Pretending to Be a Submissive O: My Fiancee Is a Little Pup - Chapter 15
What happened that night was known only to the few people involved, along with Ji Yaran and Song Qingxue. Over the next few days of filming, no one took the initiative to bring it up, acting as if nothing had ever happened.
Xue Yan had initially been worried that Tang Rui and Ji Yaran would expose the incident, but seeing that everything remained peaceful over the following days, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed Tang Rui’s capabilities were only so-so after all.
Come to think of it, she had no evidence. It was just her word against his. Even if she described it in great detail, who would believe her? Tang Rui was currently a popular first-tier starlet with a rising career, for the sake of her own reputation, she wouldn’t possibly let this story out.
Once he realized this, Xue Yan quickly pushed the unpleasantness to the back of his mind. As time passed, it felt as though the event had never occurred.
If he couldn’t get Tang Rui, he could just find someone else. With his fame in the industry, there were plenty of people willing to play “thrilling” games with him.
After wrapping up work one day, the sky was already dark. Xue Yan made plans with an acquaintance to relax at a nearby massage parlor.
Just as he left the set and prepared to make a call, he heard a faint sound of sobbing coming from the stairwell.
The air was thick with a rich, milky fragrance that no Alpha could fail to recognize, the scent of Omega pheromones.
Xue Yan froze, hanging up the call before it connected. Following the strengthening scent, he found a triangular nook under the stairs and saw the faint reflection of a phone screen.
A thin, weak woman sat on the floor, hugging her legs. Her shoulders trembled occasionally, she was clearly crying.
Why was there an Omega sitting here crying?
The Omega’s pheromones were abnormally intense, causing Xue Yan’s body to react. His Alpha instincts were unconsciously triggered, stimulating his senses and making his brain gradually grow excited.
Looking at her, she had such delicate skin. While she wasn’t as mature and sexy as Tang Rui, her figure was quite nice!
Hiding here alone during a heat cycle, could it be she didn’t have her own Alpha yet?
It seemed he had struck gold today.
He slowly approached the Omega, his eyes turning darker as they blended into the night.
In the silent space, the rustling sound of shoes rubbing against the floor sounded eerily creepy.
The Omega seemed to notice the movement, her trembling shoulders suddenly went still.
“Little sister, why are you sitting here all alone?” Xue Yan smoothed his hair and grinned. “Do you need big brother’s help?”
The moment he leaned down, the Omega in the corner looked up.
A pair of eyes, more dangerous and cold than the fangs of a predator, stared back at him with a chilling, ruthless intensity.
Ji Yaran had just come downstairs when she heard a timid scream.
Just three minutes ago, she had received a message from Song Qingxue. The turn of events was completely different from their original plan!
Originally, they had discovered that Xue Yan enjoyed visiting a nearby massage parlor every once in a while, so Song Qingxue suggested gathering evidence of this. Since Ji Yaran and Tang Rui were celebrities and too conspicuous, Song Qingxue took charge of the surveillance. Who would have thought something would go wrong halfway through?
“Qingxue!”
Ji Yaran ignored everything else and rushed forward to pull the person away. To her surprise, Xue Yan offered no resistance at all, he was pushed to the ground as if he were paralyzed by terror.
“Ahhh… you” Xue Yan kept shrinking back, looking at Song Qingxue as if she were a monster he couldn’t get away from fast enough.
“Qingxue, are you okay?” Ji Yaran helped Song Qingxue up. Before she could even stand, Song Qingxue reached out and hugged her waist tightly, burying her face in Ji Yaran’s chest, her body shaking violently.
“Sister… it’s him…”
Even though Ji Yaran couldn’t smell Omega pheromones, she could easily guess what happened.
She held Song Qingxue tightly and whispered comforts. “Tang Rui has already called the police, don’t be afraid…”
In less than five minutes, the police arrived. The lead officer pulled out his badge. “Who called the police just now?”
“I did,” Tang Rui stepped forward, her tone calm. “My colleague and I noticed a leak of Omega pheromones and came to check. We found…”
She paused, turned to look at Xue Yan, and pointed a finger at him, saying coldly, “He was intentionally inducing an Omega into heat.”
Inducing an Omega into heat was a severe crime. At best, one would be blacklisted with their career ruined, at worst, it was a threat to social security and required prison time.
Hearing this, Xue Yan’s face turned deathly pale. “I, I didn’t…”
“Whether you did or not, we will investigate thoroughly,” the officer said with a cold laugh as he brought out handcuffs and shackled his wrists. “Come to the station for an exam.”
He then instructed Tang Rui and the others, “The rest of you, come give a statement as well.”
By the time Ji Yaran and the group finished their statements at the police station, it was already one in the morning.
It was hard to find a taxi at night, so she and Song Qingxue hitched a ride back in Tang Rui’s private car.
