- Chapter 2 - Reported for Mob Fighting
Yun Su looked at the furnishings in the room, finding them rather novel.
Although he possessed the memories of the original body, he had not experienced these things himself, so he was filled with freshness and curiosity about everything in this brand-new world. However, the most important task right now was to resolve the drugs within his system. He had no intention of finding just anyone to satisfy his physiological needs.
Yun Su sat cross-legged on the bed. Soon, the heat caused by the drug’s effects was suppressed, which allowed him to let out a deep sigh of relief. Although his cultivation was gone, the strength of his soul was not something an ordinary Tribulation-stage cultivator could compare to. While the process of using his soul power to neutralize the drug was a bit troublesome, he was satisfied with the result.
“It is fortunate that this drug is merely a common aphrodisiac,” Yun Su whispered. He joined two fingers together and instinctively pushed up the gold-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose. Just as he stood up, he heard footsteps echoing from the corridor outside.
“It’s right up ahead.”
“Teach that brat a good lesson for me! I want him to know the consequences of going against me, Chen Hong. If he doesn’t leave his legs behind today, he isn’t walking out of this Ferry Bar!”
Chen Hong’s face was wrapped like a mummy’s, leaving only his eyes exposed. At this moment, supported by his lackeys, he was leading a large group of people toward Yun Su’s private room. Even without seeing his expression, Yun Su could hear the other man’s burning rage in his teeth-gnashing voice.
The corners of Yun Su’s mouth curled slightly. He sat back on the edge of the bed, crossed one leg over the other, and fixed his gaze on the doorway. The lenses of his glasses shimmered with a faint cold light under the indoor lamps, making the red mole at the corner of his left eye appear increasingly bewitching.
A few minutes later, the door to the room was shoved open with great force, striking the wall with a loud bang.
“That’s the brat! Do it, just make sure he stays alive.” Chen Hong stood at the doorway, sneering at Yun Su.
“Don’t worry, Young Master Chen, we’ll definitely keep him alive.” A dozen burly men cracked their knuckles and rushed toward Yun Su.
Yun Su sat there, neither dodging nor retreating. Although the physical condition of this body was less than one-ten-thousandth of his previous one, he was not in the least bit afraid of dealing with a few ordinary people.
Seeing one of the men’s fists about to strike his face, Yun Su raised his foot and kicked the man away. He performed a quick flip to dodge an attack, grabbed a thug’s arm, and gave it a slight twist, eliciting a shrill scream.
“Ah…”
Seeing this, the others immediately attacked his legs and arms. Yun Su backhanded one person, throwing him into the others, and performed a backflip, landing on a nearby table. He raised his hand to push up his glasses and gave a light click of his tongue, thinking to himself, “This magical artifact called ‘glasses’ is quite troublesome when fighting; I have to be careful not to let them fall.”
“And this body… after just a few moves, it’s already starting to pant. It’s too weak.”
“Brat, what are you muttering about over there!” Yun Su’s voice had been too soft for the bodyguards to hear clearly.
Because Chen Hong hadn’t closed the door when he entered, the commotion in the room had attracted many passersby in the hallway. By now, the room was surrounded by layers of onlookers.
Yun Su glanced at the people watching the show. If he recalled correctly, this world called fighting “mob violence,” and it seemed one could be locked up by the authorities for it. If someone reported this to the officials, it would be a bit troublesome.
Chen Hong was unaware of his thoughts. Seeing that so many men couldn’t beat one Yun Su, he burned with rage. “Damn it! You trash! What use are you if I keep you around?”
“If you don’t leave that bastard’s legs behind today, you can all get lost!”
The bodyguards groaning in pain on the floor, hearing Chen Hong’s words, ignored their own injuries and scrambled up to rush forward again. This time, however, Yun Su did not give them a chance.
Three minutes later…
All dozen of the bodyguards Chen Hong had brought were lying on the floor, unable to get up. The room was filled with their agonized wailing.
“Who is this kid? His fighting skills are incredible!”
“Never seen him before. Must be new! To dare make trouble at Brother Biao’s place… I think he has a death wish.”
“Brother Biao? Who is that? Is he very powerful?”
“You don’t even know Brother Biao? He’s the owner of this Ferry Bar. I heard this Wang Biao has connections in both the underworld and the legal world, and he has the support of the Wang family, one of the four great wealthy clans.”
“In all of Canglan City, no one dares to provoke Brother Biao except for members of the other major families. These two kids are practically begging for death.”
