- Over The Top! He Keeps Making the Gold-Digging Alpha Cry
- Chapter 58 - Catching the Brightest Star
“Fiancé”—Lu Yanbai rose, took Xu Wanxing’s hand, and kissed it on his lips.
Xu Wanxing: Even more of a pervert.
Lu Yanbai: “Baby looks so beautiful. I am his fiancé.”
The staff members were stunned.
One female staff member clutched her mouth tightly, staring at the two of them, afraid she might scream if she let go.
It was two Omegas together—what a niche concept.
But they looked genuinely sweet.
There was an invisible magnetic field between Xu Wanxing and Lu Yanbai, radiating pink bubbles.
When the staff recovered, they stepped forward and offered their blessings.
Lu Yanbai smiled, holding Xu Wanxing’s hand. “Thank you! We will certainly be happy.”
Xu Wanxing tried on one wedding dress after another in the shop. Trying on gowns was physically demanding. By the end, Xu Wanxing was sitting breathlessly on a sofa, drinking the beverage Lu Yanbai handed him.
“Husband, can we stop trying them on? I’m exhausted.”
Lu Yanbai stroked his cheek. “Which one in here did Baby like the most?”
Xu Wanxing thought for a moment. “How about a suit? The wedding dresses are too tiring to wear.”
A suit, a suit—why should a grown man like him wear a wedding dress?
Lu Yanbai considered this but continued, “Choose one. You don’t have to wear it at the wedding.”
“If I’m not wearing it at the wedding, why should I choose a wedding dress?” Xu Wanxing asked, completely baffled.
Suddenly, Lu Yanbai leaned close to his ear and whispered conspiratorially, “Wear it for me at night. My own exclusive bride.”
His voice was low and husky with an unspeakable ambiguity.
It was seductive and captivating.
Xu Wanxing: …Now I want to wear it even less. What is going on?
Xu Wanxing randomly picked one.
The staff measured his size and informed them that the dress would be ready in about a week.
Xu Wanxing walked out of the bridal shop, feeling like the hand around his waist was subtly feeling him up.
That hand kept darting around his waist, making him feel ticklish.
Xu Wanxing instinctively pressed down on the hand, wanting it to behave. When he turned his head, he found Lu Yanbai suddenly leaning in close.
Their lips met precisely for a fleeting moment, the soft, instantaneous feeling confusing Xu Wanxing.
He pursed his lips and said, “Don’t move around. It’s really ticklish.”
The next second, a hand lifted his chin, and soft lips and teeth covered his own.
How wonderful the feeling of lips meeting was.
Especially when it was with the lover he deeply cherished.
Lu Yanbai couldn’t restrain the excitement in his heart, locking Xu Wanxing fiercely in his embrace and ravishing him.
After the kiss, Xu Wanxing desperately tried to regulate his ragged breathing.
The fabric he had been grasping in his hand was now covered in wrinkles, mirroring the tangled mess in his own heart.
Xu Wanxing wiped his moist, red lips, his eyes full of romantic warmth, and glared at Lu Yanbai. “What are you doing? Kissing me randomly right on the street.”
Lu Yanbai smiled. “I saw Baby had forgotten something, and I couldn’t help but want to remind him.”
“What thing?”
Lu Yanbai said, “Don’t tempt me outside, Baby. I won’t be able to control myself.”
Xu Wanxing: …
His native language was speechless.
“Alright, when I was holding Baby’s coat just now, I accidentally felt something.” Lu Yanbai gestured meaningfully toward Xu Wanxing’s pocket.
Something?
Could it be the ring?!
Xu Wanxing suddenly felt a bit bashful, his earlobes turning pink. He took the box out of his pocket. “Here you go.”
Lu Yanbai raised an eyebrow. “Is Baby not going to put it on me?”
Xu Wanxing pursed his lips, his cheeks slightly red, a touch of shyness in his eyes. He slipped the ring onto Lu Yanbai’s middle finger and immediately pulled his hand away.