Tang Rui’s assistant, a Beta, was driving. Tang Rui sat in the passenger seat and remained silent the whole way. Only Song Qingxue was sobbing in the back seat, making Ji Yaran feel extremely guilty.
“Stop crying, it’s my fault for not arriving sooner.” Ji Yaran took out a tissue to wipe her tears, feeling as if her heart was breaking from Song Qingxue’s crying.
If she had known this would happen, she would never have agreed to let Song Qingxue follow Xue Yan.
“I’m not blaming you, Sister…” Song Qingxue choked out. “I just feel a bit… unwell.”
“Are your pheromones unstable?” Ji Yaran was anxious. In this moment, she only hated that she wasn’t an Alpha and couldn’t comfort an Omega with fluctuating pheromones. She didn’t notice Tang Rui’s dark, complex expression in the rearview mirror.
Before Song Qingxue could answer, Tang Rui spoke first. “This whole thing started because of me. I’m the one who should say sorry.”
Song Qingxue lowered her eyelashes, hiding the expression in her eyes. “Don’t blame Sister Tang, I’m the one who caused trouble for everyone.”
Ji Yaran comforted her, “Alright, don’t blame yourself either. You did this to help Teacher Tang, I’m sure she doesn’t blame you.”
Song Qingxue finally nodded. “Mhm, thank you, Sister, and thank you, Sister Tang.”
Upon arriving at the hotel, Tang Rui’s assistant went to park the car. Tang Rui and Ji Yaran took the elevator together. After reaching the third floor, Tang Rui suddenly said, “Yaran, I’m feeling a bit inconvenienced today. Can you accompany me to the restroom for a moment?”
Though she spoke vaguely, they were both women, there was no need to be explicit to understand what she meant.
Song Qingxue, who was wiping her tears, gradually slowed her pace.
Ji Yaran looked at Tang Rui. “You today…?”
Tang Rui nodded, but her gaze moved past her to lock eyes with Song Qingxue. Her look was neither humble nor arrogant.
Without another word, she turned and entered the restroom.
Ji Yaran turned to Song Qingxue. “Will you be alright? I’ll go help Tang Rui. If you’re not feeling well, take my room card and go back first to lie down for a bit.”
Song Qingxue pursed her lips. “Then Sister, you have to come back quickly.”
Ji Yaran smiled. “I’ll be quick.”
After Song Qingxue left, Ji Yaran entered the restroom area, only to find that Tang Rui hadn’t gone inside but was waiting for her at the entrance.
“Teacher Tang?”
Tang Rui walked toward her with her long legs, took a business card from her bag, and handed it over. Her red lips parted slightly. “Regardless, I should thank you for what happened. This is my boss’s business card. I believe it will be helpful to you.”
“This is…” Ji Yaran took it and saw it read “All-Stars Media, Su Tan,” followed by a mobile number on the second line.
All-Stars Media was the studio founded by the Best Actress Su Tan after she became famous. Word was they had excellent resources and had made many artists successful.
“My boss is already aware of what happened today. I don’t like owing people favors. You helped me, so I’m recommending you to my boss. I can’t guarantee she’ll sign you, but at least it’s an opportunity.”
Tang Rui had clearly heard Song Qingxue mention Ji Yaran’s situation the other day, so she thought of recommending her to her own boss.
Even though she didn’t have the final say, at least her boss was interested in Ji Yaran and was willing to meet her. Whether it would succeed depended on Ji Yaran’s own talent.
This was an opportunity so many people in the industry would die for, yet it had luckily fallen into Ji Yaran’s lap.
To decline would be to show a complete lack of sense.
Ji Yaran tucked the card away and looked at her. “Thank you.”
“It’s the reward you deserve,” Tang Rui said plainly. “I know you have a talent for acting, I hope you don’t waste this chance.”
An abrupt ringtone echoed in the corridor. Ji Yaran took out her phone and saw that Song Qingxue, realizing she hadn’t followed yet, had called her directly.
Tang Rui clearly noticed the name on the screen as well. Her brows furrowed slightly, and her gaze became somewhat complicated.
Ji Yaran made an “apology” gesture and answered the call.
Song Qingxue’s voice, sounding a bit aggrieved, came through the phone. “Sister, aren’t you done yet? I feel a little sick…”
“Something just came up, I’m coming right now.”
After hanging up, Ji Yaran said to Tang Rui, “Sorry, Teacher Tang, Qingxue isn’t doing well, I have to go back and take care of her.”
“Ji Yaran.” Tang Rui suddenly called out to her.
“What is it?” Ji Yaran stopped and turned around in confusion. She saw Tang Rui standing in the shadows, a few stray beams of light making her cold, beautiful face look blurry, making it impossible to see her expression.
“That Song Qingxue… you had better be careful of her.” Tang Rui’s voice was like a hard stone thrown forcefully into a lake, silently stirring up a spray of water.
