Perfect Possession - Episode 70
Watching Chairman Han struggle to contain his anger, Jaehoon resolved not to back down an inch. The condition he would present wasn’t just about Woojin shares.
“You’re saying if I give up some of Woojin’s shares, you’ll get Tae-yul’s shares back?”
“You need to give up at least half. Otherwise, I won’t have any justification to make a deal with Chairman Woo.”
“Is that why you met with Chairman Woo?!”
“Do you want me to rise again?”
Jaehoon said firmly as Chairman Han roared.
“You son of a bitch. Fine. Is that all you want?”
“Of course not.”
Jaehoon smiled lightly.
“What else is there?”
Chairman Han slowly lowered his hand, which he had raised to slam on the table, and glared at Jaehoon.
“Acknowledge my family, and don’t claim any rights to Tae-yul. Naturally, your treatment of Seo-yeon has to change as well. And…”
Jaehoon looked straight into Chairman Han’s eyes to deliver the final, nuclear-level condition.
“Delegate all management rights of Do-young to me.”
Chairman Han, who had been frozen with wide eyes, suddenly burst into laughter that echoed through the hall.
“Hahaha. Hahahaha!”
He laughed like a madman, then glared at Jaehoon as if he wanted to kill him.
“Are you telling me to step down from my position as chairman?”
“If you accept my conditions, you will remain as honorary chairman. You will still be the chairman of Do-young, Father. But you cannot interfere with anything related to management. If you don’t accept even one of these conditions, I won’t return to Do-young.”
“You crazy bastard! You’re trying to make me a living corpse. If I accept those ridiculous conditions, what’s left for me?”
“Do-young.”
“What, what? Then what if I don’t accept it?”
“Do-young will end with your generation, Father. I plan to break it down piece by piece and make it all mine. Then I’ll start again with a new Do-young. Do you think I can’t do it?”
Jaehoon’s voice was calm throughout.
“Do-young’s stock fluctuated just because I quit. What will happen if I start wielding a knife against Do-young in earnest? Between you and me, who has a better chance of winning?”
Jaehoon didn’t avert his gaze from Chairman Han, who was glaring and breathing heavily. He didn’t want to go this far either.
But he couldn’t allow him to exert influence on Tae-yul as he had done to him. And he realized that if he didn’t seize this opportunity, he wouldn’t be able to uproot Chairman Han’s capricious and dangerous management style.
He couldn’t pass on this kind of Do-young to Tae-yul. It was something he had to shoulder, and he intended to settle it here today.
“So, you’re turning a knife against your own father.”
“It’s nothing compared to what you did to your father, my grandfather. Did you think I wouldn’t know? The Korea Electronics shares that Grandfather left me right before he died. You sold them to J&D Group, didn’t you? Because of that, Korea Electronics, which I was trying to acquire, went to J&D.”
“Th, that was my mistake. I just…”
“Stop it! You should never be involved in business, Father.”
Jaehoon couldn’t listen to Chairman Han, who was calling such a huge mistake a mere slip-up.
“If you don’t accept, I’ll leave. And don’t look for me. I won’t tolerate you laying a hand on my people either.”
“You, you! How can you do this to your own father!”
Chairman Han kept shouting out of anxiety. Looking at Jaehoon, he felt that if he left like this, he really wouldn’t see him again.
Moreover, his words about dismantling and destroying Do-young didn’t seem like a lie. Whether to remain as the chairman of Do-young in name only, or to watch Do-young collapse as it was.
Even Chairman Han knew that he had no choice. But there was too much to give up, so he couldn’t make a decision easily.
“Giv, give me just one day.”
“Chairman Han!”
Jaehoon didn’t call him Father. It meant that if he didn’t accept these conditions, he would no longer have a father.
Chairman Han swallowed hard and glared at Jaehoon. He was his son, but he had never been so afraid as he was today. He didn’t take his eyes off Jaehoon and clenched his fists tightly.
No matter how much he thought about it, Do-young couldn’t do without Jaehoon. The board of directors was urging him to bring Jaehoon back, and investors and partner companies were saying that they wouldn’t proceed with business without Jaehoon.
There was no way to back down. If he let Jaehoon go like this, he would have to bear the burden of a collapsing Do-young. In that case, it would be better to remain as honorary chairman and receive some afterglow.
“D, do you have the contract?”
“Call Attorney Choi first.”
Attorney Choi was Chairman Han’s legal advisor. Jaehoon wanted a lawyer who wasn’t related to Do-young Group’s legal team, as this was a negotiation between him and Chairman Han.