His voice was as quiet as a mosquito. “There, let’s go.”
Lu Yanbai chuckled softly beside him, the sound deep and husky. Xu Wanxing’s face flushed even deeper, a hint of embarrassed irritation welling up inside him.
“Stop laughing. It’s not funny at all.”
Lu Yanbai finally managed to stop laughing, and the tenderness in his gaze toward Xu Wanxing was astonishing.
His heart felt like it was soaking in honey, so sweet it was about to melt.
The sky outside had grown dark. The streetlights and store lights were still dazzling, and the moon was casting its light, but the stars were nowhere to be seen.
The city lights were too bright, obscuring the stars’ brilliance.
But Lu Yanbai knew he had already seen the brightest star in the world.
It was right in front of him.
Shining brightly.
Looking at Xu Wanxing’s pale, delicate skin under the streetlights, Lu Yanbai seemed to smell a intoxicating fragrance, like the sweet, fragrant scent when his teeth sank into the back of Xu Wanxing’s neck.
It was an alluring scent he could never let go of.
A rapid heartbeat echoed in his ears. Lu Yanbai suddenly realized it was his own heart.
A scorching heat constantly radiated from the small patch of skin covered by the ring on his middle finger, making it feel as if his heart were tightly locked, leaving him breathless.
Sensing that the person beside him was acting strangely, Xu Wanxing tugged at the hand wearing the ring.
“Husband, why are you spacing out?”
Lu Yanbai was startled awake. He took his star’s hand, his eyes smiling gently. “It’s nothing, I just really love Baby’s ring. Let me take you back.”
Xu Wanxing smiled happily.
This one cost over 200,000 Yuan. Lu Yanbai had good taste.
However, the one Lu Yanbai gave him was probably even more expensive. That diamond ring, the size of a pigeon’s egg, looked incredibly valuable.
Xu Wanxing quietly glanced at his own finger, his eyes instantly dazzled by the brilliant diamond.
So big, so bright!
“Did we forget the roses?” Xu Wanxing suddenly remembered the bouquet left behind in the restaurant.
Lu Yanbai thought for a moment. “It’s in the car. I didn’t forget.”
“Husband, your memory is great,” Xu Wanxing praised.
When they arrived at school, Xu Wanxing didn’t take the bouquet of roses, thinking it was too heavy. He just leaned over and gave Lu Yanbai a light kiss.
“Goodnight kiss, my fiancé.” He said, then raised his hand to show Lu Yanbai the ring.
Lu Yanbai’s heart was burning hot, but unlike his usual self, he didn’t pull Xu Wanxing back for a deeper kiss. Instead, he watched his retreating back, his expression unbelievably gentle.
He could have as many kisses as he wanted after the marriage. He didn’t need to rush this one time.
Walking down the dark road, Xu Wanxing felt a chill on his back. He rubbed the goosebumps on his arms and quickened his pace.
Back in the dorm, Xu Wanxing found Pei Yu still sitting in his seat, but this time his computer was off, the screen black.
Pei Yu looked listless, his eyes vacant as he stared at his phone screen. As Xu Wanxing walked past, he quickly peeked.
He was startled.
Pei Yu’s phone screen was showing his contact information.
Xu Wanxing was bewildered. Pei Yu had said he didn’t like him, then deleted him, so why was he staring at his contact now?
Returning to his seat, Xu Wanxing quietly opened his phone. Pei Yu’s profile picture hadn’t changed; it was still the strawberry head.
Could it be that he really fell in love with “Wanxing”?
Time to test him.
Xu Wanxing was suspicious. Since Pei Yu kept looking at his contact information, he would try adding him again.
A moment later, a friend request popped up on Pei Yu’s phone.
Xu Wanxing casually looked around from his seat.
Suddenly, Pei Yu stood up with a large movement, backing away a few steps. His chair fell backward with a loud crash due to his abrupt motion.
