Older Brother - Chapter 11
When Bai You opened his eyes, the sky was just beginning to brighten with the first hints of dawn.
He stared at the ceiling a sight both strange and intimately familiar as fragments of the previous night’s events flickered through his mind. He almost could have convinced himself it was all a dream, if not for the exquisite black electronic shackle cinched around his ankle.
Fu Yu had placed this ring on him after bringing him back last night.
Right here by this bed, Fu Yu had knelt before him with a look of profound tenderness. He held Bai You’s ankle in one hand and fastened the device with the other. If one ignored the purpose of the shackle and the reality of their relationship, Fu Yu looked almost like a handsome, romantic groom placing a ring on his bride.
He had caressed Bai You’s ankle, letting out a soft, warm sigh. “It’s just as slender as I remembered. How could you possibly be an Alpha? Brother, you really are a talented liar.”
Then, he added a thoughtful clarification: “This ring does more than just track your location. It has a secondary function. If you ever feel like playing hide-and-seek and I lose my patience, I just press this controller…”
He looked up at Bai You with a smile, though the icy chill in his eyes finished the unspoken sentence.
Boom.
The ring would explode.
And Fu Yu held the only key.
When they returned last night, Fu Yu had said, “No Alpha would ever be rough with their own Omega.”
But they were brothers.
Did Fu Yu even understand the weight of what he was saying?
The broken skin on his neck still throbbed with pain. Between the frantic highs and lows of a single day, too much had happened. Bai You felt lightheaded and dizzy; he sat up with a frown, rubbing his swollen temples.
Fu Yu had left immediately after securing the shackle.
Looking around, Bai You realized belatedly that this wasn’t his own room. It was Fu Yu’s bedroom. The Alpha’s scent was everywhere, and without the protection of his camouflage agents, Bai You was completely submerged in it. His sensitive glands began to hum with a dull, feverish heat.
A few months ago, on this very bed, he had suddenly gone into heat and fallen into this vortex. Now, it seemed there was no escape.
Bai You’s fingertips turned white as he gripped the bedsheets. He took a deep breath, forced himself to find some strength, and performed a quick wash-up. He changed into a set of loungewear that seemed to have been prepared specifically for him—the fit was perfect. The metal ring, now warmed by his body heat, remained hidden beneath the hem of his trousers.
When he pushed the door open, two men were standing outside.
Bai You had seen them before. He didn’t know them well, only that they were Fu Yu’s subordinates. Curiously, they weren’t the hulking, battle-ready Alphas one might expect; they were both Betas.
The two greeted him with a surprising amount of respect. “Fifth Young Master, would you like breakfast?”
Bai You’s heart sank.
Beyond the shackle on his ankle, Fu Yu still wasn’t taking any chances. He had placed him under strict surveillance.
What was the point of imprisoning him?
If the goal was simply to find the Omega he had been obsessing over, shouldn’t Fu Yu have let him go once he discovered it was him?
Bai You wanted to demand answers, but Fu Yu vanished for the entire day.
The old estate remained the same as ever, yet it was now swarming with men maintaining tight security. The old butler continued to smile cheerfully, acting as if he knew nothing at all.
Bai You was forbidden from leaving the estate and barred from returning to his own room. He was confined to this bedroom.
The uncertainty of what was coming left him riddled with anxiety.
As the weather grew colder, Bai You felt forced to keep the window open. He needed the fresh air to dispel the strange, suffocating sensation of being enveloped by another Alpha’s pheromones.
He held a book in his lap but couldn’t bring himself to read. He sat in silence as the shadows lengthened, making no move to turn on the lights.
When the night had fully set in, the sound of familiar footsteps echoed from outside the door.
Bai You’s pulse quickened.
Fu Yu pushed the door open. Noticing the darkness of the room, he let out a low chuckle. “Brother, you seem to enjoy being in the dark… Does it feel familiar to you?”
Bai You set the book down and said coldly, “Is this fun for you?”
“Of course it’s fun.”
Fu Yu walked slowly toward him and leaned down. Aided only by the faint glow of the garden lights outside, he traced Bai You’s blurred features. His fingers, calloused from handling firearms, brushed against Bai You’s cheek. He let out a soft lament. “I’ve wanted to see what you really looked like for a long time.”
He applied a small amount of pressure, forcing Bai You to look at him. “You’re beautiful. Not ugly at all.”
Bai You was forced to meet those eyes dark and deep, filled with a mix of satisfaction and that familiar, predatory hunger.
His eyelid twitched. The truth was, his panic didn’t stem from not knowing what Fu Yu wanted; it stemmed from the fact that he knew exactly what Fu Yu intended to do.
That cold hand slid down from his face and pressed against his throat. Bai You’s breathing went shallow as he fought to keep his voice steady. “We are brothers.”
“I know.”
“I am your elder brother.”
“I know that too.”
Fu Yu’s fingers moved dangerously across his throat before settling over his scent gland.
Bai You hissed through gritted teeth, “You’re insane.”
“Who cares? We aren’t even related by blood anyway. We can blame that stallion of a father for this,” Fu Yu whispered. He leaned in until their noses touched, his breath warm against Bai You’s skin. “Why else would he have sired you as an Omega with a one hundred percent pheromone compatibility with me? You were born to be mine.”
One hundred percent?
Bai You’s head spun. “That’s impossible!”
He knew their compatibility had to be high otherwise, Fu Yu wouldn’t have hunted him so relentlessly—but he never imagined it was a perfect match.
For an Alpha or Omega to find a partner with over eighty percent compatibility was considered a stroke of incredible luck. A perfect match was statistically non-existent.
