- Over The Top! He Keeps Making the Gold-Digging Alpha Cry
- Chapter 38 - Did You Undergo a Sex Change?
Zhou Wei knew Ji Rongyu was the dream lover of countless Omegas. Although Xu Wanxing was an Alpha, there were also many cases of Alphas confessing to Ji Rongyu.
He wasn’t as tall as Ji Rongyu, not as handsome, and his eyes weren’t as big. How could he possibly compete with Ji Rongyu for Xu Wanxing’s affection?
Cheng Yang patted his foolish dorm mate on the shoulder. Xu Wanxing was clearly a cut above the rest; having Zhou Wei’s adolescent heart broken early was probably for the best.
Xu Wanxing went to the library to study, looking at the advanced mathematics problems with intense dislike.
Why did something as difficult as advanced mathematics exist in this world?
Xu Wanxing stared at the copied problem, reading the textbook over and over, but still couldn’t figure out how to solve it.
“Can’t solve it?”
Xu Wanxing jumped in surprise. Why was there suddenly another person next to him, and why were they talking to him?
He looked to the side. It was Ji Rongyu.
Xu Wanxing wrote a note and passed it over. “This is a library. Keep your voice down. What are you doing here?”
“Coincidence.”
Ji Rongyu would never tell Xu Wanxing that he had deliberately watched Xu Wanxing head this way before following him.
Didn’t Xu Wanxing say he liked him? Ji Rongyu couldn’t see any sign of it.
Ji Rongyu wrote another line and passed it to Xu Wanxing. “If you can’t solve the problem, I can teach you.”
“You’re good at advanced math? I didn’t see you paying attention in class.”
“I’m a genius; I don’t need to listen.”
Xu Wanxing: Oh, wow. Ji Rongyu was truly an arrogant Versailles.
Watching Ji Rongyu pull up a chair and sit next to him, Xu Wanxing slid the problem over.
With just a glance, Ji Rongyu took a piece of scratch paper and quickly wrote out the solution, then pushed it back to Xu Wanxing.
Xu Wanxing: Impressive!
After looking at the scratch paper for a while, Xu Wanxing got stuck on a certain step.
Advanced mathematics had a strange power: even when he saw the answer, he didn’t understand why, completely unable to grasp the logic.
Xu Wanxing, fighting back tears, circled the part he was stuck on and pushed it back to Ji Rongyu.
“Why is this step correct?”
Ji Rongyu looked at it twice, then fell silent, suspiciously sizing up Xu Wanxing.
Xu Wanxing thought he saw a look of incomprehension in Ji Rongyu’s eyes. His ears subtly reddened. “Can you explain it to me? Campus Crush.”
Ji Rongyu lightly wrote a few words next to the spot: “L’Hôpital’s rule.”
The pain of the poor student is clearly misunderstood by the academic genius.
Xu Wanxing was completely stuck until Ji Rongyu patiently broke down the concept and fed him the knowledge, only then did he finally understand.
After grasping the problem, Xu Wanxing looked at Ji Rongyu’s eyes with clear admiration, bright and full of awe.
“You really are a genius, Campus Crush.”
“Don’t call me Campus Crush; use my name.”
“Okay, Campus Crush.”
Being watched with such an adoring gaze by the person next to him made Ji Rongyu feel wonderful inside, sweeping away all his previous irritation. He draped his arm over the back of Xu Wanxing’s chair, watching Xu Wanxing work on problems.
With one glance, Ji Rongyu was astonished. How could he not know such a simple problem earlier, yet now he was quickly solving problems that were even more difficult?
How strange.
Perhaps that simple problem was just Xu Wanxing’s way of testing him?
He just wanted to admire me, but he didn’t want to make it difficult for me by asking a problem I couldn’t solve.
Thinking this, Ji Rongyu believed this was the truth. No one could fail an easy problem and solve a hard one.
It seems he really likes me, going to all this trouble.
Unbeknownst to Ji Wanxing, Xu Wanxing frequently got stuck on simple problems like that.
