out her final threat, turned, got into her car, and floored the accelerator to leave the neighborhood.
Seeing Yu Shi leave, Ji Yaran finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed Yu Shi was far more difficult to deal with than she had imagined.
She needed to pay back the money she owed Yu Shi as soon as possible.
Feeling a slight tug on her arm, she turned her head to see Song Qingxue still leaning against her, looking tense. She couldn’t help but sigh.
“Actually, you didn’t have to do that just now.”
“But Sister, I don’t want you to be treated unfairly.” Song Qingxue looked up, her eyes still watery.
Ji Yaran glanced at the hem of the pajamas she was still gripping and warned her seriously, “Don’t be so impulsive next time. At the very least, don’t just lift your clothes in front of others, understand?”
Song Qingxue tilted her head up like a spoiled child and gave her a sweet smile. “I understand. If Sister doesn’t like it, I won’t do it.”
Ji Yaran tapped her on the forehead. “You little hooligan, I really don’t know who you learned that from.”
“I’m only a hooligan for Sister,” Song Qingxue said.
“Director Yu likely won’t let this go easily. Once I’ve paid back the rent, let’s find another place to live,” Ji Yaran decided, looking in the direction Yu Shi’s car had disappeared.
“I’ll do whatever Sister says.”
Whether she was triggered by Song Qingxue or simply didn’t want to coddle Ji Yaran, Yu Shi didn’t initiate contact for the next week. Ji Yaran, on the other hand, transferred the money in several installments, finally paying back the rent Yu Shi had advanced.
Fortunately, she hadn’t rented the apartment for long and the lease was up in two months, so she didn’t lose too much.
While Ji Yaran was busy scrounging for money, Song Qingxue wasn’t idle either. Hearing that Ji Yaran wanted to move, she contacted some friends to help find a few safe neighborhoods with good environments in the city center. Eventually, they settled on a house with a high cost-performance ratio.
“Sister, although Yipin Jiayuan is an old neighborhood, the security is good, transportation is convenient, and the rent is a bit lower than here. The only downside is that there’s no elevator,” Song Qingxue said to Ji Yaran while sitting on the sofa with a glass of milk, swinging her legs as she messaged her friends.
“If the floor isn’t too high, an elevator doesn’t really matter.”
“Then Sister, do you want to go take a look?”
“No need, the photos you sent look good. Let’s go with this one.”
Ji Yaran didn’t have high demands for her living situation, as long as it was habitable. Currently, she didn’t have much money, so saving on rent was for the best.
“Then Sister, I’ll tell the landlord. We can move together in a few days.”
Before she could finish, a cheerful ringtone suddenly filled the living room.
Ji Yaran signaled Song Qingxue, who immediately fell silent to keep the room quiet.
Ji Yaran answered the phone and was momentarily stunned when she heard the caller.
“Director Zhao? Yes, this is Ji Yaran.”
Hearing that name, Song Qingxue’s hand holding the glass paused. She raised her eyes to look at Ji Yaran’s back as she stood by the window, her pure black eyes shaded by the sunlight.
“I understand. I’ll study the script carefully.”
After she hung up, Song Qingxue asked with a smile, “Sister, was that the production crew?”
Ji Yaran gripped her phone and said truthfully, “Yeah, Director Zhao just called. He said I passed the audition and filming starts at the beginning of next month.”
Speaking of which, she had Song Qingxue to thank for this. If Song Qingxue hadn’t provided her with this audition opportunity, who knew when she would have landed her next role.
“That’s wonderful, Sister,” Song Qingxue smiled brilliantly and set down her milk glass. “Congratulations, I knew you could do it.”
Ji Yaran put away her phone. “Do you want to come with me? It should be fine to bring an extra person.”
Over the past few days, out of concern that Yu Shi would cause trouble, Song Qingxue had been practically inseparable from her, acting as if she were seriously fulfilling her duties. Ji Yaran didn’t have a personal assistant, so bringing Song Qingxue to the opening ceremony wouldn’t cause any issues.
On the other hand, Song Qingxue’s heat had just ended and her pheromones were unstable, so Ji Yaran couldn’t help but worry about her.
To her surprise, Song Qingxue shook her head. “Sister, I’m afraid I won’t be available in a couple of days.”
Ji Yaran was surprised. “Why? Do you have something to do?”
“A friend put me in touch with several management agencies. I might have to go for interviews.”
It was for work, then.
Compared to accompanying Ji Yaran to an opening ceremony, Song Qingxue’s interviews were obviously more important.
So Ji Yaran nodded. “Then prepare well.”
“Don’t worry, Sister, I won’t let you down,” Song Qingxue said. “Although I can’t accompany you to the ceremony, my friend can give you a lift. You can catch a ride with her then.”
Ji Yaran was taken aback, she hadn’t expected Song Qingxue to consider so much for her. She quickly declined, “There’s no need for that much trouble, I’ll just take a taxi.”
It was just an opening ceremony, having Song Qingxue’s friend pick her up felt like making a mountain out of a molehill.
Song Qingxue explained gently, “It’s fine, Sister. My friend is heading that way anyway, so don’t refuse.”
Since Song Qingxue put it that way, Ji Yaran stopped declining.
She nodded and thanked her sincerely. “Then… I’ll have to trouble you this time.”
Song Qingxue smiled and shook her head. “Sister, this is what I should be doing. You don’t need to be so polite with me.”