Jaehoon watched Chairman Han make a call to Attorney Choi and took a deep breath.
Seo-yeon dimmed the lights in the room as much as possible and looked at Tae-yul. She smiled quietly at his sleeping face with his lips pouting. He had thrown a tantrum and fallen asleep while waiting for Jaehoon, and it was all over his face. It was so lovely that she couldn’t help but smile just by looking at him.
“Our Tae-yul is such a daddy’s boy. Sleep well.”
She kissed Tae-yul’s forehead and left the room. Seo-yeon didn’t go to the bedroom but headed to the study. Jaehoon hadn’t returned yet.
He had said he left five hours ago, so it was almost time for him to arrive. He hadn’t said a word about meeting Chairman Han. He had only said, “I’ll tell you when I get there.”
Seo-yeon couldn’t wait for him leisurely in the bedroom. She was unbearably curious about what conditions he had presented to Chairman Han and what had happened, so she thought it would be better to wait in the study.
She climbed onto the sofa in front of the study window, sat with her knees drawn up, and looked outside. It was a quiet place where all she could hear was the sound of the waves and the occasional barking of dogs.
The tranquility that had calmed her heart was making Seo-yeon anxious tonight. She wished she could hear the sound of a car soon.
“Jaehoon, you did well, right? You can go back to Do-young, right? Please come quickly.”
Seo-yeon whispered softly and stared intently out the window. About ten minutes passed like that, and finally, the car lights she had been waiting for brightened the surroundings, and she heard the sound of a car.
Seo-yeon jumped up and got off the sofa, but she didn’t go outside. Suddenly, her heart pounded, and she became nervous. She believed that Jaehoon must have done well since he had gone, but since the other party was Chairman Han, there was a corner of her heart that worried.
“No! It’s Jaehoon. If it didn’t work out, he wouldn’t have told me to wait.”
Seo-yeon watched Jaehoon shake hands with Hyun-shik and remained standing there. Even after he parted ways with Hyun-shik and entered the house, she didn’t leave the room but turned her body and looked at the study door.
After a while, she heard footsteps on the hallway, and then they stopped in front of the study. As soon as the door opened, Seo-yeon couldn’t wait any longer and ran to Jaehoon.
As Jaehoon parked the car inside the villa, he saw the light in the study was on. He could quickly tell that Seo-yeon was there. He also knew how eagerly she was waiting for him.
Even the short time it took to say goodbye to Hyun-shik, who had suffered from the long drive, was hard for Jaehoon to bear.
He wanted to call Seo-yeon and run to the study as soon as he entered the house, but he couldn’t because he was worried about waking Tae-yul.
As soon as he opened the study door, Jaehoon hugged Seo-yeon, who had run to him, so tightly that he couldn’t breathe. He grabbed her face and kissed her lips.
Without even having time to talk about meeting Chairman Han, the two of them sought each other out and shared a passionate kiss.
Jaehoon had been in a state of extreme tension for a long day, feeling a severe headache. The meeting with Chairman Han had been so nerve-wracking that he couldn’t relax.
He had taken painkillers for the unbearable headache, but they didn’t work.
But while kissing Seo-yeon, Jaehoon’s headache disappeared as if by magic. He grabbed Seo-yeon’s face and made her open her mouth wide. He immediately kissed her lower lip as if biting it and then pushed his tongue in deeply, groping roughly inside her mouth.
“Mmm… Jaehoon.”
“I missed you so much. My head was splitting while I was talking to Father.”
Jaehoon spoke intermittently without stopping the kiss.
“I feel like I’ll get better if you touch me. Father kept messing with my nerves.”
Seo-yeon caressed Jaehoon and wrapped her arms around his head. Her heart ached at his words that he was in pain.
“But after tasting your lips, my headache disappeared like a lie. You’re that kind of woman to me.”
She looked up at Jaehoon and smiled softly, then lightly bit his lips and kissed him.
“I wanted to be by your side. I made you handle it alone. I blamed myself, thinking, ‘I’m such a bad woman.’ I’m sorry. I know you hate it, but let me apologize just this once.”
“Will that make you feel better?”
Seo-yeon nodded silently.
“Just do it once. I’ll listen just this once.”
“I’m sorry. And I love you so much.”
Jaehoon stared intently at Seo-yeon and brought his face closer. He sucked on her lips, which had turned red from being sucked on deeply, a little harder, and then sucked on them again. The kiss, which had started slowly, was ignited again and became so intense that it felt like it would suck out his insides.
Seo-yeon, feeling a pleasure that tightened her lower abdomen in an instant, unbuttoned the jacket he was wearing.