Xu Wanxing: My brain just doesn’t work that way. Is it my fault if I can’t think of it right away?
Xu Wanxing was writing out the problem when he suddenly felt a scorching gaze fixed on him.
He looked sideways. It was Ji Rongyu.
Xu Wanxing tore off a piece of paper and wrote, “If you’re bored, you can go out and have fun. You don’t have to stay here and study with me.”
He pushed it toward Ji Rongyu. After a moment, Ji Rongyu pushed back, “I’ll be wherever I want to be.”
Xu Wanxing: “…” Speechless.
Fortunately, in his past life, he was an overworked office worker, so being supervised had become a habit. At most, he felt a little uncomfortable, but it wasn’t too bothersome.
Enduring the pressure of Ji Rongyu’s gaze, Xu Wanxing finished today’s study tasks.
Xu Wanxing packed his things and left the library, with Ji Rongyu following behind.
“Xu Wanxing, is there anything you want to say to me?”
Ji Rongyu hadn’t agreed to Xu Wanxing’s confession earlier because he was too surprised. This time, he was prepared and would savor any confession Xu Wanxing made.
He was ready to give Xu Wanxing an instant “Yes.”
Xu Wanxing stopped and looked back at Ji Rongyu twice, then spoke with some uncertainty. “Thank you?”
Was Ji Rongyu upset that he hadn’t thanked him?
Ji Rongyu’s face instantly darkened, his eyes full of incomprehension. What kind of hard-to-get game was he playing?
He had already brought up such a simple problem to ask for help, but he couldn’t see that it was time to confess to him?
Endearingly silly, or perhaps Xu Wanxing was deeply calculating to lead him on.
“I didn’t mean that. Think about it. I’m in a good mood right now. You can ask for any favor, and I’ll agree,” Ji Rongyu prompted.
He was already mentally prepared for Xu Wanxing to ask him to be his boyfriend.
Even though Xu Wanxing was an Alpha and he was an Alpha, Xu Wanxing was brave enough to defy the world and confess to him, so why couldn’t he agree?
Since Xu Wanxing was so courageous, he felt he should try dating an Alpha too.
Xu Wanxing hesitated. “Then, can I go back to the dorm early? I have a date.”
Xu Wanxing secretly prayed that Lu Yanbai wouldn’t arrive too soon. He hadn’t even returned to the dorm to change clothes or drop off his things. Lu Yanbai had said he wanted to see him wear the clothes he bought him today.
Just thinking about Lu Yanbai’s strange and unreasonable request made Xu Wanxing’s ears involuntarily turn red.
Ji Rongyu’s gaze fixed on Xu Wanxing’s ears. The little rascal, he’s blushing for me after all.
He skipped the confession and went straight to wanting to go on a date with me!
He has high hopes.
But he could reluctantly agree.
Consider it a perk for Xu Wanxing.
Ji Rongyu nodded. “Then hurry back.” He watched Xu Wanxing walk back to the dorm and waited for him downstairs.
Pei Yu happened to pass by and greeted Ji Rongyu.
Their parents knew each other, and they were in the same class in high school, making them good friends.
Ji Rongyu pointed up at the dorm building. “Pei Yu, you live here too? You never mentioned it.”
Pei Yu smiled. “It’s just a regular dorm building. Why would I mention it? Who are you waiting for here?”
“An Alpha. I’m about to go on a date with him,” Ji Rongyu said, dropping a bombshell.
Pei Yu’s eyes widened. He looked Ji Rongyu up and down, then asked haltingly, “Did you undergo a sex change?”
Ji Rongyu was stunned. The lofty flower instantly lost his cool. He laughed and swore, “Are you crazy? I’m a formidable Alpha. Why would I get a sex change?”
Pei Yu’s agile mind struggled to process this. Ji Rongyu was an Alpha, and the person he was waiting for was also an Alpha. Pei Yu’s eyes immediately viewed Ji Rongyu differently, and he crossed his arms over his chest.