Yun Su looked at the young man who had spoken and frowned. “It seems I’ve invited some trouble.”
Yun Su pushed up his glasses with two fingers. Although he spoke of trouble, there was not a trace of panic on his face. The hair on his forehead was damp with sweat and stuck to his face; he was panting slightly, his complexion flushed.
Chen Hong had already been frightened out of his wits by the scene before him. He collapsed onto the floor, trembling uncontrollably, as if Yun Su were some kind of demon.
“This… how is this possible?”
“These are all retired mercenaries! How could they, how could they not even beat a Lu Yun?!”
Chen Hong’s voice grew fainter as he spoke, as if he had seen something truly terrifying.
Yun Su leaned down, staring straight into Chen Hong’s eyes. “Mercenaries?”
“Oh! I understand. So, they are roughly the equivalent of ‘assassins,’ I suppose? That is rather interesting.”
Chen Hong shook even harder. “W-what do you want to do?” He swallowed hard, trying to appear less cowardly. “Lu Yun, you’d better think this through. The Chen family is behind me. If you dare lay a hand on me, the Chen family will never let you go, nor your family.”
“Don’t forget your father is still lying in the hospital. One word from me, and no hospital in Canglan City will ever treat your father’s legs again.”
Yun Su paused for a split second, his eyes narrowing instantly, a cold sneer tugging at his lips.
“Very well. You have successfully provoked my wrath.”
“I despise being threatened more than anything else in this life, yet you insist on touching this nerve!”
Yun Su raised his hand, just about to reduce Chen Hong to ashes with a burst of flame, when he heard a stern voice from outside.
“Police! Nobody move!”
Four officers in duty uniforms walked out from behind the crowd. Seeing the disheveled people scattered throughout the room and the unharmed Yun Su standing in the center, their mouths twitched. The surrounding air fell into a terrifying silence.
“Who just called the police?”
A girl in the crowd tremblingly raised her hand, whispering, “I… I called the police.”
Yun Su, Chen Hong, and the four officers all turned to look at the girl. She was startled, shrinking her neck, her fingers gripping her phone turning pale.
“Ahem…” The older officer cleared his throat. “You did well. When you see people fighting like this, you should report it promptly.”
The girl offered a shy smile.
Officer Zhang glanced at the carnage inside the room, his eyes twitching. He turned to the other officers. “Take everyone here away.”
“Yes, sir.”
Soon, all the bodyguards were taken out. One officer walked up to Yun Su. “Move. You’re coming with us to the station.”
Yun Su: “…”
He had clearly used his spiritual sense to check; there wasn’t a single person missing from the surroundings. Why had the authorities arrived so quickly?
As he walked out of the room, Yun Su finally remembered that this world possessed a device called a “mobile phone,” which was similar to the Sound-Transmitting Talismans of his world.
Yun Su stared fixedly at a young man outside who was on a call, unable to stop his mouth from twitching. The young man felt a chill run down his spine under Yun Su’s intense gaze.
The girl on the other end of the phone asked, “What’s wrong?” because her boyfriend hadn’t spoken for a while.
The boy shook his body and quickly walked further away before saying to his girlfriend, “Nothing, I just ran into a psycho.”
As the boy’s voice faded, Yun Su retracted his gaze and followed the police into the patrol car.
It wasn’t until he was escorted out of the bar that Chen Hong reacted, immediately yelling in protest, “You dogs! Do you know who I am? How dare you arrest me?”
“My father is Chen Shaoyong! If you dare arrest me, believe it or not, I’ll make you regret this!”
The officers’ faces looked grim when they heard his father was Chen Shaoyong. One officer asked, “Zhang, is that Chen Shaoyong from Xinghui Technology?”
Officer Zhang sneered, “I don’t care who your father is. Engaging in mob violence is a violation of the law. Everyone gets taken to the station.”
“Yes, sir.”
Hearing this, Chen Hong became even more arrogant, spewing foul language the entire way. When he saw that they were indifferent to his threats, he tried to use his family’s influence to pressure them. It felt as if a fly were buzzing incessantly in one’s ear, which was incredibly annoying.
Yun Su dug into his ear and said, “Shut up. If you speak again, I will cut out your tongue.”
In an instant, the police car went silent!
The officer sitting in front twitched his lip. They had tried everything to get him to stop, yet this youth had silenced him with a single sentence. Some people were just asking to be disciplined.