The compatibility report was sitting right there on the table outside. Fu Yu curled his lips into a smirk. After such a long, drawn-out chase, he had finally caught the Omega who had been so desperately trying to slip through his fingers.
“Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost? Weren’t you the one who crawled into my closet while in heat to seduce me in the first place? Or have you forgotten?”
Fu Yu leaned closer. “Let me help you remember.”
Bai You’s eyes widened, and he immediately tried to bolt.
Fu Yu was far faster. In a blur of movement, Bai You was hoisted up and tossed into the walk-in closet, landing amidst a pile of clothes. The cold barrel of a pistol was pressed firmly under his chin. “Look at this. a little Omega in heat?”
Bai You gritted his teeth, his temper flaring as he delivered a sharp kick toward Fu Yu’s chest.
In the next heartbeat, his ankle was seized. His trouser leg rode up, revealing his pale, delicate skin. The black shackle served only to heighten the underlying tension. Fu Yu gripped his ankle, his gaze turning dark and fervent.
Bai You recoiled from that raw, predatory look. Just as he was about to struggle again, Fu Yu laughed, tossed the gun aside, and pressed himself against him.
Sensing the sudden change in Fu Yu’s aura, Bai You froze. He clenched his jaw, terrified to even move.
This absolute pervert!
This was Fu Yu’s bedroom, and the Alpha’s pheromones were already heavy in the air. Now, with the man himself inches away, the erupting scent felt like an invisible hand tearing at Bai You’s every nerve. Those powerful pheromones were screaming with desire, demanding to pin him down, to break him, to force a way into his reproductive cavity and knot, leaving a permanent mark.
The gaze leveled at him was one of pure possession. Cold sweat broke out across Bai You’s back. He leaned back as far as he could, trying to create distance, biting his lip until it turned white as his face grew increasingly pale.
Fu Yu stared at him for a long moment. Suddenly, he grabbed Bai You’s chin and leaned in to kiss him.
Bai You stunned.
Strangely enough, this was the first real kiss they had ever shared.
Fu Yu had kissed his neck and his chest before, but this was the first time their lips had met. It was softer than he expected, almost gentle.
Sensing Bai You’s dazed state, Fu Yu let out a low laugh from deep in his throat. He cradled the back of Bai You’s head and pinned him against the interior wall of the closet. His tall frame shielded Bai You completely, creating a space so private and suffocating it felt as if the rest of the world had ceased to exist.
The moment of tenderness ended abruptly when Bai You snapped back to his senses and instinctively bit down hard.
Fu Yu didn’t even flinch. He tangled his tongue with Bai You’s in a teasing play, ignoring the struggle. It wasn’t until he had smeared the metallic taste of blood—saturated with Alpha pheromones across Bai You’s lips and teeth that he finally pulled back. He wiped a drop of blood from the corner of his mouth and sighed. “I’ve wanted to kiss you for so long.”
Bai You’s breath was trembling. He realized he had just done something incredibly stupid. By biting the Alpha’s tongue, he had allowed the pheromones to flood his system completely, triggering a state of pseudo-heat.
Fu Yu smiled mockingly. “You can’t blame me for that, Brother. You should have been more careful about where you bit.”
He looked relaxed, entirely confident that the Omega in front of him was now his for the taking. He cupped Bai You’s cheek with one hand, savoring the soft texture of his skin. “Actually, I have a proposal.”
Bai You’s consciousness was beginning to slip. His instincts were screaming at him to lean into the Alpha, while his mind fought desperately to hold his body back.
Inhaling the deepening scent of cold orchids, Fu Yu flicked his finger and undid the first button of Bai You’s shirt. “Being my brother is far too dangerous. Why don’t you be my lover instead?”
Bai You’s heart skipped a beat.
His mother had been that “stallion” Alpha’s lover.
Fu Yu continued, “It’s rare for me to find an Omega who actually interests me.”
Bai You thought dizzily of his mother—the fragile Omega who had been discarded by her family. She had believed that an eighty percent compatibility could tie that Alpha to her, never realizing that to men like him, she was nothing more than a fresh piece of cake.
Another button was undone, revealing the Omega’s pale, firm stomach rising and falling with his ragged breaths. Fu Yu watched with great interest, as if unwrapping a gift, when a sharp crack echoed through the small space. Pain blossomed across his cheek a second later.
His eyes turned cold as he looked down at Bai You.
Bai You’s face was flushed and his eyes were glazed with a hazy, seductive light. He was radiating a sweet, beckoning scent that called for an Alpha to claim him, yet his hand was gripping a weapon.
It was the gun Fu Yu had tossed aside.
Even while being forced into heat, Bai You would rather use a gun than let him touch him. The Alpha’s pride took a heavy blow. Fu Yu stared at the dark barrel of the gun and spoke coldly, “Do you really think you’d make it out of here alive if you pulled that trigger?”
Bai You bit his own tongue hard. The sharp pain cleared his head just enough to find a moment of lucidity. When he spoke, his voice was a mix of blood and orchid scent. “I don’t.”
As he spoke, he turned the barrel of the gun away from Fu Yu and pressed it against his own temple. He enunciated every word: “Get. Out.”
The heavy, romantic atmosphere shattered instantly. The air in the room seemed to freeze into a deathly silence.
Fu Yu stared at him blankly for a moment before finally standing up. He let out a mocking sneer. “You win.”
He turned to leave the room, throwing one last sentence over his shoulder as he walked out: “You can put it down now. There are no bullets in that gun.”
